what’s up guys welcome into another episode of the Michigan recruiting report this is a little different than our usual Michigan recruiting report obviously we didn’t have a live show that this week that’s because we are doing the yearly breaking down every single s podcast so in this episode which should be about an hour long I’ll be talking about every s in Michigan’s 2025 recruiting class so again I’m going to start off with the lowest ranked recruit per the Onre industry ranking and work our way all the way to number one who is going to be Bryce Underwood obviously but before we start breaking down all the SES I want to remind you guys to like this video subscribe to our YouTube channel for free uh we’re always dropping new videos we had a ton of great content coming out of signing day we had our Signing Day series Spotlight and that highlighted a ton of the sign so you can hear directly from them a lot of great in-depth interviews so make sure to go watch those videos and also like this video subscribe to our YouTube channel for free and even though sighting day is over it’s still a great time to subscribe to the wolverine.com we have a special offer just for you guys $1 for two months over at thewolverine.com use that promo code um1 that’s $1 for two months over at thewolverine.com you know we’re going to be talking a lot about the 2026 recruiting class the transfer portal is obviously very active so now is a great time to sign up for the wolverine.com or if you want to gift a subscription you can definitely do that too Christmas is right around the corner there’s no better gift to a Michigan fan than a subscription to the wolverine.com all right guys like I said we’re going to be breaking down every s in Michigan’s 25 recruiting class which is is up to number nine in the country and like I said we’re going to start at the bottom and work our way up these aren’t my personal rankings we’re just going by the on three industry ranking so the uh lowest ranked recruit in the class is also the newest the newest recruit in Michigan’s class and that’s Chase herb Street quarterback out of Ohio so Chase is uh definitely an intriguing late at obviously he is the son of Kirk herb Street uh analyst for ESPN former Ohio State player so kind of interesting that his son ended up at Michigan now I don’t want to get too much into that just talking about him as a pure player I don’t know a ton about Chase herb Street just because he was such a late ad I can tell you that you know he didn’t have any other offers Michigan was his only offer he’s ranked as the number 125 quarterback outside of the 2000s but Michigan needs depth at the quarterback position you bring in a guy like herb Street who I think can be a good practice arm he’s been around the game his entire life through his father so he probably brings a a high football IQ I’ve heard he brings a good work ethic so I think he’s you know a guy that you can add to the room in a year where you’re probably not going to add another highly touted guy with Bri Underwood so just an interesting depth piece there and obviously an interesting piece to the Michigan Ohio State rivalry so let’s go ahead and move on to our next s and that is going to be Travis Moten so Travis Moten is a really interesting late edition as well but I really like Travis mode man if you guys get a chance to go watch my shy Spotlight with Moten definitely do yourself a favor and do that he is a great kid with a great attitude I think he’s going to work himself onto the field at some point for Michigan it’ll probably take some time for him to develop but I really like what uh moton brings to the table on the field as well so not just an attitude standpoint when you look at his film he’s a guy that you can kind of tell was underrated he did fly under the radar for a long time I mean it wasn’t until later in the fall that he picked up offers from Michigan and Texas Tech and Virginia Michigan actually hosted him for an official visit the week before Signing Day and got him to commit on signing day now he’s listed as an edge and He’s listed at 6 fo 5250 both of those things are not accurate Michigan is recruiting him as more of a defensive lineman they see him as a three Tech I think when they put out the release for Michigan’s class they actually had him listed at 290 he told me he is at 275 so he’s a guy that can add weight lose weight which is good you know I think he’s a prospect that can build up uh the bulk it the right way and play at more than 300 pounds so I think you could see him not only as a three I think you could see him as that maybe bigger Longer nose as well which is something Michigan has hasn’t really been able to find since Kenneth Grant um but I like that he is listed as an edge in in the sense that he has a lot of experience rushing the passer and he’s kind of built himself up as a pass rusher and I think that will serve him well as an interior defensive lineman he um led the state of Kentucky in sacks which is impressive so I think Travis moton could be a Hidden Gem in this class he could uh definitely be a guy that outplays his ranking he’s one of the bigger sleepers in the class you know I have to sit down and watch some more film of Moten I’m not exactly sure where I would rank him but I definitely think he’s you know just from The Limited available Clips I’ve been able to see um I would say he’s a high three star type of guy uh low four star even um but again a guy that could definitely plays rankings has a really high ceiling so let’s go ahead and go on to our next s and that is going to be Chase Taylor three star linebacker out of Georgia so Chase is rated as a three star across the board he’s a number 681 overall Prospect nationally now Chase is a guy that when Michigan took him I was not a fan I remember saying I think it was even on the podcast I definitely wrote about it on the wolverine.com I just didn’t really see it and I thought he was really raw I didn’t think he was the best take at a position of need this cycle you know linebacker recruiting was struggling and struggled for most of the cycle until the Wolverines were able to Land N Danel Wu bowang late but the more I watched of Taylor through his senior year and the more I just watched him in general I thought man this kid is so raw as a linebacker but what I really like about him is his ability to rush the passer and Chase really grew on me as a recruit because I stopped thinking of him solely as a linebacker and I started thinking about him as more of an edge and honestly I think that’s what Chase might end up at at the next level He’s listed at 62 and a half 201 pounds he’s actually bulked up to about 215 um he kind of looks bigger than his listing and taller than he’s listing because he’s long he’s a long kid and when you watch some of those clips you just see it you kind of see that ability as a pass rusher and I think with Chase he’s a guy that reminds me a bit of Jaylen Harold now Jaylen was listed as a linebacker early before his position got switched to Edge I think Chase can follow that same path I think he has the frame to add some really good weight obviously he has the length he did rush the passer quite a bit this year as a senior he showed some athleticism on the offensive side of the ball while playing kind of an HB type of role so like I said I think Chase has really grown on me I would actually have him ranked as a low four star but as an edge kind of having that you know caveat that he is more of a pass rusher than a linebacker could he play the will for sure um you know could he maybe add all this weight and be a Mike maybe but I do really like what he brings to the table um as a pass rusher and I’m curious to see if he makes that transition or not at Michigan he’s just a really fascinating um recruit for me especially how his recruitment played out too was kind of weird like there weren’t a lot of major suitors outside of USC and Georgia Tech but Michigan identified him early in the process and made him a top Target so you know that chase is a guy that’s been you know a tier one recruit for Michigan for a long time so obviously they see something in him as well all right let’s move on from Chase and go to to our next s and sorry there’s these like pauses in between me navigating to the next s that I’m self-producing tonight which means I’m bringing up the profiles myself U so I’m having to scroll to another tab so please bear with me but it is Eli Owens one of my personal favorite recruits in the class now Eli’s another kid that just really grew on me as a prospect I’ve always loved him as a kid he is one of the most charismatic kids you’ll ever meet um you know like I said with Travis moden do yourself a favor and go watch my sinese Spotlight with Eli Owens man I uh wrote the signing early signing period superlatives earlier today and Eli was my vote for future team captain he just has the personality he’s a leader he’s a guy that you just want to follow I mean you could talk to him for hours like that shy Spotlight I did with him could have gone on forever if I didn’t put a stop to it like you just want to be around Eli he has such a Magnetic Personality and it’s very very genuine as well the first time I ever saw Eli was at a seven on seven his sophomore going into his junior year so I saw him at a seven on seven um it’s one of the bigger seven on sevens it’s called Rocky Top usually sound mind sound body uh from Detroit goes to it so I try to go to it every year and Eli Owens plays with a Nashville based team called MPA which is actually the same organization that produced guys like Mason Curtis and Junior Coulson anyway um you know I had a chance to see Eli and I normally don’t like Haack type of guys obviously Michigan utilizes them um but just as a recruiting guy only it’s a guy an amateur Val valuator if you want to call me I don’t really love short tight ends I you know these HB guys don’t really do it for me but when I watched Eli I thought this guy is like Max bredeson but he’s built like Max BR but he can catch the ball he was fantastic in that seven on seven tournament I mean he looked like a wide receiver running routes even though he was this you know more compact stockier kid and when I saw him as a senior so SE I saw him at the same seven on S tournament as a senior he had lost a little bit of weight and again he just had a really really good tournament you know and it’s hard for recruiting services to grade guys like Eli really high it’s like I talked about with me I just don’t love HBS but then when I went to go see him ingame I got a greater appreciation for what Eli brings to the table and why he’s such a great fit at Michigan not just off the field I talked about how he’s the vice president I mean he’s the best fit from a culture perspective but from an on the field perspective there may not be a better fit I mean he is Max bredeson when it comes to blocking he’s a devastating blocker he takes pride in blocking he puts guys in the dirt I mean he plays some fullback he plays some HB he plays some traditional tight end and I mean just brute strength he’s out in the Smoky Mountains and plays like a wild man like he’s out there wrestling Bears um and then you see him as a pass catcher and he’s not like Max breson he’s a guy that brings added value as a true receiving tight end I mean when I went out to see him in that game earlier this fall he had that crazy one-handed Odell Beckham style catch and you’re just like wow this is an h-back making those types of catches and when I asked Eli you know who’s your favorite player or who’s your your favorite pro player and he said Delaney Walker and Delaney is a good example of a guy that was an actual threat as a receiver but was a shorter tight end he excelled uh for Jim Harbaugh with the San Francisco 49ers for a little while so I think he can play a similar type of role uh at Michigan where he’s actually used as a receiver and not just as this physical blocker but I think Eli brings The Best of Both Worlds and you know Eli convinced me man I’m on the fourstar boat for Eli Owens because I think he brings such a great value to Michigan again solely on the field not even just what he brings off the field so not enough positive things to say about Eli and he’s a really good athlete too man I mean he’s a two-time State basketball Champion he played goalie for the soccer team and like I said just great kid does a lot of community service I mean there like there I could go on and on about Eli Owens there are so many positive things to say about this kid I think that Michigan’s getting a great one in Eli all right let’s let’s remove Eli from the screen if not we’ll just have an Eli Owens only podcast and let’s go ahead and go to our next recruit and that would be Jamar Browder three star wide receiver out of Florida a late edition to the class flip from NC State this fall uh ranked in the 500s here the number 92 wide receiver in the country a three star right uh no actually one service does have him as a fourstar but a three star on all three other services so with Browder I wrote like I said I wrote the signing day superlatives today or the signing period superlatives today and Browder was my pick for biggest sleeper in the class now I think I could have gone with Chase Taylor I think I could have gone with Travis moton but I really like what Jamar Browder brings to the table he is a big kid He’s listed at 6 fo4 205 but he has a really well filled out frame just a thicker lower half thicker upper half like he looks like that physical intimidating presence on the outside that Michigan desperately desires remember Michigan hadn’t landed a wide receiver taller than 6 foot2 since the 2022 recruiting class that’s insane so you went backtack years without Landing a taller white out now that means there’s an obvious need for size and Michigan did go the more size route you know obviously they brought in Browder they they brought in Jacob Washington who we’ll talk a little bit about but the reason Browder is my biggest sleeper is because I think he could play very early I mean there’s a need for a big receiver like I said Michigan hasn’t landed one in a couple of Cycles there’s just the need for help in the wide receiver room in general and I think Browder just brings something to the table that Michigan doesn’t have and hasn’t had for a while uh I think he’s still raw in some certain aspects of his game just technical uh stuff like releases and and General Route running but he’s such a big Target he can be a safety blanket over the middle of the field he can be a mismatch just running some Slants and he can go up and get it in the red zone and use his physicality and his size to his Advantage I think Michigan listed him at 6 foot5 um he is a really really fascinating Prospect and the thing that stands out about Browder from you know just talking to sources was the fact that Chiron Moore personally made him a top Target I heard that Chiron you know kind of stepped in and said this is the guy I really want in the class like I said Browder was a late Riser uh going into the fall I originally had heard that Michigan was going to take a look at several different options based on senior tape they offered Browder and that was like the only guy they offered as far as late risers go and they went all in on him so you know the fact that Chiron sees something in Browder I think gives me you know more confidence that picking Browder as my biggest sleeper in the class will pan out so um again a nice late win for Michigan here with Browder let’s go ahead and move on to the next Sig and that will be Kaden strahorn uh Kaden is a guy that uh I don’t know man for some reason it doesn’t seem like a lot of people are talking about kayen but I love kateen I love Kaden strahorn a ton I mean he is one of my favorite kids in the class I know he was a Michigan State Legacy or he is a Michigan State Legacy and was considered a Michigan State lean very early on in the process but I went out to IMG Academy when Kaden was a sophomore uh obviously IMG produces a ton of Highly touted players so I don’t even remember who I went out to see um but Kaden was a guy that I requested to talk to and after interviewing him for the first time I just kind of had a sense that he really liked Michigan I remember posting on the Wolverine saying hey this kadon strahorn kid I mean he really likes Michigan I know he’s a Michigan State Legacy but he seems to love the program he’s Donovan Edwards cousin there could be something here and then I went back to IMG the following spring so that would have been um this past Spring right I don’t know anyway um one of these recent times I went to go see Kaden I really got the sense that Michigan was the front runner I mean he had a really strong relationship with Chiron Moore who before he took over as head coach served as his primary uh recruiter as the offensive line coach and you know from talking to those around the program it was clear that strahorn was high on the board as well and you know I know his father Jason is an analyst for Michigan State um but in talking to Jason I mean he’s always been fully supportive of anything Kaden does he didn’t have any problem with Kaden committing to Michigan in fact Jason did a little recruiting of his own behind the scenes I’m not sure our party fans would really appreciate hearing that but hey you know um but yeah I mean Kaden gave me kind of an indication that Michigan was out in front this spring and then going into His official visit in the summer I remember texting him and being like hey man I mean I think it’s going to be Michigan you might have I put in a prediction and he said go ahead you know put in the prediction and he committed that night he called me from uh his dinner on his official it which was crazy he gave me the quotes for the story and then he committed so you know Kaden and I have a really good rapport um and he absolutely loves Michigan man I mean again you have those Michigan State ties but he told me he grew up you know kind of watching the program and really loving the way Michigan played from a style perspective the recent offensive line production like I said he’s Donovan edwards’s cousin as well so he watched some of these recent runs and I mean if you look at my or if you go watch My Signing Spotlight with k as well he kind of gets emotional just talking about signing with Michigan which is you know really great to see I mean he really loves the program and the opportunity he has I think Kaden’s eventually GNA work himself onto the field you know he’s a true Center at about 6 fo2 and a half 285 pounds so he’s on the shorter side I don’t necessarily mind that when it comes to centers he’s very technical obviously his father you know playing at the the Collegiate level I think that that helps him he has good offensive line specific training he goes to IMG Academy where he gets great coaching so from a technical standpoint I think Kaden’s gonna transition to Center uh with no problem and I say transition um he’s played center before he’s trained at Center but he actually started as an offensive tackle for IMG this year and the year prior when I saw him as a junior and uh so again I think the set the transition to Center is going to be pretty easy for him I mean he’s a smart kid High football IQ kid uh a technician and I think the transition from tackle to Center is obviously going to benefit him he doesn’t have the height or the length to really stick at tackle but he’s a merer he’s a physical run blocker he’s nasty he finishes Blocks he’s a bully in the trenches so uh there is a lot to like about Kaden strahorn as well for me I kind of had the same dilemma with Jake WIA last cycle Jake was is a different type of Center than Kaden Jake is a little longer he’s a little more athletic Kaden probably more physical um but with Jake I thought he had an argument as the top Center or you know one of the top centers in the country but I still kept him a three star uh because I saw him as a pure Center kind of same thing with Kaden I I have him as a high three star just because I see him as more of a pure Center but he’s arguably the best center you could have gone out and gotten this cycle um so yeah I mean a lot of positive things to be to be said about Kaden both as a player and off the field as well great kid great family I think Jason and Alicia strahorn have done a fantastic job with him all right let’s move on to um sorry guys again we have the delay because I’m self-producing um Bobby kka Bobby kka was the first commit in Michigan’s class committing back in August of 2023 remember kka committed to Michigan defensive line coach Mike Elston um with kka you know he’s a big kid He’s listed at 6 foot4 263 it looks like on his profile I think he’s bigger than that um Bobby kind of reminds me of the same guys that Mike ellson recruited you know Brooks Bar Ted Hammond just lunch paale type of guys that’ll you know put their hard hats on and give the extra effort might be a little limited athletically but a good player in the trenches I think canka is going to be a nice depth piece a good glue guy um a guy that could work his way onto the field maybe late in the process he’s not the most exciting um you know defensive line addition but just really really solid football player I thought he had a good senior season uh for how which had a lot of success this year even went out and beat Bryce Underwood and Belleville so you know again with kka I just see him as more of a high floor not a a lot of athleticism or plus measurables that get you excited but a high floor a depth piece a glue guy um just bring some added value to the defensive line room okay let’s go ahead and go with um let’s see who’s next on the list Donovan Johnson yes sir all right I get to talk about one of my favorite kids again Donovan Johnson man what a story for this kid he was a junior Olympian projected to be a five-star at least top 100 level recruit when he was a freshman at Calvary Day in Savannah Georgia he transfers to IMG Academy to kind of Step Up in competition to test himself he ends up splitting carries with some upper classman and then going into his junior year he was expected to have an even bigger role at IMG and really live up to that early hype and then he tore his ACL um and that’s obviously very unfortunate for any player to suffer that type of injury um but for Donovan I think it had such an impact on him but both physically obviously that’s a a horrific injury but uh mentally as well he kind of scrubed social media for a while did his recruitment plummeted he didn’t have as many active offers as he once did when he was a freshman I mean he had offers from literally everybody in the country and so I think it was probably a depressing time for Donovan but Donovan is one of my favorite kids because whenever you talk to Donovan it’s so it’s such a positive experience like you know I could be exhausted which I was on my many trips to IMG this year and just knowing I’m gonna go see Donovan like lifts my spirits up like gets me excited like I’m not even tired anymore because I know I’m gonna go see Donovan it’s great because he’s such a positive kid has such a positive mentality his father Derek uh Johnson is the same way when I went out to Savannah to see Donovan train um Derek took me out to get some soul food and you know he’s such a great positive guy as well so just really positive energy family I think Donovan when the injury happened was down a little bit but that positivity kicked in he worked so hard to bring himself back from the torn ACL to get on the field this year he didn’t get cleared until late May so he was off the field for more than entire year so as soon as he got cleared he went back home to Georgia hit the road to Atlanta went and saw a specific running back trainer there trained side by side with Atlanta Falcons running back Jace mclen who Michigan fans might know from Alabama um Jace I covered on the Texas beat so kind of a fun little story here I covered Jace on the Texas beat and Jace was one of my favorite recruits and when Jace was in high school he was one of the uh you know all-time leading rushers in the state of Texas just a decorated career but also you know ended up tearing his ACL so it was great for Donovan to kind of get perspective from Jace because Jace went through that injury bounc back had a great career at Alabama um towards the end and then obviously went on to the NFL so I think it was great for Donovan to get that perspective and pick up some things both mentally and from a game perspective from Jace so he goes to Atlanta does the running back training comes back to Savannah where his father Derek is also a trainer So that obviously helped Donovan then goes back to IMG um sits the first couple of games doesn’t get a lot of carries and then the Coco game comes and this is the game I had circled on my calendar forever I was like IMG Coco you’re gonna have Kaden and Donovan up against Brady Hart who was obviously committed at the time and Koko a defending state champion I IMG a national Powerhouse you know but I had just seen IMG the week before it kind of just so happened I never see teams back to back but it so happened that IMG came to the east coast they played Bergen Catholic on a Thursday night so I went to that game and I think Donovan had like two carries for four yards and I could I saw I saw him after the game and he was obviously very disappointed and I was like you know keep your head up man I’ll see you next week hopefully you know things work out better and so I think IMG was trying to ease him back in coming off the in coming off the injury so they play Coco and he doesn’t start the game it was kind of the same thing I was more focused on Kaden and Brady and then I want to say around the second quarter uh one of their running backs got injured they put Donovan in the game and man he just took over he had more than a 100 yards rushing and a touchdown and I’ll never forget the touchdown like he took it uh he just burst through the hole you kind of saw a flash of what he used to be took it all the way to the end zone and I remember Nathaniel Wu bang who was injured at the time running down the sideline waving a towel bumped into me Donovan bumped into me on the way back and it was uh just a fun experience everybody was yelling and you know squirting the Gatorade and stuff so uh they ended up winning that game and like I said Donovan ended up with more than 100 yards in touchdown and it showed what Donovan could be now imgc season was really weird you had all those hurricanes in Florida they’re national team so they travel they had a lot of flight cancellations they only played a handful of games this year um so we didn’t really get to see a ton of what Donovan could do but you know like I said he was a junior Olympian he’s a bigger back at 6’1 213 pounds he loves to run between the tackles he kind of fits the Hassan H Haskins type of mold I think if you can get Donovan back to that old form you could see a potential steal here I think he already has such a terrific bond with Tony Alford Michigan’s running backs coached who recruited him at Ohio State I think Tony is the guy that can get the most out of Donovan so yeah Donovan’s a kid that I’m really rooting for um I think that his story is awesome he’s awesome his family’s awesome so I think Michigan fans should really you know invest in Donovan and and really cheer him on as well I also had a signing spotlight video with him make sure to go watch that interview all right let’s go ahead and move on to um our next running back so we’re going back toback running backs I didn’t realize they were ranked right next to each other um but Jasper Parker Jasper is one of the more underrated guys in the class as well he’s ranked in the 300s his rankings are kind of all over the place so you see on three has them in the 160s rivals has them just outside the 200 Mark 247 and ESPN both have them as a three star um I think Jasper is a four star Pro probably I I would probably go with the rivals ranking to be honest around the 200 to 250 type of range is where I’d put jper he’s really having a strong senior season which is still ongoing like they’re they’re deep into the playoffs right now in Louisiana he has to be playing for a State title at this point but anyway um Jasper terrific senior season I mean his Junior stuff was impressive I when I looked at his Junior stuff going into the season because I did you know rankings going into the season and I think I listed Jasper as a low four star his Junior stuff again was pretty impressive but his senior stuff he’s shown a little bit more burst a little bit more explosion to his game he’s definitely been racking up the yards um I think he set a Louisiana record for a single game um single game rushing yard so with Jasper you’re getting a taller athletic back He’s listed at 6 foot1 200 he’s not as um maybe physical as Donovan Johnson but he’s physical enough he will run you over he um you know does enjoy running between the tackles but I think he offers a little more athleticism or versatility is probably a better way to put it than Donovan Donovan’s a really good athlete as well like I said hey you Junior Olympian but Jasper I think offers a little bit more as a pass catcher just has a really um I don’t know how to describe it just kind of more athletic build Donovan’s more compact bulkier um Jasper looks a little leaner looks like he you know could play some receiver but he’s still muscular um but yeah I mean he’s a great pass catcher as well I think they complement each other really well Jasper and Donovan um with Jasper he’s such a great kid too make sure to go watch my shy spotlight video with Jasper a really intelligent kid High character kid High football IQ I think he’s going to soak up a lot of Knowledge from Tony Alfred as well so yeah I mean Michigan did a great job of identifying him and the neat thing about Jasper is he picked up a Michigan offer when the Wolverines didn’t even have a running backs Coach Ron Bellamy actually the way it happened was Ron Bellamy went to Arc Bishop Shaw which is where Jasper Parker Goes to School uh B actually played for Parker’s High School head coach Hank TIY who’s one of the legendary coaches in the state of Louisiana uh Bellamy caught wind of Parker you know through that connection watched the film and then he put it in front of Fred Jackson Who obviously is not the runningbacks coach but is still on staff that helps with running backs um and he went to Fred Jackson and he said hey what do you think about this kid and then you know Fred gave him the green light and said offer him so so Bellamy ends up offering him Tony Alfred arrives and so they show the film to Tony Alfred and they’re like look at this kid because Tony wasn’t looking at Jasper at Ohio State so you know Alfred watches the film and he says I’m all in and so they go all in on Jasper um Alfred recruited him hard throughout the spring got him on campus in June uh Jasper fell in love with Michigan on the OV and he committed that same night so you know I think Jasper loves what Michigan has to offer on and off the field the relationships are really strong he’s a great fit for the offense as well both him and Donovan have some of those Hassan has Haskin type of uh Tendencies or or similar attributes as Hassan I think they’ll both be you know if Donovan fully recovers I think he and Jasper will both be you know really really solid backs for Michigan um that could definitely exceed what their rankings uh currently project them to be all right let’s go with um down to Julius Holly is up next um Julius Holly is a fourstar industry Edge out of the state of Georgia he is ranked as a fourstar by three services a a low his rankings are interesting so he’s a low four star on three services but none of those Services have him ranked in the top you know 250 or 300 then for 247 he’s a high three star so that tells you that they basically kind of all agree like there’s no true difference between being a high three star and a low four star outside of the top 300 it’s basically based on site whether that pushes you up to the next tier of star but anyway um they basically all agree on him and I do too I personally have him as a high three star I think with Julius Holly he has a high floor he’s a guy that has a little bit of an inconsistent motor he’s more ath he’s kind of deceptively athletic he has some really good testing times but it doesn’t always pop up on tape uh when he turns it on you can see the ability when he doesn’t turn it on it leaves you kind of wanting a lot more because you see the potential so Holly again just that high floor type of guy but still a little frustrating because you think that he also could have a high ceiling um he’s a really tough Prospect to talk about and to grade I think he is a guy that’s going to need to bulk up a bit in the strength and conditioning program and really just put it all together if Lu maso can maximize him he can be a late career starter which is kind of where I have high three stars projected as late career starters um but I think he’s probably gonna have to sit a little while May provide some good depth and then will be you know a guy that that starts later on all right let’s go to our next s and that is Benny Patterson so talking about fascinating rankings Benny Patterson is a guy that’s ranked as the number 77 overall recruit in the country by on three and then is a three star by everybody else uh he is a high three star I believe on Rivals and 247 but on ESPN it looks like he’s a middling three star or even a low three star like they don’t even have ESPN doesn’t even have Benny Patterson ranked one of the top 20 recruits in the state of Indiana so ESPN obviously hates Benny Patterson usually when you have rankings like these that are so dramatically different the answer is somewhere right in the middle for me Benny Patterson is a low fourstar kid borderline top 300 type of kid um I think he’s a guy that put together a really good senior season he was committed to Cincinnati and then started to attract interest from Michigan us and a few others he ended up flipping to Michigan this fall He’s listed at 6′ 3240 on his film you see him rushing the passer a lot which he can definitely do but I really like him as a foure ey which is the same thing that Michigan kind of sees him at um I talked to a source close to the program who told me they see him kind of in the same mold as a Chris Jenkins and I can see that as well I’m not saying he’s going to be Chris Jenkins but the frame the skill set is is pretty similar he’s 6’3 240 um listed as an edge win or I’m sorry He’s listed as a defensive linan he was listed as an edge at one point um but Chris Jenkins when he was a recruit again similar frame I think Chris was listed at like six foot4 235 somewhere around there and then he obviously ended up bulking up over 300 pounds at Michigan he was listed as an edge did a lot of pass rushing at good Council and with kind of the same thing I think you could see him balloon up to around 300 or a little over has that pass rushing experience but will be a really athletic four I so I think there’s a lot to like about Benny Patterson I don’t have him graded as high as on three um but I have them graded higher than the other three services all right let’s move right along to our next recruit and that’ll be a regat so Avery is listed as the number 277 overall recruit nationally the number 21 interior offensive lineman um Avery is graded as a fourstar by three services Rivals ESPN 247 on three as him as a high three star um even though they have him like outside of the top 35 for interior offensive lineman so he’s kind of on the cut but being a mid three star um Rivals is the only service that has him ranked as a top 150 recruit nationally they have them number 130 in the country um I agree with again the the rankings I like I always say they answer probably somewhere in the middle I agree with 247 and ESPN I have Avery as a low fourstar borderline top 300 kid which is you know around where his industry is um that’s elevated a little bit by the rivals ranking but yeah probably low fourstar around the top 300 reason being I see Avery as strictly a guard and I am the type of guy that does not rank true guards that high just kind of like I said with Kaden strahorn I really like Kaden as a player but um as a center you don’t really value them that much from a rankings perspective guards are a little different there is more value there but with Avery I don’t see a lot of tackle flexibility so I’m only looking at him as a pure interior offensive lineman but what he does bring to the table as a guard is physicality he’s a guy that when you look at his tape I mean he’s a merer he plays with nastiness he plays with a Mean Streak um he has pretty good length for an interior offensive lineman he uses his extension really well um he’s not super athletic which has been a knock on him though thought he showed him improved athleticism as a senior um but the biggest thing is he’s a great run blocker and he’ll fit right in with Michigan smash mentality there’s a reason they prioritized Avery early in the cycle he just fits what Michigan’s offensive line usually means you know he plays with a lot of grid he plays with a lot of physicality it just takes a lot of pride in run blocking so I think that Avery will be a multi-year starter as an interior offensive lineman he’ll probably sit for a while but I think he’s your future guard I mean and there’s obviously nothing wrong with that I I am not dissing Avery Gat I feel like there’s this uh you know I don’t know what to call it this like rumor that I don’t like Avery Gat I really like Avery Gat for what he is like I think when you’re looking at the best run blocking guards in the country Avery Gat is right up there and that’s a great fit for the future of Michigan football all right let’s go ahead and move on to Jacob Washington man Michigan’s recruits just have so many crazy rankings like uh disagreements uh so you have Jacob Washington here he’s ranked as the number 213 overall recruit nationally but his recruitment is so I mean his rankings are so wild um he’s the number 83 overall recruit in the country on on three so top 100 guy for on three he’s number 230 on ESPN so top 250 guy on ESPN he’s a low four star on Rivals uh outside of the top 50 wide receivers in the country and then he’s a high three star on 247 outside of the top 60 wide receivers in the country so you have everything from the number 62 wide receiver in the country to the number 83 overall Prospect in the country that’s insane look I like Jacob I like his upside I think he’s a low fourstar again we go to the same thing the answer is probably somewhere in the middle I think he’s a low fourar borderline top 300 kid with the Jacob Washington he’s different from Jamar Browder because like I said with Browder Browder is a thick physical outside presence just looks like what you’d want your big outside wide receiver to be Jacob is a taller outside wide receiver but he’s not a bigger outside receiver he’s a bigger body in the sense when you’re comparing him to Michigan’s you know room full of little slots but um he’s a taller more athletic receiver that right now wins a lot more with finesse as opposed to physicality he’s a guy that can stretch the field vertically more than Browder he has good speed for his size um but he’s not necessarily that security blanket over the middle of the field he can be just because he has a really good catch radius but he wins more with athleticism he he likes being more of a vertical guy he likes being more of a finesse guy he’s actually a really good route Runner as well um I think with Jacob you’re talking a lot of uh you know just pure vertical deep threat routes you’re talking about you know comebacks you’re talking about corners you’re uh talking about depost like routes like that Jacob can run really well and be such a threat on but I think you know when you’re talking about Slants or you know mesh routes or you know things like that that are more over the field um some angle routes like that’s that’s more browers game probably um but I think Jacob just a really good athlete to go along with that height like I said put together some good testing times I believe he didn’t run um 100 in track but at the Under Armour Camp I believe he clocked the four or five laser which is really really good uh when you’re talking about laser times especially at that height and like I said the catch radius is something that stands out he has really really long arms so um yeah I think with Jacob he’s a guy that can add some weight probably add some more physicality to his game just to um just to be able to make him a more complete outside receiver um but him and brow are just kind of contrasting styles that complement each other well as as two outside receivers let’s go ahead and move on to um we’ve got sorry about that guys the computer was delaying a little bit we’ve got Nathaniel Wu bowang I didn’t expect to talk about woo this early um but that is because again the rankings are all over the place what are we doing here um Rivals has them as a fstar ESPN as him as a top 100 four star 247 as him as a low four star outside of the top 247 and on three has him as a middling three star all that equates to the number 188 overall recruit in the country for the industry ranking I have known w forever I have seen him live many times I would put him in the top one 100 to 150 or maybe the next bracket like top 125 to 175 so a little higher than his industry ranking but not as high as ESP ESPN and Rivals definitely higher than on three and 247 on three hates woo for some reason um but with woo I think the thing that was for him is the fact that he didn’t play as a senior so I think there were some question marks that he didn’t really get to answer uh in his final year he missed the entire senior season but I still think you’re getting one of the better linebackers in the country I think you’re getting a guy that can come in and make an early impact when healthy he’s really fun to watch I saw him as a junior at IMG play against uh St Joe prep in Philadelphia and St Joe prep you know a premier school they have a ton of D1 Talent on both sides of the ball and wo put together a really really impressive game I think he at 6 foot one 200 P 200 pounds he’s an athletic backer that fits what Michigan does as a will he can drop back into coverage and perform really well there he’s physical he comes downhill in a hurry so there’s a lot to like about woo you know when you look at Michigan and you look at that um wink marale has a ton of experience in the NFL he knows what he’s looking for in Talent there’s a reason that wink personally made woo a top overall priority and they didn’t really recruit any other linebackers right like they just had Chase Taylor committed they flirted around with a few others like Kamar Archie but Nathaniel USU bang was always at the very top of the want list on the linebacker board Michigan did a fantastic job of closing with him and he’s another just great kid like I said I’ve known woo for a long time longer than most of the guys in this class I actually met him when he was a freshman at damaa before he transferred to IMG uh so he’s been on the scene for a long time you saw him come out in the traditional kente and uh really honoring his Gan roots on national Signing Day and that was just a cool experience just a really you know downto Earth humble kid quiet kid about his business um great academic student that was something that was really important to him when Colorado made that run down the stretch I think something that helped put Michigan over the top there was just what a Michigan degree means he really values it uh his brother played at Notre Dame and plays in the NFL so I mean he he’s had a guy that’s been a role model there for him but yeah I mean just a lot of things to to like about uh woo as a kid to like about him as a player Michigan got its guy at the linebacker position and I think he’s going to be a really really good one and a fan favorite in an aror all right let’s go with the next recruit on the list is Jordan young the uh recruitment that I apparently ruined Jordan young ended up flipping from uh Clemson to Michigan late in the cycle just a few weeks after clitt committing to Clemson um really interesting the way this one played out um he gave a silent commitment to Michigan behind the scenes didn’t tell Clemson until I think a day before he publicly announced to Michigan but either way the Wolverines did a fantastic job of continuing to stay in contact with Jordan young overcoming you know factors like distance and nil and winning him over there at the end uh Lamar Morgan Michigan secondary coach has done a fantastic job as a pure recruiter and he’s a big reason Michigan was able to flip Jordan young um his rankings are interesting as well not as much of a gap as we’ve talked about with some others but on three has him as a top 100 recruit number 99 um Rivals has them just outside the top 200 ESPN has them just outside the top 100 and 247 has them as a low four star so either way he’s a four star across the board I have them as a top 125 to 17 75 players so higher than rivals in 247 but a little lower than on three in ESP ESPN um Jordan I think is a really good fit for the nickel position he’s very athletic which is something that Michigan wanted to bring to the nickel spot they wanted to get more athletic there they wanted more Rod Moore type of players in the nickel role and Jordan young definitely fits that he is a longer kid he’s not super Speedy um but he has good closing speed and he wins with athleticism um I’d like to see him get a little bit more physical but the athletic part I say he’s not super Speedy but he’s just a really good athlete I mean he’s a kid that averages uh 15 points per game on the basketball court he went to the North Carolina State track meet in four different events two hurdling events uh the high jump I believe and then he won the North Carolina State tracked me in the triple jump I want to say so um yeah I mean just good athlete all around he also had some offers as a wide receiver so I mean Jordan young just really good instincts and and when you watch his tape you see a lot of playmaking ability at wide receiver I think that’ll transition well to the secondary um just in terms of ball skills and tracking and things like that so yeah I like Jordan young I think he’s a great fit I think he doesn’t have have as high of a floor as former commit Ivan Taylor but he’s basically an Ivan Taylor type of replacement with a higher ceiling all right let’s move along to let’s see who will be next on the list that is Jaden Sanders so the DBS are who we’re going to be talking about here uh Jaden Sanders reminds me of former Michigan cornerback jaman green and I’ve seen some jaman green slander out there get out of here with that uh jaman was a critical piece for Michigan’s you know playoff run uh he was multi-year starter at the cornerback position it’s what I see with Jaden Sanders I mean I think Jaden Sanders is gonna be a guy that probably sits for a couple years while he develops a really good athlete I’m not really sure how fast he is I think that’s kind of a knock on him and that was a knock on jaman when he was a recruit but just taller longer safety listed at 175 he he can add some weight though he looks a little big on film but when you see him in person you can see that he has the frame to add more weight um but he plays with good L he play he uses utilizes his length to his Advantage he plays with good physicality he starts at wide receiver for Kilgore which is a smaller School in East Texas uh and makes him plays there as well I think he could play some safety too um early on before transitioning into corner but I think he’s a really really solid um number two Corner next to Shamari ears who we’ll talk about here later on in the show um just kind of a a quiet small town kid that goes about his business I think he has a similar personality as Lamar Morgan so they’ll mesh really really well uh when you look at his rankings Rivals has him as a high three star uh on three and 247 have him as a top 200 guy ESPN has him as a top 250 guy I actually have him ranked a little lower than all of these guys except for Rivals I have him as a low fourstar borderline uh top 300 guy but again for me that means you’re a multi-year starter like Jamon green I think that’s a really solid career um moving on to let’s see Elijah doson um Elijah’s rankings are kind of all over the place so with Elijah um you know instate kid listed as a corner at 6’1 170 Michigan recruiting him more as a safety um he’s a top 150 guy on 247 in Rivals he’s a low four star on ESPN and on three I actually have him um graded as a high three star but I need to go watch some more Elijah Dotson maybe I’m just missing the boat there um but I see him as more of a safety nickel really athletic kid also starts at wide receiver for Belleville made a lot of plays there this season catching passes from Bryce Underwood you know has good uh height has good length um like I mentioned with Jordan young the uh receiver experience I think helps with his ball skills and his tracking like I said I see him more as a safety than I do as a corner where he’s listed but I think he could play some Corner um he has the athleticism to do that I think he has the athleticism to kind of just move around the secondary and fill different roles he’s athletic like a Jordan young so he can play the nickel and fits the description for what they’re looking for there I think I don’t see him as a similar player to Mari pagee I think they have different skill sets but in terms of uh career trajectory I think he’s very much like a Mari pagee who can be a solid contributor and then you know grow into a multi-year starter down the line let’s go ahead and move on to kindo Wi yes kinoa is also one of my favorite recruits in the class and sorry guys if you’re experiencing a quick delay my computer was being weird um and kindo his face got cut off all right so we’ve got kyo’s full h Profile here he is listed as the number 100 overall recruit in the country and that’s like right where I have kinoa like right on that top 100 level um on three has him at number 87 overall ESPN has him at number 51 overall I’m sorry on3 has him at number 67 apparently I’m getting bad Vision um 247 has him just outside the top 120 and then Rivals has him as a low four star Rivals had him as a three star forever and it was terrible and they still didn’t bump them up high enough um I think it’s clear if you take Rivals which is the anomaly out of the picture it’s clear that kinoa is anywhere from a top 60 I’m sorry a top yeah 65 to 120 type player that’s his range he has a high floor he’s goingon to get on the field early there’s a lot to love about Kyo Winston we don’t talk about Kyo Winston enough I try to talk about Kyo Winston I don’t know why everybody else doesn’t talk about Kyo Winston he when I went out on the road this year I saw close to 40 high school games the most fun outside of Savon haer that I had watching a kid play football was kind of a Winston he does everything for Gonzaga he lines up as a true safety comes up in the Box as a deao linebacker he rushes the passer he lines up at running back he lines up at Wildcat quarterback he blocks punts he blocks kicks he’s a kick returner like is a literal army knife um I did my signing uh period superlatives he was the most versatile for obvious reasons and what’s really fun about Kola Winston and I know it’s overused everybody hates you know using the honey badger reference that’s Kyo Winston though man he’s like five n and a half 185 pounds of pure muscle and physicality this kid wants to hurt you he’s more physical than some of the linebackers that Michigan has recruited in the past he is just a missile out there tremendous closing speed wants to hurt you when he hits you that type of mindset I’ve likened him to Bob Sanders who is obviously an all-time great safety um Bob Sanders wasn’t the tallest guy but man he was so good at his position and he always packed a hit that’s the same with kinoa Winston he’s also a sprinter on G track team so he has the speed and like I said he has the athleticism this dude literally plays everywhere he’s super smart he goes to gonzago which is a high academic private school he’s smart on the field he’s a commander from the safety position he fits Michigan so well he’s that type of High character kid he’s a future team captain in my opinion there I’ve never spoken to anyone that’s had anything remotely negative to say about Kyo Winston everybody showers him with praise and the thing that really stands out uh about kyo’s opportunity for early playing time I think he can do it in the secondary but when I spoke to Randy triers the head coach at Gonzaga I said what stands out about K Winston you know what are what are some of his biggest strengths and before he even started to talk about kinoa as a safety he told me kinoa is an excellent special teams player and that is very clear when you go out and watch him he blocked a couple of punts and kicks this year um I mean just they the other team has to account for him I know the other team watches the Special Teams film because when I went to go see him they kind of had an extra blocker out there because they were accounting for Winston um I think at the end of the season they played against St John’s and instead of having him rush from the outside they had him just come up and rush through the middle and St Johns was completely befuddled and he was so close to blocking that kick I mean every time I see him um he’s out there either blocking the kick getting close to blocking a kick so he’s going to be a special teams demon uh like I said he’s a sprinter so kickoff Taylor Made for kinoa Winston so I think he’ll get on the field as a true freshman if he doesn’t get on the field in the secondary he’ll get on the field uh for special teams he is um would have been a favorite of Jim Harbaugh is is the way I would put it all right let’s go with um our next and we’re almost done guys we’re almost to the finish line line here um let’s go with Andrew Mars so finally transitioning back to the offensive side of the ball and we’ve gone a little bit more than an hour I promise we’ll be wrapping up soon Andrew Marsh uh top 100 recruit the number 90 overall Prospect in the country uh Rivals has him at number 114 and on three has him at number 195 so both Rivals and on three have him as a top 200 guy but not a top 100 guy 247 and ESPN both have him as a top 100 guy I have him in the 100 to 125 range here’s the thing about Andrew Marsh he’s six foot and a half 175 he plays bigger than his size he is extremely physical whether it’s run blocking I mean he’s out there on the perimeter just trying to hurt guys uh whether it’s after the catch I mean if you turn on his film he delivers some hellacious stiff arms he is really tough to tackle in open field yards after catch Andrew Marsh definitely racks them up terrific natural pass catcher doesn’t drop passes good length as well really good catch radius uh terrific route Runner he’s been on the recruiting scene forever he’s gotten great training um you know from private coaches so route running releases he has it all from that perspective so why don’t I have him as a Surefire top 100 guy biggest question mark is speed you just don’t see him I mean you see him make plays vertically but he’s not a true burner if that makes sense he’s not going to have gamechanging speed at the same time he checks basically every other box I think Andrew Marsh is going to play early at Michigan the Wolverines obviously need some help in the wide receiver room Marsh can provide that he’s an early enrol Le he’s going to get there for bull practices I think he’s going to turn some heads I think he’ll be a great receiver for you know three to years however long he’s there and I think he’ll you know grow into the go-to target for Bryce Underwood down the line so even though I don’t have him as that Surefire top 100 guy just because he doesn’t have the you know burning speed I think he checks so many other boxes and um just excellent body control as well one of the better in the air wide receivers wins a lot of jump balls I mean just really athletic uh kid too so I think uh with with Mars you’re getting a really uh much needed early contributor in the wide receiver room all right let’s move along quickly to Shamari Earls um everybody knows how much I love Shamari um he is ranked as the number 62 overall recruit in the country he is a top 100 recruit uh by ESPN 247 and on three the only service that doesn’t have him as a top 100 recruit is Rivals which his ranking is absolute garbage they have him listed as a low four star and for the longest time much like kinoa Winston they had him listed as a three star the rivals ranking of Shamari Earls is the biggest rankings travesty of the cycle I cannot believe they had him as a three star for that long and even now that ranking still sucks it’s terrible it’s garbage get that out of here soari ears is a borderline five star on three the number 32 overall recruit in the country and that’s right where he should be I think he’s a five star he is the best corner I’ve covered on this beat since will Johnson like will he’s a tall long physical corner at 62205 the crazy thing about Shamari is at 62205 he’s a big kid a big corner but he doesn’t even look that filled out he can still add some more bulk and uh but what makes Shamari different from will I think will was a little further along from a technical standpoint you know being able to sink his hips and turn and uh just overall technique will was a master at that with Shamari he’s fast man he runs in the 10 sixes in the 100 meter he had one of the best 55 meter times in the state of Virginia and just really great athlete too a Virginia state champion in the long jump one of the top 10 long jumps in the entire country the unfortunate thing about Shamari is he like Nathaniel wub botang missed his senior year but you know going out and watching him at these training sessions seeing his Junior tape there’s a lot to love about Shamari I mean you’re talking about the boxes man are all checked there the the height the length the speed the physicality the athleticism you watch his wide receiver tape I mean he’s fantastic on the offensive side of the ball you’re getting a guy that can come in and be a day one impact player be a freshman um you know star much like will Johnson was so you’re basically getting your will Johnson replacement in Shamari Earls and you know off the field I really like Shamari just great personality great kid he told me he’s going to have his own line of turnover buff so following in will Johnson’s footsteps um you know it’s funny because I when I went and matched Shamari for the first time I uh did the interview with him and I just didn’t get the sense that he loved Michigan which he’ll admit too uh he didn’t like the idea of heading to you know cold weather but he got more comfortable with that idea just grew a really great relationship with Lamar Morgan and I told him that time too I told him um before he made his summer visit I said you know once you go up to Michigan and I’m sure you’ll like it I was like dude I’m from Texas I live in Virginia just like you now and I’m sure you’ll love the Midwest I promise you and so he went up there he really liked it obviously his recruitment was kind of crazy he committed to South Carolina and then flipped to Georgia and then eventually flipped to Michigan and so it was a little wild there but I think at the end of the day Shamari is right where he alongs Michigan is a great fit for him let’s go ahead and move on to our last three prospects and we’re going with Nate Marshall um Nate Marshall is ranked as a top 100 recruit the number 94 overall prospect on on three um ESPN has him as a top 100 recruit Rivals has him as a five star and 247 has them just outside of the top 100 um and I you know mostly agree with 24 I probably have him as a top 125 175 kid the reason being with Nathaniel Marshall um I think he’s more of a tweener type of guy I’m not exactly sure if he’s going to stick at Edge in fact he got moved to defensive lineman um in the on three rankings he has kind of a narrow type of build so I’m not sure how much more weight he’s going to add that’s going to be up to Justin tres he kind of reminds me of Justin matuk who was actually a five-star recruit I believe during my time on the Texas be and matab buuk uh currently plays for the Baltimore Ravens and Justin was very similar to Marshall I thought he was a really good player but I didn’t know exactly where he was going to end up or if he was going to live up to the festar billing um Justin like Nate was around 6 foot4 20 you know 60 65 pounds uh matuk ended up bulking up to over 300 in the NFL uh and like I said obviously played for the Baltimore Ravens I’m not sure he did live up to the five star Billing at Texas A&M but he was obviously a very good player there that’s kind of the same pathway I see for Nate Marshall I’m not sure he’ll be the top 50 guy or the five star that Rivals projects him to be but I think he’ll be a really good player I I’d like to see him probably get some weight on that kind of narrow frame and put him as a fouri even put him as a three Tech depending on how much weight he can carry he’s super athletic he has a great first step um a basketball background he’s really explosive he plays some tight end for uh Fenwick so I mean there’s a lot to like about Nate Marshall too uh but just uh some tweener question marks for me in terms of his recruitment you know obviously it was interesting he committed to Michigan flipped to Auburn and then flipped to Michigan right before Signing Day obviously with Michigan stepping up when it comes to nil they were able to win Marshall back so you know this is a kid that lepito identified very early as the guy he wanted and he was the number one guy on aso’s board they got him back on the class so you know Michigan obviously extremely elated to have Nate Marshall back all right let’s go with Andrew babalola Andrew uh man and I’m sure got a lot of people heated there throughout the recruiting process obviously he had a series of delays and you know wouldn’t talk and nobody really knew what was going on with him and then he ended up committing to Michigan I think his process was a little tiresome just because there were so many delays and you know he would rarely give updates and it was really frustrating but since he’s committed Andrew has given so many great interviews he’s been an open book and he’s been terrific kid to get to know I really like Andrew babalola I would suggest going to uh here our YouTube channel and watching the signing day uh spotlight video I did with him just a really happy kid just genuine kid smart kid obviously uh at one point early in the process was considered a Stanford lean um you know you had Auburn make an nil run but at the end of the day you know Michigan just offered everything he was looking for uh the high Academic School offensive line production and development a little bit of nil and Michigan head coach chro Moore did a fantastic job of personally winning this Recruitment and I think Andrew again just has been really fun to get to know after all those frustrating delays he uh I think is is a guy that’s going to easily make a lot of friends on the team I mean just a great personality um but also a great football player he didn’t even start on varsity until he was a junior comes from an A basketball background didn’t really focus on football what’s really uh impressive about babalola is when you think about that you think this guy’s gonna struggle with the physicality of the game he’s a basketball kid he hasn’t really played he doesn’t really know how to finish blocks like you would think that right but then you turn on the tape and this guy’s just pancaking everybody in sight so the fact that he already has that natural physic Al it and he’s quickly developed the technique um to be able to bend to to stay low to finish blocks like pancaking people is kind of an art um babalola has it down pat already and he’s only played varsity football for two years um and has only focused on football for that basically that same amount of time so when you’re talking about babala he already has that innate physical nature but the basketball background you see it in his feet he’s really athletic he’s a premier left tackle um I think he can play some right early on in his career before moving to left but I mean he’s a left tackle for me all the way he has the height he has the length the athleticism like I said he’s very physical he loves to run block as well um you know he has a a really good frame at 295 I think he can easily you know add another 20 25 pounds there uh so yeah I mean Andrew B is a five- star uh for a reason he is ranked as a five star on on three and 247 he’s top 32 on ESPN so he’ll probably finish as a five star there the only outlier here is Rivals which has him ranked outside of the top 40 um I think he’s a five-star Prospect as well I mean it’s rare to see the natural physicality and just the ability to pick things up so quickly when you’re new to the game to go along with the natural athleticism so Baba checks a lot of boxes for obvious reasons and he’s going to be a premier player uh for Michigan’s offense line and we are finally at the Finish Line guys uh we are at the almost the hour and 20 minute Mark so let’s go ahead and wrap it up with the number one overall Prospect in America and that is Bryce Underwood who obviously had a dramatic late flip to Michigan um obviously that one had a ton going on behind the scenes a mega nil deal and I think the recruitment of Bryce Underwood signified a change it was program altering in the sense that you have your future at the quarterback position but it was also it also signified the change in philosophy a move to the nil era which Michigan was very very hesitant to adapt to uh they put together a big time offer for Underwood uh obviously you had Larry Ellis involved and that helped out a ton but I think Michigan is more willing to play in these new Waters and the Underwood win is kind of the highlight and it’s something that can be pitched to recruits from multiple angles one hey we are willing to play some nil two we have the best quarterback in the country come play with him you know so we three we can open up the offense it won’t just be run run run we have a guy that can come in and throw the ball um and not just sling the ball around the yard he can throw the ball vertically so come play in the offense with him you know there’s a lot to sell with Bryce Underwood as a player you know it’s kind of unfortunate that this all happened late because I wasn’t able to get an updated evaluation of Underwood once he committed to LSU I kind of stopped following him and obviously I didn’t get to see him this season but I saw him a ton as an underclassman and I mean just a big kid 6’4 214 pounds actually younger for his grade too still has a lot of UPS side but I think you can throw him right into the fire I know Michigan is looking for a transfer portal quarterback to kind of be a bit of a bridge but if you have to throw Underwood in as a true freshman I think he can handle it I don’t think it’d be ideal but I think he can handle it and have success he’s going to be when he joins the team for Bowl practices he’ll be the best quarterback on the roster in my opinion I think he has the best arm for sure I’m not sure anybody can really sling the ball downfield like he can maybe Alex can throw it deep but deep ball accuracy Underwood by a mile there um and that’s the thing that really stands out to me about Bryce Underwood you turn on the tape and you see has a rocket arm but he also has good ball placement really good deep ball accuracy um you know great timing as well makes all the throws short to intermediate too um gifted as a runner as well he can extend plays around the pocket but he can also um just take off or you can design runs for him which I think think is going to play really well in chip Lindsay’s offense so yeah I mean Bryce from having that you know Elite arm talent to uh pinpoint accuracy to the mobility I mean every box is checked there’s a reason he’s a number one overall recruit in the country so just an absolute whale of a land for Michigan uh down the stretch now I just want to scroll and make sure we didn’t miss anybody I think we hit on all 23 SES yep I think we covered it all all right guys if you’re still with me thank you for watching I know a lot of you guys enjoy the end of um Signing Day recap so I appreciate y’all for tuning in for this long and hearing my thoughts on all of these guys I don’t pre-write anything this is all off the top of my head so sorry if it’s convoluted um but yeah I mean I just want you guys to get my genuine thoughts on a lot of these guys it’s been a pleasure to get out on the road and get to know some of these kids um and their families I mean you see me light up when I talk about guys like kyoo or Donovan or Kaden or you know guys Shamari guys like that that I really get to know throughout the process I mean um all of those guys were fantastic I think that Michigan is getting a lot of Michigan types of kids uh culture leaders along with their best class since the 2022 class which was the last one to finish in the top 10 um but you know I know obviously I spent a lot of time uh trolling and doing other stupid things but at the end of the day um the my favorite part of the job is just going out and getting to know these kids getting to know their families and just uh being able to tell their stories and uh that’s the reason I got in this job and that’s the reason I’m still in this job from the time I was 19 to now that I’m 33 so you know I uh really think that Michigan um despite all the controversy is my favorite beat still because of the types of kids that Michigan recruits and even in the nil era you know being able to cover you know some of those guys that I just mentioned it brings a lot of joy to me um hopefully they bring a lot of joy to you on the field but I think it’s also important as fans to get to know these kids and you know not just read what I write but listen to what they have to say too I did Signing Day spotlight with a ton of them I did the 100 yards video with Shamari I did a Q&A with uh bang right after he signed with Michigan so all those videos are available here on our YouTube channel I really uh encourage you guys to go watch
