Jeff passon drops a late night bomb for the New York Mets their first offseason signing and we’re going to break it down for [Music] [Applause] you welcome back to mecast friends I am Ray as always and if you like our content please like And subscribe as we always keep you up to date with the latest and greatest of the New York Mets news and we have this late night bomb from Jeff passon and New York Mets have come to an agreement with Cincinnati starting pitcher right-hander Frankie montos and a twoyear $34 million contract pending a physical Montas 31 through 150.2 Innings with a 484 erra for Cincinnati in Milwaukee last year he’s the first piece to be placed in the Mets new rotation and Met fans I don’t want you to be mad be upset I know it’s not the WAN stto signing everybody’s looking for but this is the kind of mov that David Sterns is known for he sees something in a pitchure like he did with manah last year like he did with srino last year and that’s the move that he made that’s the kind of pitches that he likes to bring in I think this signals an end to severino’s Career with the Mets I could be wrong that’s just a gut feeling on me I know they’re still in on manah but if they’re going to be dropping a boatload of money on Juan stto maybe you could bring in a Mont Montas who has been around the wagons let’s be honest he’s been on a lot of teams he was a big Prospect coming up has not worked out but maybe David Stern sees something in this guy that other teams don’t see I mean we’ve seen it the proof is in the puding he did it in Milwaukee he did it with the Mets these are the kind of signings that we could look for I want to bring up his stats his his uh bigger splits from last year let me his stats right here obviously he pitched game three for Milwaukee had a s had an okay start for them four Innings against our New York Mets two runs that’s kind of where we’re at with a guy like him nothing too special but this is the first piece of the Mets rotation so as it sits right now you have kodai S at the top we would like to obviously add another ace to the staff desperately you can’t tell me we’re going up against the Phillies the Braves and the Dodgers with this staff that we have now Montas is probably the fifth starter number four starter probably David Peterson you have kodai sang who I like the pencil in as the number two we really need to get a 1A in here probably another third starter I could see it coming via trade things are starting to get heated up on the WAN sto front we heard earlier today we expect juano to be signed probably later this week into early the following week but that’s where we’re at right now let me know what you guys think of the signing I know a lot of you guys are going to say David Sterns doesn’t know what he’s doing cheap David Sterns yada yada but at the end of the day he brings in a guy who’s going to throw innings for us he is kind of a shot in the dark but you never know what Jeremy Hefner and this pitching staff can these pitching coaches can do to help the Mets into this season let me know what you guys think down in the comments and if anything else drops we’ll be sure to bring it to you as always thank you for supporting the channel till next time take care
