we have some breaking news in the NHL we just got a news on a big trade between the Colorado Avalanche and the San Jose Sharks they have swapped goalies uh obviously uh on the move here on the road so uh getting a car video for this breaking news here today uh so we know this the Avalanche have been in the market for upgrading their go tending they’ve uh done that here hopefully they’ve traded Alexander gorv along with kovalenko in a fifth and sixth round pick to the shark for McKenzie Blackwood javanni Smith and a fifth round pick so Smith just cleared waivers so the uh the Avalanche will be able to assign him to their minor league affiliate of course he’s uh you know good size uh tough character for sure uh they can use probably later on in the season when the opportunity calls for it Blackwood has uh done well with the sharks I mean obviously great asset management there by Mike Greer picked up Blackwood I think it was only he paid what a six round pick and now he turns him into to another goalie and uh you know pretty good young player in kovalenko uh obviously kovalenko has history with his dad being former NHL and former avalanch here as well so certainly U you know good upgrade here for the uh the Avalanche the Sharks not worry about contending right now get some good return on Blackwood uh see if they can rehab Georgia I mean they they were able to help Blackwood with overcome his struggles that he was dealing with with New Jersey and uh you know said pretty good asset management so we’ll see if Blackwood can be a nice upgrade here over goria cu the Avalanche certainly feel like they can contend and there’s been a number of games this year where the gold hunting has let them down so they started with georgev and anonin and now they’re both gone we saw both these guys now traded of course Wedgewood come in from the Predators uh just uh last week so another Avalanche goalie trade trying to find the right mix to save their season and still be able to contend here so let me know your thoughts on this trade uh down in the comments and we’ll discuss further I’ll be back later with another news video to recap the rest of the news and rumors around the entire league so thanks for watching let me know your thoughts on the street in the comments and I’ll catch you next time
