all right welcome back everybody to football scorecast we’ve got a really interesting Deep dive for you all today yeah some big news big news coming out of the championship yeah definitely so uh for those of you who haven’t heard mil Wall’s head coach Neil Harris is stepping down after their match against middlesburg yeah this weekend so big match big match coming up but um you know obviously a lot of folks are going to be kind of wondering what’s going on there for sure and you know mil wall they’re sitting I think middle of the table right now yeah 11th yeah so you know kind of mid-table mediocrity exactly yeah not really in any danger the relegation battle not the relegation battle but not really pushing for playoffs either right exactly so it’s um it’s a little bit curious you know the timing it is it is curious especially because um you know Neil Harris this is actually his second time this is his second stin with the club yeah his second stin with the club and uh he had led them to a 13th Place finish previously and then came back earlier this year right and you know what’s really interesting is he signed a contract through June 2025 yeah so this is way early way early to be leaving to be stepping down yeah so that uh that’s definitely raising some eyebrows for it is it is it begs the question like what happened what’s going on yeah what what’s the real story yeah and I mean their performance this season has been you know a bit up and down yeah a bit of a roller coaster roller coaster yeah they’ve had a you know a recent winless streak right and then you know that centry match oh don’t don’t even get me started on that where they didn’t manage a single shot on target it’s shocking it’s pretty pretty rough right yeah absolutely so um but it does seem like at least from from what we’re seeing it was Harris’s decision yeah looks like it statement I mean James barrelson himself said he accepted Harris’s decision right so it doesn’t look like there was any pressure from the board or anything like that no no not at all interesting all right so so what’s next for them yeah what’s next right well they’re already looking for a new coach that’s for sure full swing full swing yeah g to announce an inter manager after the middlesbor map right right after the weekend yeah but you know I thought it was really interesting what the director of football uh Steve Gallen said oh yeah he made this comment about how the club has a clear Direction and that the next head coach will play a pivotal role h a clear Direction yeah I wonder what the is Right makes you wonder what what is that clear Direction I mean are they looking to really push for promotion next season it’s possible are they focusing on developing younger Talent maybe they’re going to overhaul their whole style you know yeah maybe they’re going to go TIY taka all of a sudden who knows who knows lots of possibilities lots of possibilities so that’s what makes it you really intriguing so so if you were in charge you know what qualities would you look for in this new head coach I mean do they need a tactical genius is who can turn things around quickly I mean that would be great that’ be fantastic but do they need a motivator you know to get the most out of their current Squad yeah yeah I mean there’s a lot of options or maybe someone to you know develop those younger players right right someone’s got a track record there exactly I mean it’s a really tough call it is because they’re kind of in this middle ground right right they’re not in Dire Straits but they’re also not really you know they’re not excelling they’re not excelling right so I think based on gon’s statement and that emphasis on a pivotal role they probably need someone who can do a little bit of everything you know yeah I’d agree with that I think they need someone who can bring some tactical discipline some fresh ideas yeah yeah someone who can nurture the young talent that they have and someone who can create that winning mentality yeah right exactly it’ll be fasinating to see who they bring in you know this could be a real turning point for mil wall For Better or Worse what do you think list what qualities would you prioritize maybe you’ll spot the next big managerial star before anyone else does you never know that’s right all right that’s going to do it for us today on football scorecast thanks for joining us and we’ll see you next time for another Deep dive see ya
