quickly so you know they didn’t to wait long um you know it’s I think it’s a I think it’s a good pickup it’s going to solidify their their starting rotation um this good pitching I like it left-handed pitcher so let’s see what the Yankees do next I know they were in conversations with uh Christian Walker so um and yeah L I agree Max freed under 30 million is disgustingly great 27 aav give me that 27 million over eight years I am taking that all day every day absolutely massive this is what we needed it’s going to be a nice slot behind Cole pushes rodon to the number three I love it yeah I do especially love the fact that you know assuming assuming that um assuming that that’s the case that Fred is going to be the number two guy in the rotation I I will welcome that all day if they do put um uh rodone in the number three spot um I you know what sign me up man sign me up that’s gonna put that’s GNA put less pressure on a guy like uh Carlos rone and I think he he’ll Thrive well on in the uh the number three spot yeah absolutely um I’m going to just say a quick thing before I get out of here yeah but I just wanted to say that this Max for each signing sets them up even better because now they can go out they wanted to sign Corbin Burns they could if not and they wanted to go out and get Kyle Tucker by all means go do it but now they are in a much better position than they were 24 hours ago so I love it it’s a great move it’s really nice to see pivot quickly and get it done and like I said Juan who we don’t need that we got what we needed yeah um you know P pitching seems to be the thing the big thing that they were focusing on they got their guy they got Max freed on an eight-year Deal $218 million deal um you know uh sign me up man sign me up and let’s see what El let’s meetings it just broke I know you guys are already talking about it eight years but for the past hour right it was rumored that the Yankees were or the offer was at seven years not sure if it was just the Yankees or the Red Sox or whoever else but it seems like the Yankees came in at the last moment and threw in that extra year with a little bit of extra money as well so they’re not playing now no they’re not playing they are not playing there Hector and I appreciate you jumping on uh and letting and kind of filling Us in um are you H H how are things going in Texas man tell us about your experience with the winter meetings man let um talk to us a little bit about that uh it’s it’s first of all you know I couldn’t pass up an opportunity to be on a live stream where Mikey Maza is showing up his armpit in his kitchen you know I miss my guy Mikey ma shout out Mike um no but the experience has been awesome bro um meeting so many different people um Jeff passon John Haymon a lot of the guys that we grew up watching or listening to as young Baseball fans right Joe Surman um Andy Martino um these guys are amazing Bob Nightingale Bob Nightingale he has the the battery of a college frat boy Bob Nightingale is hilarious um no it’s it’s a great time again meeting different people I I was able to meet Billy Martin Sun had a conversation with him Billy Martin Sun works as an agent um so he was here with his player I was able to talk to him it it’s just been great man networking different people um it’s just great good man I’m I’m I’m very glad and I’m glad you got the opportunity to go out there and do your thing um you’re that great for you man I’m I’m very happy for you and Maza I know you gotta head out here pretty soon so um yeah anything else you want to say before you leave no man I’m just happy to about the max fre signing yeah the max freed signing is um fantastic that was sorry sorry my my my internet’s a bit wonky because I guess everybody’s on it right now sorry no you’re all good you’re all good um as far as yeah as far as like other bats go Hector or other players I mean are you what are what are you hearing since you’re out there I mean I figured I’d ask yeah from from the from who I’ve been talking to um obviously everything has been off the record for most of it but the priority was Max freed after after the Juan sto uh uh contract signing with the Mets the Yankees PRI prioritize Max free um when it comes to starting pitching and once the max free domino Falls then you start hearing the rumbles about are the Yankees going to trade for Cody Bellinger are the Yankees GNA sign Christian W now those gears start moving right so after the Juan stto Fiasco the Yankees wanted to make their number one priority was Max free to make sure they had a ace to go behind gar Co then adding on to the offense all right all right so as far as we know we know the Yankees need a bat maybe two bats right um obviously uh first base is a need you know Christian Walker’s name has been mentioned a lot um there was some talks of them talking with the Cubs about trading for Cody Bellinger uh what’s has there been any progress being made on that or what what’s going on with that the initial Monday was like the official first day um even though I was here Sunday but on Monday at the beginning of the day everyone’s Focus was Cody Bellinger everybody’s Focus was Cody Bellinger Cody Bellinger Cody Bellinger and then it started shifting towards tasar Hernandez and then after um the general manager and manager from the Astros spoke there was a sense that the Astros are are are trying to hit the reset button right so KY tuck is going to be a free agent after this upcoming season so that’s a guy that they look to unload to try to get something back as they go into like a transitional period even though they would they were solid this past year they started off slow and they caught fire I’m not sure if they’re convinced that they could re uh replicate what they did last year in the second half yeah yeah I I mean there there’s like all sorts of news and stories coming out rumors coming out I mean this is what happens during the winter meetings I’m just happy that uh you know we’re start things are starting to heat up right that hot s is heating up and um you know I’m glad the Yankees struck you know they struck right away after stto signed with the Mets I’m glad that they um didn’t wait around and they just they went right into it so um let’s see you know let’s see what happens I’m glad that they got freed but I’m curious to see if they’re going to be able to you know if they’re in if they’re in talks with Chicago about training for Bellinger if they’re going to sign Christian Walker you know I know those two names have been heavily mentioned I mean Kyle Tucker man how awesome would that be if they were be able to trade for Kyle Tucker there Hector if if you’re trading with Kyle Tucker first of all if you’re trading for a player like Kyle Tucker he’s gonna demand more back in return than Cody Bellinger because Cody Bellinger it’s a salary dump he has some injury history so I’m not sure if you could try to maximize the most you can get out of him the one one person that I spoke to here and they brought up a name that I know most Yankee fans not going to want to trade and it wasn’t Jason Dominguez it was Luis Hill because the Astros they want starting pitching back and whatever trade they make with for Cal Tucker so you got to ask yourself Yankee fans are you willing to trade Luis Hill and send them to the Houston Astros and face him over the next four to five potentially six years if that more you that’s a question you got to ask yourself um if you’re if you’re willing to trade Luise Hill you would rather trade him to a team in the National League preferably in the west coast so you don’t have to see him that much if you got to bite the bullet trade him but I’m somebody that I don’t want to give up on Luis Hill he just won the AL rookie of the Rookie of the Year the first Yankee starting pitcher to win the Rookie of the Year since the 80s so I’m not giving up on Hill yeah I I do agree with you on that one man as much as I do love uh Kyle Tucker this is we also have a a good pitch a great pitcher in Luis Hill like you said he won Rookie of the Year um I don’t know if I’m able if I’m ready to part ways with him I I I don’t know if I’m if I’m ready man because he was a big contributor in that starting rotation especially during gar Cole’s absence and um I I think things are you know I I think with him being in the rotation you need him in that rotation especially with the with the addition of Max freed shout out shout out to my guy my guy future just text me right now extra Ace to appear next to Gar Cole now you got two guys at the top of your rotation that’s if they’re healthy that’s the question it could be a formidable onew Punch Yeah I mean the way I see it is hey you know you couldn’t you couldn’t sign Juan sto then hey let’s let’s beef up that pitching and I I think um I think getting a starting I think getting a starting pitcher was um necessary even with Juan stto even let’s just say if the Yankees did sign Juan sto Hector I still said that the Yankees could can use a a starter um because I I I wasn’t feeling comfortable going in with the starting rotation um with uh with this current rotation that they had before they added freed so no I I’m I’m I’m in agreeance with you um sorry if if my service get a little bit choppy I’m about to walk to a place like the the the the service is like dead I gotta go grab my bag but no um I’m with you uh when you look at Max free and Corbin burns when you when you try to weigh out which one would you rather Trust on this type of deal I’d rather trust Max freed right both both Burns and Max fre is some injury concerns but when you look at free his injuries have been more of blisters right an oblique issue that he had if I’m not mistaken so it’s not an elbow it’s not a shoulder problem it’s more just just random injuries that come um here and there so I like Corbin Burns I wish him the best I just I just feel that Corbin Burns he’s been declining a little bit on his stats over the past three years his walk rate has been up strikeout rate has been down the velocity on his fast ball it started a fall down as well I’d rather just trust Max freed knowing that his injuries are in elbow or show the related facts yeah no facts and I’m I’m happy with the max fre signing I I really am I’m glad the Yankees got him question now is you know um do the Yankees trade either anesta Cortez or Marcus strowman do they do they trade either uh both of those guys if if you’re trading either one of them it’s not going to be to the Cubs because the Cubs they’re trying to do a fire cell like the like the Marlins um they’re not trying they aren’t from what heard again I’m not in the front office or anything like that from what from what I heard it’s you know they’re not willing to take back any contracts they’re just trying to unload whatever contracts they have on the books so for Yankee fans that thought hey we could call out the Cubs and send them DJ lameu or Marcus strowman and bring back Cody Bellinger that that that’s not a reality right yeah yeah I’m I’m just wondering now like with the addition of Max freed to the rotation what they’re going to do with that rotation what’s going to happen with Marcus strowman what’s going to happen with Nester Cortez uh I’m curious to I’m curious to see one of those guys need I mean they got to get traded I feel like it’s kind of in inevitable that it needs to that needs to happen no it’s it’s it’s definitely GNA happen it’s just it’s not a question of if it’s a question of when right is it going to happen sooner rather than later now that the Yankees signed Max freed I you know I I think the next move that would to happen if I was to put money down on it is a bat what kind of bat I’m not sure right I think that I think they add a bat first before trading Marcus strowman or Nessa Cortez or if they add a bat while trading either one of the two that’s another possibility also yeah I think now you know uh they got Max freed I think like you said they’re gonna get a bat I that’s going to be their next move I I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s Christian Walker because that name has been heavily talked about and S and the Yankees have had conversations with him so um I could see maybe like a like a three-year deal maybe or two or three year deal for for uh for Christian Walker is what I’m imag is what I’m you know predicting what do you think uh I I would say that yes yesterday right but seeing that the Yankees they gave Max free I thought Max would be six years they gave Max fre a eight-year deal so yesterday probably a three-year deal would have been reality for for Christian Walker now that we’re living in this present post Max freed I think I think it’ll probably be a 5year deal for Christian bringing him to age 38 I mean 35 yeah 38 yeah because he’s going to be he’s 34 He’s 33 right now he’s 33 turn 34 during the season right right right and you know I when uh when the whole Max freed uh conversation was was was uh happening um I said seven years at 200 million so that’s I saying s but it went 28 for eight and I’m like all right you know 27 million aav they it was under 30 million so that’s not a bad that’s that’s not a bad deal and especially when you look at like he’s he’s making the same amount of money that Carlos rodone is making yeah literally the same so that that’s not a bad deal and and that’s what it is now look look what Marcus strowman is making 188 million but he still gives you 150 Innings this is the new market for starting pitching oh it it is it is and uh real quick I do want to shout out referee 583 because he did buy me three coffees so referee 583 thank you so much yeah Joel freed NE freed uh next is Walker or Tucker uh man if they if they were to get Tucker I oh my God sign me up man sign me up and um I would I would love to I I would love if thean were able to uh trade for Kyle Tucker and if they could sign him to an extension even better and you know Hector was in here earlier he asked if um you know if anybody would sign uh or anybody would trade Luis Hill right I I don’t know if if it’s gonna take like a Lis Hill but would you trade a Lis Hill for uh for a Kyle Tucker and I you know I was looking at the comments I know a couple of you have said that um that you know if if if Tucker was to sign an extension that makes it a little bit more um you know it’s a little more tempting but I don’t want to trade Luis Hill I do not want to trade Luis Hill personally so you know the Yankees could wait for Kyle Tucker to hit free agency who knows I wouldn’t man personally I I I wouldn’t I don’t know that I would he he was an important piece in that rotation he got he got rookie of the year um you know especially in Cole’s absence he was he was absolutely killing it so um I don’t know that I I I want to trade Luis Hill there Joel what about you yeah D Rod saying only way to trade tuck for Tucker have an extension I mean it’s it makes it a little bit more tempting no doubt uh you would trade Schmidt before Hill yeah I’m kind of with you on that I’m kind of with you on that um I’m kind of with you on that so Joel you would okay understood I understand you know um it’s not something I would do personally but if other folks feel that way if um they would they’re not going to do Cortez man there is no way they’ll I mean I listen I would do Cortez for Tucker all day all night every day like I would make that trade but it’s not going to Happ happen they they won’t they won’t do Cortez for uh Tucker there’s no way all right and Jonathan filling Us in here Joel Sherman uh so freed received a full no trade clause the contract has no opt outs or defs interesting okay so he’s got a full node trade clause I hate the full node trade clause but hey you know sometimes that’s what it takes to get a deal done um but interesting that there are no opt outs or def I mean deferrals I wasn’t expecting deferrals I’m not surprised about that but I I expected maybe a deferral but then again he is 31 years old so we have that we got to take that into consideration and uh referee my man he’s been a member for three months shout out to you uh he says Yankees could get Robert uh Luis Junior from Chicago White Socks yeah um L yeah there Luis Roberts yeah that that’s a name that um has been mentioned by Yankees fans do they do they go after him um I don’t know you know I I I don’t I don’t see it personally I could see a trade for Cody Bellinger um do I see a trade for Kyle Tucker I don’t see it happening but maybe maybe we’ll be surprised maybe the Yankees will surprise us but we’ll we’ll just have to we’ll just have to wait and see you know so um but right now I’m just happy that the Yankees made a move and they made a great move in signing um in signing Max freed I’m I’m very very happy about that move so um good good for the Yankees a good solid starting pitcher so good for NF I mean his you’re not gonna you’re gonna have to give up a lot man I don’t come cheap uh I I believe so yeah I believe he’s got some injury issues no doubt man so I think um yeah you know I don’t know if the Yankees I know they got I know they got uh Max freed who’s had injuries in the past but um you know but to me I think I think I think I think he’ll be fine you know if you sign Walker and get Bellinger they can wait for Tucker next off season right yeah they could they could do that they could do that but if they if they get the thing is if they get Bellinger right and if they put him if they put him in the Outfield um he does have a player option after the 2025 season he could opt back in I mean How likely can they get I mean How likely would it be that they would go after Kyle Tucker in the in the in free agency what’s up Ken how’s it going yeah I mean if Dominguez is going to be your starting outfielder he’s probably going to be um yeah he should be in center field uh judge is gonna play right field that’s what it’s looking like as of right now um that’s what Brian Cashman said that judge is probably gonna be moving back to to right field and that makes perfect sense uh it makes perfect sense um I I I like judging rightfield I do okay not that he’s plays bad in center field but I’m more comfortable with him playing right so um but I think he hates being in Chicago that’s part of the reason are you talking about Luis Robert Jr yeah that that could be it I mean that could be that could be the case I I just don’t know if the Yankees are looking into um somebody like him or trading baller with one year left is easier keep him and have Tucker and belly together in the outfield for one year I feel that but [Music] then what happens with judge what happens with Dominguez like what happens with those guys oh yeah I mean if Bellinger has a big year I mean absolutely let him walk I mean for sure then you know you could go after you could go after a a a Kyle Tucker right but the qu the question question is though are you know if the Yankees were to trade for Bellinger would they would they put him at first base or would would they put him in the Outfield I mean he plays both I mean I would imagine the way things are progressing right now during this during this uh offseason with the winter meetings it sounds like the Yankees are in some uh deep talks with um you know with with with Christian Walker it sounds like they’re you know it sounds like I don’t know if they’re how close they are in getting a deal done but um something it sounds like something is in the works they’re negotiating they’re talking um they’re talking and there has been some talks about about Cody Bellinger as well so I know there’s some teams that are probably that are besides the Yankees that are interested in Cody Bellinger so um you know let’s let’s see what happens but yeah he is better in the Outfield but the fact of the matter is the fact that he could play um first base I mean uh it is it is it is um reassure it is good to know you know so you know the Yankees do have a need at first Kyle Tucker probably finishing the season out finishing 2025 as a Houston Astro and then he’s gonna he’s going to test a test a free agent market and he’s going to get he’s going to get a Payday that to ground out fine by me fine by me strike them out ground them out pop them out I I don’t care so long as as long as you’re getting the opposing team out that’s all I care about there was something mentioned I forgot who mentioned it it might have been Ken um I think he’s got a little bit of a character issue or like an attitude problem or something I’m not sure though also I I I think he did um he made some progress this season there’s still areas for him to improve hopefully he improves in his third year um we got to give Dominguez that same kind of chance let’s see let’s see what he’s made of you know we got to see what he’s made of so yeah we’ll just have to wait and see but uh yeah I wantan to I I want to see we got to see what Dominguez is like yeah yeah I did see yeah Cashman did say that Oakley Turner long time no see man good to see you in the chat he says uh I’d want an extension on Tucker if we give up hill plus others but intered team may help in dealing with Houston maybe the Cubs will help if we take Bell’s contract off their hands I mean yeah if you’re G to trade Hill and you’re you and Hill uh Tucker can agree to an extension I might you know that that might be a little more tempting to to make that trade but I’m not sure well I’m sure they’re I’m sure they’re uh working on it um I think they’re gonna I mean strowman Cortez Trevino I I think they’re G to try and find a way to uh trade these guys I think strowman’s gonna be on the trading block I think he’s the he’s GNA be the guy to go um and Cortez I I could see Cortez getting traded too um you know
