🕵️‍♂️ Transcript:

okay breaking news here today Merry Christmas Derek lone you have been fired along with Bob Boer the assistant and head coach of the Detroit Red Wings in exchange Todd mclen has been named the brand new head coach of the Red Wings he will not be an inter term he signed a multi-year contract with the team so interesting news here obviously um we talked about for a while on videos on the podcast a lot on this channel about how the Redwing needed to fire Derek lone if they wanted to make a swift turnaround to this season again we’re almost halfway through the year at the end of this season the Red Wings would have missed the playoffs for nine straight seasons and it was pretty clear that they needed to at least make a change or try and make an effort to make a change and they end up going out here and finally doing that and I think it’s probably the right move I’m going to be honest no disrespect to Derrik alone but I think almost anything is better than the system that he had in place so this was something that needed to be done 100% And I like mlen I don’t know if it’s the best idea to cycle coaches around like recycle them again I’m a little bit against that but I still think overall it’s a good move for the Red Wings because I like mclen I like what he did with the LA Kings and he got them out of that rebuild and got the back into the playoffs which is something that Detroit kind of needs they kind of need a coach where they can can get them out of a rebuild and then maybe after they get into the playoffs maybe then you will go out and get another coach who may be more competent than Todd mlen overall but I still think excuse me above all this is a great move for the Red Wings we will see where it goes again maybe under someone like mlen the offense will get better um the defense will improve again mlen runs the system he ran this system with LA the the 131 system I think it was or the one two to I’m not 100% sure which one it was but he ran that defensive system and it really worked for a pretty long stretch of time it got them into the playoffs at the very least but again he needs to learn to like adjust systems and things like that but we’ll see how we can do with Detroit Detroit I think is a very offensively capable team and I think that with someone like mlen maybe you’ll see this massive Boost from the team and maybe they’ll get back into the playoffs because they’re really not that far out when you look at the grand scheme of things so know your thoughts in the comment section down below thank you guys very much for watching if you enjoy make sure to let me know your thoughts in the comment section Down Below on your thoughts on this firing and hiring by the Red Wings not often we get to talk about Detroit but whenever we do I always love to but anyways leave a like subscribe down below if you’re new and I will see you guys in the next video
