years old and he has been at the top of his game and pairing with Garrett Cole at the top of the Yankees rotation is going to make for a very formidable du in the Bronx next season and well beyond the contact so the Yankees do need to and they were already going to do this but they do need to shore up the infield defense I don’t know if you want to leave Jazz Chism at third base uh maybe they’ll go out and sign a third baseman maybe they’ll trade for one we’ve heard Nan nado’s name out on the trading block maybe they’d go out and make a move there uh second base gaver Torres departed in free agency but look it’s going to be very important to put a good defensive infield behind a guy like freed and if they do he is a stud and he’s going to be worth well well worth every penny here it’s just a matter of going out and getting a good infield defense behind them to field those ground balls and again the Yankees needed to do that anyway because when everything unraveled for them in the World Series it was their infield defense in that five run inning for the Dodgers all right who’s happy today and who sees this deal and goes oh like like I’m not saying winners and losers but you know whether it’s these guys a you know this agent this free agent you know who’s happy that they see this and who goes oh no carbin Burns is happy right now you know he’s arguably a better pitcher than Max freed he is a righty there’s more right-handed hitters than left-handed hitters he has a little bit more of a Workhorse ability he has a lot more Innings pitched over the last several years years than Max freed so if you’re Corbin Burns and you were already thinking seven years 20000 million now you see the eight for over 200 now as your Burns you’re and his agent you’re going oh hey we might get nine we might even get 10 we might get up to 250 million so I think Burns is sitting pretty loser may be Red Sox right now because they were in The woto Sweep Stakes to the end with the Yankees and the Mets they lost out on stto they went to Pivot to Freed and there were reports that they were right in to the end on freed and they lose out to the Yankees so maybe the Red Sox but that might also be temporary maybe the Red Sox go out and bull over carbon carbon Burns now and it’s a good match there but for right now the Red Sox yeah and uh I do think we all knew pretty much that Fred was going to be leaving the Braves but I do think that their rotation is pretty thin right now behind Chris S we’ll see how it looks with Spencer Strider once he comes back from his injury that cost him almost all of last season we’ll see how schwellenbach holds up but I do feel like the Braves rotation is a little thin right now all right I I say to you take a piece of paper and a pen start at one and write down the best pitchers in the American League starting pitchers you know you get Garrett Cole you know you write whoever how many names are you writing down before you write down Max freed approximately to give him a little context of how good he is in the American League for maybe American League fans that don’t you know they’ve heard the name they know he’s a brave they know he’s good but where is he if Burns signs in the American League I think four if he doesn’t I think three you’ve got Terk scoel who I believe is going to be the best pitcher in the American League again next year and I’m still going to go back to the Garrett colewell a full season of Health there with Cole I will rank him above Burns and Fred but I don’t have anybody else above e anybody above Fred so it’s he’s either three or four depending on where Burns signs all right so the Yankees are going to try to do it with starting pitcher because if you’re telling me they got two of the top three starters that are currently in the American League all right there we go so you know one 41 home runs gooss Town Cole yeah they didn’t even get a full season from Cole they got 29 starts from strowman 30 from Cortez they might not even be in the rotation next year it’s going to be starting pitching for the Yankees all right there you go excellent job great context Matt Snyder getting it
