[Music] what’s going on Jes uh some mildly surprising news this morning as the Vikings have waved a Caleb Evans uh rap sheet go the Vikings are waving quarterback of Caleb Evans I just said that uh perme and Mike Galo a bit of a surprise for the 2022 draft piic who has 17 starts and play special teams uh which is kind of oxymoronic anyways but with a major roster crunch Minnesota makes a tough cut now uh roster crunch is you know Gabriel Murphy his 21-day return to practice window uh ends and they may want to add him to the 53 man rooster uh but Evans I feel like this is a spot where the Vikings you know needed roster space as well as Evans probably not happy with his role on special teams and you know probably you know thinks that he he can have a better opportunity somewhere else and you know the Vikings are you know glad to give it to him so you wishing 21 the best and it kind of stinks about a Caleb Evans CU he has all the potential in the world I think that’s why 100% he’s going to maybe not get claimed uh but he’ll get signed up here very quickly and he’ll be on another team to finish out the year because you he’s got size uh he’s got athletic ability fourth round pick out of maou formerly at Tulsa Tulsa King baby and he uh like rapi mentioned he did start 17 games over his Vikings career including 15 in 2023 now he he was benched several times uh by Flores and ronte Jones so it just didn’t quite work out uh and it’s one of the reasons why the Vikings would Harden in the paint at quarterback this off season but he did show promise as a rookie in 2022 but remember he had three concussions uh and the Vikings ultimately put him on Andrew deserve I think that did put him uh a little bit behind the eightball there but ands Vikings career uh with 90 tackles nine passes broken up four Force fumbles in uh 32 career games uh but was mainly playing special teams uh this season and of course Evans being part of the 2022 draft class as Moy and foso yeah the quacy haters will just always point at this one just like yeah I mean it it is what it is right uh seen gone Booth gone Ingram benched asima was was speculated to be traded at the deadline uh but also a backup Evans gone AI long gone Tai Chandler deota running back three Verdan low was traded he caught a touchdown the other week though for the Patriots Jaylen Speedy Naylor having drops and Nick Muse coming back Nick Muse is the best player from this class or I guess right would be so I don’t know but like I said you know it’s very easy just to go to the well and be like quaky bo bo but he has gotten better but you know the Baseline was kind of low uh secondary wise Vikings will be perfectly fine you got the veterans uh who are in front of Evans and Gilmore Griffin murf I probably should take Evans off this anyways they got Dwight nudy mcglothan the udfa who made the 53 come on Dwight come on Dwight come on Dwight so I I free nudie free nudie mlo also you do have the veteran Fabian Maro in that mix you have Nan Wright who came over from the Cowboys in the U Andrew Bo Jr trade on the practice squad uh plus secondary wise uh Theo Jackson could play some slot Jay Ward uh they’ve worked at outside corner during the training camp as well as uh Me and Bobby McCay as in the mix as well so they’re not uh they don’t have a shortage of dudes who could play uh at corner uh so that’s probably one of the reasons why they’re comfortable you know waving a Caleb Evans at this point but you know it didn’t work out here uh but I’m rooting for a Caleb Evans seems like a good dude wishing 21 uh the best and you know the Vikings free up roster spot uh in the interim but uh that’s it your thoughts our thoughts uh Vikings wave quarterback kale Evans let us know your thoughts our thoughts comment section you know what to do skull production value
