Andrés Giménez Trade: In a strategic move, the Cleveland Guardians traded Andrés Giménez to the Toronto Blue Jays alongside RHP Nick Sandlin. In return, Cleveland received 1B/2B Spencer Horwitz and minor league OF Nick Mitchell. This trade was partly motivated by Giménez’s increasing salary and his performance not matching his 2022 All-Star year, allowing Cleveland to shed salary while acquiring young talent. For the Blue Jays, Giménez’s elite defensive skills come with the hope of reigniting his offensive potential.
Spencer Horwitz Trade: Shortly after acquiring him from Toronto in the Giménez trade, the Cleveland Guardians traded Spencer Horwitz to the Pittsburgh Pirates. In exchange, the Guardians got RHP Luis Ortiz, LHP Michael Kennedy, and LHP Josh Hartle. This move showcased Cleveland’s strategy to prioritize pitching depth in their farm system. For the Pirates, Horwitz represents a versatile infielder with potential to contribute both at the plate and in the field.
Max Fried Yankees Contract: Max Fried, the left-handed pitcher from the Atlanta Braves, signed an 8-year, $218 million contract with the New York Yankees. This signing was a significant acquisition in the free-agent market, aimed at bolstering the Yankees’ rotation alongside pitchers like Gerrit Cole and Carlos Rodon. Fried’s track record as a two-time All-Star brings both experience and talent to a team looking to dominate in the competitive AL East.
Jake Burger Trade: The Miami Marlins traded Jake Burger, a power-hitting infielder, to the Texas Rangers. In return, Miami received INF prospects Echedry Vargas and Max Acosta, along with minor league pitcher Brayan Mendoza. The trade was part of the Marlins’ strategy to rebuild their farm system with young talent. For the Rangers, Burger’s addition injects significant power into their lineup, potentially contributing to their offensive strategy as they aim to compete in the postseason.

this recap is going to be an alltime recap because we have breaking news that Juan sto might have left the Bronx for a petty almost comical reason and staying with the Yankees their pivot is officially in motion they just gave Max freed a record amount of money Nathan avaldi he just signed a pretty fat contract as well Jake Burger who was a monster in the second half he got traded so did Andres jnez the Platinum Glover and gar crochet as I was recording this intro Garett crochet got traded with the package has not been revealed yet so we might have to wait until tomorrow’s upload to talk about this deal in depth but so much is happening right now before we start the recap I just want to remind you guys these take a ton of work like an ungodly amount of work and research so let’s start off by leaving a like And subscribe and don’t forget to use code fuzzy on seek and Underdog fantasy Juan SoDo allegedly had beef with the Yankees because they would not gift him a free suite for his family whereas Steve Cohen and the Mets literally gave him a free Suite so this stems back all the way to Derek Jeter if you guys don’t remember Derek Jeter he got a lot of money with the Yankees but he was never gifted a free Suite as an incentive to stay with New York same with Aaron judge both Aaron judge and Derek Jeter had to pay out of their own Pockets or at a discount rate I think Aaron judge was either a 50% off or Derek jeta was a 50% off if none of them were that’s my mistake but I heard through the great finds that they got discounts whereas the Mets and wotto they just gave him a free Suite again it’s Petty it’s almost comical it sounds stupid but Wan sto the reports are that he’s a big family guy so yeah he’s going to get more money and a free Suite going to the Mets now going back to the Yankees they have officially pivoted and their pivot starts with an 8-year contract $218 million for Max Reed the former Ace of the Braves and by the way this is the most ever given out to a left-handed pitcher the Yankees just for some context they have to Forfeit not just one but two draft picks you have Max freed as a two-time qualifying offer candidate he rejected both of those and one more wrinkle as well their first two years of Max Street’s contract so 2025 and 2026 he’s only I’m going to put this in air quotes only getting $12 million but there’s a $10 million signing bonus for each year to bring 2025 and 2026 to 22 million per but the extra 10 doesn’t affect the luxury tax or the salary stuff so keep that in mind it’s a pretty smart move a fiscally responsible move from the Yankees who are running their team like a business whereas Steve Cohen a lot of people are saying he’s running his team like a fan with a ton of money it’s kind of fun now back to Max Reed his stuff is disgusting he hovers around 94 on the fastball but we’ve seen him get it up to 98 mph when he wants to he has a ridiculous 2.8 year race since 2020 he’s won three gold gloves he’s been top two sa young twice in his career already so when your rotation can go Garett Cole Max freed Carlos rodon Luis Hill and Clark Schmidt that is as formidable As It Gets In terms of stuff because they all throw incredibly hard and they have nasty offs speed stuff what do you do now with Nester Cortez and Marcus strowman strowman wasn’t even used in the playoffs what about the top prospect will Warren the Yankees are about to make a plethora of moves in my opinion and even if they don’t let’s say that Max freed and Christian Walker are their only pivots that they make after losing wodo they’re going to free up a lot of money for next year’s crop of free agents like KY Tucker or Vladimir guo Jr one more thing before we talk about the Andre Jimenez and Jake Berger trades apparently the A’s were in on Max freed and it’s not like they’re super interested in all these guys because they’re trying to win a World Series in 2025 maybe they are I have no idea I don’t think they are but the reports are that they’re trying to avoid a grievance from the rest of Major League Baseball essentially the teams can say the A’s aren’t trying to win baseball games they’re not spending any money and we’re giving them money for free so to avoid a grievance the A’s are trying to give money to a ton of different free agents including Louis saino he got overpaid Max Reed the reports are that the A’s were in on him as well they’re trying I guess but again it’s kind of a facade they’re trying to avoid a grievance in my opinion also the Red Sox allegedly offered Max freed 7 years $190 million they lost out on a lefty and they got another Lefty and Garrett crochet but because we don’t know the package right now we got to talk about Garrett in another video Cleveland made a flurry of moves Andre jenez the Platinum Glover is officially on the move to Toronto along with him Nick San the kind of sidearmor lever he’s going to the Blue Jays in exchange for Spencer Horwitz and Nick Mitchell a young Prospect now we’ll talk about Spencer hortz in a second because he was a Cleveland Guardian for all of 13 seconds Andes thank you Toronto for taking this has got a a contract off our hands he’s owed almost $100 million for the next five seasons yes he’s a platinum Glover I say this from the bottom of my heart watching him play defense almost brings a tear to my eye because it is so otherworldly but his miserable plate approach ruins all of it so I’m happy that we’re clearing up a spot for the 23-year-old Prospect who we got in the Nolan Jones trade Juan buredo the dude had 40 doubles and 21 home runs with a near 370 on base at AAA last year I will take an offensive iive threat at second base over Platinum defense any chance I get Andress he had an 82 Ops plus last season and he has a sub 500 Ops in the playoffs that’s not going to cut it and also Nick Salin he’s going to the Blue Jays as well he has bad command issues but that weird arm angle generates a ton and I mean a ton of whiffs he held hitters to a 74 Ops plus and high leverage situations as well so he has nerves of Steel he’s got that goofy arm angle and gets a lot of strikeouts not an awful trade if you like Anderson menz and his ceiling if you think that he can bounce back but again if he doesn’t that’s a lot of money for not the best bat when I say not the best uh he looked borderline Javier buys like last year we’ll talk about 21-year-old Nick Mitchell going back to the Guardians first because Spencer Horwitz I was excited about him but then he got flipped to the pirate so Nick Mitchell he’s a prototypical Cleveland player he doesn’t strike out a bunch he works the count and I assume he plays great defense some are saying he’s kind of quan likee because he’s 5’9 510 is he h 345 in college over 150 games that’s Nick Mitchell he’s the only guy going back to the Guardians in that blue jay trade Spencer Horwitz was involved but then he got immediately flipped to the Pirates so Spencer he’s an older rookie he just turned 27 years old he’s always been a high contact high walk guy in the minor leagues and he flashed some pop last year he had 12 home runs along with a 360 on base and a 125 Ops plus last year in a handful of games I think it was 90 something games that’s some pretty solid production I don’t know if he’s going to be a second baseman or a first baseman for the Pirates but I really like that pickup for Pittsburgh now who do the guard get in return for Spencer horwood so they got soon to be 26-year-old Luis Ortiz they got a 21-year-old Josh hardle and a 20-year-old Michael Kennedy Ortiz he had a 3.3 erra last year which is pretty impressive even though he throws hard he doesn’t strike out a bunch of guys almost like Emanuel class but again he throws hard and Cleveland really thinks that they can unlock the spin and in my opinion I think that they’re really going to focus on the cutter itself if he can keep throwing that Sinker that dives in and get that cutter to cut away the strikeouts are definitely going to go up and I like Luis Ortiz this a solid move in mod pin because he’s going to be a three of four guy I like his ceiling 21-year-old left-hander Josh hardle he was a third rounder this year his stock fell off a cliff and plummeted after an insane junior year but you have to remember he’s going to the guardian so this is a perfect fit it’s a project in the making I like this move as well 20-year-old right-handed starting pitcher Michael Kennedy he was a fourth rounder in 2022 he has a combined 3.1 era and an almost 11 strikeouts per nine in the lower minor league so far sure I’ll take him as well now for me the this is Christmas coming early as a Guardians fan I know a lot of fans are upset because they like Hors as a person and again that defense was really fun but the conclusion of the Lindor trade is finally done Ahmed Rosario is gone Anders s menus is gone Cookie’s gone Josh Wolf has been gone so the entire trade is swinging all the way in the favor of the Mets they absolutely smoke the guardians but at least that contract is off the books thank you Toronto I appreciate it and again I’m not trying to sound giddy that Andress has gone but he made me so mad like his plate approach made me want to stop watching the game entirely one more trade to talk about Jake Berger is going to the Rangers but actually real quick the Rangers made a pretty sizable move they brought back Nathan avaldi on a three-year deal worth $75 million you guys know what Nathan brings to the table you can essentially pencil him in for a mid three eray and an injury or two he’s going to miss five or six starts but he gets better in the postseason he has a combined 3.05 eray and almost 10 strikeouts per nine in the playoffs which are both better than his regular season per for his career so he’s a big time pitcher great move for the Rangers the Rangers were not done they also picked up Jake Berger who was one of the best players or at least best hitters in baseball down the stretch last year in the second half he put up an Ops over 900 and swatted 19 home runs now Jake will be 29 years old but he’s not a free agent until 2029 so again this is going to be kind of a long-term play for the Rangers he is one of the best power bats and all of baseball his exit velocities are just ridiculous he’s probably going to be their new DH because his defense is atrocious like bottom of the barrel we’re talking about in the game of baseball it’s a loaded lineup if Wyatt Langford continues to improve he was the best rookie in the second half Marcus Simeon adolis Garcia to me I feel like those guys are solid bounceback candidates and you get a full season of deg gr to me the Rangers are going to look a lot like their 2023 world champion S as opposed to the regressing 2024 s going back to the Marlins we have three separate prospects including a former super Prospect a former fan favorite in the hobby we we called The Hobby that’s just card collecting 22-year-old infielder Max aasta he looked like a straight up bust before really finding his Groove at Double this year he batted 290 with 26 stolen bases and he only struck out 14% of the time so the Marlins really like his ceiling they’re also getting 20-year-old starting pitcher Brian Mendoza who has Elite strikeout stuff but he really struggled when he got promoted to high a they’re also getting 19-year-old infielder Edy Vargas if I botch that I’m sorry it’s the first time I’m even hearing about him he had 14 home runs and 2 nine stolen bases in 97 a ball games so again these guys probably will not pay dividends for the next 2 or 3 years but the Marlins they’re trying to build up a super super squad in terms of top prospects from other teams I hate this in the short term for Marlins fans because they’re probably not going to be good until 2026 20127 but hey they’ve made a lot of Trades over the last few months and if a couple of these prospects turn out to be pretty good shout out to the new GM I can’t remember his name but he’s going for it oh I just remembered it as I finished my last sentence it is Peter benck we know that he came from the Rays he’s the new GM a lot of people have no faith in him but he’s making a lot of moves he’s I mean he’s a risk taker last but not least we have six really small moves to talk about I want to kind of get them over with real quick Jordan Romano he signed a one-year deal with the Phillies for $8.5 million we know that he was a stud with the Blue Jays from 20120 to 2023 he had a 2.29 eay over those Seasons but holy regression in 2024 and that was in large part because he couldn’t stay healthy had a 6 and a half eay in 13 Innings but the Phillies they’re confident that they can unlock him all over again Jimmy Garcia is going back back to the Blue Jays after being traded from the Blue Jays literally a few months ago he was a leap before the trade to the Mariners he was awful and useless for the Mariners so he comes right back he gets a two-year deal because Toronto they just really know how to unlock his strikeout stuff Alex Cobb he is leaving the Guardians for a one-year deal $15 million contract he has a 3.7 era since 2021 with Elite ground ball percentages he misses barrels a ton the Tigers think that they can build off of the small success that he had with the Guardians last year even though he rarely stayed healthy Akil Badu the bad man we’re only talking about him because he’s one of my favorite players he has officially been DFA he had 13 home runs and 18 stolen bases as a rookie he has a 75 Ops plus s but if the Rays or the Dodgers get a hold on him considering his crazy exit velocities last year maybe they can turn him into a really solid platoon Bat Mike tochman he’s going to the White Soxs he has a 360 on base over the last two seasons his defense and speed have really fallen off but he’s 34 years old and also Tyro Estrada he is the Brendan Rogers replacement he gets a one-year deal with the Rockies he’s a walking 10 20 that’s 10 home runs 20 stolen bases with great defense when he’s healthy 2024 yeah that didn’t happen he was bad that does it for today’s crazy recap we’ll talk about Garrett crochet in depth in the next video make sure you guys subscribe because you do not want to miss that leave a like these videos take a lot of work and I’ll see you in the next one God I’m hyped up baseball is so fun right now
