back in studio Joe muso Emy hunt Ryan Wilson guys you snap a four game losing streak you look pretty clean on both sides of the ball and the conversation ain’t about you the conversation currently is about the New York football Giants they turned to Tommy deito thinking maybe it’ll give them something what did you see from this group’s effort on this day Emory well offensively it went exactly how he expected it to go with the new quarterback in there in time deito they just didn’t really do much to really say hey this is a different way we’re going this is going to be a a fantastic offensive display they were just kind of going through the motions offensively I thought the defense didn’t do its job in terms of giving that offense more opportunities at bat because the offense couldn’t get out of its own way they couldn’t run the football they couldn’t throw the football with consistency they couldn’t pass protect we saw V in the back field board and we saw Tyrone Tracy that’s not a good thing if you’re a quarterback so for me it was more about the defense doing uh didn’t do its job to help save this offense and that’s why we saw the offensive output we saw it feels like to me that the Giants are the home team that’s also the homecoming team that’s where they are in their journey and that’s not a place you want to be as an NFL franchise uh and Baker Mayfield talking about uh paying respect to Tommy DeVito basically we’re not laughing at you we’re laughing with you no no we are laughing at you and we’re making it loud and clear but what are the answers they keep getting hit and punch getting getting punched in the mouth and not being able to do anything as em noted and you talked about the O and4 the last four games for the bucks after a 4-2 start they’re right where they need to be Mike Evans help helps with that and I don’t know what the solution is short term for the Giants because they are a team going in the wrong direction they have no leaders they cut Daniel Jones and I don’t know what’s next for them in the coming weeks and months other than some pretty bad football and maybe unlike a year ago guys when Tommy Devo went three and three they just keep losing games and their in position to get a quarterback finally once the draft rolls around well that that becomes the question because it’s not a short-term answer it’s a long-term problem they have to fix a lot before they can even think about being a competitive football team the question becomes what now for this team at quarterback Ryan as you look to the draft class being our draft expert what now at the head coaching position and are those two things at odds because if you have a coach coaching for his job of the final two months of the season and you have a team that is pseudo tanking for the best possible draft position to get that quarterback how do those two things marry and that’s the thing why was Brian dble brought in right to do for Daniel Jones what he did for Josh Allen we have seen none of that and there’s plenty of blame to go around and you can D it up however you want to at the end of the day Brian dble has not done his job and we saw the the picture of Joe Shane uh looking pretty much demoralized uh in the owner Suite or in the working Suite as rickan likes to call it what’s his future going to be as well as we know their draft class last spring was a great draft class but if you don’t have a quarterback you don’t have anything and I think they may be a day late in a dollar short in terms of the quarterback class this year because last year’s class in my mind Emory was way was much better with cayb Williams Jaden Daniels and Drake may even playing well and again if they’d only gone two and four instead of four and four two and six instead of four and four a year go down the stretch they could Had Drake May right now maybe the things look differently for this team that that looks completely and utterly out of it all right so we lead with the Calamity of the Giants but this is a Tampa Bay team very much with their season still right out in front of them Emory and Atlanta team has not taken the advantage of all the injuries Tampa Bay has been dealt how do you feel take a temperature check I know you can’t read too much into a win over the Giants but you do take care of business in this instance is there enough there to remain not just competitive but maybe steal this division still absolutely cuz think about it we’ve seen across the league every Sunday teams lose games against opponents they are supposed to beat and we saw Tampa go out there and dominate the New York Giants 450 yards of total offense like his college football and Baker Mayfield I thought played his most complete game we’ve seen from him as a pro he did a great job on third down he did a great job avoiding pressure buying time hitting targets deep down the field his accuracy and placement was where it needed to be and you saw the heads up play uh on the fumble he saw the football and even on the long run by Bucky Irving who’s out there in front Baker Mayfield So Mayfield to me is the right guy for this team um and you saw the the way they played this game dominated opponent like the Giants I think they have the leg up right now in the NFC South yeah and the thing is and that’s an important note about Baker for years Cleveland whether it was Carolina even the Rams where does Baker fit is he a first overall pick fit matters and that talks that goes in in line with the Young quarterback conversation we have every week Joe and it goes along with veterans finding the right position and Baker’s found the right position came into this week third completion percentage and third in touchdowns had 24 coming into this game and oh by the way let me check my notes Here Tampa Bay had the toughest schedule coming into today second easiest strength to schedule going forward so every reason to believe that they can win that division yeah and here’s the thing the individual efforts from the running backs Bucky Irving Shaun Tucker and even Rashad white all of these guys contributed I know it’s a Giants defense but this was a very good effort by all those backs out there in the back field impressive stuff here Al be it against the New York football Giants Tampa Bay back in the wind column for the first time in more than a month
