teams now feels a little different because historically they haven’t been this is a conference game Arizona States nine and2 on the season they’ve honestly been extremely impressive they were really emerged you’ve got transfers that we’re familiar with from the past Adam Miller Big 10 ter territory um just a lot of really good players a lot of talented players on this Arizona State team big test for BYU what are you expecting yeah it’s it’s finally good to talk about BYU playing an opponent where you don’t do you know the instagame prep over over at Ken pomeroy.com and you see a number like 289 343 324 like next to the team of the opponent that they’re playing I I’ve actually very impressed I guess with Arizona State not not like impressed in the fact that like oh my God Arizona State needs to be like a top 25 team or Arizona State’s like a tournament Locker or anything like that but uh I just think that this team has talent like you mentioned quance I think quietly he hasn’t been getting mention with some of the best freshman in the country but for a reclass big man which what he is I believe he still might be 17 or just turned 18 he’s already an elite shot blocker at his age and I think his offensive game is coming along he’s had some really loud moments this year uh he’s a really good player you mentioned San as well who I think is a really good player and then they got some some guys that you’re like oh my God Adam Miller still playing college basketball on this team so you know there’s there’s actually a lot of endearing qualities about this Arizona State team in my opinion and look we have had a small sample size obviously BYU so far this year but when BYU plays a team with a pulse they lose is that fair to say um I don’t think it is fair to say you don’t no because I think NC State had a pulse and they correct correct correct okay all right you’re right I guess I could throw that out the window but with that said you know Arizona State I think is a very quality opponent uh I think hopping in the Big 12 Play having the chance to play not like you’re not jumping into the Big 12 fire in the Mike young era and playing like Kansas on the road at fog Allen to start Big 12 Play you got Arizona State sorry Kevin young come on respect my coach damn it I know it’s been like a month of us forgetting about he hasn’t played anybody I’m sorry so he’s Mike young until he beat somebody you care about if he wins this game he can get Kevin back okay all right we always want to get Kevin back always but yeah you got a good chance to get a a real good win at home hopefully jagor demon is back that’s probably the biggest storyline he’s supposed to be back for Big 12 play this would be Big 12 play so uh yeah a good test for for BYU here yeah yeah is it a good Tess or is it just like a I like Arizona State a Vibes it’s a Vibes team it’s an extremely extremely good test um I think Arizona State’s good I think they should be an NCA tournament team I’m making jokes and kind of rolling my eyes because I don’t believe that jagor deon’s gonna play and I I I’m this is all gut feeli I’m not speaking from any knowledge whatsoever I’m speaking you know I’m the body language PhD I don’t think BYU fans are familiar with this side of me yet I went to school for body language I wish this was a bit it’s not a bit it’s who I am it’s in my bloodstream and uh cart’s shivering just hearing me talk about it and I uh I just from watching the ey test of BYU and everything that’s going on you got Deans you rolled out the blue carpet for Deans you put him in the student section you put a mic on his dad you gave him a video package haven’t seen eor demon since then haven’t seen him and I’m not saying that there would be like some jealousy I know jagor helped the recruitment of AJ in theory these two should love each other they’re both lottery picks they’re both probably top three picks if we’re being honest you’ve gotta play basketball to be a top three pick like I in the time that jagor demon has gone down and basically been out of the lineup uh by the way it wasn’t just that he went out of the lineup it’s that he had stinkers before going out of the lineup he was in single digits scoring three of the four games before going out of the lineup he didn’t play well against Providence he did not play well or shoot well in any of these games including the lost to Mississippi all of a sudden BYU’s losing games and oh what happened jagor is in Street close but we got to bansa I don’t like that I’m just saying it and I know it’s injury driven I’m not accusing the kid of like ducking games I know he’s hurt get well jagor I want to see you play you’re one of my favorite players in college basketball but also if you’re going to play poorly all you’re going to do is hurt your draft stock so this is a guy whose draft stock is already here I don’t think he gains a lot by playing if he’s not going to play well and I think Igor’s advisers know that so we’ll see I hope he plays in this game I know you keep telling me he should we’ll see but I want him to play I do too are you sure I really want jagor to play he’s one of my three favorite players in the country to watch when healthy can someone tell us if he’s gonna play why do we have to wait until this game why can’t someone just tell us just weird weird Vibes is all I’m saying like jagor looked like the best point guard in the country and then dalon Hall returns and he looks awful and then you get de bansa and he’s never heard from again so are we just gonna snap our fingers and he’s back to November jagor or is there something else going on here me thinks body language PhD thinks there might be a little more complication to this busting out of me thinks has me thinking we’re so back how about that um let’s look at this way then what difference or is it different outcome of gor plays or not as far as win loss I mean a way way higher probability of winning if jagor plays yeah I don’t think there’s ever going to be a game that that’ll change like beu is infinitely better when their top three pick is in the lineup um yeah I mean I guess the reason I hesitate is I think they could lose this game with the aor that’s where I’m at because I think Arizona state has has guys who’s the more talented roster Joor is the most talented guy on both teams jagor is the most talented guy on both teams I would make an argument that Arizona State’s roster is more talented I mean Canon Catchings is kind of in the mold of acquaintance I think Quon has been way better than Canon Catchings he has been yeah and honestly San’s been I what’s I I don’t want to make this up I think senan’s been strapping from three San had a monthlong stretch where he went 21 points 18 points 22 points 19 points 19 points 19 points he’s shooting 51% from three on the season yeah why is he not at BYU honestly this freshman class is ridiculous we it’s like of all years to be trying to build teams off some good freshman this is a great year to do it you know it is and I mean literally there’s not a freshman out here who’s not not hooping other than Canon can can country maybe he comes around maybe it’s time Canon Big 12 Canon Catchings I think maybe we’ll have a discussion and we’ll laugh at this year when Canon is in the green room and be like you know what non-conference Canon was hilarious but man Big 12 Canon was special I mean Canon is coming off the best game of his career 21 points so um does it mean anything to you that these two teams played last year and be won by 28 points uh no Noah Waterman with 24 points in that win for BYU shout out to Noah Waterman with a Ry gamewinner over Eastern Kentucky by the way uh Frankie Collins with 11 for Arizona State in that game yeah different teams I think way different teams I I I think that the the thing is that the thought that keeps going through my head and that’s why I asked like the whole Jor with or without comment is that I think if Arizona State plays their best game in my head they win that’s without jagor if jagor is there I just think that even their best game won’t be enough because I think jagor is that special yeah yeah I think that’s fair I think this is a prove it game for BYU to me I’m gonna make it all about myself because uh I had BYU in my final four in the beginning of the season I very much still want to believe in this group and I very much still do believe in this group when Jor demon is active so what I need out of this program at this specific time the final day of 2024 I need some signs of life I need to see jagoron in uniform and good from the tip I need to see other guys playing complimentary roles around him I need to see this team collectively show up against a quality opponent win the game win it somewhat comfortably give me a very good Diego performance and I’ll jump all the way back on the bandwagon screaming that this team could be a final fouram but I got to see it and we’re running out of time and if we get to 2025 and I haven’t seen it it might be time to officially jump off the bandwagon and uh also underlying thing here this game is at 400 pm on New Year’s Eve uh there’s there’s a function in Tempe if we want to get out of here Provo will not be going up on New Year’s Eve I’m sorry I got BYU
