for a title race is that evidence as as to why just not be able to manage game no no no I said the the same question after when we win a game I said always no because we win tonight uh we are ready for the title and not because we lose tonight uh it’s more the feeling that we have inside the reality that we can see that there are many things that we can do better for sure tonight one of the things that we could do better is the game management uh but also I think we did many good things so just a reminder how things s it was a brilliant day for Liverpool overall could it get better tomorrow of course Arsenal are in action B it stands Liverpool are seven points clear at the top of the table they have a game in hand as well over Chelsea and of course Nottingham Forest there as well after their win against Spurs as you’re welcom in Don Hutchinson uh to the show H Don it’s my fault I thought Chelsea could really be title contenders and I said that they drew against Everton and and they lost the day out of all the matches today I think it’s fair to say that this was arguably the most entertaining yeah it was my game today that I commentated on Dan it was a brilliant game of football I mean chelse will be kicking themselves that they didn’t put the game away in the first 45 minutes Cole Palmer I mean Stevie said it before he said you know sometimes he makes the game look very easy I think he’s a type of player that you wouldn’t bombard him with any tactics because you just go and let him play free and he was brilliant the first 45 minutes but if you ever want to watch a game for 90 minutes and understand why Chelsea are not in a title race the second 45 minutes they’re a bit young they’re a little bit naive and I said it in comms with 20 minutes to go I watched the side that were a little bit apprehensive a little bit afraid to go and get the second goal in the game what did they do they tried to protect what they had at one nil it was dangerous and Fulham with all their quality on the pitch and Harry Wilson’s came off the bench again for Fulham and scored another goal and as soon as that happened momentum completely switched and then CH Chelsea then as the dynamic proved when it went back to 1-1 Chelsea then went back on the front foot to try and get the 2-1 win unfortunately for them they lost the game first time maros silver and I think fulham’s won there for an awful long time so they’re a great story Fulham but Chelsea you can see to say why they’re just a little bit inexperience to go all the way that was evident today wasn’t it in that second half they kind of betwix and between I I I kind of thought they just lacked intensity to be honest with you and I’m kind of pointing the finger at the manager it’s one thing to turn around and say you know we’re not good enough to win the title and yes they’ve got young players and yes they don’t have the experience that other sides in the Premier League have but when you’re in a position where you can win the title if I’m the manager and I see see the second half lacking an intensity then I’m off my Bene and I’m getting on them and getting some intensity in the game don’t just let it where was the intensity but where was there wasn’t any he’s just letting it ride and he’s using excuse about where this this just shows we’re not ready I’m sorry you need to see there’s no intensity and you need to get off your seat and get on the touch line and start winding some people up and understand that you know what maybe they’re not good enough yet but you know what when you’ve got a chance you got to try and take it even if you think you’re not ready and to me that comes from the manager that that was that’s what annoyed me more than anything f are a team that if you don’t put them away the way they break and they show it at the end the trouble they can cause you on the break that’s why they end up losing the game but I think it could have been avoided not because of the players right as brilliant as mores has been I think he dropped the ball here yeah we’ve given him a lot of credit haven’t we since of course he joined Chelsea Don he only made one substitution today yeah I thought the biggest glare of the thing for me in the second half I’d love to ask Moresco where was Enzo Fernandez playing because on paper the first 45 minutes he was playing as a pair alongside kaiso and they’re pretty sort of close together but in the second half it was really strange that Enzo Fernandez was really wandering away to the right hand side so you see that graphic there was more or less where Netto is and kaedo had to do an awful lot of work on his own in the middle of the par when a win and one nil and when it went to 1-1 I’m still thinking well at some point either the manager’s got to bring Enzo Fernandez a little bit tighter alongside kaiso or the players on the pitch have got to do that themselves and they didn’t so the question I’d love to ask the manager where was he actually playing because he wasn’t playing in a two kiso was on his own and he was drifting around the right hand side and off the sort of front and 10 roll that’s where you just think one or two of the Chelsea even Co Palmer how brilliant he was first half second half he was trying little flicks and little tricks when it wasn’t on when he should have just kept the ball so it was a little bit disjointed but it’s hard to criticize Chelsea where they’re at in terms of the Premier League because me and Stevie and you Dan we all worked on their preseason games and I thought they’d be a mile off no I get that I that but when when they put together the run that they have and yes I know they they’re exceeding expectations but but still you know and I understand that there’s a naivity and a lack of experience but but come on you you’re one nil up against Fulham you’ve got good quality within this squad you’ve got to do better than that don’t you uh yes but it takes it takes everybody and when I say everybody again I’m going to go back to the manager cuz Don’s just doubled down on what I said when a player starts drifting away from what he’s supposed to be doing there’s one guy who can fix it and one guy who should fix it and again that comes down to moresa so mesa’s let Fernandez start drifting around and when a game becomes easy mentally that’s what happens players players start drifting into places they shouldn’t be or where the manager doesn’t really want them to be and sometimes you get away with it and sometimes you don’t but if you’ve got a coach who’s on it and sees it early and nips it in the bud that could be the difference between winning and losing what do you do now do now in the next match how do you use this game as a learning experience to make sure that you don’t make those errors again well it’s the manager and hopefully the manager has got a coaching staff who will sit down and what watch this game cuz you know they’re watching of course all the every single minute every single right cuz there 25 of them yeah like you and the rested I hope I hope his coaching staff are in a position where they have no problem saying gaffa either you or we didn’t do anything in the in this second half when things started going a I hope that’s what that’s what they do because that’s the only thing I don’t I don’t think you can point the finger at the Players they are inexperienced and sometimes they need they need help and today they never got the help that they needed at the right time when you say they need help what does that mean that means the manager on the side getting on the lakes of Fernandez tell him remember your job this is where you play this is your starting position if we go forward yes you can join in but you start here just little things like that picking on players who start drifting into positions they shouldn’t be that’s where they need help particularly young players so I I think this game is not about what the the Chelsea players on the field didn’t do it’s about what the coaching staff didn’t do so there’s nothing the players can really do about it because they don’t have that experience on isn’t that just a bit of a free pass no I think you get that you get wise when you get older in life but certainly as a footall when you’re young you want to do everything so when you’re winning one nil I would imagine Enzo Fernandez was bombing forward trying to get the second trying to look good but at some point it’s all about protecting what you’ve got and you get that with experience you know Enzo Fernandez even though he’s still relatively young he’s played a lot of games International Football won the World Cup so he should have recognized that with 20 minutes to go the position he should have been in was really close to kaedo I don’t think kaiso is like a natural leader like a voice leader where he’s going to pull him and drag him in but that’s what you need if you got an experienced one if it’s not the manager I agree with Stevie he should be doing it he should be saying Enzo Fernandez get back into a pair and make us more hard to beat because Kai and I said it on commentary he was doing like he was doing unbelievable in terms of the distance he was covering and the ground that he had to kept covering going left and right and forward and back it was too much for him in the end so I think when you’re a little bit older that comes more natural I think when you’re young you want to win press you want to do that a little bit more but there’s a time and a place uh word on fand Don there’s a lot of legs in that side amazing I mean Kenny T didn’t even play today so they played castania as a right wing back and Anthony Robertson’s been a player that I’ve loved and I’ve you know I’ve said it many a time I think he could be tailor made for the likes of Liverpool on man city I think he can go to the next level a W’s in great form I mentioned Harry Wilson coming off the bench and man got his goal Jimenez led the line for about an hour just over uh bass’s in really good form they played three at the back today and two Wing backs so they were quite sort of not solid but they looked a little bit better in terms of the Personnel but they’re a great side to watch you know they play in moments they they’ll take the game to anyone uh they don’t fear anyone we’ve seen that when they played Liverpool at anfield they’re a great side to watch ironic City’s the only top side that’s beaten them oh ironic yeah I know but even then even there it was against play wasn’t it that was just before everything went completely wrong for them [Music]
