🕵️‍♂️ Transcript:

you won your last six home League games without conceding best run since March 2019 when you had eight so you’re coming up close to that as well um is it too soon to sort of make parallels given what happened that season and how much is that a foundation of a promotion potential promotion yeah I mean listen there would be there been talk about us at the start of the Season even from our supporters maybe you know uh may maybe some not so optimistic um uh you that we’re on the slide and you know this could uh this could be straight through the trapo and into into into League one that was never mind sort of um my my sort of opinion of of it um you want to win your own games which we’ve we’ve we’ve we’ve we’ve done which has been brilliant you want to be competitive on the road which we which we have done um I I I’ve said in terms of characteristics and personality in the field it has that it has that feel uh but still a of a long way to go um you know you know what we uh into into game 16 17 or whatever it is so you know uh third of the Season through as we are but we’re in good shape so we’ve given ourselves a fantastic start and opportunity and something to build on I always believe that we will get better as the season progresses uh for the work on the training ground and um and we need to keep this going we can’t we can’t set a foot off the gas um talk to the players about what sort of derails our season and if we want to take any shortcuts and we we want to be arrogant I want to be complacent we want to lose discipline um we talked about that then these are going to be things that are going to hold us back in terms of having a successful season uh from my point of view I demand that there won’t be any any arrogance in the team or complacency for experience and we have to talk about discipline as well because every point is uh Priceless every point is valuable but it has got a good feel about it and uh and why not we we should back ourselves a good group of players that have won games of football this season and and and we’re right in the mix but important that we understand there’s there’s hell of a long way to go rob and it’s your old Club up next won a promotion with him any good memories from memories yeah yeah I would say 90% of it was was was really good I work with some fabulous people there I be forever grateful for the opportunity I got given to me by by the by the chairman Kelvin Thomas at the time and and and and and the great people that that I met along the way the late Mickey Lewis um his his wife and boys coming up to the game as well so they they were they were they were part of uh of that big big part of of of of the journey um uh Alan Hinson who’s who’s name has obviously been been remembered in these parts as well was goalkeeping coach so we shared many many a story Jim Smith as we as as was a director there as well so you know fabulous uh experience erience for me as a young manager learning from an absolute gray and Jim Rosen TI as well was a director there at at the time so fabulous football people obviously Jim Smith’s passed and and Allan’s passed and Mickey’s passed so but still speak to Jim Rosen T um every every uh other week and still speak to the chairman uh every other week fabulous times it didn’t end in in in in in a great way unfortunately but I’d like to think that people will will will look at that time as a as a decent time for us I enjoyed and we we all I like to think we all enjoyed one of the best days of my managerial career a win at Wembley first time to manage at Wembley and and to win in front of nearly 50,000 supporters and 35,000 from Oxford was was incredible experience and one that um you know I look back fond lay on uh Dez Bingham was was was was part of of the coaching group as well towards the back end of my time as well so I knew Dez and knew strengths um that he was coming through uh a guy that I I like and delighted for him as well in terms of him going back to his old his old club and and gaining promotion and I watched that game as well and it was it was fabulous to see Dez um Dez on the sideline and I thought he was absolutely spot on in terms of what he what he did in the game and and his his influence on that group to get him out of the division tough division to get out of and uh yeah they had a good start and obviously the the champion ship is is ruthless and it’s and it’s tough and it’s a disappointing result but they got some quality and and desert the elm is is the best man for the for the job and he’s uh is’s a he’s a man of quality uh and uh and Technical technically knows knows the game and um it would be it would be tough evening for us
