Kentucky here against Colgate tonight at home the Wildcats laying 32 and a half with a total of 157 when last we saw them tremendous win for Kentucky Saturday night coming from behind down 16 at the half came back to beat Gonzaga on Saturday night now back home with a Colgate team that is what two and eight on the season so far so this has got Wipeout written all over it total 157 or does it have Wipeout written all over it I again submit Duke last night and Incarnate Word is like 28 21 at the half last night all right thoughts Corby begin the discussion here on big blue back at home with Colgate at rup Arena tonight yeah this fits a a topic or I guess you could call it a trend that I’ve been talking about for a minute now and it’s these teams that are massive dogs that are playing like the exact counter opposite Pace work Colgate not a fast team this year 300th in the nation in Tempo but issue they’re not going to have a choice like they don’t get to choose if they’re 300th in Tempo today they were going to be down they’re going to be down early and they’re going to have to play fast like when you’re down 20 you can’t run your whole offense is kind of the nature of the Beast with that they’ll get worse shots I think that’s why this number is 32 and a half um that is like a pretty hard indicator towards an over for me the issue is in years past we’ve looked at this Colgate team and we’ve been like man this team like is a a beast killer like colgate’s been good they’ve been able to shoot they’ve had uh just annoying pesky defense that is not this year’s team this year’s team is not very talented I think is a nice word um I they’re they’re not shooting great and I I don’t see that regressing very much I just haven’t been impressed when I go look at Colgate games and the reason I think the over is a decent look here is if you look at Colgate in State and I talked about NC State earlier that game probably is having a little bit of dictation on what this number is because NC State is a really good team and you go look at that game and it went way under the issue is NC State will put in their backups to like actually run their entire offense at the end of games they they just want to see their offense be run by the second team uh and so I think that that number probably is about 20 points short because they stopped playing and it’s going to have some kind of impact on this number so I made this 161 I was pretty close to playing an over here I don’t know if coate can help you I know Kentucky enjoys running up the score so uh this would be an over nothing for me but I didn’t bet it the chat is talking about this Matt Cox that Lamont Butler the San Diego State transfer did not play I believe it’s an ankle injury didn’t play against Gonzaga do we know anything more for whatever we know about whether he can play and some are saying May Kentucky not only sit him tonight but sit a couple of other guys uh and then just be careful with that big of a number if they don’t care that much to wipe them out what are your thoughts Matt yeah I think it’s a u sort of an on the fense thing with Butler I mean but whether he’s healthy or not I think your your main Point’s the the good one is like do they need them to play 30 minutes tonight no probably not I think with Kentucky though is like even if they’re resting guys they are deep and they have guys off the bench they’re looking to play with something to prove and this is what Mark Pop’s uh you know he’s always been a guy that’s running up against these bad teams not because he’s a bad guy but because he has a lot of depth and they play really fast and they’re just sort of like a you know a ho machine that they just don’t really take their foot off the gas you know offensively now defensively I think they have shown some cracks in some of these games I mean I know Georgia State comes to mind Georgia State shot the ball really well from three though I don’t think that was like bad defense I think that was just sort of an indictment um on uh or just sort of bad luck with Georgia State making shots there that was their game three games ago they won 105 to 76 they did not cover that game by the way and then they lost at Clemson and then they just obviously went up to gonzago off that crazy win now they come back I just think it’s sort of an ex ta type of spot I mean I don’t love I don’t want to lay Co I don’t want to take Colgate here I hate bet against Mar as a favorite but my gut thinks that some of these home uh you know favorite during finals week’s sleepiest spots um will not play that well and Colgate even though they are down they starting big guy TJ Jeff Woodard pretty key piece he’s played in some tournaments on colgate’s good teams in years past they are still well coached and I think they’re going to have some uh you know might give kuy’s defense some issues we shall see a slight lean to Colgate but I just hate betting these big spreads where the variance is so high and the unpredictability is so high also one one thing here uh Matt brings up Jeff W Woodward being out uh I actually got a text from Adam trigger who’s watching the show right now as we’re doing the show and he said um okay a really good point he he brings up to me like I I talk about how Posh Alexander speeds up teams you know any team that has Posh is gonna play faster any time that has Duke m is going to play faster there’s anti-ps too uh and Jeff Woodward would be one of those 611 kind of forces a team who wants to play run down the court get a three type of basketball like Colgate does um having a 611 big who’s pretty slow kind of forces you into a little lesser pace so without him in um I think we can see this team speed up it says 70 possessions but uh it wouldn’t surprise me if this is 73 possessions 74 possessions and in that case it would be an over for me I do agree with Matt like it’s going to be tough to see if Kentucky cares enough uh but if we’ve seen anything for Pope teams like they’re going to run up the score so it wouldn’t surprise me if this is to an over pretty quickly all right again we gave you a lot on this game one other variable oh by the way coming Saturday Kentucky hosts arch rival Louisville so back to the premise of how much do they care to clobber Colgate tonight including how many minutes do the bigger name players play Andrew Carr had the big second half and overtime as they overcame the deficit a car had what 20 points hit a couple of big baskets in the overtime against Gonzaga will he have a big tonight o is the leading uh scorer right now for Kentucky how much do those guys play in this game it almost seemed Matt Cox was blinking the light as I like to say figuratively stay away stay away here from this potentially night especially with the injury concerns yeah go ahead let’s let’s do something Kevin give me the live button I’m gonna play the over I think I get 156 um let me check this let me check this what do we what do we have on BET us do we have 156 right now let me check quick so we’re not giving up I’m double I’m double checking that it was 157 earlier yeah it’s I see 15 156 and a half seems about right so give me a one over 156 and a half just like going through and looking at colgate’s box scores uh versus nor Eastern they almost won that game um they had 142. field goals made and and nine three-point field goals this just seems like a game where they run down the court they shoot the three if they miss uh you’re giving the more efficient team more possession so I I imagine this is running gun this is ugly giving the over here interesting and uh you know again if you get like let me help me with my math if you get like 9760 you’re good again they got 104 on Georgia State or 105 on Georgia State and Georgia State as Matt mentioned just hit a bunch of shots so once again live button here why you gotta be here live kids live button here is Kentucky and Colgate to go over 156 and a half correct we’re going to do the 156 and A2 at rup Arena tonight that is 8 eastern time I’m double-checking is that ESPN or the SEC network for our game uh this evening with big blue back at home I always like to give out the little T ESPN actually ESPN the deuce thank you the deuce will have the game uh tonight or Kentucky and Colgate [Music]
