starts off Simon please and um could you quite believe that score line I mean when you came here today I would have imagined you hoped maybe expected to win but maybe not for now yeah look you don’t yeah you don’t sort of come to a place like this thinking that it’s uh you know it’s going to be uh you know probably as convincing as it was for us in terms of just the way we handled look I’ve said before City tests you in every football way possible you know you’ve got to do a bit of everything you got to you know you got to defend you got to work hard you got to be disciplined and you got to play football and um I thought all four areas we we really sort of you know um got to a really really strong level today where the players just really determined to make sure that um you know after obviously a disappointing game last game that we just got back to sort of our cor belose as a team and credit to the lads I thought they were outstanding today because when knew first 10 minutes had come out faring obviously the four losses they’ had were away from home so being at home there’d be an energy in the stadium we were going to have to sort of weather the storm which I thought we did fairly well and then we just scw into the game and um you know just so pleased for for the players in that you know the belief they have in trying to play the way we want to and then you get a reward like that I think it just uh you know furthers sort of our hopefully our progression congratulations an um on some of those kind you got young players in that Squad as well and then that team how kind of big is this for their development those young players and what they did out there today yeah I guess so I mean I you know I don’t you know I said during the week I really think we’ve progressed as a team I think we’re a better team this year than we were last year but we’ve had some some real flat spots to say the least that if con of um not allow us to to progress you know in terms of you know where we are in terms of our standing and but as I said I think yesterday I I have never since lot the players have lost belief in what we’re doing um it’s very easy to because obviously there’s a lot of noise when things don’t go well but you know they’ve just you know today was about sort of doubling down on our football principles and and we did that and it is significant because obviously they got an unbelievable record here at home um so I don’t think it’s something that you know you can be just sort of Blas about you know it is significant but I think it’s significant for the whole group that you know we can sort of we’ve reached these standards before it’s about now not dropping as we have in certain games hello just over here sorry you just mentioned that doubling down on your football principles I mean it seemed to be uh a very kind of defined game plan to hit your Wingers were brilliant for you how would you describe it how would you characterize what the plan was yeah I thought it was going to be important for us um as I said you know we knew we’re going to have to defend at different times and you with Dey and and and sunny out there um you know I thought if we could get the ball to them really early um you know City are pretty aggressive with their approach they they like to defend almost man- on man because they got outstanding Defenders who like to defend sort of man or man and but you know I think with with with dom there as well you know we like that sort of setup where we can get to to the ball to them earlier but you know that’s that’s the theory the practice isn’t always that easy because they put pressure on you and I thought our buildup play today um at times we got a little bit stuck especially in the second half but we just persisted and persisted in trying to hit those areas that we needed to and and every time we did even in the second half we we kind of we look really threatening and we obviously scored know some good goals from it but um you know for us again and it’s you know development as a team is is about trying to within the context of our football find solutions that exist you know depending on the opponent and I think um on telly said James Madison has he has had a bit of a lean spell just what have you seen from him behind the scenes character attitude wise to kind of turn it into a performance s today yeah look I mean I mean you know lean spell I mean I thought he was really good for us earlier in the year and then he had a couple of sort of flat games but you know that’s I think the whole team has um but I also believe there’s more in matters and and like I think that’s on me I always say you know that’s my role as a manager if if I’m not getting a maximum out of the players the team against zp Switch or individuals and you know it’s about sort of some self-reflection of okay can I do something different with them but the thing about matters was you know obviously didn’t go away International duties had two weeks with us and you the coaches worked really hard with him and he was working really hard at training and I could just sense that he was you know he was ready for for a big game and you know he’s he hasn’t sort of lowered his Ambitions or his uh kind of levels of you know the kind of player he wants to be and it’s about us giving him that platform and it wasn’t just his goals today I thought he’s you know was important for us in the buildup because he was always looking for it in tight areas and and defensively worked really hard so um yeah credit to him um like I said I I still I think he’s had a decent season but it’s like us as a team you know we want to be more than that you know we want to be more than just you know a decent thing hello an we um we probably criticize you defensively galatas and you had the same Center ARS in the team today what can you say about them two today and probably bmer in front room yeah I thought all yeah I thought they’re all great um you have to be against City cuz obviously they got big earling up there but the way they deliver the ball the areas that they kind of consistently probe um you got to be you know focused the whole time and I thought Ben and R really focused I thought Vic behind him was was really positive as well his positioning and the way they communicated like he said B was important to that I think the key for for us was we had to do it as a collective today I think when you play city um you know you can’t rely on individuals to to kind of sort of find Solutions out there and uh collectively I thought we defended well um but credit to those two guys and not just defensively but like I said we we had to play out from the back it was you know we was the only way we were going to sort of deliver balls to to to the areas we wanted to and both Ben and rer didn’t shy away from that it wasn’t always easy um but you know they consistently were looking for the ball and looking for uh us to play out from the back so uh CR to those guys okay thank you very much thank you [Music] [Music] oh oh [Music]
