NBA Cup champions I’m with dami and Li Lillard Dame before the game in the locker room Doc Rivers told you guys together we win just how connected did you guys feel tonight uh we it felt extremely connected out there I think um having a tough start that we had the only way out of it was us being together and us doing it you know as a connected group and a we’ve experienced our like I said our way out of it that way so coming out here tonight knowing that a lot was on the line for our team uh how connected we were tonight you know when the stakes Was His Highest was going to be the most important thing and I thought we played that way you guys held them as a team to 81 points but what were you doing specifically against Shay to keep him relatively quiet tonight I mean he’s an elite scorer you know it seems like every night he you see him scoring 30 35 40 points and it’s not a oneman job it’s a it’s a team effort and uh we just wanted to make them see bodies you know we were physical we communicated uh everybody just you know we stayed loaded up we closed out we protected each other and uh we sustained it for four quarters you guys started off this season 2 and8 but you said we just figured it out how were you able to figure it out to get here uh we just had to come together uh you know everybody was talking about us a lot of criticism uh people talked about the team that we weren’t and we knew who we were coming out of Camp you know day in and day out in practice and we just had to trust it we had to look within we had to come together you know in a in a hard times and I think when you you know you continue to fight and stay together uh and you push through you get to experience these types of things not everybody on the team gets the payday that you and Giannis uh get so what is it like to see some of these young guys just celebrate knowing that they’re about to get a big chunk of money it’s amazing uh you know it’s about the group yeah it’s not about one guy two guy three guys it’s about the group you know not just on the court but our lives you know we spend a lot of time around each other uh and when you away from from your family and we on the buses the locker room the showers we spend a lot of time around each other you want people to be good in life and um for our younger guys who don’t make the kind of money that the max players and 10 12 million players make you want this for them cuz you know it’s life changing opportunity uh so I’m I’m extremely happy for those guys congratulations D go celebrate with your teammates Mike
