watch party it is early I mean the numbers of views are just go going up quicker and quicker I mean it just keeps on increasing on the channel guys and on X so make sure you hit on that like button hit on that subscribe button we are hoping that over the next couple of hours and I said this last night if you weren’t on the show that I think he is if he’s going to sign he was either gonna sign late last night or sometime in the morning between 9 10 o’clock in the morning until NFL kickoff I doubt they’re gonna break a story of him signing during the football hours at least between 1 and four maybe you’ll get something later tonight but we are hoping and very much hoping that he signs over the next couple of hours Chris good morning buddy I can’t remember the last time I have done a stream this early Rob I’m not going to lie to you so um listen this is what uh Major League Baseball is all about as as it saying in the chat here listen we appreciate everybody whether you’re in my live chat on my Channel or in Rob’s I just want to reiterate to all of you whether you’re watching on YouTube or X that we appreciate you starting your beautiful Sunday mornings here right with us talking about this topic that we’ve been talking about all offseason long but again day two it was a marathon stream last night for us three hours on stream and both of us stayed up until 2 am just in case Juan stto news broke it didn’t we are here on December 8th hoping that it’s all said and done and if we don’t get any news during this stream guess what I’m sure we’ll find a time to go live later tonight and we’ll do a part three for you all as well because again I see this sto Saga ending tonight uh or today at the very minimum and Steve Cohen David Sterns and the Mets got to get it done we got a lot to talk about a lot of conflicting reports Heyman is already up and with his usual Antics saying that all things consistent the Yankees have the slight Edge and he mentioned Soto’s I guess likability to hitting in front of Aaron judge and having Aaron judge behind him again we talked a lot about the differences in the lineups between the Mets and the Yankees Juan SoDo remaining out of it what the rest of the lineup out for both of these teams again we’ll get into it and we do have some news in terms of pivot Points as well for a team like the Red Sox who are potentially eyeing teoscar Hernandez who was originally thought to be going to the Dodgers on a resign could they pivot we’ll talk about it yeah and you know John Haymon just had a spew his nonsense uh considering the fact that you know he could have said it in his New York Post last night like an hour before we closed out the stream you know the New York Post popped up that the Mets offered 730 and the Yankees offered 710 not really saying the years which you know if you do the me is probably 14 or 15 years probably a couple of opt outs or at least one opt out in each one of the offers and he didn’t put it in that New York Post article which is interesting you wake up to a tweet or an or what he said saying that all things equal with the Yankees and the Mets but it’s not equal that’s the problem like where were we getting this equal from if the if the offers were the same then it’s equal it’s not equal that’s what I just don’t understand like and this is we know John hayon is the mouthpiece for Scott Boris this is a situation where Boris is still trying to get the Yankees up a little bit so the Mets can counter that that’s basically what it is at this point and we said it last night and I still believe it since I slept by by about two hours maybe three where I don’t believe that the Mets are not going to have the highest offer and it’s already proven that the Mets went the Boris went back to Cohen in this instance when the Yankees probably went up to um above $700 million because it doesn’t make sense why would the Mets if if the Yankees went up to 710 knowing that the Yankees or the Mets went to 730 then why wouldn’t number one why wouldn’t woto sign already if that’s all he if he only cares about the the Yankees getting close he would have signed at 680 685 670 whatever the offers kept on going back with clearly he’s not signing with the Yankees as of yet if he was gonna take less money he would have took it at every any point the Yankees were close enough to whoever had the highest offer and it it just spews to me that I don’t think there’s the exact number juano wants to go back to the Yankees I just think that he wants them to be higher you know I think it’s a lack of respect in this in the not that the Yankees aren’t in respectable mode at this point because I think it is if you go over $700 million for a player it’s respectable but I think it’s showing a lack of respect to Juan stto about going at least trying to match the offer of the New York Mets and you know maybe Steve Cohen Chris said to Boris listen I’m G to top any offer so you’re wasting your time going back and forth because I’m going to top any offer and I mean that might have been a bad thing to tell Boris because at any moment Boris can be like well the Yankees off for 7:45 what are you gonna do you know and he could Coen go to $800 million like we thought it was ridiculous he can go to 700 million about a week ago now it’s obvious would he go eight years 16 years 100 um $800 million Chris what do you think I don’t think so I don’t think it’s getting that high because I do think the decision is coming today and again the reports as of last last night were 710 and 7:30 respectively and we are hearing rumors now and thank you to everybody in the chat we are also I’m looking down at my phone right now getting the latest reports um we are hearing multiple accounts right whether it is truly valid or not but again at this point with the Yankees quote unquote considered to be right there in the mix with the Mets which we all knew was going to happen between the two teams or at least between the three teams the Mets are going to have to up their offer the John Haymon tweet right let me just read this tweet word for word for the people because I think it’s important to just realize this Yankees Edge and stto Derby all things being equal Rob just mentioned it’s not equal the Mets offer is higher right now in what we are being told one Aaron judge said from the start he does not mind or care if stto makes more money than him obviously Aron judg is not even making anything in the same atmosphere as this right now and what we’re getting into these conversations and then two word is stto loves judge behind him in the lineup and as a leader in the clubhouse and then he prefaces it the caveats it by saying bidding may not be over duh you think listen the L offer for the New York Mets it’s being reported that it’s around $750 million we could deduce that it’s 15 years 50 million even for juano my question to you is and I’ve been thinking about this all night like you said you got two to three hours hours of sleep as did I because we are just thinking about this on behalf of everybody here uh coming to get the latest news and the latest updates but also the latest think pieces from us because again all these reports there’s too much to keep track of at this point but do you think and I was thinking about this from the Yankees perspective right do you think that the Yankees could have that edge in terms of not needing and I just I understand what you just said in terms of you know if on soda were to take less money with the Yankees he would have already done it but do you think that if the Yankees are anywhere between 15 to20 million in that range given that it’s only probably one million just above $1 million more aav if the Mets were 15 or2 million above what the Yankees are offering do you think’ still go to the Yankees because the easiest path to a World Series I think we can all objectively agree is in the American League sure is and the Yankees just proved that this past season so again I’m not saying that the Yankees are more talented all I’m saying is that again you would hope that he’s able to take on and wants to take on the challenge of being in the same division as the Phillies and the Braves and also in the same league as the Padres the Dodgers Etc because it is very competitive right um do you think that has a factor in it at all because I was kind of thinking about that and I’m like well if Juan SoDo really wants to win that’s the easiest way out but again at that point roster constructionwise you’re just not going to be able to feel the most competitive roster with him taking up $50 million of their payroll now again deferrals all that I’m sure that we will see some deferrals in this stto deal especially if it’s the Yankees they’re going to take out a Playbook and so are the Mets right I think that if the Mets do sign him for $750 million we’re going to see some deferrals it’s not going to be as crazy as the Otani contract but we will see some what do you think about that that thought Rob I I think he would have signed with the Red Sox or the Blue Jays or the Yankees by now if if the Mets weren’t really the Des or the national league wasn’t the destination at all but could we be honest here Juan SoDo and Scott Boris are not stupid even though the price increase I don’t think if it was the Yankees Red Sox and blue jays all fighting for and Mets weren’t involved it would have never got the $700 million because I don’t think either any team would be that desperate to go to $700 million why are the Yankees if not another team that maybe it’s a maybe the red are still involved and we’re just not sure yet why why are the Yankees going to $700 million you know why because the Mets are involved so if the American League is easy as it was last year and how much hard it could it get it’s not like many teams are going to be that much better I mean they’d probably be a little better like the Orioles are looking like they’re trying to do stuff here uh but you know is anybody you know T O’Neal was a nice signing and you know Gary Sanchez I mean okay fine but you know how much better are these teams are going to get you know you would think a little bit better but you would think the Yankees would be the favorite in the American League regardless if they don’t get want say if they do get wota that or even not I still think they still could be the favorite because I mean you know how many mistakes can you make in a postseason and you still had the upper hand in series that didn’t make sense in the American League right it’s just obvious what went on in the American League I think if he was really thinking that this this this signing would have been over already he would have been in the American League even if it wasn’t the Yankees so I just feel like Yankee fins and even some Red Sox fan because even Red Sox fans are kind of like on the Hing here a little bit and I think it’s more the fact that they want they want him over they want him at least not with the Yankees and I think they’re getting a little paranoid because it’s just starting to be obvious that woto probably wants to be in New York I I truly believe this I don’t think they are using the Mets to increase the Yankees price I think this last price this offer 710 from the Yankees is because the Red Sox were extremely close to $700 million or at $700 million right I said this from the beginning I don’t think the Yankees care if wano goes to the Mets now yeah he’ll have the back pages you know Steve Co beats out the Yankees with the money or whatever it might be but you’re not gonna have to worry about juano on a you know nightly basis you know fighting in and out for a division against you I think this offer of 710 was because I think the Red Sox probably offer offered 685 700 and the Yankees went above the Red Sox because the Yankees have to say face here when it comes to the Red Sox not the Mets right I already said the Yankees are respectable of going past $700 million that’s a respectable number even if he doesn’t sign with the with the Yankees I I mean they’re not they’re not getting embarrassed here they done their job in my opinion getting him or not I truly believe the Red Sox were close or at 700 million and the Yankees don’t want it to have come out or get reported that the Red Sox had the second best offer at this point if the Yankees are hoping Juan sto takes less money to go back to them I think this is why you heard the heon Tweet today this morning I think this is Boris once again with Wan sto using John Heyman to hey all things are equal I I I think that is just the Y Scott Bor is just trying to you know bounce up the Mets offer just a little bit more just to get a little bit more few more dollars out of one out of Steve Cohen I I Pi the decisions already made right Yankees or Mets I think it’s already made to be quite honest with you absolutely either either Haymon got that little QE from Boris saying all things are equal and the only way he’s going to the the Mets now or for the Yankees now is if it you know it is what it is at this point and to see if he gets a little bit more to scare Cohen a little bit but I don’t think Cohen’s gonna go higher when he doesn’t have to because wouldn’t you think Boris and Juan sto would go back to Cohen and say listen $ million is not enough I’m going back to the Yankees you don’t think it would have been 750 already I mean there’s rumors that it got is it’s at 750 maybe that’s the case but I I don’t see why he would be you know betting against or you know betting against himself or you know giving a big better offer or a higher offer when he doesn’t necessarily have to this is directly from Mike Rodriguez again I I kind of was he was right about Mike rodrig he was he was right yesterday in terms of the 7:30 figure and then Hy back up so again I will I will have to you know keeping his feed because again he seems like he’s on top of this um he also up at like 2 a I saw a tweet of his that he’s just waiting for for his s or whatever but he says from an analytical perspective and by the way Mike Rodriguez just stated that you know he thinks the offer is at 750 for the Mets because from an analytical perspective um it can be estimated that the Mets can attribute the fact that they’re off offering more money up to 750 because if the difference is only $20 million it is likely that soda will decide to continue his career in the Bronx so Rob I think we have to like at least give it a thought that if the difference in money is only $20 million between the Mets and the Yankees then he could very well decide to go back to the Yankees if he prefers the environment if he prefers the team if he prefers playing with Aaron judge again we all know that the Yankees lineup like it is what it is at this point right and it is his preference at the end of the day this he’s the one signed the contract um for one reason or another if the offer is only 20 more million I I have to believe that you know the Mets could be could not be the decision for Wan soda at this point so maybe they’re trying to up it and maybe the Yankees aren’t budging off 710 and that was the question I was going to ask you here as well because this is very again I think we’re approaching a territory where the Yankees are maximizing their offer and if they hear that you know the Mets are going to 750 760 770 in that range then they’re like okay this is not feasible anymore but you know what this is a lose lose situation for both teams I’m not going to lie to you and more so the Mets right because I do think that the Mets could be getting used a little bit here just to up their offer whether it’s serious or not about the smoke from the Yankees side but even in terms of the Yankees perspective just for them to be having to go to within $20 million of whatever the Mets offer is also just a terrible situation for them to be a part of but what do you think about that in terms of the Yankees and that $710 million figure do you see how Stein brener saying you know what if it takes north of 710 we got to do it because honestly 710 720 maybe for the Yankees makes sense I don’t think they’re touching 750 though personally speaking well I said it last night I don’t think I think 710 was I I think that’s where they’re at I I think you know I don’t what’s $20 million you know what I’m saying that’s what I don’t understand like it’s a million doll million and a half more per year so why wouldn’t the Yankees just match the if it’s that much of if it’s that if that’s the only reason Juan sto is is waiting for to get them up to where the Mets are right now why haven’t they done it like what what are the Yankees afraid of for another $20 million overall it’s not it’s only a million and a half dollars more now I think 750 you know you’re getting into you know three four five million dollars more per year and you’re talking about you know north of you know you possibly be talking not close to $60 million per year I don’t think the Yankees are going to go that far now if the Mets go 750 and the Yankees go 730 and juo’s like all right you got that far may maybe but again this could have been at any moment over the last couple of weeks where you know what was 67 were the Mets at 690 how about this if we find out that the Mets have been $20 million higher at every moment then why haven’t juano has signed it if he’s if he prefers the Yankees even for a little bit less money so this is what I’m saying I think there I I think that woto doesn’t care I just think that he wants to see the Yankees at least match at some point and if they don’t ever match at some point he’s gonna make a decision you know what I’m saying that that’s what I don’t understand like what is2 million at this point seriously it’s it’s only we already did the math it’s a million and a half dollars more per year that is not that much of a jump from five6 million dollar more a year if the Mets do go do 750 like I don’t what I think it’s also the timing too because they know that they can squeeze every minute of every day out of this decision going into later tonight and that’s why I actually believe that this is going to happen tonight rather than right now right now Boris is on the phone with Steve Cohen and Stein brener and just trying to get it as high as possible that’s why I don’t think Bor this whole time right I think the perspective that you’re coming from is that he would have already signed already I’m questioning that because again why wouldn’t you just wait until the last possible minute right right before the winter meetings at night and try to get that value up from either side right and again the Yankees could be or Boris could be using the Mets as leverage as well to get the Yankees up in price regardless of what the Mets offer so again we talked about the commission that Boris is going to make on this contract anyways it’s like a five% Max I’m sure he’s going to hit that Max as an agent on this contract whatever that is which is just stupid money for for Boris that he’s gonna make off this contract it’s absolutely insane but you know what good for him um yeah I don’t know man I think at this point it’s too nothing is solidified enough to State whether the Mets or the Yankees are being used because at the end of the day I think both of these teams are being used to be honest yeah absolutely like like I said I I don’t think it’s a jockeying between Mets and Yankees anymore I I just think it’s you know like you just said I think it’s just you know keep on bringing the money and you know Boris is a genius with that stuff and you know uh you know if you want to believe Bob Nightingale you know once in a blue moon he might actually be right and this is Michael Baron you know um again I don’t think he would retweet uh Bob nightingale’s quote uh saying that the New York Mets Remain the favorites Executives say but officials caution that the Yankees Toronto Blue Jays and Boston Red Sox are all and that’s the other thing Chris by the way and he says Toronto Blue Jays J the Jays the Red Sox are all in the same $700 million neighborhood so again we we know that the other two teams the Red Sox and the the Blue Jays are at $700 million so that means the Yankees are only10 million from the Jays and the Red Sox this is why I keep on saying and there’s enough reports stating remember before we went live yesterday for Juan Soo watch party day one we knew that there was four teams at $700 million possibly the Dodgers just under that so the Yankees are so that means the Mets are over 20 plus Million Dollar on at least two teams and $20 million over the Yankees so that means the Yankees think of wanto that much that they’re only $1 million more from their division Rivals so again and he also said the bidding could exceed $750 million and again I don’t think anybody else is going that far now maybe the Blue Jays will maybe the Red Sox will possibly if they’re actually involved but why I I know Haymon is a New York Post guy he is you know mostly a New York reporter basically even though he’s National yeah why did he only bring up the 730 and 710 of the Yankees and the Mets and not bring up the other teams since they are close to the Yankees you see that’s why the the the hymon Tweet when in regards to All Things quote unquote equal is not true because again why would the Jays in the Red Sox not go10 million more or5 million more to match the Yankees offer right if we’re talking about American League being easy they would they would because and it’s and and this is a great Point by you rob that I need to just state is that there is so much incentive for the Red Sox and the Blue Jays to just keep offering up more money so the Yankees have to pay more so inevitably if the report is true that he prefers the Yankees I’m not saying that it is but if that’s true then again those Al teams along with the Mets but definitely those Al teams need to keep the the the to offer respectable so like let’s just say 700 for the Red Sox right and the Yankees are at 710 the Red Sox should definitely be in on 710 because the Yankees is going to have to go more and keep offering up more money and again just driving that price up because again they’ll be out on the later free agents and I do see some questions here surrounding Max freed and the interest from the Red Sox and the Yankees on the max freed front I don’t think it has anything to do with stto I think either of those teams can get those guys and still get stto so don’t buy into whatever the max freed hype is because again I think the pitching whatever pitching candidates these teams are interested in is a different story than let’s say another bat so if you’re telling me that the Jays are gonna pivot to Santan there and the Red Sox are pivoting to tasar Hernandez I’m gonna prioritize that news more than whatever is going on with Max freed yep 100 perc and you know that’s what I that’s what I don’t understand like like why isn’t it all things equal with the teams in the AL East cuz again it’s only a 10 if it’s at $700 million for the Red Sox and the Blue Jays that means the Yankees are $10 million more right that that should mean more to a story than the Mets being $20 million more thanan when Yan being 20 million less than the Mets that that just seems like like that seems more equal than that because again I I think we can all do math here you know 730 minus 710 is $20 million right that is not equal that is a million and a half per year and again again there’s four teams that are $700 million plus so they’re either at Alan’s number um overall average for the contract or above it so he’s getting probably more than Otani right I would be shocked if the Red Sox and the Jays say all right $700 million that’s it we’re walking away too bad and you know you’re at the Otani number like I I don’t know it’s it’s it’s frustrating because everybody’s trying to pump up the Yankees in every report obviously especially John heon and again this is the genius of Scott Boris he’s not an idiot right he’s not one of the best agents in baseball even though everybody hates him you know client still flock to him right Alonzo just changed him nmo changed him right before free agency a couple other guys Jose glacius like you know even bench players are getting to Scott bors to try to get the bag so you know and this relates to Joe’s Super Chat Dicky Joe um if Soo wants to be a Yankee wouldn’t he just take 710 exactly exactly it could have been last night that’s that’s the point right if if these are all the offers and juo says final offer guys give me your best and these were the offers we got then why hasn’t it been confirmed that he’s with the Yankees yet because those aren’t final offers I truly I I honestly believe that those aren’t the final offers it’s going higher and they know that too and so my question to you is is that if you know this as the Mets right if you’re Steve Cohen and you’re hearing this and if you are able to get a legitimate feel on if these offers are truly are what they are right with these other teams what’s stopping Steve con from just saying Hey listen you need to end this right now we’re going 15 for 775 I know the Yankees aren’t going that high you know it let’s get this done why wouldn’t Steve Cohen just just do that because I also see some people saying that in the chat yeah exact I mean he just might do that at some point going to be that case right it again I don’t think Juan sto is taking less money I I just don’t believe that I I don’t think for a second East again $20 million is a distance but it’s only a million and a half per year I think we’re all okay I think that that that is a gap it’s not a huge gap but it’s a gap if if Steve Cohen goes higher and goes to 750 760 I mean how close can the Yankees get now the Red Sox and blue jays might do that but again I don’t know how serious juano is to go into the Red Sox or the Blue Jays it does it seemed like that that fire is kind of dimming out a little bit even though we all might be you know getting smoke up out buts uh and it’s been the Red Sox all along uh but I just I just don’t see Steve Co being denied here and again if it wasn’t about the most money I still think he would have signed already at any point where the Yankees were close enough or the Red Sox were close enough yeah so and this is the other point about hyon’s I guess tweet saying that SoDo really likes judge behind him okay would right and who wouldn’t correct absolutely right Aaron judge great player nobody’s gonna ever take that away from him right despite the playoff struggles still a great player I think we can objectively say that but you know if I’m want and we just went into yesterday in our stream our marathon how versatile of a hitter he is in any position whether he bats second third fourth or fifth why wouldn’t you want to be that guy who is the feared guy who’s the guy that’s batting you know the Aaron judge equivalent of your new team why wouldn’t you want to take that role on you know what I mean and so that that’s what doesn’t make sense to me is that I really hope that wodo is able and wants to take on that challenge of not needing any body to hit behind him right not needing that and again we can have the discussion about the lineups of the Mets that out and the potential hypothetical that he is a met in 2025 whether he should hit in front of Alonzo or whether he should be uh be hitting behind Francisco Lor whatever but I would like to think that SoDo wants to be that guy right and he doesn’t need an Aaron judge behind him and and and again could be and he doesn’t and everyone knows that he doesn’t so that’s why I’m kind of like I look at that and I’m like yeah like everyone would like Aaron judge behind them right understood but what like does that really make a difference in terms of him taking less money just because of that fact I I don’t buy into that at all I don’t I don’t look look he had 41 home runs last year we know a lot of that is Yankee Stadium right and I don’t think look it’s not like he had like he he hit 20 home runs one year and and 24 home runs this year and then all of a sudden 40 home runs you know with the with the Yankees right that a lot of that has to do with Yankee Stadium not Aaron judge again he’s hit you know he’s hit in 2022 he was a little bit for the most part injured but he hit 32 home runs he hit um let’s see I’m sorry I’m sorry it’s that 35 home runs in 2023 with the Padres 29 with the Nationals 34 with the Nationals in 2019 so you see the trend here right he’s a 30 plus home run guy that’s basically what he is one year he hit uh 29 around that give or take but he’s a 30 home run guy right he doesn’t need Aaron judge it’s more Yankee Stadium that I think can he’d be excited about then he could just talk about you know Fenway Park as well where he he can pepper the ball to the left field and hit the ball over the wall so I think it’s more Yankee Stadium than Aaron judge behind him to be quite honest with you because I I think sto’s such a great hitter and we we saw we we looked at the stats last night in regards to bat in order the numbers are very similar right the power might be a little bit more here or there but a lot of that wasn’t with the Yankees most of it was with the Padres when he had Machado behind him or in front of him right so let’s let’s not act like Aaron judge was the only person that that W Soo had a good year when Aaron Jones was behind him a lot of those home runs are Yankee Stadium home runs can we be honest about that I think that’s a fact Yankee fans don’t believe that then you’re nuts right home runs go up in Yankee Stadium no matter who you are right even J J Chism was showing a little bit of power as a Yankee even though he’s not a very big power hitter so you know I again it’s it’s still of the matter of nobody thought this would go past go to 700 million so again at any point every team was gonna have an offer if the Metro always $20 million more if the inubs were only $20 million left why didn’t he sign yesterday or the day before or the day before that if at some point all right we think 650 is going to be the the topping Point here so it’s either he wants the Y to get to a number and I thought it would be over 700 and it clearly is or he just says you know what I’m gonna take the highest offer let’s see how far we can go here and and that could be just the the plan in itself right Juan SLE has been groomed by Scott Boris when he was like 16 years old ever since he was signed um internationally he was a bow and B and Superstar and Boris had him very young so he groomed him into what he wants Juan SoDo to be especially the talking points Juan SoDo is not stupid look what he said right after the World Series he didn’t care about the law I mean he cared about the LW don’t let me don’t get me wrong but right after that he answered the question he goes yeah every team has a chance for me like he said that right after the World Series after a debilitating World Series defeat so don’t tell me Loyalty means anything or Aaron judge means much more than that it it’s I’m sorry it doesn’t because if that was the case why didn’t he just go into negotiation talks in the the 10 days they had between the World Series and actually becoming a free agent they could have extended with a number why didn’t he do that because he wants the most money it’s just that simple yeah again yeah but but then again it’s $20 million like this is what we have to we can Circle back to the conversation of is 20 more million enough like that’s that’s what I continue to Circle back around too I don’t I don’t have any doubts that he wants more money right like if there’s a certain threshold I feel like that the Mets have to offer more um which is and again I could be wrong though I could be wrong I mean they could offer him maybe $10 million more and he’s going to pick the Mets right because for all we know that Heyman is just like everyone’s saying puppet tweeting out for Scott Boris and that could be the case um but what I will say though is that yeah the Yankee Stadium you know aspect is 100% a a favor for them as well as you know a left-handed hitter hitting over awesome but wodo enjoys on the flip side he enjoys hitting at City Field as well he has had immense success at City Field so again and he said that too 100% And so again I don’t think that you know would he hit 41 home runs at City Field probably not maybe not right um I still think he’s 30 plus potential for sure 100% And I don’t think that the stadium Factor this again it’s kind of hard for me to weigh out if the stadium factor is enough too but um I I think that he enjoys hitting at City Field enough uh I think that home runs could easily be had at City Field as a left-handed hitter as well and again at the end of the day we’re talking about the offers against themselves and if the Mets are bidding against themselves like people are saying or the Yankees are bidding against themselves Etc which is not true because the Mets are clearly in on Juan stto the bottom line is is that I think everyone already knows this if if Steve Cohen wants to offer the moon to Boris and stto he’s going to do it right um I I’m curious do you think that Steve Cohen has a stopping point though let’s say let’s just go into your hypothetical about $800 million right let’s say say the Yankees match 750 or let’s even just say 775 for Steve Cohen 780 you think he’s going up to that territory I think he will and I don’t think that there’s any reason not to do it and I know that there’s going to be a lot of push back from fans just saying just take that money and spread it evenly across the rest of your your team it’s not as simple as that but I understand that philosophy in terms of the lineup and the pitching side of things but you know man again if the Yankees go ahead I’m not convinced I really am not convinced that the Yankees go up after uh 710 715 720 I think that’s their max if they do though I mean is there a stopping point at this point Rob is there why would there be at this point right it’s ended up being over $700 million it’s Monopoly money at this point I mean again I think there’s a limit for the Yankees I I’ve said that for a while and you know what there might be a li limit for Steve Cohen and the Mets as well because again why does Steve Cohen have to keep on bidding against himself when he has the highest offer right at some point Steve Cohen’s gonna say listen I’m 20 million 30 million $25 million more than the Yankees or the next team make your decision here right because at some point I think Steve coen’s gonna be like listen you know what I I can get a couple I can do other other things here just as quickly so I don’t think there’s a limit for the Mets I just don’t I I think Steve I think juano is his guy right he spoke about this for years about 2025 when he first took over the team one of his comments were you know we got to get to where the Dodgers level are we gotta get you know we have to be Dodgers of the east coast and you know it does take Youth and it also takes free agency and two years ago he brought up the idea of Juan sto especially when there was trade rumors about wano that the Mets weren’t really dead because their their their farm system wasn’t as good so they couldn’t really trade for him Juan stto was a discussion he he brought up especially during the offseason it is a fact that he he’s been all focused around Juan sto and they said it last off season that 2025 was the go for it year Juan sto is go going for it it’s just that simple not saying the Mets will get him but I still find it hard to believe that Cohen is going to be denied here again at any point woto could have signed out a DOT line with the Yankees at any point they were $20 million from the Mets because I think this is strategic here from Steve Cohen he clearly knows he can probably go to 750 but why should you why not if if woto signs today and stets for 7:30 he didn’t even have to go to 750 genius you didn’t have to you bid it against yourself and I think Boris is I don’t think Boris quote unquote is a liar but I think at some point he’s going to be like you know this is where woto wants the money to be and Cohen’s like okay and again if nobody believes that $20 million is not a lot $20 million is a lot for the union and I keep on going back to that because it’s important these guys are part of the players union the union is this Union is one of the most powerful unions in America all right they don’t play they were very upset the players union Association the the Reps and all that they were not happy with Aaron judge going back to the Yankees they understood because he was a grown Yankee why he took less he could have probably got 4550 million from either the Padre’s or the Giants could have up the offer he never went back to those guys remember that we forget about that part he did he made the final call to the Yankees to get the nine years to $40 million right he never went back to the Padres or the Giants to match or or go beyond that they might have wotto is doing that with the Mets that should tell you something so and again the union situation is important here that all this money that is being spent year by year averages out to next year’s qualifying offer guys that’s why every penny matters to these players that’s why they talk about you know even if they’re not going to be one of the highest players um average annual value but they’re getting a little bit more money why do you think seeno wants to the to the a right you think because he wants to go there no I’m sorry nobody wants to go to Sacramento and play in A Minor League ballpark with facilities all right could we be honest about that why did they go there the most money that it’s just that simple and the union has a lot to say with that right find me players that took less money that went to a team find it find find where they took less money and I’m not talking about the guy that took $17 million over $60 million for one year I’m talking about BigTime free agents that took less money to go to another team not their same team yeah you can’t name them you know why because when you’re the face of MLB show elani we all knew he was going to the Dodgers he even got the Dodgers to go to $700 million when he we all knew they probably could have got him at 600 they unless the Blue Jays were gonna go hundred million dollars more that probably still wasn’t enough right but the Dodgers said all right $700 million is to70 million a year technically and they got him even though everybody knew T wanted to be with the Dodgers listen I I I have this this this is just like again if Juan sto loves the Yankees as much as Haymon wants to tweet out and as much as Yankees fans want to tell us I agree with you right he would as soon as an offer stopped at a certain point he would have stopped it and said listen this is the point I’m content let me go back to the Yankees yeah he doesn’t but he doesn’t buy into the vision of the Yankees as much as Yankees fans think he does Because the bidding would have already stopped but I do think the only way that the bidding does stop and we come to a resolution sooner rather than later today is if one of these teams the Mets saying this is my final offer and going way above and beyond the Yankees offer and Steve Cohen just saying you need to make a decision right now this is the best offer or if the Yankees State listen we just can’t compete with that we can promise you everything else in the world we can promise you to make our roster better with as much as we can but this is our final offer we are not getting up to the Met’s final offer or the Blue Jays final offer Etc that’s the only way that the bding is going to stop there is zero incentive for stto and Boris to stop the bidding themselves zero so honestly I’m not even ruling out that we don’t get a decision today I’m not even ruling out that we go into Monday and and keep on having these discussions I it’s it it and it is getting tiring and I understand that people are tired of talking about it but again as much as we are tired talking about it and spending five six hours on streams talking about it it’s a necessary step in free agency because we are not going to see the correct snowball or as much of a snowball with the rest of the free agents until the WAN sto Domino Falls and again you’ll hear smoke about oh the Red Sox are pivoting to teoscar which I I I I do believe but again I have a hard time believing he’s going to be anything but a Dodger at this point given the success that he had over there and given what they’re building but yeah again I’m not confident we see a decision this afternoon I think tonight would be the earliest so what do you what you what’s your schedule like Rob are you working tomorrow are we on a stream tonight or what are we on wot to watch again yeah I don’t got work tomorrow I’m good there we go we’ll be here with you tonight after the football slate and we’ll start it back again again it will be you know it would be mostly uh you know it probably we’ll probably throw up a Mets hot stove this time just to you know relate to everything we get to a boiling point here and you know get a breaking news story and uh live stream and all that stuff as well so it it is very interesting that um I see it’s okay so you know people talking about Trey turn and yes the Padres did offer him more money but again he had a preference of East Coast he didn’t choose the Phillies just because there was other NL team or Eastern teams available right the Yankees the Mets anybody on the East Coast right this is the preference that I’m talking about here right judge went back to the Yankees right Trey Turner wanted to be on the East Coast Zack Wheeler wanted to be on the East Coast right there was a preference there Juan sto never gave us a preference now people believe he might want to be on the East Coast but then the Mets on the Yankees are equal correct right even the Blue Jays that’s why all the teams that are really involved and that’s why I think the Dodgers are kind of just like hey we’ll throw you some money here but we don’t think we’re going to the east coast if there was a preference if there wasn’t a preference then any team he can go to any team from California all the way down to the east coast and anywhere in between wouldn’t you think there would be a team like the Rangers or team somebody that has a ton of money that is willing to spend it why wouldn’t he just go there right so East Coast is a preference trade Turners East Coast was a preference absolutely so that means he didn’t turn down the Padre’s offer because of more money he wanted the preference he still got $300 million right that that’s a $42 million difference right it’s a huge difference but when your preference is the East Coast there was no other team that was offering Trey Turner $300 million on the East Coast or even more than that so that’s why he went there well apparently juodo can’t even bring a championship to the Mets um you know what apparently the Yankees either that’s right so I guess all things are really equal in that aspect huh yeah again there there’s a lot to nitpick and again there’s an argument for every team right including the Yankees obviously yeah do you do you want to talk about pitching real quick as a pivot point so Michael Baron releasing some names that the Mets are interested in I dropped a video about Roki Sasaki on my Channel today this morning if you missed it the links in the description down below of my stream uh so come on over hit that link and check that out after you’re done watching the stream right now but I don’t think Roki Sasaki is a realistic option for the New York Mets but it’s interesting with all these other names that are being floated around there obviously Walker buer Baron state um Nate eovaldi Peta uh and then obviously bringing back Shawn Manaya what do you think of course freed and burns are still out there first of all the the main question is is do you think the Mets are going to be in on burns or freed because we saw heavy smoke about the Red Sox and Yankees prioritizing both of those guys perhaps even the Orioles bringing you know Burns back what do you think about the pitching front given what this rotation is right now um what do you think right with Frankie Montas Klay Holmes SGA Peterson you know Blackburn that’s not enough obviously right and and I understand Mets fans are concerned about the pitching right as much as we are also concerned about Juan sto we are concerned about the pitching too what do you think about those names perhaps not Roki Sasaki because again I think it’s highly unlikely given the IFA pool money and just saki’s preference to be on the west coast anyways whether it’s the Padre Padres or the Dodgers that it’s not feasible right we’ll cross that bridge when it gets here he’s going to be posted in the next couple days what do you think in terms of the pitching front what is the move because we need another Ace to go up alongside kodai senga everyone’s been saying this we’ve been saying this we need it right as much as we like Klay Holmes and the value that we got out of clay Holmes in terms of signing under the projected aav that he was scheduled to make and for one less year at that awesome contract I think the Montas contract is awesome as well and will end up being a bargain 100% I really do believe that he’s got the tools and he’s got the actual Arsenal to display but what is the next move on the pitching front Juan stto side because I’ve been very adamant for every team the Dodgers not maybe not so much the Dodgers but the Yankees the Red Sox and the Mets Juan stto has nothing to do with the pitching either any one of those three teams can go get a pitcher and still be in the running for a guy like Juan stto so they are not hand inand together what do you think I I feel like they need an ace and I don’t think any of those other names are rnas and could they end up being a Shaniah type sure right but I I need a short thing here and you know again we we just assume that no news is no news but again how much R how much you know heat or new or fire was or a little bit of rumors going around that clay Holmes was a possibility except for a little bit of rumors but it was multiple teams the only interest was was that the Mets and other teams were looking at Klay Holmes as a possible starter it wasn’t very late it happened very late terms of correct mon Mont Montas came out of nowhere too so again the the whatever news you’re hearing that oh um the Yankees and the Red Sox and a couple other teams had Zoom meetings with freed and all that stuff that’s that’s fine that’s understandable but that’s great their teams leak their stuff out the Mets don’t leak nothing out right how many times Lindor for since Cohen has to taken over the team the the Lindor trade came out of nowhere there was no indication that was happening right the max Sherer deal it was all Dodgers the Mets had a two-year deal and then all of a sudden it was Mets sign sherzer how did that happen who knows same thing right Verlander was probably the only one that there was rumors about for the majority of the time and we all knew that they probably the Mets weren’t going to sign Jacob the Grom back so that was the obvious one but other than that right basically late at night Starlin Marte you know I know these guys aren’t big big guys but you know the Starin Marte Escobar canos signing all happened at the same time and nobody knew they were even talking to these guys so the Cohen situation and the way he works with even if you know it was Epler or anybody who was the GM at the time Cohen does not like leaks talking about anybody so I think reporters are frustrated with the New York Mets because they can’t get nothing out of them they have to get something out of the agent or other teams right and I don’t think the Mets leaked that number of 730 right with the pitchers so do I think they’re in on burns and freed I’m gonna say yes but I don’t think they’re going to go above and beyond to acquire those guys in my opinion I find I find I don’t think Sterns is the guy I long-term deals for pitchers are dangerous right Garr Cole is an exception Justin Verlander you know when the Astros got him exception right certain guys are an exception where you know Cole is you know Burns is a Workhorse but again I don’t know if they want to go to the six seven eight year mark for pitchers you know it’s been a disaster for a lot of teams even though you know with the the Strasburg and you know Sherer situation with the Nationals and all that as well and Corbin and Corbin as well they got a World Series out of it and they ate a hell of a lot of money when Strasburg couldn’t pitch anymore burn Corbin wasn’t the same and they traded Shera you know they so it was Sherer you know was gone as well so they won a World Series but they they’ve been eating a lot of money I mean the Nationals are still playing Sherer until 2030 that’s insane they’re playing Corbin until 20 28 they’re paying Strasburg God knows how long they’ve been fighting in court over his money and his contract so it’s crazy that I I I think that you can do it for a certain pitcher maybe Burns is that guy maybe Sterns likes him but you know people are going nuts that we haven’t heard the Mets in on Corbin Burns or freed he very well might be but again we know meth fin should not panic over something that we already know is a fact the Mets don’t leak anything winning in regards to who they’re going after again there was not much leak at all that the Mets were on the verge of sonning Klay Holmes or Frankie Monas I know these AR big names here but they’re additions to this roster that are going to be on this roster one’s going to be in the rotation or maybe both might be in the rotation but definitely one’s going to be in a rotation and one might be a setup man in our Bullpen so I I guess I’m going to say yes I think they’re going to be in on Burns or freed I don’t think they’re going to be the highest bidder though but again it’s also could be preference right you know are these guys going to get the highest to go with the highest offerers yeah because I’ve been saying it the whole time nobody really takes a lot less money unless they have a specific preference of where they want to be yeah well and the pitching market right now is just absolutely insane too I mean you take a look at the contracts being handed that we’ve been saying this time and time again so a perfect example and people want to talk about Corbin Burns and what his Market might might look like right you know I think he could be anywhere around that 35$ 36 million range um last time I checked spot Trak that’s what they had a at but in this market given the scarcity and the supply and demand right just like supply and demand applies to the wano situation the big guys that are available in free agency are free and burns that’s going to drive both of their prices up and you can deduce that burns is going to get 40 million dollar Plus in this market aav right whether he’s worth that or not whether teams have concerns of him and the strikeout rate dropping or whatever you want to say because I know that there’s a lot of talk around that again he’s an ace nothing short of it that’s the bottom line I think you agree with that as well from one of your past live streams that you talked about that um Rob but at the end of the day like that’s one area where I don’t see the Mets overspending in and they are they are going to be in on these guys but they are going to get out at the wrong at the price point that they deem fit right this isn’t Steve Cohen bidding for these pitches at the end of the day this is David Sterns building this rotation it’s not Steve Cohen right so again I’m pretty positive with what we’ve seen over the past couple of years you can go and have a star studded pitching rotation right that doesn’t guarantee you anything that doesn’t guarantee you anything you need an ace 100% you don’t need five Aces that’s just not that you don’t again I think that if anybody proved that that was the Dodgers last season right the Texas Rangers proved that as well we’ve talked about this time and time again you need an Ace and you need a competent rotation to get you to where you want to go um being the World Series and getting it done so and I think the Mets are very well approaching that territory it’s going to take perhaps an ace or a co-ace whether people agree that can be sha manah or not again that’s differences in opinion with what he’s showed last versus what we’re projecting him out to be this coming season but again kodai senga how and this is what it really boils down to me for the New York Mets right and I think that the Mets do take calculated risks sometimes I don’t agree with the calculated risks but sometimes they do and it has worked out in their favor it worked out in their favor in 2024 not to say it’s going to work out in their favor in 20125 right with the way that they went about the pitching staff but again I think they realized the shortcomings of this rotation as it stands with Clay Holmes the project being can you convert him that is can not will can they will try but they will pivot back to the bullpen if it fails Montas is a project um you know Peterson what is he gonna be but really the main question for me is how the Mets view kodai senga how confident are they in kodai senga going into 2025 given how much time he had to miss in 2024 and I’m not sure if I’ve seen Mets fans question code i s as actual talent I don’t think anybody’s actually questioning his talent but the injury and the age has to 100% be a concerning Factor the greatest asset as a player is your availability Bar None right Bar None I’ll take availability over good stats a fraction of the time right as long as you are out there able to put your best foot forward at a high rate right and K the Mets and trust and code i s it to do that in 2025 again if they take the C calculated risk that they can I think that’s a mistake but maybe that’s their reason for not being in on a Burns or a uh a freed I don’t I I wouldn’t agree with it but again just take a look at the approach factor of David Sterns and how he builds his rotations it’s to a te again early in this offseason this is how he goes about things and again this is a unique situation I’ve said this countless of times Rob this is a unique situation because the Mets have come into this offseason at a disadvantage as at a disadvantage with how many appending free agents they had in their rotation so we’ll see like I said the Mets didn’t make it easy for themselves they put themselves in that spot in my opinion right right I mean Sterns wasn’t there not blaming him right they could have signed Zack Willer a couple of years ago they could have you know Reign Jacob the Grom even though I don’t think that was the smart move because he was obviously injured and that’s basically it but again they put themselves in this situation so the faults on them on the organization not the Sterns but on the organization they put themselves up for This Disaster to end up happening where they have so many free agents in the rotation that’s on them that’s why they need a lot more and guess what if they had a rotation maybe they could really just focus on Wan sto and pet Alonzo instead of worrying about well we need three starters we need Wan stto we need pet Alonzo it’s a lot and the meth fans are asking for a lot because it’s needed and and for all the people that think that I’m a met chill or just using my Mets bias here I just killed the Mets I’m not exactly happy with what they did with the rotation because of how it was setting up for this year right if unless the Mets get a Burns or a freed I I I will not be confident going into a season with a rotation that might have manah kenga buer Montas Peterson guys like that how can you be now could they be solid absolutely and that can get you through the play to the playoffs and have a good regular season but we saw what happens when you don’t have that guy in the postseason right even the Dodgers who were pitching Bullpen games Yamamoto stepped up berer stepped up right flarity stepped up in a game in the World Series the Padres had basically the best pitching rotation out of all the playoff teams they didn’t win the Dodgers beat them right so there’s a lot of different philosophies and I and here’s the thing with Sterns Sterns always had an ace with the Brewers as a GM so he didn’t have to spend the the money that he never had from that owner to get an ace it was always woodro it was always Burns and you know I believe he wasn’t the GM but Peralta so he always had that Ace that they brought up through the system now maybe he believes Sprout is that guy or another one of the Mets pitching prospects I mean I’m not gonna I don’t want to lean on that because the Mets shouldn’t lean on that as a possible Ace you know he’s not a you know AES we don’t we don’t think right he’s not that at that level I mean he might be but he’s not a skem I don’t think anybody’s P schemes if if he’s if that’s the case then I think we’re okay we don’t need a Burns or a freed but we don’t know that yet right it’s still a question mark without Britain prospects so I I I can’t be and I already said this I will not give the Met they can get stto they can get Alonzo they can get three two more guys that are really good in the bullpen and have a really good Bullpen stto and Alonzo but if you’re going into the season as kodai SGA or if you want to say manah as an ace that’s too much of a question mark in my opinion because again this is not just about the season here you got the game six of the NLCS your goal is to get beyond that that’s the goal you can’t tell me you’re going for it in 2025 and give me a rotation of manah who had a great year and you’re hoping he can he can be what he was for the Mets after June I mean after may excuse me and you’re going to do the same thing with kod senga we don’t know if kod senga is going to be healthy right we know he can pitch well but can does s did SGA pitch like an ace the last time he was healthy he pitched very good right I think I don’t know if he can be an ace I would argue that he did Pitch at an ace level to be honest I don’t know about that I I I don’t I don’t know I I don’t feel comfortable with that I I I don’t and again right now after he pitch what six innings in total seven innings in total between season and playoffs are you confident in k no no I don’t I yeah I just I just stated that I would not Bank on him doing what he did you know the previous time that he was healthy I I I don’t think you can Bank on that I I think that if you are building the best rotation possible s’s your two I I think that he can be an ace though if he’s healthy only if he’s I well that’s the thing like I I think that’s too much of a question but we don’t know right we know about all the indans he’s thrown in Japan and everybody believe that he might break down right nobody knew and again I don’t like having an ace that we have no idea this guy go past the fifth inning for a while I just don’t like that at all that always scares me and you know the Mets clearly showed you they believed in s as they pitched him in the playoffs in big series like that annoyed me within itself but they they clearly maybe they do believe in him that much which you know worries me a little bit because all right let’s just say Deets signed manah and sign one of the other pitchers right AER flarity Baldi Peta any one of those guys with manah so you would have SAA manah or Manas s whichever one you want to put right you’ll have uh one of the other pitches that I just mentioned let’s say berer Peterson Montage those are your Five Guys you think they’re GNA go to a six men maybe they put sprout in the rotation or or another Journey men pitcher right those are your guys it leaves you hoping for one of those guys to step up as an ace even if you get Juan sto and pet Alonzo and have a really good offseason guess what you’re gonna have to get at the deadline there’s a pretty good chance you’re gonna need St and pitching a big time starter which the Mets probably needed this year which they did not get which ultimately fail them in the playoffs that’s what I don’t want there there’s guys available that the Mets need there’s need in the rotation for a Topline starter there is Need for another bat in this lineup or two that we’ve been talking about there’s a need it’s available this offseason I don’t see why you’re gonna play you know cat and mouse at the trade deadline I I just don’t understand it and this goes for any team that has needs why say well we got the the trade deadline to do that what if there’s three four five teams going after that one starting pitcher that’s top of the line now you have to compete and pay more with prospects now I don’t care about that but I know organizations do and some fans care about the prospects now we’re gonna have to be talking about giving up prospects we didn’t have to give if you just paid Burns or free that’s where I get upset about this and why the philosophy as much as the pitch and lab might work it still wasn’t enough to get you over the top it ended up being the top starters in the Dodgers line in rotation that did the job in the Met Series in the World Series against the Yankees so the pitchers did step up right manah as much as I love him as much as he pitch extremely well Ace like he did break down at the end when we needed him most s was a disaster right srino was average at best in the playoffs Jose cont was your most consistent starter I would argue that the bullpen is a bit is is just as big of a factor here in what the Dodgers did last season but bullpens are are f are fickle right I think you could put a lot of different guys together that might not have good seasons and they can have good Seasons right I mean the Yankees proved that the Brewers have proved that a lot of non names have been you know exceptional in the bullpen I I think yearby year bullpens could be good or bad year by year so I’m not the Yankees compete more with the Dodgers because the Yankees rotation was set up more in in a better manner than the I think it was Who besides Cole don’t get me rhon rodan’s a freaking disaster like he he’s an absolute dumpster fire he really is he’s just in he’s he’s inconsistent is what he is that’s not a Topline starter then in my opinion he’s inconsist a Top Line starter isn’t is a consistent every look Yankee fans when Cole’s on the mountain you feel confident you can win that game just go to the the Yankees right the only start that rhodon was really good in was Cleveland if I’m not mistaken right he was a disaster against the Royals at home and he was he was a disaster against Cleveland and wasn’t good in the in the World Series right so yeah you paid him like a Topline starter but even Yankee fans question um the consistency of rhan and not having confidence in him so like it it was it was Cole even that Cole was still solid really good but it wasn’t it wasn’t a sa young Cole of last year even though Cole was good I mean maybe it would have helped if Cole was even better like he was in 2023 but who else was after that right strowman didn’t pitch they were so scared of strowman beat on them out in the postseason you know I mean there was nothing else after that you know they they drew out Luis heel who was very good but he was he’s you know not proven in the playoffs obviously because he’s so young has a great arm but they didn’t like every every team that they faced the starting pitching was better for the Royals the starting pitching was better for the guardian well technically not because the guys were hurt but they did did anybody other than Cole had better starters than the Yankees and then the Dodgers as well they just ran into a buzs saww so you know I I don’t believe the Yankees had a good rotation right Yankee fans All Season were complaining about rodon every step of the way right Yankee fin bolstered up strowman like he was the greatest thing ever he’s not a good pitcher strowman is not a good pitcher he pitches the contact in a small ballpark in Yankee Stadium and he didn’t pitch well and the Yankees paid him like he was a number three strowman’s a number four or five at best and they paid him like a number three or even number two that was a good amount of money they gave strowman and I I think strowman’s a gamer but his stuff doesn’t relate to him being that much of a gamer right you know I think he tries to you know put fear in batters with his with his with his Cockiness with his you know with his you know with the Cockiness and acting like he’s better than he is he did it with the Mets and he’s obviously doing with the Yankees he’s not strowman of the Blue Jays at all I mean really at this point I don’t think he’s a fact but other thing about the NLCS talk with the Mets and the Dodgers is that listen the Mets had a lot of Chances with runs in scoring position that they failed in as well we don’t talk about that enough we don’t talk about that enough I mean games were lopsided right in any there was like not many close games right in that NLCS it was just a blowout win for the Dodgers and then the blowout win for the Mets and um it just was had that kind of feel to it too but there’s a lot of missed opportunities across the board I mean even going back into season with this lineup right there’s a lot of missed opportunities so we can go back and just talk about right even like a guy like pet Alonzo if he’s coming back or not the runners and scoring position approaches have to be better they have to be better so again I know we’re talking or you know we’re talking about the pitching front and kind of transitioning to that from the Juan sto but you know it’s it was a combination of a lot of things and on paper I think right the Dodgers were just the better team at the end of the day I mean constructed as constructed they were the better team and again it showed so that’s it’s it’s a culmination of a lot of things right the bullpen for the Mets last year um was not as good as the Dodgers the lineup was the top five right was not as I guess clutch if you will in terms of passing In With Ear scoring position as the Dodgers was and the starting pitching as well to your to your point was not as good as the Dodgers starting pitching and that was with them missing missing glas now and and not having show pitching right they had to do it with ber um they had to do it with Yamamoto they had to do it with um flare and those are three really good options at the end of the day too let’s not discredit that I know ber had a five plus erra again I I don’t think the Mets care about eras of the past or else they wouldn’t have gotten Frankie Montas that’s not what they’re looking at they’re looking at projectability and the type of stuff that these guys have which Walker berer still has prettyy good stuff I know that Savant Paige doesn’t really show it as much but he does um but yeah let’s again the fallback options that the Dodgers had to work with even having those guys was just absolutely insane they they weren’t at 100% strength and they still had to fall back on flare Yamamoto and ber that’s that’s textbook in terms of the depth that a team has it’s textbook yeah and and and look I know Yankee fans are talking about the series was closer than it looked it wasn’t it really wasn’t right yeah the games were closer but it it didn’t feel like the Yankees were going to win that series it never did it never at all at I mean I’m sorry I’m sorry fans there was no way it didn’t feel that way at all maybe game one but after that man it was it was it was Cru cenal for the Dodgers right I mean again you guys made mistakes just like you did against Cleveland and the same thing you did against Kansas City and Kansas City and Cleveland didn’t capitalize on those mistakes the Dodgers capitalized on every mistake the Yankees made because they made it throughout the postseason they just played inferior teams that couldn’t capitalize on those mistakes you would have never made the World Series if you had a team that capitalized on mistakes like the Dodgers did sorry it was just that much of a difference and again that was and you could say the same thing with the Yankees right the Dodgers had other pitchers that were you know that have Topline stuff that stepped up the Yankees didn’t have that after Cole Cole what else could Cole do for Kad right I think I you know Cole’s a great pitcher but what else could he do nobody helped him out I think pissed off by opting out too that’s why he was pissed off I’m pretty sure he’s pissed off the organization absolutely and you know Rizzo couldn’t cover the bag judge couldn’t catch a ball right vulpi couldn’t throw the third base on an easy play Chisum couldn’t pick a ball that was a hard play for Chisum but you know little things like that the Guardians and the the the Royals couldn’t capitalize on it the Dodgers capitalized off the mistakes that’s why I’m saying guys the Yankees did not play well in any series The capitalizing of the Dodgers was why they won the World Series and that’s that was them throughout the playoffs it was they they capitalized on the Padre’s minimal mistakes that they made they they capitalized on the Mets mistakes and that’s what they did and and that that’s what it was and you know you can still go back to the Yankees not hitting enough but it also was the terrible defense and the terrible base running of the New York Yankees they did that the entire postseason and it was obvious that the Yankees had an easier easy path to the World Series right they got there and you give them credit for that right it’s still you still got to get there they got there but the the mistakes that they made specifically in the guardian series that if they played a better team they would have never got out of the AL ALCS and and we they all know it the Guardians basically took you to the brink the Guardians who had one starting pitcher of relevance they were throwing Bullpen arms for like three four five innings that guys that they didn’t even do it all season every day they were throwing the same pitchers and that’s another thing they kept on seeing the same pitches every single game three four three four Innings it was crazy like if the Guardians would have beat the Yankees I mean the Yankees might have they moved in Nebraska that’s how embarrassing it would have been the Guardians weren’t very good they played in the AL Central that was garbage the Royals same thing like we do we all forget about that they had one of the worst teams in baseball history nobody was really good the targets popped out at the last minute it it was the it was the Guardians division easily in one of the worst divisions in baseball yeah that’s an easy path that was an easy path it’s undeniable look they still had a win to get there or it would have been an embarrassment but job yeah exactly right you don’t take away them getting into the World Series but let’s not act like the Yankees played well in that World Series because they did not game game the fifth inning in game five was it was a whole picture one whole picture of that inning with how the Yankees played all postseason that’s what they did the whole postseason like let’s not act like the Yankees played well here and again guess who played well Yankee fans wanted to trade gr col Stanton for four years now yeah he’s been your best postseason player and Juan stto that was the guys that got you to that point both of those guys Yankee fans can’t wait every year want to get rid of John call Stanton yet he’s your best postseason player and Juan sto who you have for one year you haven’t been to the World Series since’ 09 and since Judge has been a a Yankee so that’s a fact so there you go and Joey you might be right I am a clown you know what I’m I’m I’m absolutely a clown but you’re a clown acting like the Yankees were were a good postseason team because they weren’t yeah they they def they they definitely weren’t I mean yeah I agree Stan really I mean took the pressure and the load off of um you know Aaron judge I mean he outperformed Aaron judge in the playoffs let’s be honest um and oh before I say anything else uh yeah I mean I mean aren’t Yankee fans clowns for being on a Mets Channel I mean I can show you these Yankee YouTubers that are probably hanging out right now uh checking you know doing great contact like they do Joey I might not know what I’m talking about you know that’s why you might be right I don’t know but you’re here watching for the last three hours yesterday and today so congrat congratulations to you right I don’t ask you to be here you don’t have to be here right go to your Yankee your Yankee fans channels like they got great content go there enjoy yourself Yankees are were an embarrassment in the playoffs it’s just that simple Joey you’re right I was wrong about that you’re allowed to be wrong right I I think I’m we’re allowed to say that right we’re not I never said I was always right trust me wrong all the time all the time that’s half the fun honestly coming back and tell telling you guys how we were wrong um my question to you to Pivot away from this Yankees nonsense again 24 is 24 um listen pivot Points let’s talk pivot Points Rob because the obvious pivot point I don’t think okay let’s just get this out the way as much as I like tcar Hernandez as a player there’s no chance that even if the Mets miss out on Juan sto there’s no chance that I see tcar Hernandez coming to the New York Mets and that’s just like no factual information behind that that’s just my gut feeling so I think santand is a little bit more of a realistic Pivot Point again if you’re missing out on Wan stto if you are trying to pay wotto 750 775 as we’re talking about in this stream on this watch party you need to go and get two bats right I would argue you need two bats with Pete Alonzo alongside pet Alonzo so that outside of santand there with Adamas being off the board as we heard earlier this off Seas uh season that Adamas could be a plan B not only for the Mets but also for the Yankees what do you see as the next bat to go after outside of Anthony santand there like who is that next bat well I would have said adamus said I would have said I mean I don’t know that’s the issue that is that is the issue the Mets and the Yankees are gonna run into right if they don’t get Juan stto whoever doesn’t get Soto are are kind of in a pickle right are the Yankees GNA spend north of $180 million to land pet Alonzo I mean they need a first baseman right you know could they trade for Bellinger you know the Mets an example if I don’t know like in the Met Cas I I honestly don’t know if it’s that’s why I think that they might have to Pivot to Anthony santand there like I don’t know who else is there unless there’s a trade out there that we don’t know about you know you know Bellinger could play right field but do to Mets want to trade for Bellinger like is that going to excite the fan base I I or I don’t know I honestly you know I you know what it’s gonna take a while to really look at a picture and think of you know because what other free agents are really out there that you can be satisfied with that can help you with pet Alonzo or in another case another bat I don’t know Met’s fans aren’t gonna want to hear this because I know that everyone loves you know the Mark ventos at third base kind of thing and I do too I think he held his own really well but again the advanced metrics that he had still a subpar year defensively at third base the metrics not the naked eye test cuz again I think he held his own 100% especially given with how the season started you can go and get an Alex bregman right as people are saying in the chat you can do that and I would be all for that now I do get a little bit worried because again you just heard a report of the Astros offering up a six-year 100 I believe $60 million deal just around there for bregman and him turning it down because he wants to get up to $200 million presumably just like pet Alonzo right um that scares me a little bit but will the Mets overpay for a bat for the sake of overpaying because again if you are trying to beat the Dodgers you need to throw a competent lineup out there and Juan sto clearly gives you the best chance in doing that but let’s just say on the off chance that the Mets don’t get Juan stto you’ve got pet Alonzo to resign presumably you’ve got Anthony santand there I like the Mets lineup 10 times more with stto and pet Alonzo than than ponzo and sand are 100% because I do think that sand is a great player obviously the defense is non-existent just like Juan stto is but the Home Run potential is there he’s not going to hit for average though he’s not gon to hit 280 290 like wano right and I know that a lot of people love the average like and again I don’t buy too much into it but if that’s what you want to measure as a success rate right San de is Gonna Get You between what 230 240 perhaps 250 if you’re lucky in that category he’s not the highest OBP guy as well if I’m not mistaken I like a particular trade the Mets could look for trades I would have said Brent Rooker but it seems like the Athletics are staying still adding on to the team and trying to at least be competitive which is shocking to me but I kind of respect it at the end of the day um just why did they have to wait to leave Oakland to do it that the timing of it all is just pretty funny I really would have liked Brent Rooker and I talked about him but I think the Athletics have stated that he is off limits he’s not going anywhere um and also a name that people also really aren’t talking about because everyone want to talk about the Garrett crochet trade front with the white socks I understand this guy’s been up and down in terms of his health and it’s major thing to bank on but Luis roer Jr I like I like his Bat as well I like what he can provide and the upside that he has uh it may be a package deal with the Garett crochet you could talk about if the Mets really are desperate and I’m not saying the Mets are desperate and it just seems like the Mets will never be desperate under this David Stern’s regime and they will wait and if they don’t get what they want they will go into the season and just figure it out um at least until the trade deadline but Luis Rober Jr but if you’re talk you know if you’re selling man Luis Rober Jr then there’s too many outfielders on this team because Starling Marty is gonna have to go somewhere else you’re gonna have Siri you’re gonna have Taylor nmo and then roer so again that doesn’t really make sense to me as well that’s why I think an infielder is a lot more likely and if the Mets were interested in adamus playing third base for them I think think that bregman uh could be a Pivot Point again very competent bat definitely is overvaluing himself as is a lot as are a lot of other people uh on this market so I don’t know man it’s it’s kind of a crapshoot after Anthony Santan there and again I would love to Oscar Hernandez I just I just don’t see him leaving La that’s why I don’t believe the reports of uh him going to Boston really at this point yeah um Joselyn lovely comments by the way and no I won’t block you because I’m not that type of person but you talk about the Mets bag Clubhouse we had one of the best club alyses in baseball and that was a fact even the Yankees said that after we swept you in the season they even Yankees trolls of course I know yeah oh J again yes you made it to the World Series and again inar in embarrassing fashion you did yes the Mets also made the World Series in 2015 right yeah you won 2009 that was 15 years ago you were in diapers I mean come on congratulations I understand that and we we understand that and again the rent free Yankee fans have with the Mets on their mind is amazing to me shouldn’t you be worrying about the Red Sox shouldn’t you be worrying about other American League teams oh right because the American League [ __ ] sucks that’s why you don’t have you have to worry about the Mets because you don’t have to worry about the American League because you guys are embarrassed embarrassing the American League is embarrassing oh look 85 oh you say 85 Joey you’re wrong Joey you’re not allowed to repeat you’re not allowed to correct yourself right that’s what you said about me right so there you go so Yankee fans need the troll because they don’t have to worry about the American League because Aaron judge become being an MVP and bat 190 and strike out 25 times and still make the World Series that’s how bad the Yankees were because the American League is garbage and we all they all know it they won’t admit it and it’s cute and I do apologize if one of my uh moderators do delete uh block you it’s not me my hands are here just so everybody knows that right I don’t like to block people unless you’re racist or in another aspect being disrespectful completely racist and sexist to anybody that’s a subscriber all right just so you know that I don’t care if you troll me and troll the meth fans that’s fine right this is what it’s all about right but don’t be racist R don’t be sexist and he won’t get blocked at least on my channel so there you go sorry Chris I just had to say that yes the American League is Garbage Guys why don’t you I mean guys are we paying attention here like you don’t want to admit that that’s fine but it’s a fact right you had one of the worst teams in baseball history in the American League the americ League Central was one of the worst divisions ever in baseball and the AL West was subpar like what are we talking about here the Yankees were one of the worst teams in baseball for two months and they still were able to win a division and they still ended up having a buy that’s how bad the American League was let let’s just talk a little bit of facts here I I think we’re allowed to say that it’s fine again you still had to do the job and the Yankees did their job and that’s a fact sorry KZ you can talk I sorry about that that’s my fault no it just it just seems like your chat my chat chilling right now there’s there’s not many Yankees fans in my chat I know your chat I don’t know I don’t know what’s going on I’m kind of at a loss too so anyways who cares it’s a woto watch party I mean the Yankees fans are obviously welcome in here um we we we we like Yankees fans I like Yankees fans there’s certain Yankees fans that I won’t entertain and I’m not sure why you’re really entertaining it right now but honestly at the end of the day again um trolls are going to be trolls and that’s really the end the end of the discussion so I I agree though listen like listen at the day everyone knows that the NL is tougher than the AL the AL East is a tough division right the Red Sox are good have been good right we’re not denying that but I think objectively when you take a look at the path to the World Series it’s the toughest in the NL which is why I opened up this stream with the fact that this could also play into the factor of Juan SoDo potentially choosing the Yankees with him knowing that the AL is an easier path and I would hope that he’s willing to embrace the challenge of coming to the NL and helping the Mets STP you know the Braves who are getting Strider back they’re getting aunia back and they’re going to be better than what they were in 2024 I have no doubts in my mind but like man I think it’s I think it’s pretty objective at this point that the easiest path to the World Series is through the Al and that was proven right this past season as soon as the Astros were elim ated that opened up the doorway for the Yankees to go to the World Series and again the Mets are still even coming off of an NLCS appearance you know there’s a lot of concerns in terms of getting back there and really the Dodgers are an easy you know team to just State why we are concerned about getting back there and getting over the hump but also you take a look at the Braves man like you know I know we’ve had a couple of Braves fans in the chat in the past but like I got to give hats off to their organization we give credit where credits do the Braves are going to be a better team than what they showed in 2024 they were injury ridd they had they had guys that were missing down the stretch I’m not going to deny that just because we’re Mets fans we’re going to call SP of spade always we know that we know that we’re not naive to that fact and it’s gonna take a hell of a lot more in terms of upgrades to try to compete with the talent level of that roster the talent level so yep agree and that’s you know that’s that’s the other thing right there’s national leue team I mean look at look at the teams that are going to that are already better and probably are gonna get better right the Phillies were considered the one of the best teams in baseball other than the Dodgers right that was the all the talk right the Mets beat the Phillies last time I checked and they beat him in simple fashion in four games right people forget that too right I’m not going to go saying the Brewers were a really good team but they were solid but I mean they they were along the the roads of the AL Central type teams right that that’s kind of where they fit right because the NL Central was not very good better than the AL Central but the NL Central wasn’t very good so I’m not going to say oh the Met beat the Brewers great job by them they did their job but it wasn’t a great team the Phillies were considered one of the best teams of baseball probably top three if not top two and and that was a fact and the Mets couldn’t beat obviously the best team the Dodgers just like the Yankees so you know in theat here saying that objectively the uh what was this what was this comment here a fan of a literal AL East team just said Dodgers mats Padre’s Braves are probably the best four teams in baseball I mean we’re not making this up I mean the NL is objectively better I think that I mean you you you can still be a Yankee fan and objectively say the Yankees had an easy path that’s f look there’s nothing wrong with that look I’d love for the Mets to have an easy p in the National League I hope everybody sucks I would take that too 100% who would take that I’m not saying that you can’t you know wear the World Series Hat wear the World Series Jersey you know gloat that you in the World Series that’s all great that’s a fan but objectively it was true like you got to be fair about that it it was an easier path and that’s again there’s nothing wrong with that but objectively saying that the NL was better is is is actual it’s okay shout out to Grant though good morning Grant I saw that earlier early in the chat sh coming to Houston on opening day when the Mets go to um Houston for opening day I will be there and I will be supporting your bar I might even do a stream there in your bar buddy whichever one you want me to do boom there you go there you have it I have yet to go to Houston heard it’s a nice city um Joe’s asked what’s your thoughts on Tyler O’Neal going to the o yeah again this is this is the types of signings that this is what the O’s are right there I don’t then this is why Anthony santand presumably leaving right they’re not gonna pay sand the money that he wants um I like the Tyler O’Neal signing he had a really good year for the Boston Red Sox um you know I with him too is just a consistency Factor that’s really what it is so I think it’s a good signing for them I mean for me the O’s are an anomaly again they are kind of um a team where they have a blend of Veteran presence and they’re trying to figure out where the youth plays in and what’s the correct order of you know that lineup and trying to work everything in so I think that they’re going to be right where they were last season and it just seems like they they can’t whenever they get to the playoffs they can’t get over that hump yeah that’s an issue with them that’s an issue with them it’s it’s an established issue with them and it goes back to the buck show Walter days it really does and so I’m I that point you got to wonder if it’s organizational or whatever it is but you know I wish I like O’s I I objectively like the Orioles and everything that they’ve got going on and I think they rebuilt the right way and they have exceeded my expectations in terms of their rebuild so again this is what makes the AL e tough and we’re going to admit that but objectively if you go into a playoff series against the Orioles I mean historically speaking you feel pretty good about your chances and is with them having Corbin Burns because what was the one thing with the Orioles back in the sh Walter days when they failed to make it to where they wanted to go it was the pitching they didn’t have the pitching they finally got Corbin Burns and they still like Corbin Burns pitched what a eight inning one run ball game for them or something like that in the Wild Card series and he still lost that game I’m pretty sure correct uh John B D super still confident Soo comes to the Mets yeah until otherwise said like like we never reigned from that right the news are the news again the Mets still have the highest offer again until Soto proves us wrong and he takes less money to go either to the Yankees or elsewhere I still think it’s gonna be the Mets I’m still confident in that because he did not sign yet so again if he was taking less money and we still haven’t heard there was some rumors the Mets might have gone 750 but again we know the Yankees aren’t going either they look like they’re not matching the Mets because when the the rumor was 600 650 clearly the Mets were the highest offer and around the Yankees were probably under that somewhere and again I think the Yankees up the offer over 700 because the Blue Jays and the Red Sox were at 700 I think that’s the reason why they jumped not because of the Mets again I say this again and again and this is being truthful to Yankee fans and this is probably what I believe Yankee fans aren’t worried or excuse me the Yankees aren’t worried if Soo goes to the Mets yeah the back pages are the back pages you don’t win on the back pages yeah it’s fun and all that and some people might hang it up and all that maybe me who knows right that’s you don’t win on you win on the field right we all know that it would be a disaster if stto goes to the Blue Jays all the Red Sox that’s when the Yankees will have a huge issue that’s what they’re trying to avoid because Soo going to the Mets why do the Yankees care about that same thing the Mets Soo going to the Yankees he’s in the American League he doesn’t affect the Mets like he did with the Padres or the Nationals that’s a huge difference now you got to play them 13 times a year and possibly in the playoffs in the first couple of rounds before the World Series the only time I would have to worry about stto being a blue jay Red Sox or Yankee is the World Series and let’s all get there first so that’s what I keep saying when it comes to the confidence level with the Mets if he goes to the Mets I’m going to be ecstatic of course I am just like Yankee fans if he chooses a Yanke is going to be ecstatic and probably troll the Met fans because that’s what they do but the Yankees and the Mets are Bid against each other for that same player obviously but they’re not going to put their heads in the dirt if they choose one of the New York teams because it doesn’t affect them except this off season where they have to Pivot now which I think both teams might have a hard time doing right does now I think the Mets could go after Anthony santand there I don’t think the Yankees are GNA do do it because all they talk about is Dominguez being a possible option if they don’t get Juan stto so Domingas would be a center field the judge would being in right field and left field could be you know a stop Gap type player it could be an average player right maybe they do go after Alonzo but I don’t think the Y are gonna pay 80 plus million dollars for Pete Alonzo they might get Christian Walker and again spreading the money might be the best for B Teams at the end of the day right I think Joey said that in the chat are the one of the Yankee fans right I we all might be wrong here and getting stto might hurt our chances to get other players we think it might lean more towards the Yankees having trouble because H already said he doesn’t want to go over that luxury that third luxury tax that Steve Cohen tax there’s no the Mets have $140 million off their pay $ 150 million of to play with before they even get to that point so they have that flexibility the Yankees are very close to that point if they sign juano to 50 plus million dollars so it might be beneficial for both teams to spread the money to the pitch in to two more bats that’s not Wan sto but the the Yankees and the Mets are telling you otherwise they believe that Juan sto is the guy to get and that’s why their offers are over $700 million so we might believe that spreading the round might be the better option overall again we don’t know that it has to be played out on the field but the Yankees and Mets are telling you and the Blue Jays and the Red Sox that they’re telling you he’s worth $700 million and he’s worth what we’re trying to do here so the bidden war is telling you that they believe Soto is that guy so whatever we believe is just opinionated or is just our opinions and you know trying to you know Ed the you know put something out there in the air to you know to have a conversation but the Yankees are met specifically are telling us that they believe wano is that guy and spreading it around to other players is not going to make the teams probably better everybody I think Yankee fans and mechin can agree here which is very you know very less often but no team is gonna be better without wano could we agree with that not saying they can’t win 95 games make the playoffs but Yankee fans seen what wota did in the playoffs meth fans seen it with the Nationals they seen it with the Yankees they go to 2022 wild card look what the what Juan soda did to the Met even though he I think he hit one home run he destroyed the Mets base hit after base hit he’s outstanding in the playoffs that’s why the Mets and the Yankees and the Red Sox and the Jays want him because what he does in the playoffs he has great season numbers but he becomes another Godly player in the postseason that’s why I want Juan soda because what he can do in the playoffs he puts a team on the next level that’s why I’m confident he can he’s still going to the Mets because they have the highest off at this point sorry I went off board there but I agree that’s why that’s why I also think that there’s no limit for Steve Cohen in terms of the sto sweep Stakes because again as we just tried to have a discussion about pivot Points it’s getting it’s very thin the pivot Points are very thin after Juan sto so those teams are gonna have to get creative right whether it’s the Mets the Yankees or anybody else those teams are going to have to get creative in terms of other signings and the supply and demand Factor will also kick into effect with those guys too because everyone who misses out on wano is going to be after those guys as well and then you have to get created with the trades so and I do think this is a lose lose situation for both teams in terms of the overall value that they’re giv out but they understood what this was going to be right signing up for it in terms of being interested in W soda from the start but Moth Man said it like I think that if there’s one team that this is a bigger loss for in terms of if a price goes up to a certain point it’s the Yankees the Mets have more to work with right and M man said crippling the Yankees pockets that’s exactly right that’s exactly what it would do for the roster allocation for the rest of their team it’s true it’s absolutely true just a little bit of report in here uh Julian garte he’s the MLB minor league reporter for Mets and Yankee so he’s for Latino Sports um he put out there that um Hector Gomez on Instagram live confirmed that the bidden for sto is $750 million plus and that the decision could come tomorrow New York teams at the top of course so are we taking it with a grain of salt what do you guys think in the comments Chris what do you think yeah I think it’s getting up to 7 I think if it’s 750 already if the report’s true again Hector Gomez is a little bit of a shot in the dark in terms of his history of reporting I feel like Rob man I just want to like they just you gotta take we got to take a breather at some point this hurts the Yankees in a met so much if it’s tomorrow because again they could do they could be doing more you know not saying that they can’t do more like I think Cohen and Hal steinber are leading the charge on the sto situation so Stern and Cashman are probably out there doing other things I I think we can all understand that I think we’re we’re on board because I don’t think cash look Cashman didn’t even want to give nine years $40 million to judge it was H St burner that called up judge for that yeah so I don’t think Cashman is very excited about this number or number of years or amount and I don’t think Cohen gives a [ __ ] and Sterns is like all right this is Cohen’s Baby let me leave him alone and let me you know sign clay holes montage and worry about the pitching and maybe Pete Alonzo you know and this is why I said this is why I said I wouldn’t be surprised if it comes later tonight or tomorrow because there’s no incentive for the bidding to stop but what does worry me and this is kind of a lens that I’m trying to take out of this is that you know I don’t think the Yankees are up to 750 right I think that 750 if that report is true from Hector Gomez is going to be the Mets like that’s what the Mets are at the Mets are the top bids are going to be the top bids is the extra time in favor of the Yankees for Wan think he can to say Yankees like go up to this price please is it you have to be you have to you have to think about it the very there’s a great argument for that but at some point is Juan soda going to get frustrated that the Yankees are not getting closer to the Mets is there gonna be a frustrating factor to it where it’s like all right every time Cohen’s going up $20 million more and you’re not meeting that you go up to that and Cohen’s meeting that he goes you know what what if the Yankees say all right Cohen got 750 all right 770 why don’t you give a bid above the Mets instead of just matching them because this goes back to the same thing they they’re the pin stripes on another level which is true historically yes but we talked about this and I think y can can agree the Yankees aren’t the Yankees of old it’s not the same anymore it’s not that same feeling as it was in the late 90s even the early 2000s it’s not the same so if the Yankees are still living on that on that pedestal that they’ve got knocked off ever since the curse of the benino has been shuck down it’s not been the same Yankee you know Ora the Yankee go the The Ghost of Yankee pass hasn’t been the same so if the Yankees and I I think the Yankees do have not the fans because I think the fans are kind of on the board it’s like you know all right we know we’re not the same Yankees as the late 90s early 2000 I think Yankee fans are on board with that but I think Cashman and steinner and the Yankees executive are still you know Randy LaVine they’re still on that we are still the Yankees of old they I still believe they they think that that players will go to them because they’re just the Yankees and they’ll take less money I don’t think I think I think it’s the opposite Rob I think that they realize that this is an opportunity for them with the decline of that notion that they are the evil empire this is the opportunity for them knowing that their fans have lost a little bit of that you know trust Factor even if you know Yankees fans want to come on here and say we’re still the evil empire blah blah blah whatever they know down that the Yankees these Yankees are not the same as the old Yankees especially in terms of what’s going on up front with the ownership and the GM and how they do their negotiations this could be why they’re so adamant on retaining Wan stoto at all costs too because they know that this is New York versus New York and if they let juano go across you know other side of town to the Mets that’s going to be a bad look this is more of a bad for the Yankees than it is the Mets do you think so though because you know look it’s been a lot of talk that Steve Cohen really hasn’t gotten that big time guy yet right the I already said it I I don’t think the Yankees are losing face here they’re already up at $ 700 million if he goes to the Mets you know what the Yankee fans are gonna say he’s a bad Defender he’s a bad base runner you can have him for that price but if the Yankees got him for the similar price oh thank God he would never go to the Mets like so that’s the conversation that I don’t think the Yankees are gonna I I still think the Yankees save face by having higher offers than Boston and the Blue Jays because I think that matters more than just the back page in New York but you know what how many Yankees fans are in our chat and they continuously talk about the Mets they also will behind closed doors kill their Organization for for letting stto go to the Mets I do believe that base will the fan not not the organization but they have to stay face with their own fans though you don’t think that well yeah I think they did that with going over the Boston Red Sox and the Blue Jays I don’t think I don’t think deep down the organization cares that he goes to the because again it doesn’t affect them except for a couple of back pages and probably during the winter meeting the Yankees can sign Anthony San there and Coan Burns tomorrow if soda goes to the Mets and that’s a good offseason for the Yankees you know what I’m saying so like I I don’t feel like it’s that much of a safe you know an embarrassment if he goes to the Mets at this point I think the Yankees wanted to make sure that it doesn’t get leaked out that the Red Sox and the Jays have bigger offers than them that’s an embarrassment you can’t have that you can’t have that I think that again does isn’t it telling that the me the Yankees have not matched the Mets offer and it keeps on being $20 million less like say if the next news comes out that the Mets are at 750 Yankees are at 7:30 here we go with the $2 million difference again they’re telling you something that they think all right yeah we want Juan sto but we did our job in beating the Red Sox and the Blue Jays right I still believe Boris is using the Blue Jays and the red to up the Yankees offer not the Mets I think the Mets want to be $20 million plus more than the Yankees because it’s time for Steve Cohen to really open up the pocketbooks and saying I am not being denied for this guy again why wouldn’t he be a Yankee ready if the price is already astronomical as a Yankee he’s already passed the Otani number as a Yankee he would be with the Yankees and have a higher number than Otani isn’t that everything that some Yankee fans are saying that he wants so that argument is starting to go out the window to me I think the argument that can be had is that the Yankees right now needed to be higher than the Red Sox and the Jays who were reportedly at $700 million if not a little bit more so for all we know the Blue Jays and the Red Sox could have been at 705 and the akes went 710 and the the Mets number had nothing to do with it that that that’s a real possibility and again all this is going to come out over the days when wo signs that’s why I want it to happen today but again guys Boris is not an idiot the Mets and the Yankees are not an idiot they are not going to compete with news on football Sunday during games they’re just not going to do that right the Browns and the Jaguars will have more eyes on them than Soo signing with the Yankees Ona mens it’s just a fact maybe York not New York but nationally I don’t think it’s a good there’s a reason why officially MLB winter meeting start tomorrow and not on today even though the official day is today everybody’s there now or going to be there today but the official day is tomorrow because they don’t want to compete with football Sunday right all the MLB Network shows start late tonight and tomorrow morning you can look at it both ways I’m still trying to understand which side of the fence I’m willing to lean on in terms of if he is trying to go back to the Yankees with the final offer or this is or this means that he’s just not confident in what the Yankees are doing as an organization and why it’s taking so long the both arguments could be had but what I will say is that you if you thought deferrals were possible at 700 can you imagine what the deferrals are going to look like at 750 7 both teams for both teams more see here here’s what I believe I believe both teams have similar opt out and similar deferrals whatever price it would be to be honest Y and you almost have to match that like if one team proposes that you almost have to match the same thing as that team I think it would be game over if if a team let’s say if the Yankees didn’t have an OP out and the Mets did Juan SoDo might just take the guar the guarantee even though the player option is the player option I mean you could say anybody’s the favorite but let’s just say like one contract opt out is a little bit different than the other team you would he would favor the team with the better overall contract when it comes to opt outs deferrals and all that like what if the Yankees are deferring $150 million and the Mets are not deferral in a penny I mean you would think he would have signed with the Mets already right I think that deferrals and the opts are very similar for both teams yeah just so I’m sorry Chris go ah no no go ahead go ahead I was just gonna say just so everybody knows me and Chris are probably deciding up until kickoff 1 pm is when we’re going to end the stream if he doesn’t sign by then I doubt it’s going to be between the 1 and four o’clock games during that time I think it might be after the four o’clock games end or right right when that the games are going on so the the Nightly News will be all about Juan stto and I think it’s gonna be either tonight if not over the next hour tonight into tomorrow now unfortunately are we going live tonight oh yeah I might we might just do a Mets hot stove and just call it a day I was going to say because we have we have uh we’ll probably have other reports to talk about too well that’s the other a Poss right the whole time when wo was being talked about with the Mets in high offers they signed Montas and homes so they’re clearly you know the Yankees haven’t done nothing other than talking rumors about Wan stto so that’s the other thing the Mets are doing work to improve their roster and to obviously they have to fill their 40 man roster as well so they’re doing other things while being in on this is why I’m saying that cashman’s on the back burner here and I know Cashman talked to Freed and I think they had a conversation with Burns but they haven’t signed anybody that’s why I believe Cohen is leading the charge on aoto issue and Sterns is cooking on the other end of the other options right star is not gonna sign Anthony santand there because that kind of counteracts the stto situation so the right field situation makes no sense to talk about s andar tooto signs maybe Sterns is up talking with pet Alonzo maybe it’s a back to back maybe it’s Soo today Peter Alonzo tomorrow I think that could be a very I truly believe that Soto and Alonzo have a lot to do with the Mets I think it’s gonna be within a few days those sign if the Mets sign Juan stto pet Alonzo is getting signed over the next couple of days with the Mets in my opinion I agree with you I think they go hand inand 100 perc I’ve been saying that um and I think I saw a report out there I’m not sure if it’s true or not I don’t think it’s true uh given I I’m just remembering the account that uh tweeted it out and I won’t say it but um just the idea of it at least the philosophy of it do you think right that when they start negotiating with Boris for Pete Alonzo do you think that Pete Alonzo will give the Mets the opportunity to match well there was a report out there I don’t know who said it but I think it was a a legit reporter I know who I I know who I saw it from and it wasn’t that account isn’t legit but I have no doubt they I would think I would think well I’d hope Peter Alonzo would go back but again this is a Boris guy again right Boris is not an idiot he’s going back to Steve Cohen if Steve Cohen is interested in a player right it’s this is Boris again guys this is not me just being an ass and being a Mets bi yes Boris on what was it last week I think it was at the owner or a week and a half ago at the owner’s meeting he was there he specifically says of course I’m going to go back to Steve Cohen I wouldn’t be doing my job so he’s going to he said it himself I’m not saying this as like an opinionated you know me just my opinion he said that himself so if that relates to soda that’s obviously gonna relate to Alonzo who played for the Mets so yeah I think the Mets will have the final say now I don’t think they’re gonna go to $200 million but again what team values pet Alonzo more than the Mets at this point that’s the that’s the other issue that pet Alonzo is going to run into Yankees because other teams and players around the League this has been talked about players actually like hinted at it to reporters and other teams around the league don’t think pet Alonzo is as good as Met fans in a Mets organization portrays him right no matter what you believe that’s a fact so where pet Alonzo is gonna get $200 million from or even over 185 I find it hard to believe that’s why I think he’s going to be running back to the Mets to get a solid offer yeah I I I I think buo in the chat here saying maybe the Nationals I mean that could I could see that happening as well to be honest with you that would be very interesting oh hold on guys uh Kyle just said uh you guys are in for a a world of hurt shortly I don’t think the Mets expected the other teams to be so aggressive yeah they did yeah they did of course they did that’s that that’s not a good comment I the Mets knew that this was going to be the case I don’t think the Yankees thought the Red Sox and the Blue Jays were going to be as interested and aggressive as they are right this is not a Mets conversation about the Yankees here again the Yankees need to worry about the Blue Jays and the Red Sox getting SLE more than the Mets I think that’s a fact and again would I be disappointed if the Mets don’t get stto yes but I’m not going to worry about stto being a Yankee because what does that matter to the Mets at this point besides back pages and a few days of nonsense from Yan fans it doesn’t hurt us because he’s not a brave he’s not a Philly he’s not a national he’s not a Marin he’s not a Dodger a padre or anybody in the National League Bob I agree with you I I trust David Sterns even if it’s a plan C BC and D but we can all understand that it did take guys to have outstanding Seasons that a lot of people think they couldn’t have in maniah and aino Tyron Taylor stepping up you know guys like that you know not saying that that can’t be the case but you’re leaving a lot of Hope on the field and I said this if Sterns believes that bu and manah are the two rotation guys he’s gonna get and that’s gonna be our rotation with s and Peterson and Montas I’m sorry unless somebody really steps up as an ace you’re going to be looking for that Topline starter at the trade deadline that’s the issue guys that is the issue that I’m concerned about or if they don’t do big with pitch I think they’re going to do get position players MoneyWise I think Sterns is more comfortable giving position players a lot of money over pitchers because of the injury aspect all right guys I’m just looking at the comments out to everyone in the chat by the way um yes there the of people crazy amount of people we appreciate everyone whether you’re on Rob’s Channel or my channel um someone asked a question about henis Cabrera I do think he makes yeah that was that where is it yep here we go yep I like I like I like hesis Cabrera I do think that there’s a lot of polishing to be done in terms of his not mechanics but just sort of the Arsenal that he possesses you think he can make the opening day roster yeah I think so I think so I think he’ll be I think he’d be one of the lefties in the bullpen I think the Mets are still trying to figure out if they’re going to carry another Lefty I think they should at the end of the day um Brooks rley is on the market right um you’ve got Danny Young but again Danny Young are you really gonna trust in him he was up and down in 2024 from the way I take it so I like I like henis Cabrera and and it helps like he throws gas man he throws like 97 98 from the left side too that’s pretty rare So I like I like that name a lot well well Chris this was a conversation last night that uh Chris Robert if you I know I don’t know if you were in the chat last night there was so many damn people last night as there is today but if you want I mean it’s a three- hour show we’re not GNA make you go crazy trying to find what we were talking about over three hours but we we we’ll talk about it now why not right you’re here so uh would you choose bat in second or third well numbers are very very good in either one of those spots now me and Chris have different opinions on where he should bat but I’m gonna let Chris talk about it because he was the one that brought up the the bat in order of where Soo batted in the numbers so okay Chris take it away yeah to go into just like just a a brief synopsis of what we said yesterday because a large portion of our stream was geared towards this right here right and the new age philosophy of your best hitter batting second right and I just don’t think again the situation that we talked about yesterday was the situation of both stto and Alonzo coming back to the New York MCH in which case if Alonzo and stto are New York Mets I would have to bat stto third or fourth and again if you are in the category of believing in the philosophy which is factually true I won’t take it away from anybody who believes this that your top three hitters get the most at bats or plate appearances over the course of a season then yes 100% you will bat him top three I just do not see a world where you can look at what Pete Alonzo did last season and tell me that you don’t want wano behind Pete Alonzo rather than vice versa right um I get the OBP factor I understand that the numbers are fantastic whether he’s batting second third fourth or fifth we understand that as well but again I do think to maximize pet Alonzo and knowing that you’re not going to sacrifice anything with Juan stto because his approach is going to be the same no matter where he bats I think that batting him third behind pet Lonzo this is a situation where you’d have pet Lonzo either batting third or second and Soto be behind him at that point if you want to bat Wan stto third and have him in the top three pet Lonzo would have to be your two-hole hitter which he also has excelled in by the way so I wouldn’t knock that idea and then obviously Vientos would be your uh your cleanup hitter at that point so I I think no matter what it is no matter how you shake it up I understand that Juan stto has done fantastic and the two spot seems like a really good situation with Lindor and stto back toback I’m not denying that but if you get into situation and maybe this happens Midway through the season or whatever if your three- hole hitter is not getting the job done in terms of driving these guys in that are getting on base for him then it’s a it’s a moot point you’re wasting a huge contract and the guy that’s walking for you and getting on base without having anybody driving in runs right driving him in so at that point that’s why I say Lindor either Alonzo or Vientos and then after that you’ll have Alonzo in whichever order and then stto after that again I have to stick to that and hell pet Alonzo can show me that he’s capable of hitting with Runners and scoring position at a consistent rate hey it’s a great problem to have that means you have juano like nobody’s gonna be mad where he bats right we’re gonna have our difference of opinions but if he bats second third or fourth I don’t think anybody cares right he’s in the lineup right because he he’s get he’s not gonna change his approach he might make one person better two people better we don’t know but he does make your lineup better and I think the numbers showed that it really doesn’t matter where he bats it’s just where do you want him to help other guys in your lineup right do do you want to just put him behind Alonzo right it’s not the worst idea in the world right he has a problem with the Mets I mean it’s not a bad problem but Vientos Alonzo stto all have great numbers in the two- hole so you have to choose somebody right one of those guys are probably GNA be a two-hole hitter you know I truly I think that viento shown that he can probably bat behind Alonzo no problem and I think it would be a lot more dangerous Lindor stto Alonzo Vientos nmo that is a pretty damn good one through five and that’s not including Alvarez who we expect to have a bounceback year and who knows what else the Mets do right and you can go with if it’s aunia or mcneel or Mauricio at second base or you know uh Siri B in ninth or something like that with his speed so there’s so many different ways to go and I don’t think any of them are wrong I think it’s going to be beneficial the way I want to bring up a a comment when mck man said um I would be disappointed if we strike out on Sono and sign low price guys I it would be pretty I would be pretty pissed off well I don’t think they’re gonna sign low price position players because that doesn’t help them that doesn’t make them better low price pitching more realistic situation so we’re talking about two different things here well Chris let me ask you that question let’s answer the comment there right he would be pissed off do you you think that if we strike out on Juan stto high priced position players are off the board because I ridic you we need two bats right everybody think it’s gonna be stto and another bat Alonzo Walker or something like that do you think if we strike out aan stto is it gonna it’s probably gonna be Pete Alonzo but is it gonna be an Anthony santand there right we kind of talked about this briefly but do you believe if it’s an not Anthony sand there where do they go you ask me that question oh we’re taking s santand off the board there let’s say because he’s saying low low price guys oh I don’t think position playerwise I think that’s hard to believe would they go Pete Alonzo and then say let’s roll it with Marte another guy or Ty yeah I mean you’d have to you’d have to if there’s no trades right because we can’t just pull a hypothetical trade you know from our butts right now I mentioned the name Luis Rober Jr but again I think the infield prioritization is a lot more than the outfield for the Mets given the the Personnel right now you’d have to trust in the young guys to be honest with you you’d have to trust in a Mauricio coming back with a vengeance right you’d have to trust in that um you’d have to trust that perhaps maybe a Drew Gilbert is gonna be ready at some point too and again that’s hope that’s hope and what did we say yesterday hope is not a strategy nope not it’s it’s it’s you’re stuck in between a rock and a hard place if you’re taking away the option of santand yeah the pivot point for Juan sto and that’s why making Juan sto the priority and giving him whatever he wants at this point is so important that’s that’s in a nutshell the reason why we are advocating for the Mets to just do whatever it takes to get him in these doors is because your options from there right the PIV Point easy as sand there but from there your options are really limited and and that is just the nature of the business and I think that Boris knows that he knows that very well and so again I wouldn’t be mad if the Mets decide to prioritize a guy like Mauricio or maybe a Gilbert making an immediate impact whereas they would potentially make an impact months down the line it’s unfortunate because I don’t even know if Mauricio is going to be ready in time for spring training to to sort of ramp up right and if he’s not ready for spring training he’s not going to be ready by opening day because we know exactly what JD Martinez did last year right they’re not GNA have him especially coming off of an injury right just just come right to the big leagues and and take at bats right it’s not going to happen so at that point it’d be hope and if hope is what you’re selling me on I’m not buying it so the Mets are gonna have to get creative this is why David Sterns makes the big bcks you’re gonna have to find a trade out there for a bat now our job as people talking about this team right with the microphone in front of our faces is to go ahead do some research on maybe some bats that could be available but for me I think the name is I think there’s going to have to be one high priced free agent alongside um pet Alonzo whether that’s bregman or Santan there after that your options are limited to be honest with you yeah you gotta be very creative if you’re Sterns in that case and and I do believe that I think Juan stto what the Mets are doing here is telling you how much they believe now I think a lot of people believe that the Mets are gonna get bring back pet Alonzo I think the Mets are probably confident in that too for the most part I think the way they’re talking about pet Alonzo they they kind of feel confident that Peter Lonzo is gonna always come back to them for whatever reason and they’re gonna get him they’re telling you that they need another bat around pet Alonzo that sto is obviously the best guy but I that’s why I do think that’s why Anthony Santander is not Sig him because he could pick a team and probably sign with somebody for a lot less money but why do that that’s why Sant andere knows the guy the team that misses out on stto is going to heavily pursue him now I don’t know if the Yankees are going to do that because s is a right fielder and I don’t know if the Yankees want if it’s not juano in right field I don’t know if they want to keep Aaron jords center field right I don’t think they’re willing to leave um judgeing center field for Juan stto but they don’t they’re not gonna do that for Sant andere for all that money I think they want Aaron Judes back in right field if stto is not on their team in my op who be who would be the center fielder Dominguez okay and then left field you know they maybe they’ll go out and get a a Bellinger or or something like that but then again they need first base again you know they don’t have a second basem right now technically they don’t have a third basem depending on where Chism plays so I would love by the way by the way in this scenario that Moth Man is bringing up I would love Cody Bellinger on the Mets I I would do that 100% I would I would take that on I would take it on I’m sorry I would so you say all right so if they trade for Bellinger and get Alonzo you’re okay if they trade for Bellinger and get Alonzo yeah that’s better than that’s better than the alternative what’s the alternative in this scenario well again obviously if it’s not santand there I mean you’re going with morte and who knows what else let me look up this Bellinger contract real quick because I know that there was he opted Bellinger scares the hell out of me though man I I hear you but I don’t trust him at all he’s got he opted in this year he’s got a player option next year for 25 million so he’s only on the books for one more year and then 2027 he’s an unrestricted free agent so it’s not a long-term deal so maybe might get him where he can still be in those Pro it type years for the two years to opt out and he still he’d still be playing for a contract at that point how how old is he 28 29 uh let’s look it up I’m not in tune to Cody Bellinger Cubs baseball to be honest with you um he is where is he let’s just look this up someone maybe beat me in the chat to this 29 he’s 29 so he’s going to be 31 opting for a contract which is again like you know what I mean he’ll be 31 ased free agent so that’s that’s motivation right there for him well yeah motivation and yeah and maybe that’s all I care about is the two years that we have him where because he has two years then an OP out right or one year in an OP out um no it’s just one more year after this because he already opted in to 2025 he had the option this year this offseason okay so all right so yeah I guess but I mean how many people are going to give a 31y old Bellinger like I don’t like your swing at all I I don’t I scares the hell out of me that uppercuts I I just don’t like I you know we talk about it with a lot of the Mets players and I I know every hitter is different but you know it just scares me because look he is very vulnerable letter to neck and if you leave that ball up there he’s not doing anything I you know he’s a lowball complete lowball hitter now before he got hurt with the shoulder he was more of a he still had that uppercut but he was still he had that more of a level swing and he obviously was an MVP I don’t think he’s that I’m not saying he has to be that but man I mean would I be upset if that’s a pivot point if you don’t get Anthony santand there or Juan stto sure that’s you could do worse and you have insurance with Marte leaving next year you do you do and then you know that gives you an option that gives you a stop gap for Gilbert as well uh as the top prospect see if he can pop up you know and and that’s the other thing you know we haven’t really brought up the prospect right what does Sterns believe in these guys right who does he believe in we don’t necessarily know that why I think they’re gonna trade for a topl line starter and then we’re really gonna know right if you trade for GR crochet You’re Gonna Know Who Sterns likes and doesn’t like because they’re going to be in that deal same thing with Luis Castillo or somebody else that we not thinking of so yeah and you know what I mean as Blitz is uh in the chat saying I’d rather have drew Gilbert starting over Bellinger I think there’s a world where you can do both because again right at the end of the day do we think Nemo’s going to be out there in the outfield for the next two three four years that’s another question that we’re going to have to sort of work with in terms of Brandon Nemo potentially phasing out of being an everyday starting outfielder and I’m not saying it’s going to happen in the next year two years but again I don’t know maybe that timeline for Bellinger doesn’t fit but I don’t know it’s it’s tough this is again all these variables you have to think about if you’re David Stern in the New York Mets it’s it’s absolutely insane um I like drew gber a lot again this is why I wouldn’t trade Drew Gilbert when everybody’s so inclined to include him in a gar crochet trade I would not trade Drew Gilbert because Outfield is already lacking as it is it is the Mets have infielders the lore I’d be more willing to give up jet Williams in the trade than I am Drew Gilbert I’ve been very adant about that if you’ve been a part of this channel no disrespect to to Jet Williams it’s just the nature of how this farm system is set up right now so in the worst case scenario if you do have to rely on these young guys to make an immediate contribution you’re gonna have a situational fit there in the Outfield and I know that they’re trying this jet Williams to the Outfield thing I have no doubt that he can make a transition to the Outfield he’s not a better defender in the Outfield than than Drew Gilbert it’s just it’s just not it’s not true but you know what that that is again hoping and again you again this is the Met again the Mets organization said this not us they said they’re going for it for 2025 you can’t pivot to prospects and tell me you’re going for it right Drew Gilbert is not you know top five MLB Prospect right guys that come up and just be outstanding Pro you know players no they’re not top of the line no they’re not Juan SOS of the world they’re not Aon judges of the world at least we don’t think we don’t know but pretty good chance that they’re probably not right so you can’t again Sterns Steve Cohen other players they know they were talk they talked about going for it in 2025 specifically the owner and David Sterns this was the year right A lot of people we knew all last year was gonna be a transition year it just happened to be a lot of surprises and a lot of help from players that had good years that got us to where we were 2025 was the goal for a year you can’t tell me the goal for a year was 2025 and do absolutely the exact opposite because going for it means Soto Alonzo Burns by any means necessary right going for it is not Drew Gilbert Marte and right field let’s trade for Bellinger and get ber and Mania that’s not going for it that’s a lot of [ __ ] hope and I’m sick and tired of that I’m I want to go into a season knowing that I’m confident in a roster I don’t want marks why is there marks going into an offse or going into a season when the Mets have 150 plus million dollars available before they hit that luxury T the third luxury taxs and you’re gonna leave a lot of that for a lot of room for eror there how does that make sense why do we have to have question marks going into the season that does not make sense to me especially when the needs of theam are available via trade and Via mostly via fee agent but also via trade this is what annoys me and this is this is probably go for a lot of teams and Yankee fans have been complaining about this too right they they got woto but what else did they do they had to go out at the trade deadline get Chisum they had they had to do that which is a solid trade but they clearly could have got somebody better but they didn’t like that’s the thing like I don’t want to leave it up to the trade deadline because now there’s a lot more competition now you have to give up assets that you might not had to in the off seon by just spending the money that is available this is what conf this is what confuses me with the conversation or the the the the overall plan of the New York Mets right now the plan for the rotation doesn’t excite me so that’s already the going for it is telling me it’s going out the window again they Burns didn’t sign elsewhere free didn’t sign elsewhere casillo didn’t trade anywhere get trade or or crochet right one of those guys can still be a met but if all falls by the wayside and the Mets get manah and buer is that solid sure but again but not enough correct at least I don’t think so even if you get Juan stto and bring back Pete Alonzo I don’t feel comfortable enough now the offense might be better sure but again are we talking about the regular season here right aren’t we supposed to be better than that we’re supposed to be and and this is what I talked about the Mets have settled after they had really good seasons and they made runs they settled the prior off season the next off season right I talked about this yesterday and on my Mets talk live the Mets for a very long time after they had successful Seasons runs in the playoffs we can talk about 20 000 we can talk about 20 2006 you talk about 2015 talk about 2022 even talk about last year when did they go for it at the trade deadline and when did they do enough that off season where you can go into the season not questioning anything right once they made that runs in the playoffs those years the following year 2001 right Mike Hampton I talked about this already Mike Hampton went to the Rockies the Mets replaced my Canon with Kevin apier right 0607 right 06 they brought back basically the same team hey let’s get Tom glavin wonderful that made us better right and then we had collapses the next two years after’ 06 right go back to 2015 right we were living on the generation K 2.0 rotation yet all they did was bring back Yan CPUs and the rest of the team that was already a bad lineup in 2015 let’s not make no mistake no make no mistake about it Wright was breaking down Lucas Duda was your first baseman Ruben tahada legaris it Michael kaday those were your guys in your lineup terrible wasn’t good and they did they brought back you aesus and that was it in 2016 ended in one game wild card and then it was downhill from there the rotation fell apart 2022 we can all have a conversation the Mets were one of the top three teams in baseball that year they had an opportunity what they needed was a a big bat they got vcal back rough and naquin when other guys that were better than those guys were out there not saying that they would have made the difference but they didn’t do it last year Steve Sterns was talking about evaluation year with a lot of their prospects he wasn’t trading top prospects to bring in a big picture or a big most likely we needed a big pitcher last year obviously he wasn’t willing to give up any Prospect assets because they were he was EV valuate it was an evaluation year he went with what he could get for minimal cost and hope for the best and that’s what happened so again they did not go for it 2025 off season you have needs everything is available for freaking money go get it make no question about 2025 opening a I want a roster that is basically set in stone I don’t want no question marks now there might be one in the bullpen but bullpens are are widely available and easier to get at the deadline than there is a big bat and a big pitcher back you’re up the 2026 free agent class Rob the 2026 free agent class like outside of Vladimir Guerrero I mean you have Bo bashet and it’s not that deep to be honest with you so if you want like a a big name bat again Vlad Guerrero Jr aside like this is the year to go ahead and do that obviously with stto but also swn there so I just like to throw that in if the Mets sign pet Alonzo the Vlad Guerrero will Street St for the Mets has is non-existent what was that one more time sorry I’m reading the chat if the Mets do sign Peter Alonzo the the free agency for the Mets is pointless next right because they’re not in on V on Vlad yeah that’s that’s the thing that I don’t understand right they they’re leaving too many question marks and again even if you get berer for two years with an OP out and manah for three years right you just gave an OP out to Montas right Klay Holmes is here for three years I all we all believe that he’s probably gonna be in the bullpen unless he shocks a lot of people and be as great as a starter right so you’re leaving yourself open again for open Rotation with guys you rotation you have to fill again in the 2026 offseason how how does that make any sense why a Topline starter is necessary because why because now you have berer or freed or Castillo or crochet for the long ha because if you trade for crochet you’re gonna extend him and if you get Burns or freed it’s gonna be north of five years or more so they’re gonna be your eight now you got kodai senger still who’s gonna be going into an OP out year after this year right and then you have bu and manah it feels a lot better because now you only got to worry about four starters the fourth starter the Third maybe the third starter maybe the fifth starter not your top two starters I I just don’t understand the logic here right unless again they might believe that one of or two of their guys in their farm system is going to be that guy but I’m sorry how do you know that that is way too risky if he is great you have a even better rotation but why are we risking it here and I I think that they’re they’re they’re leaning towards a a little bit more hope in the rotation I still think they’re going to do what they need to do lineup wise but they’re leaning with too much hope in the rotation Bullpen is fiscal so I’m not going to go crazy of who they sign when it comes to that who they trade for for Bullpen I think it’s very fickle I think you know re Garrett wasn’t on anybody’s radar and he was one of our best relievers so and you got Nunes you still have BH so I think the bulpen could be perfectly fine the rotation is leaving too much hope and and again you just you just you you made my point by just bringing up the free agency class next year there isn’t any Topline starters that are really ready to get or go for right it’s more about now and you know is manah gonna get better with age is he gonna all of a sudden just be a great Ace when he also did break down in the playoffs kodai SGA who was injured all of last year are you expecting him to be healthy again that’s question marks for these guys even know I really like kodai senga and I love manah let’s not let let’s put out the facts here manah hasn’t been good since Oakland prior to last year and if you want to consider him the ace okay but I think that’s more of Mets recency bias from Met fans than factual you know observation of his entire career now can that new mechanics make him an ace yeah but also every team has the book on him now every team has a lot of video of him now they have time to figure him out that now that may not mean they can hit him but can anybody guarantee me as a Met fan and say manah will be the ace if we sign him if you’re guaranteeing that then I I think you you’re being more hopeful than uh giving me any any facts except for one year what do you what do you think about this and I agree on the manah part I still think the Met should try to resign him his Market’s going to be vast and it’s probably going to be a point where maybe David Sterns thinks it’s not worth it for the points that you just brought up but again I think that I I think that with those mechanics he can have sustained success but people in the chat are mentioning a name that I liked a lot and before he signed in Arizona I actually kind of wanted this name jock Peterson he had a pretty damn good year to be honest with you uh 23 home runs 275 and I get it it’d be disappointing we’re talking about plan d i i understand it Rob I I understand that expression on your face but again I mean we have to cover all of our our bases here we have to um what’s the saying cross our teas and Dot our eyes or something like that if I butchered that I’m sorry anyways you know yes by the way Carlos this is coconut water I love coconut water um I had to bring that out um but yes this is something where I I get that we’re annoyed to talk about it but again like after the two guys essentially right maybe three again tar Hernandez is probably not going to be a met if I had to guarantee it um it’s it’s slim the Market’s slim I know jock Peterson on a short-term deal would be disappointing I get that 100 per. but honestly he could fix your DH spot if stto lands with another team he could great so we’re gonna put Jo Peterson behind pet Alonzo I can’t wait well exactly oh and also the Super Chat here that we got above too which is what I want to address um was it mcloven podcast something like that uh let’s see here start yes uh shout out to the mcloven podcast Lindor s of viento 750 to protect beat is crazy so my thing about this is I hear you mcloven I understand that but I’m not advocating as the sole reason for signing Wan sto to make pet Alonzo better but if you can kill two birds with one stone why wouldn’t you do it we just told you that Wan sto is able to bat in any part of the lineup so why would you not use him as a protection Factor right and again that goes back to the point of yes I understand that he likes hitting in front of Aaron judge right presumably that gets him more pitches to hit which honestly with the makeup that of that lineup is also just not factual because the guys behind those those two guys don’t really do them enough Justice in terms of giving either of those guys pitches to hit um and again the Mets proved that but I would not hesitate at all to put Juan SoDo as a protection factor for pet Alonzo Christian Walker whoever you bring in for first base mark Fen doesn’t matter I wouldn’t hesitate and it’s not about being protection for Pete that’s just the addition added bonus that you would get with it that’s an added bonus Soo can bat anywhere he can and he can drive runners in at a high clip in any spot why wouldn’t you want that as a sh thing in your three or four hole that’s that’s my entire point but I do understand where you’re coming from with that as well don’t think that I don’t again this is why we’re having this debate in the first place yeah and then Joe says I say Cohen goes to 775 780 it might get to that it might get to that especially if it goes up until tomorrow and and we’re we’re about 25 minutes away 27 minutes away until 1 pm and I mean it seems very quiet which is kind of eerie right at least there was like weird news coming out yesterday but right now last night but right now it just seems eerily quiet uh for good or bad reasons I guess we can all argue that situation but um yeah I mean would you would anybody be shocked if it takes 775 to 780 right I don’t look if it if it all comes down to and we hear that the Mets had to go $50 million more for wo to the sign do I really care did I care that the Mets had to go above and beyond to get K’s Beltran and he still went back to the Yankees to get the match and offer no call budet became a met I don’t care how wanta becomes a man he can go back to the Yankees and you know you know cut how’s hair and say hey man I do everything for you to get that match a number and Hal says no I don’t care if he becomes a met because of that I don’t care doesn’t bother me one bit get him here right you I would be a lot more confident in the rest of the off season if Juan sto is a New York Met not because we got Juan sto because I think you don’t go Juan sto and stop there the scary part that I’m concerned with is if we don’t get Wan Soo will they pivot to what mman talked about will they go and you know work with um Marte and bring in and go with Marte Tyron Taylor or maybe do trade for a Bellinger and they’ll sign Pete Alonzo which you know doesn’t wouldn’t excite me might excite some meth fans because meth fans are so in love with pet Alonzo and diing that he’s going to be the end off which he won’t be because it’s been proven many many years so that’s the issue that that’s what concerns me I think if the Mets get Juan sto they’re gonna be off and running same thing about last year where Yamamoto I truly believe even though it was a evaluation year I think if the Mets did get Yamamoto they would have went a little bit more in regards to getting a bigger bat than JD Martinez I think they would have done something else bigger but because they negate Yamamoto they’re like all right we don’t really like the rest of these guys so we’re not going to overpay for people we don’t like this is this is the problem I think they gonna have I don’t know how much they like Anthony santand there for 250 plus million dollars you know what I’m saying that that’s the other thing that I worry about you know do they believe he’s that good you know we can debate that but I think the Mets really like certain players and then there’s a whole new tier of other guys that are in the same Bowl so to speak in my opinion Chris I don’t know if you agree with that or or what yeah no I I do agree with that and in pertaining to Joe’s comment here um I say Cohen goes to 775 I don’t see what would stop him from going to 775 to be honest with you right I don’t um I think all your chips have to be on the table here and I think that again if we’re talking pivot Points that we don’t like in jock Peterson Cody bones right I mean if we don’t like these guys then maybe the front office doesn’t like these guys too so they don’t want to Pivot to those guys I I think it’s like juano sand there and then it’s just kind of like me you know what I mean it’s kind of like you know is it worth it to tie up you know four or five years for anybody else not really I mean Christian Christian Walker aside because again I would take him as the first baseman but I think Moth Man and I forgot to say this about moth man’s comment up above was that we already addressed it but just to add on to it is that you know being disappointed in shorter term deals and and cheaper deals I think it was moth man that said this but you know I think of that like the epitome of that is if the Mets let pet Alonzo go they don’t get a Christian Walker and they sign Carlos Santana a guy that’s serviceable 100% but he’s 38 almost 39 gonna be in line for a one-year deal if we don’t like jock Peterson on a one-year deal for the New York Mets which I’m not saying he’s only going to get one year I’m seeing Maybe like two or three years given his age he’s 32 I mean then I don’t know if I’d like the Carlos Santana signing to be honest with you so those are the types of moves I think Mets manans are scared of in terms of the pivot Points you know what I mean ex well yeah I would be scared too because again we we were sold a bit a bill of goods yeah let be honest that by the way before sorry to cut you off I do see a couple Jay’s fans in the chat too appreciate all the Jay’s fans uh seem like lovely people Mr Bill greetings from the great white North I know the Jays were in talks but just as Otani last year I do not have big hopes I am cheering for you Mets thank you Mr Bill we definitely appreciate you and Sam curious what Met fans are feeling right now as Jays fan we are constantly hearing the odds on favorite to Lan stto are the Mets do you guys have the same feeling oh that’s a loaded question Sam is other places like Boston and Toronto are they hearing more than we are in New York you know in New York media like I I don’t because like I I I hear people talk like there was Red Sox F on Wei which is the Boston radio sports station saying that he’s going to the Red Sox now that could be Boston just hyping themselves up and just want to piss off Yankee fans but it seeming like more and more like it seemed like the Toronto Blue Jay fans that come in here feel like it’s going to be the Mets over the Yankees like do they know something we don’t like are they hearing something different from Toronto reporters that might be a little bit more in the know somehow someway I don’t think so I think we’re all hearing the same thing it just spawned a little bit differently because again when it boils down to your respective you know teams reporters like that are not the national guys then the story is going to get twisted with the different words that these guys use so um I don’t think they’re hearing anything different correct me if I’m wrong maybe a little bit of a hope Factor too to get W out of their division perhaps so um but yeah 100% I I I don’t know again I think it was always between the Red Sox Mets and Yankees the Blue Jays again like I really wish them the best and I know that they’re trying so very hard and I respect that they have this money that they want to give to somebody that’s willing to take on that destination um you know Kevin Gosman we talked about it yesterday right on our stream yesterday gsman wanted to do that Springer wanted to do that but outside of those two guys really like there’s not many people that are jumping in excitement to go over there for one reason or another I’m sure these players have their reason but again I respect that organization in terms of making this a competitive or a competition at the very minimum and for all we know right the Jays could be sneakily involved in terms of driving the price up like people are still saying they could be the ones driving the price up because there have been solidified reports out there saying even before the past couple of days saying that the Jays are the team the Dark Horse that’s for a reason that’s strictly money Capital that’s the only reason so the thing right would stto go to the Blue Jays with an astronomical number and maybe Steve Cohen is chasing that number you know that we don’t know like could they be at 775 800 million and Steve Soto still might just go there because that’s a crazy number and Steve coen’s like damn I gotta get closer to this like I know we might we still believe that coen’s still the biggest offer but what if the Blue Jays are offering a crazy number and it’s only out there from the teams and like like I don’t know why the Blue Jays would try to hide that I mean wouldn’t you want to gloat over that but I don’t know I mean maybe it’s crazy thinking but I don’t know maybe they are the darkg course and you know what listen again it ain’t gonna look I would love the sto as the Mets but again it’s not it’s not gonna overall hurt my feelings that he’s going to the American League I don’t need to see him every every out of 13 games or in the NL but you know again I I still believe this I think the Red Sox and the Blue Jays are putting the fear of God in h steinber because you cannot let your team your your your rivals in your division have better offers than the New York Yankees that’s embarrassing in itself not only do the Mets have the biggest offer but then you let your two Rivals division Rivals get one up on you I think that would be embarrassing like it just really is see what Rosie said in the chat Gomez said that Boris told the Yankees is a Yankee if they go up to 750 I don’t know yeah I saw that too but then I heard there’s another one Chris Monty I he has a lot of follower again who cares about that but I mean he says I’m not sure he’s valid but Source Mets camp extremely comfortable Lindor and Soto spoke very late last night or early this morning Belin has dialogue directly with soo’s manager while Cohen has handed negotiations Stern’s overseeing all as you could imagine like it’s just like I I mean yeah I don’t know if this guy’s valid this guy’s also dissing the New York Knicks here so he’s lost my respect anyways dude we’ve talked about dude listen I mean this team is playing soon too up here and I’m dreading watching football so this is a lot more fun even though it’s exhausting than watching the New York Giants play football like like honestly we’re all gonna be so excited he makes the decision but it’s gonna take a deep breath man like it’s it’s like like the with the Medan didn’t even kick off and it’s exhausting it really is like we didn’t get barely any sleep we were up to the crack of dawn basically making sure nothing was going to happen I Su I do believe once it hit midnight West Coast and I think my cat’s gonna jump on my dresser and that’s gonna be a problem I think you can see his face over there trying to trying to hide trying to make sure look at me so he can jump on the freaking thing and Destroy Everything sorry because if he jump all right he just ran out he he would destroy everything it would be a it would be a l noise I promise you that because he did that last night all right I’m sorry but you know he wants to be a part of the stream what can I say um Nick Lovin podcast also with the Super Chat yeah have it be a part of the stream we we need this we need this entertainment Factor here going on three hours um pass on Pete and get vlat build a future Powerhouse with two 26 year old players who would love to play together for the next 12 years very ideal didn’t we didn’t we discuss this yesterday right if this is a could be a part of the negot negotiations between the Mets right given that their first baseman is a free agent right like there was also discussions about whether Juan SoDo would want to have pet Alonzo as his as his I guess his protection or vice versa whatever again I don’t buy into it I I also struck that down yesterday but on the flip side of the coin if I’m playing Devil’s Advocate and saying yeah maybe if that is the case then you know what if you just make it up you can’t promise these sorts of things obviously the free Market is unpredictable can you imagine if we’re talking about supply and demand this year right with a couple of options on the board can you imagine the bidding prices that are going to happen for Vladimir Guerrero being one of the better bat the best bat hands down on the market in 2026 so again um this is again hope this is what I go back to mcloven is that this would be a hope right uh of you being able to out bid the Yankees for stto and then out bid whoever else the Jays right because they’re going to make if they miss out on Juan SoDo the Blue Jays are going to offer vlat Jr an astronomical deal 100% I’m not too confident that I don’t think I can be sold on that in theory right what this comment says sounds awesome and I’d be all for it but again there he is but again I don’t think that uh it’s plausible or feasible so he wanted to give you a little fist bump but yeah so that that’s how I address that question right there pass on P and get vlat again you’re taking an astronomical risk and I don’t think that the Mets if it’s one thing about David Sterns he takes calculated risks right I don’t think that’s a risk that he would be willing to take on so um just my I tell you my cat’s really on a rambunctious mode right now calm down it’s okay Soto’s gonna sign soon sorry he’s excited like he likes that High dresser and he try oh Bo see I don’t know if you guys can hear it but he’s going nuts destroying every sorry Chris take over let me just uh get him out of here no you’re good uh Paul from Toronto saying Jay’s offered sto 750 over 15 years Paul would love to know where you saw that again we’re all I think we’re all we might be seeing different stuff um but again you know it’s coming from a variety of different places and it’s it’s it could be factual that the Jays are the one that are the team that’s driving up the price here and maybe it’s making it a pain for the Mets and the Yankees so the Yankees presumably don’t really have to only worry about the Mets they got to worry about the Blue Jays in terms of that astronomical price point so again even though the destination isn’t as likely the Jays just doing this in general um you know is is to one price out the Yankees or at least again as we said earlier in the Stream [ __ ] their pockets so that they can’t make their team better in terms of the Al’s competition so again if what again I haven’t been seeing these reports so I’m just going off with the comments um are saying I haven’t seen anything about the Jay’s offer um we’ve been seeing that the two New York teams are the favorites for stto at this point but if that is true 750 for 15 with however many signing bonus you want it doesn’t matter um and again it could be fake news as well you know as Moth Man is saying I have no idea at this point I don’t doubt in my mind though that the Blue Jays are up there just sneakily just trying to go back to Boris and uh trying to get a gauge of what it would take again I respect the organization I understand that they want their big caliber free agent signing just as much as the two New York teams do so I have to stick with this in that the Jays just aren’t a serious Contender here when it comes to the rest of these teams in the W sort of sweep Stakes but they’re sure making it hard for other teams perhaps Rob I mean they sure are yeah uh sorry about that uh I had to get him out of the room because he’s gonna destroy everything and that’s the problem oh yeah it’s it’s Jay gamer saying do you think the Jays are being quiet and getting it done I think they’re being quiet about it but they’re not going to get it done I don’t think so I don’t I don’t know anymore you know I I I think they’re a dark horse for sure I really think they are I think they could be but I I think they’re gonna you know how everybody’s talking about the Mets have to be $50 million higher than the Yankees which is clearly probably not the case but I they do think the Blue Jays need to be about 50 plus million dollars more than everybody else to be really considered because W would be out will be completely nuts to to pass out 50 plus million dollars to go to the met the Yankees I I I think it would be crazy you know you know maybe it can be with a bonus or you know what whatever it might be but I think they have to have an A astronomical number higher than the Mets or the Yankees now I do think the Blue Jays have no problem going past the Yankees but would they go past the Mets and if they do how much that’s the only thing I could say that they could be the again I will be I would not be happy that s’s not a met but I would I would kind of laugh in Yi Fan face if blue he’s got him like that would be insane that would literally be insane uh Chris you’re on mute sorry I was on mute I’m losing my damn mind over here uh key is saying in the chat Jay’s fans we aren’t getting him Toronto media does this in every sport so that’s their aspect of things as well well so um yeah lots of speculation again we appreciate you um being here with myself and Rob um check out our channels we got a lot more content on the way it’s going to be interesting because we are going to go live later tonight and we’re going to be on Soo watch but we’ll also have presumably some stuff to talk about if more reports come out again we are one day away from the MLB winter meetings officially starting so things should get a lot more exciting no matter what because I do think again the pitching is independent of Juan stto so we’ve already seen that with the Mets and montos and and Klay Holmes we’ve seen that with the Dodgers and Blake Snell so I really do think that pitchers at the very minimum regardless of this wotto signing happening today or tomorrow um we will at least see some deals happening as soon as either tonight or tomorrow you know Bullpen guys we haven’t even mentioned bull right we haven’t even mentioned that outside of clay Holmes potentially being able to do both we’ve got a lot to talk about in terms of the bullpen um we got you guys so it’s 1251 right now um yeah I think we’re gonna just end it here so we can get uh everybody you know if you want to just go into that football stage in a few minutes uh we we’ll make you do that I know you know we’re wall to wall soda right now but um uh what time you think is a good time for hot sto like around right after the the the four o’clock games sometime around there yeah we could start up around like 435 whenever around that range yeah I’m good for that all right all right so we we can do a we’ll do 5:30 that does that sound good works perfect do a 5:30 hot stove uh anywhere in between from now and then if Soo signs oh the hot stove is only gonna be an hour right we do it like an hour hour and a half show it ain’t gonna be much more than that so uh let’s Soo signs tonight then we’ll be back on for the live yeah exactly so there’s gonna be um a hot stove at 5:30 anywhere in between before the hot stove and after the hot stove we’re going to be on high alert obviously and if obviously Monday might be another day three of onea watch party which you would think the first real day of the winter meeting do you think he would sign I mean it would be outrageous if it’s longer than that like I don’t I don’t know yeah yeah I agree and we’ll be streaming um winter meetings too because again I really do think that at least pitching aspects will we will do like a watch party like this if I’m not mistaken but again like we will come come at you with the latest news and again if woto signs Mets we’re obviously going to go live as soon as it happens and if woto doesn’t sign with the Mets guess what we’re still going live so again notifications button subscribe to Rob’s Channel And subscribe to my channel um again we do a lot of these shows conjoined and together because we want to give you all different perspectives we agree on a lot of things but we also disagree um on certain things as is the case with the these past couple of streams in terms of the sto situation and where he fits into the lineup potentially but yeah hope hopefully you’re enjoying the content smash those thumbs up buttons please and uh check out all the other content I got a Roki Sasaki video out I posted it this morning that’s in the description of my uh video right now streaming right now but it’s on the channel subscribe all that fun stuff appreciate you and uh again barring anything else um enjoy football try to take your mind off stto but I know that everyone’s gonna be refreshing their feeds but above anything else we appreciate everybody in the chat like we appreciate your support um we appreciate the perspective Ives we try to read as many chats as possible um we appreciate the super chats whether you’re a Jay’s fan whether you’re a respectful Yankees fan or Red Sox fan right Dodgers fans right uh we appreciate the differences and opinions and perspectives so that’s all I wanted to say let’s go Mets above go guys enjoy football uh we’ll be on high alert turn on the notifications because if ju those signs we are going live Mets or not we are going live have a good rest of your day enjoy the football game guys day two of Juan sto watch party is now in the books but it’s not over yet where does he sign we shall see hopefully today or tomorrow but hopefully today uh on a Sunday have a good day guys enjoy football and let’s go Mets see you see you later guys go Mets City Lights in the night Echo Concrete Jungle dreams Bust The Grow LS in the air Chase Glory no fear broken B the heart steer clear OMG the chaos what
