been a few weeks since you had taz’s back there out with you what was it like to kind of have him back in the pole tonight good I think more than playing I think uh it just helps with overall morale um you know his Lively energy but then of course you get the ball in his hands you know so there’s there’s a lot that comes with that but um we love TZ we need him he’s big part of what we do for someone spending their their lone year in the program how much did you feel the intensity of of the Rivalry and sort of the this being a get back game for the program when they hadn’t won against Washington these last couple years yeah um was talked about but um you know just being right where our feet are and knowing that you know history don’t help us one bit you know you got to go prove it and you know I felt like we did um but uh definitely aware of it no no of it watched you know both those games actually so uh um you know it’s good stuff you’re good no you’re good coach just called this the team’s most complete game of the season I guess do you agree with that and what was working for the offense there through three quarters there for sure um always things you can clean up but uh proud of our guys and the way we you know set the tone set the pace you know I know James was happy about that third quarter you know and and things that we’ve talked about um but also just right running the football man you know you you look at everyone contributing in that way and then um taking what they they give us in the past game and being aggressive when need to and being smart when um you know that present itself so I think more importantly it’s clean you know playing clean and efficient and then executing at a high level coach called uh you guys the most connected team he thinks he’s ever coached do you see that um and what are some ways that connection comes through in the locker room on the practice field and on the game day field yeah a lot of ways um I think the competitive nature of our whole team you know you see it in practice you know I encourage everyone to come James comes to practice all the time but I encourage you to come to practice and just see the the way we practice but um we take pride in it you know that’s older guys as well that like myself played six years but um the way we attack it and uh contribute you know in in our own way I think that speaks to how we are connected as a team you know a lot of guys who’ve played a bunch of football you know know what it takes to win and have been on the good and bad sides of you know a game in general so I think that and then you come to you know our Thursday player Le meetings um I I think you just see a lot of mature individuals in the way they speak um what they demand of the team and how they set the tone you know I go back to when no Whittington you you know spoke in front of us you know this week on a on a Wednesday um you just see the passion the love you know a guy who’s grinded and there’s so many other you know guys on our team that do that but I think it just that moment I think speaks to a lot of of where we are as a team DL can you a appreciate just the difficulty of 12-0 and then can you maybe explain how this team was able to navigate the waters where this week again we saw how difficult it is to to win in November yeah winning is difficult um it’s not easy and to do it consistently and and wake up every morning and not let it become a a laxidasical routine um it it’s it’s demanding but uh you just see a group of guys that like I said to speak to the connection um you know when when one person made be down the way we bring others up you know and and have to match that energy you know and and you know on our good days how do we make it great and and that’s the people around you how they motivate you how they push you how they inspire you to wake up every morning and and have your aame you know and then you have a head man who brings his aame every freaking morning like uh there’s levels to it you know and um we all appreciate it but um I think the best part is we haven’t really talked about it we’re just one week focus and so present it’s hard to do um it’s it’s very easy for us to look forward um to the future but you know we’ve just been living in a time where tomorrow’s tomorrow’s fiction you know tomorrow’s not not real in our books you know we’re just focused right where we’re at right stens has 10 sacks tonight tying your program record just what was it like for you watching them do what they did out there tonight and how helpful was that for you yeah a lot of fun bunch of big smiles on my face you know as we’re on the sideline but um utmost confidence in in those guys and and the way they play you know I can even go back to a fall Camp scrimmage you know and I remember we were putting the the squad together and you just see like the way we com compete you know and you know we go against those guys every single day so uh we know what they’re capable of um but I think that’s you know our competitive Advantage you know the way we practice and the way we push each other so um super proud of the defense always proud of them the way they you know attack and um you know they they to play today speaking on that I know he plays on the other side of the ball but Bryce petcher had a huge Game Force fumble really kind of flipped the game in that second quarter what what does he meant to this program I know you’ve only been here a year but what do he kind of meant to this team at linebacker yeah I meant more than just to the program but the City of Eugene you know uh homegrown guy who loves life you know and loves playing ball both baseball and football um but uh he’s probably the hardest working dude I’ve been around too you know when I wake up in the morning I’m stretching and you know in the locker room and like he’s the guy I’m looking at you know and like who and BOS as well but like who who wouldn’t you you know want like who wouldn’t want a guy like him and in your locker room I can’t say any anything but good good stuff about him cuz he’s just a dog you know and and he works um but he’s even smarter than that and you you put all that together it’s a a good recipe for a great player and a great person this being your senior night and what makes Eugene and this orgon Ducks team different from the teams that you’ve been on in the past special year you know but special people more importantly I I think uh as I’ve gotten older um I’m I’m chasing people and I’m chasing memories you know I’m I’m not promised tomorrow I don’t know when my time is up you know but um that’s what I’m chasing and I think the more memories and the more great people you can be around uh the more fulfilling your life is so um I would just say getting here uh the great people that invest in you that are extremely positive um and want to see the best out of you I think it’s a it’s a powerful feeling you know and I’m grateful to be a part of it um grateful to contribute to it um but I think you just see everyone involved um you know that makes this thing go you know whether it’s equipment staff the training staff you know our people down in our cafeteria the people who take care of this building you know that’s that’s all the people and all the support even duck Nation you know it’s it’s people that um you know really make this thing go so we’re appreciative of them and just want to represent them in the right way left James when you decide to come here 50 weeks ago and the mission is to do exactly what you’re doing what is it like to be reaching this potential and if you’re chasing memories what are those memories that stick out to you so far yeah the memories are you know I don’t know the exact dates but you know further down the road and um yeah I think coming here I think you you know and you you believe and have this you know thought of what could be but you a lot of people think about what could be you know and got to go make it happen and I think that’s probably been the most fulfilling part is just the way we respond and the guys and how they work and then you know of course they’re not the sugar qu the joys is in the winning you know winning is fun you know it’s it’s addicting you know it’s my drug of choice I say you know it’s it’s a it’s an addicting feeling and and um yeah I think just just being around this program like I said you know you you believe it but then when you actually do it it’s it’s something special so um I think the the rest will will unfold as we just keep playing our butt off two more mentioned in the player Le meeting Noah speaking to you guys what did he say that you know really struck you and that impact on you like you’re saying just a guy who’s been through a lot you know and I think more than what we said what he said I think just his presence you know and and the way he was able to get everyone’s attention you know and his ability to just not let that day be wasted you know and he set the tone that way and I I feel like it it just set our day up for Success you know and so little right like oh just one speech for one day but that’s all you got you know today you know he made it he made his impact on that day and that was the most important day so uh you know a guy like him who’s been through a lot like I said and has pushed through and a guy who wasn’t on the field during those times that you know those games were played um you know I think he just had a a great way of of you know presenting how he wanted to be out there for the boys you know and he’s a guy who’s all about team so I appreciate him mature individual but just a great guy so last question Zach Dan has talked all year about peeking at the right time I’ll start by saying do you think you are peeking at the right time and if so what goes into peing at this time not too early not too late and kind of finding that sweet spot I guess we’ll never know until you know that you know down the road comes but I will say I think uh the mindsets right you know and the the preparation and how we we do things is is right as well but um you know I think it’s proving it every single week that’ll that’ll let me know and let us know if we’re we’re peing at the right time but um you know we’re that’s what I love about this team just the way we practice the way we are addicted to the process and and the pra you know the way we practice it’s um not to not give you an answer but it’s that’s where it comes from you know it’s it’s not no secret you know so um like I said I love these boys proud of them senior night has been more than special and um you know I love Eugene I love Oregan so I’m appreciative of it all thank you guys appreciate it
