uh obviously we saw it in Cleveland as well but no Yannis Dame just kind of steps up and does the Dame number one option thing just what do you see from it game was awesome uh got us going in the first half uh we shot as a team I think we were at 60% from the three-point line you know we we when Giannis went out it was such a late scratch you know kind of had a scrambling we usually go with bigs and we decided to play small ball the entire game uh because I really felt like would so much scoring the only way we’re going to win the game is we had to win the three-point game uh that was our thought going into the game and that’s that’s what we ended up doing uh I I think AJ hadn’t taken a shot since the first two minutes of the third quarter those two big threes obviously we all know how Bo is as a shooter but just for him to step up in those moments yeah he’s not scared I mean we got a bunch of guys uh Gary Trent TP uh Brook Bobby I mean these guys want to take the shot uh we drew up that last play you know I’m kicking myself cuz I said at 6 cuz I wanted to lower the clock and you know usually I go at 8 8 would have been perfect but we told AJ you’re going to be the last option that Ball’s going to find you in the corner and you’ll be wide open uh that happened unfortunately we needed that one second but the fact that he was ready for it he took the other one coming out of the timeout in the corner cuz they started helping off Corners um you know we didn’t handle the traps very well uh we we worked toward yesterday and today so that was the only disappointing part of the game uh but that is so easily fixable for us um and just a lot of guys stepped up Pat hon was phenomenal uh he hadn’t been playing um Maran came in in the first half uh made a three gave us a lift a lot of different guys helped this team win T that doc obviously when we saw your pregame the Giannis downgrade that just happened were even confused on it what what was any any Clarity you I actually still don’t I honestly never asked I still don’t know I don’t even know why I just I just listened to one word and they or two words they said he’s out and from that I was just I went right to the coach’s room and we just tried the game plan on what we wanted to do um I still don’t know why uh but Yannis doesn’t miss many games so whatever it is um I’m sure it was it was the right thing to do um wa mentioned Maran Pat there I realized they came all the way back from 22 to tie it but that end of first quarter or or second quarter to keep to keep the 11-point lead yeah how how important was that especially for a lineup that had literally never played yeah neither one I mean listen the minutes with Dame may have been a plus um and that was huge um what we talked about in our in our coaches meeting we’re like we may be able to win the minutes with d on the floor at least keep them close but if we can win the minutes without D on the floor then we will win the game um now obviously the game changed with the turnovers and all that stuff but overall we did exactly what we wanted to do tonight just the way you guys have been able to win and obviously guys have been playing MVP level stuff but like win by committee yeah it builds your team it it really does and you know I keep going back to the start of the season when we were struggling and we’re trying to find the right rotation and the right guys some guys lost their minutes some guys earned their minutes uh but everybody kind of kept working uh that showed today Pat conon can’t have the game that he had today if he hadn’t been working right Oran who hasn’t played at all couldn’t do it if he hasn’t been working so uh it paid dividends tonight for sure uh doc the uh the play that ended up with a hero three late in the game um they looks like they ran something similar against Dallas a couple nights ago yeah they got Jimmy from kind of three yeah we wouldn’t giving up a layup I could put put it that way um we still got mixed up on the play uh two guys went with Jimmy uh because we made a point about Jimmy and that’s when we got hero free so good play so you you had I mean you’ve seen that on tape I’m guessing right because it looked like Eric ran a very similar yeah it wasn’t the same play cuz Jimmy back cut uh today Jimmy came over the top against Dallas uh so it was I think criss cross was a little different uh but it was the exact same alignment um last play it was right in front of you for Terry for the game time AJ and Andre also both look like they yeah I didn’t see it so I just know that uh there’s no way roier was supposed to be that open I do know that you know it was funny though he caught it with his back to the basket um that’s why he had the to turn and dribble I don’t think he got it off anyway I’m not sure uh but I don’t think it but right when he dribbled us he can’t get it off so um five in a row I realize there six in a row thank N9 and nine I mean it’s a lot like 2 and eight it it it takes a while to come back from that I guess just what again I know there’s a lot of basketball left but what does that kind of say that nine- n now after the way yeah you know I don’t know I don’t know what it says I just know we’re 9- n uh We’ve earned that um we’re playing terrific basketball right now uh this was a huge win for us because it’s an in season when uh we want to we want to win that now we put our name on that we said that early so um you know I don’t even know what that means that we win are we in it I don’t even know not that yet so you beat Detroit in the quarters that’s all okay see I don’t even know it I don’t even know the rules of it I just would like to win it you know and get there so uh but just being 99 after that start is nice uh but clearly we want to be way better than that uh Dre has you know these Great Moments and then no Dre will bre tough yeah I’m just kid like how do you try to help him through like that you know you got pi your spots cuz he he plays extremely hard he’s a very uh emotional player um you know when he turned the ball over I didn’t say a word um wasn’t the time um you know tomorrow or the next day I’ll show him uh you know it’s funny because we we talked about it he walked up to me and said no interior passes this exactly what I said this morning you get it on the nail do not throw it in the paint uh I’ll just throw it on the out cuz there have too many hands and to it in the bank so you know uh but he’s young and he’s learning you know uh but I thought he did some things like we kept trying to get him to set pcks early in transition I thought he did in the first half he did that and did a really nice job of it you’ve said a couple times that there is value to the tournament and people have I think more understanding of it even though you’re still not clear on all the rules yeah why does it matter like what what is the point WN matters you know and there’s a tournament and so if you’re competitive you want to win I do think for different like last year if there’s no inseason tournament I don’t think Indiana makes it to the Eastern finals right this year we get off to a terrible start uh and we had even talked about the inseason tournament then the inseason tournament comes it gave us something uh to play for you know so uh I think every team will use it differently you know I heard Joe Missoula said there’s a tournament we want to win it you know so there’s a lot of that uh there’s a lot of competitive people in this league and I know 30 of those are named coaches they all want to win that thing if they can so
