yeah I’d like to shout out wvery n Nation they turned this into a home game um a couple of the uh the workers outside said that they felt like this was the best crowd that they have seen and they’ve had some some schools that really travel well in this event so I want to show gratitude towards our fans um they did give us extra energy tonight was a little bit choppy like it has been at times all year and I feel personally like and the staff feels the same way that we’re learning a lot about ourselves through these these experiences until you’ve been in these B with guys you don’t really know how they’re going to respond to certain things but I I do think we we tightened up defensively the last 15 minutes um we were able to change our coverages up a few times and our guys communicated and adapted well on the Fly and uh came up with some really big 50/50 loose basketballs um in the last five or 10 minutes that I think gave us a little bit of of of a margin of breathing room on the offensive end when we when we weren’t really clicking James you want to start a s yeah going back to what R said about that W force game mentioned stuff about s like guess have you seen a change of mentality with this team ever since is that something like Rody’s been driving home that just something that I mean look we we shoot a lot of Threes we play in space we air on on playing with freedom and confidence and and sometimes with that uh you want the game to loosen up and be a certain way and when teams don’t allow it to be that way you’ve got to meet the challenge with physicality with aggression on the glass and I thought our guys did that yes there have been people that have implied that we’re not the toughest team um and one of our sayings in house is the only difference and criticism and feedback are how it’s received if if that’s how people feel uh that doesn’t change how we feel but we we we are aware that there’s some things we have to get better at and and and adjust through but we’re so big we shouldn’t be uh we shouldn’t be get outrebounded by these teams we’re all we all know that but sometimes it’s it’s quickness sometimes we’re in different positions than we’ve been uh but overall we have a group that wants to get better and they compete at a high level so um it’s not bad for us to have that in our locker room as as a little bit of a a care for motivation know Rody was the conston tonight but it seemed like will was kind of the spark for you guys in the first half on both of their performances but specifically what shedar brought tonight well Rody stringing together some consistency uh he’s been awesome in practice he’s a great leader and he speaks his teammates listen because he’s he’s about the team and he deserves the success he works hard he’s he’s doing it in a lot of different ways he’s he’s doing it as a creator do as a shooter as a driver I thought his driver the first half gave us a little bit of confidence that hey maybe we can get through one of these uh get through some contact on drives and get to the rim and finish um and I I lost my train of thought talking about Rony what was the other part of the question uh it seemed like will was kind of a spark when you guys were down early our bench was awesome I thought even Justin pipp and obviously Ruben Jones will was great LJ KAS looked like LJ Cas again um being back in Florida he had a he had a balance up step and he had a couple possessions that looked like they were going to go down for him so yeah Will started he shot had a couple shot faks around the rim made a big three uh his communication his he’s he’s a guy that can connect uh his group because he’s always talking he’s loud he’s clear so those things are very valuable when we’re trying to change coverages and play different lineups to have someone out there that can really be the voice behind our defense and we fit at a high level tonight we’re guarding three well it took more threes and twos in the first half a lot more twos and threes and got to the line in the second half was that just adjus to the game or was it more of an adjustment or Focus well our staff we’re trying to make a decision do we control a little bit more or do we stay in the flow um long term if we’re able to really play in flow and find matchups and advantages and things like that without stopping uh we like to do that there were a lot of stoppages which allowed us to get a little bit more organized and just maybe remind our guys that we have an advantage here an advantage there if we do this this might work but our guys made plays they were intentional about getting inside and I still don’t think the conver um as well as we’re going to in going in the future around the rim but um credit our guards our bigs did a nice job of long roll and put pressure on around several times credit for that that that camaraderie and and teamwork back Co you think when you flip a roster like they did you know you did here at Michigan bringing so many guys into transfer you think that uh causes some of the like the turnovers and stuff that like that that you had in the year and how do you go about like making them kind of more probably um you just get used to playing with guys where I know if my teammate’s going to do this I’m going to fill behind and I’m going to get get to these spots we’re still not reacting and responding as well as we need to to to penetration getting into into the passing Lanes where the ball can see and things like that but um the the crazy thing about our turnovers they they’ve been a little bit of everything and and I’ve done a deep dive and you know we haven’t turned it over much in transition we’ve been pretty good in the over course I’m pretty sure uh in half court it’s just been um a variety of things so it’s not as if we we do feel like we’ve cleaned up uh a few things as far as meeting our passes hand targets um and then and then it’s just like the dam you know you plug a hole and another one kind of pops out so we’ll keep working at it we’re not going to we’re not going to stress over one particular area we’re we’re going to keep stressing um we’re going to keep valuing uh meeting passes and ball fakes and shot fakes and the things that that really fundamental teams do and and just trust that our guys are going to be a lot more cautious and aware of trying to hit home runs I’ll take two more on your left uh Dusty first time back in Florida and U must be a bit of a homecoming it’s Thanksgiving week we got a lot of Florida players I heard LJ’s coach tell me it’s High School coach 20 people will come down just to see him tonight he said he had a bounce in Step talk about what it means to you guys well obviously these all the guys from Florida on our roster are very um important rotational players for us and and obviously being back home in front of friends and family they want to play well and and obviously the winning is the the highest priority but um it’s nice to be back one of the uh one of the guys said they they saw a lot of FAU hats and shirts and and and obviously with so many Michigan Maze and blue here that that’s nice that people in the area that that rooted for our staff and our players like Vlad are coming over to support and any help uh anyone that wants to jump on the bandwagon to support us on Wednesday and help us get over the hump and and uh against whoever we play is going to be a tough game and we’ll welcome them in with open arms and and hopefully turn this into a good environment one second take one final question you know one new guys in the what does it mean you to have some familiarity with Vlad coming over with you from it’s extremely important I think more in the locker room when when vlad’s not with us um he can Echo messages he can I guess let the players know what’s really really important to us in stad everything can’t be most importance and I think he does let the guys know what’s really important uh when when we need to really have our antennas up for certain things but um he’s been invaluable just because he’s such a great teammate he’s so unselfish and he’s always trying to do things for others and that those behaviors are contagious so we’re very very grateful he came up North with us um being from Russia he’s used to the uh the cold winter so uh he he he always talk about how I missed it and then yesterday we landed or two days ago we landed and he said man I I I didn’t realize how much I would enjoy this so it’s been a nice homecoming for him as well there are a lot of people in this in South Florida um that he has a relationship with that are cheered for him as well thank you coach thank you guys
