title cap they are the champions my friends for the second time in the last three years the 11th time since 2000 13th time overall the Philadelphia Eagles are champions of the NFC East they also clinch at least the number two seed in the NFC playoffs in the Super Bowl tournament in the process they just happened to devastate the division rival Dallas Cowboys 41 to7 worst beat down of the Cowboys since the 44-6 win 16 years ago yesterday that got the Eagles into the playoffs back in 2008 there and Ruben can tell you the rest you got to read his P don’t tell me now I’m reading the P we got Time NBC Sports philadelphia.com there’s Dallas Gard they’re going to get him back soon we hope worst beat down of the Cowboys in a while there hopefully more championships in store for the Eagles this season including the ultimate championship in February for now though we celebrate the conquest of the division noan Smith bra let’s NFC champions how about 2,000 yards from Squan barley we got to celebrate that how about four turnovers starting with a pick six by Chanty Gardner Johnson how about sequan with 167 yards topping 2,000 for the season he needs 101 to break it not going to happen just know he would have done it and how about Kenny picket how about Tanner mcke standing in there with two touchdowns four touchdowns when you add in mck’s two touch Jeffrey Lorry Bravo you hired Howie Roseman way to be and a lot of other players you know that I’ll tell you what the best owner in the NFL it says right here um but four touchdown passes or four total touchdowns from the backup quarterbacks and all is well in Eagles Nation as they now head to the last regular season game of the season next week here against the the New York Giants one it’s going to be a rough one I’ll tell you you’re right Jake Elliot looks like he’s found his stroke Darius SLE nice job was that serani walked off with how about Grant calcar with one handed blocker look like your former teammate Mike Quick uh as we watch quinon Mitchell still searching for his first pick but gotj DJ robbed him did but but a special SL two touchdowns for Devonte Smith who said that was going to happen I think it was Ron jorski Jeff stoutland go coach and you saw St sideline stotland University pumping his face there Nick when Squan Barkley got over 2,000 there’s Nick serani this guy 47 wins for the first four years second most win total ever behind George C for Tanner M our third string quarterback oh this is great third how about that third string quarterback did pretty well we’ll find out about the second string quarterback can he pick it and what is in store for him cuz Brandon Graham he said don’t count me out if they get to the Super Bowl I don’t know if it’s going to happen he had the tricep surgery and of course Ashley okay we just wanted to get dandro you know what Dom dandro was in there in the corner he is the D dandro to be sure Here Comes ncoe Dean did not play today with an abdominal injury CJ GJ right there with that pick six 69 yards down here comes the these are giants mil and L Johnson to the cameraman is look like Frankie Lazar hey where are the cheerleaders where are the cheerleaders at are they comeing down here too you got everybody in you got I know I don’t know there’s certain things we just can’t hope to wish more Jaws take it easy after last week after after the way things went in Washington I thought it was really important for this team to bounce back young defense you didn’t know how these guys are going to respond and I I thought all phases they responded beautifully Dallas has been playing better uh especially for the defense after the way that game ended Sunday they eliminated any doubt I mean they were terrific after that one drive they didn’t give up anything in this game four more takeaways uh first time they’ve had nine takeaways in a two- game span uh in over 20 years so uh it was a it was a terrific bounce back if there was any doubt and I think last year what happened last last year is in the back of some people’s minds the same time of year but they certainly Prov that that’s ancient history so tough pick it I was what a game for Kenny picket my goodness 10 I thought it was important they won this game in this kind of fashion M and it was but you know what else is important and you can file it under the heading act like you’ve been there Barrett Brooks they walked off the field you don’t see any whooping you don’t see any uh fist pumping they hey was another win and we just happened to win the division I don’t know what they’re doing in the locker room but what is that cowboy star get that out those thees going back to the yeah going back to the uh to to the locker room but you know it they needed to come back and win like that they are definitely getting better and peing at the right time going into this last game in which I don’t I doubt if any of the starters play because they’ve wrapped up where they need to wrap up but just in case there is a chance the 49ers do beat the Lions and then there’s a chance that this Green Bay team tonight beats the Minnesota Vikings so I mean there a lot still going on right now 100 yards away from the the the the rushing record for Squan so many things but at at the end of the day this is a great win and our Fishbowl has been cleaned up and we’re good once again going into the playoffs that’s important to clean the Fishbowl man you got to clean that fish our Fishbowl to us I mean what are we going to talk about for the rest of the week this was a complete philadelph butt kicking you know what I’m saying a lot of stuff I I I’m going to mention the name no one probably even knows watching this show we all know Doug NM M quarterback coach of the Philadelphia Eagles it’s hard to they know who is well not everybody but but we got to prepare one quarterback then two quarterbacks then three quarterbacks and you get the performance out of your backup and your third string quarterback and you got today that that that’s a testament to not only the head coach we always talk about the coordinators but some of those lowly guys that are position coaches don’t get the recognition they deserve that’s why this team is winning there are great position coaches as well throughout this whole entire Rost so today was a testament when you see the two quarterbacks play we know what Jaylen can do we know he’s a great player we know he’s a top five player in this league when number two comes in and Kenny pck it and tan M comes in number three and look efficient that says a lot about the coaching staff in general as a whole and I thought Kellen more called a terrific game where he he let Tanner mcke throw well he let Kenny picket and Tanner mcke both throw the football yeah uh instead of just running saquan play after play like we saw last week in Washington and I think the difference is that he has he had had reps all week uh K picket did and you know you’re you’re not going to win a game if you’re that conservative that you’re not giving the quarterback a chance to throw got to be some trust yeah you got him on a Ross for got to have some trust he’s he’s your backup for a reason and I thought Kenny picket was terrific played tough uh I mean he was taking a beating out there from from Parsons and on those on those and they late hits they weren’t even like they were late hits Parson hit I thought was when when you look at it a second time he gave him a real good shot that yeah you know and I thought the Cowboys knew their only hope to win this game was to come in and be chippy and try to get the Eagles out of their game try to get them cuz look that’s their reputation that they’ll you know they’ll go over the line and and they tried to do that and it didn’t work but that was their only chance to play a chippy game because they don’t match the Eagles for talent we this team is incredibly talented and we got back of playing in some position making big plays but this incredibly talented thing if we go in to the playoffs now it looks like you know maybe the injuries will be calmed down a little bit I’ll difference for the Eagles they’d still have to beat the Giants no doubt that that would be um you know as far as the NFL is concerned a cakewalk next week but there are other things Minnesota needs to take care of the Detroit Lions so we shall see here’s our electrifying moment presented by our friends at Toyota and this is some of what the Eagles have aass this season the 13th NFC East title in franchise history it’s their 11th since 2000 they’ve won two out of the last three now Dallas won it last year fourth season with 13 or more wins in Fran history they can tie the franchise record of 14 wins next week against the Giants that game is here 11th division title has mentioned since 2001 Ruben when you look at that and you’re preparing some of this in your reportage on the website what do you make of this how how does it stack up against other eagles teams in your view well you know it starts with Andy Reid who beat the Cowboys more than any coach in history he’s I mean he just never lost to the Cowboys and I think Nick has kind of you know taken that mantle and um this is you know this was a statement game I thought that like nobody’s won this division two years in a row since the Eagles in 03 and 04 I guarantee that’s going to end next year and the Eagles are going to win another one they are look Washington Washington’s got some nice young players a nice young uh quarterback but the Eagles are the class of this Division and they’re a young team and they’re not going away so I I think they’re in a terrific place I think Jaws is totally right when you look look there’s really good teams out there in that’re there’s you know they’re going to have to beat to to win this whole thing but they’re as good as anybody and I don’t see a team out there that scares me I don’t see a team out there that the eagles look at and say they you know might they’re going to be favored against us they are that good right now and they didn’t even have their quarterback the cumulative number 7513 75 to 13 cumulative number of Eagles against the Cowboys this week this year I that’s Total Domination total Domin 46 in the first one yeah I mean just crazy crazy domination against you know an arch bitter r and I could not love it anymore yeah yeah yeah yeah you you you talked about what can we possibly say what can be said this week upcoming about the Philadelphia Eagles the the first thing is saquan Barkley in his 2,000 yards 2003 to be exact and he’s got 100 to go to break the record which likely will not happen but he becomes just the ninth player in NFL history to eclipse the 2,000 yard rushing Mark for the season but the question is do you let him in there for 100 yards if he was going to play against the Giants Nick would have left him in there in the fourth quarter today to get closer to that record so I think by taking him out when he did getting gainwell in there Ty tyreon uh Davis price uh that that was a message that they’re not going to go for it which is the right thing to do I’d love to see him break that record but he doesn’t have anything left to prove look at that number 2005 yards uh 13 touchdowns his average is about 5.8 yards a carry he’s having a historic year he doesn’t need that Rec record to prove he’s the best running back in the game now and one of the best one of the best in history look at the names on that list it’s all Hall of all Hall of Famers Le should be you know and then you look at this you got to look at this I mean come on now we’re going for a championship we want to win the Super Bowl and why risk an injury for him and the likelihood right now I’m telling you right now the likelihood of of of of of Jaylen playing this game it it I mean Jaylen HZ is I don’t think that he might play either I might I think they might rest him especially if we don’t get the second seed I no problem that rest as many players as you can you want to be cuz if we’re unlikely to get the buy so we’re going have to play three games so you want to have your players as fresh as you can going I’m going to flip your opinions right now if the buy is in play if Minnesota loses tonight at home to Green Bay the buy is in play Then saquon’s in there next week is he not I think he still not absolutely you’ll have to win that game yeah if for the buy for the buy he’s got to be in there the buy is on the table if the buy is not on the table do we all agree it would be to play him correct correct we agree so if the Buy’s on the table he’s likely in there he’s got to be in there because that that buy is huge in the NFL we just had to get our pom poms for the Minnesota Vikings to go out there and beat the the Lions that’s what I’m saying and which is a huge tomorrow well I think I think the four L playing with a chip on their shoulder and we got to look at this also not going win that game but you got to look at this though I mean they have a lot of injuries going into their game a lot of injuries their their starting defensive line is almost totally out their starting line linebacking core is totally out they have pieced together a defense that I don’t think can stopped that 49er team so this is definitely a possibility and plus it’s a SC they are out scoring everybody their offense they lost Montgomery so you know that hurt but they still have potent offense all right the the other two items that they’ll be talking about Good off the line this week which is one hoe Roseman you always mention him with regard to building the team how he’s built this this Juggernaut that is the Philadelphia Eagles that may very well go to New Orleans and contend for a Super Bowl championship and the other is Nick serani 47 wins in almost four seasons he is the second most wins of any firsttime coach coming out of the box other than George sefor with the 49ers that’s saying something Jaws we were talking about it before pregame the guy is what what do they call him an executive coach uh he he’s doing it with some executive action I’ll tell you that a great CEO then if because it’s working for him this this is really work you know he’s not calling plays you know he’s he’s more with executive on the island making sure everything’s going well I he’s a coach we were when we played he’s exactly the same coach when we played we play with coaches that head coach coached and then calling play although I did play with Dick for who did love to call the playay call Ray call any place just let you guys know the reason it works is because the things that he’s doing he’s really good at so he’s he’s terrific at setting a culture at communicating with players at getting guys to understand their roles at getting guys to understand understand the expectations to work hard all these things he’s really really good at he’s not a good play caller and he’s not doing it so I think it’s it’s working because he’s only doing the things that he’s really good at and it’s paying off and we you start out I’m talking about the coach assistant coaches I me Vic Fel is going to be I don’t know how how many coaches years they have rub defensive coaches year this team went from last to First yeah the only real major change yeah there were some personel changes some some draft but but you go from 30th to number one defense in league in one short year I think the defensive corner Vic Fano deserves a majority of credit yeah I’m taking taking nothing away from the the great draft T that we’ve had the players that had it but the coaching has been phenomenal nine takeaways in the last two weeks nine takeway that’s insane the most since 99 the the last two games of 99 Andy’s first year the Eagles forced 14 turnovers uh seven against the Patriots and seven against Kurt Warner and the Rams it’s the most in the two- game span since then 26 years ago can you just check them he’s not he’s not a human being he’s a robot 99 everybody knows NB but that the Tampa game you know our Fishbowl our city our fans were ready to T and feather them you know that’s how finicky we are as fans we want the very best at every single course we do you know what I’m saying at every single point but I mean I tell you what you know he to to win this many games this year to complete turn around like this is you know you got to take your hat off to him you know and and I get tired of you know be the the only guy in Philadelphia that’s in his corner at that time only he was nobody guy it’s not about you Soldier it’s about Soldier here it’s not about you but you know what you know what it is so much of what he does is at the NovaCare complex so much of what he does is behind the scenes with the players one-on-one small groups he’s not calling plays he other than should we go for it on fourth down or should we punt a field whatever it is so people want to know how does he do it and you have all expressed how he does it building the culture communicating with the players making sure they’re motivated and connecting you got to buy in you got to get your players to buy in the players don’t buy in and they don’t like your culture they won’t play for you all right here’s what we got Nick serani coming up we got the the all the outstanding defensive players coming up uh everybody in this beat down of the Dallas Cowboys but we started with to 2000 that’s right saquan Barkley post game at the podium 2000 y Market just took about the way you guys did this in a game you have two backup quarterbacks and you guys find a way to get it done yeah first uh thank you but um we we knew that even you know going out with our with Kenny um and obviously Terry came into play that it’s going to take all of us um you can’t be great without without the greatness of others um we kept repeatedly say that and saying that this week and it held true out there um you know we leaned on each other stuck to the game plan and got things rolling most importantly got the win what’s the 2000 yard mark mean to you um yeah I’m not going to lie just you know being a a fan of the the game and the running back position uh to you know reach a a milestone and put myself up there with eight other backs that I respect and know some of them I grew up watching um definitely means a lot but at the same time I wouldn’t be able to do that with um this team um and like I said you can’t be great without the greatness of others and I’m just happy I was able to you know be a part of the team and be able to reach a milestone like that record um yeah uh you know the the way I look at it if it’s if it’s in God’s plan then it is if you know um I’m not you know overly trying to go get it I’m not scared of it like I would love to but at the end of the day you know also we got bigger things that we’re focusing on and we’re able to clinch the clinch the uh division right here um and you know whether it’s we play next week or not and rest I’m fine with that too cuz I didn’t come here and sign here just to you know frush for 2000 or break a record um I want to do something special um and meaning special with the team how you handle that long time short you know coach probably ask you know what your thoughts are on it it’s it’s I mean it’s up to Nick to be honest and you know whatever his decision is I’m all for it if if you know his mindset is you know we’ll go out there and try it and I’ll go out there and try it but his mindset is let’s rest and get ready for you know you know this run then I’m off for that too um and you know I’m not just saying that cuz a camera’s in my face or a mic’s in my face I really mean that um I came here to do something special and obviously breaking a record special but uh I I want I want to be part of I want a banner up there and I think we all do but we gave oursel a chance with that and um you know clinching the playoffs before now with the division and you know like I said now it’s up to you know to Nick and see see what his game see what his mindset is youve talked a lot about how you have to manage you the workload throughout the season do how beneficial would you think resting next week would be do you feel like you need yeah I mean it’s not going to hurt um we at the same time it’s not like rest you know you still got to stay active with your body um if it’s the route there we go I’m not saying you know I’m not saying that’s what we’re doing but uh at the same time still stay consistent that’s been my whole message this whole year is being consistent um know rushing for 2,000 yards and the success I’ve had is not accident um there’s a reason why um and I’m going continue continue to stay on that script and continue stay on that schedule and stay locked in into that that mindset and um get ready for whatever comes up next um can you kind of what’s it feel like I can’t hear you you had not won an nfc’s title yeah um yeah it’s cool I’m not going to downplay it but like I said at the end of the day um you know you know you’re not get remembered for being a 2024 nfc’s division champs um I’m happy it’s my first hat and t-shirt game I didn’t even know it was a thing to be honest so I’m happy be part of that and we did as a team but we all know what the goal is what what was the difference in the second half like up until the last minute of the first half I think you only had like 25 yards and yeah let’s let’s just uh say you know in pregame one of my good friends I’m not going to mention names and you’re going to have to break that record next week um so it’s you know it’s it’s a everyone’s aware um what we’re able to do what we’re what we’re close to doing uh so you could definitely say the mindset was you know not letting letting that happen but um with that being said I think everybody else stepped up and made the plays what we needed to do and you know once we were able to throw the ball a little bit um we get the Run game going and um we also didn’t go away from it they gave me a chance to to get the 2000 and also appreciate appreciate for that too record bre it or no record can you sum up how special this year has been for you it’s been it’s been phenomenal um you know it it puts a smile on my face and when you know you’re a free agency or where I was however many months ago you know kind of in the dark you don’t know what’s going to happen you don’t know where you’re going to be um you know everything’s kind of up in the air uh but after having that conversation you know with Anna and my family and my friends you know we felt that this would be the best place for me and one thing that we wanted to do was also be part of a great team but you know I felt like there was still out there that I could do for my my legacy and for my name and um you know have accomplishing a milestone like that definitely add to that 201 I’m guessing you guys are going to ask the same question was 200 a goal of yours this year or something you thought was going into yeah you never go into it uh with with 2000 on your mind for me uh my 2000 mindset would be more allpurpose uh because how I was kind of use you know in college and coming into the league uh catching the ball a little bit more um but when you got uh AJ Brown and Dallas G and Grant and Smitty you know you you really don’t have to catch the ball that much here um you just go to be able to run the rock uh but it definitely came in you know a thought when probably when the conversations started coming around I was like oh wow like this something I really can accomplish and uh you know the old line was all about it too and they and they wanted to do it how did the conversation go today that fork was it let’s saquin right squin left is that that’s what that series was going to be or who Damn um I wouldn’t that was crazy uh I wouldn’t say that but uh you know we definitely knew with the number was to at least get to the 2,000 um and you know we we we we weren’t leaving this field without at least do accomplishing that and uh that’s not the words from me that’s the words from the guys up front so that means a lot to me and you know when you see that and you know those guys are like this mother effort needs this to get it let’s go get it you know puts a little pressure on you too but at the same time it’s pressure that you want for you to do in 16 games um I don’t know uh it’s great to be able to do in 16 games but I I’m I don’t really believe in you know say if I play next week and if I break Ed’s record uh which one would be phenomenal but I’m not into like the oh if you do it in 17 or 16 games um you know I’m a I’m a fan of position uh if that’s the case then OJ got the record OJ did in 14 games I know you know we really don’t speak about that but in reality he rush for 2014 games um Ed it took him 15 to do it so if any think it’s like why are we even having the conversation or if you’re trying to get Ed’s record if that’s a conversation it should be well you got to do it in 14 and the way football is right now it’s kind of hard to rush for 2,000 yards and um 14 games so whether it’s 16 whether it’s 17 um it’s a feat that you know you can never take away from what I was able to do with the o line and you know only eight other players did it so uh it’s a special moment what out about the moment where you did break the record make calls time out you get to spend the moment with your teammates um yeah yeah I did know I I broke it on that run um I’m not going to lie um but it was just it was just special the the fact that you know going out there and you knew what you needed and then it’s like you know you’re like your mind you’re like all right damn like I want to get this but then when you look up and you’re in a huddle and you got Lane saying let’s go get this for this mother effort like that’s like you’re like wow and it just goes to show you that you know what’s this team all about and you know we all want to see each other shine and thrive and you know I can’t do it I can’t those 2,000 yards I can’t do it without those guys up front and um definitely you know might hurt my pockets a little bit but I’m definitely going to make sure I take care of those guys that said that he doesn’t want you to break the record which you’re kind of respons I don’t think uh if you had a record would you want me to break your record you know what I mean uh I don’t look at it that way uh I’ve been I haven’t you know broke records uh on I guess I have this year technically um with like the eagles franchise but so if 10 years from now or next year three years however long when I’m done playing football um if a back is able to you know beat my Eagles franchise record or say if I did break Ed record you know I kind of go ahead and get it it’s fun you know you want to be that it’s honor to be able would have that name and uh have your name attached to that record um and having guys chasing it guys been chasing that record for 40 years um so yeah I don’t I don’t see it as like a shot I don’t see it as you know Throwing Shade you shouldn’t want me to break your record um but you know that’s how I look at it thank you guys guy is a legend that’s the one season with the Philadelphia Eagles he is a legend on the Run presented by Duncan because you know America runs on Duncan maybe even saquan Barkley we don’t know 167 rush yards today 2005 on the season ninth player in NFL history with 2,000 yards in a season he’s 101 rushing yards to break the NFL record records 2105 by Eric Dickerson in 1984 and I love what saquan Barkley said about the number of games required to get the record he said OJ did it in 14 games and no one’s talking about that Eric Dickerson did it in 16 games I I don’t care he said I’m a fan of the position I’m a fan of football and if whatever I whatever I need to do to get it done in a season as it constitutes now it’s 17 games that is the record and and I did it also I thought it was interesting finally after saying I don’t care about the not that I don’t care about it but just that this is all for after the season and I’ll think about it later Etc he kind of lets us in a little bit on his thinking that yeah I knew where we were I knew I definitely got it on that run I knew the line said let’s go get it for him and I thought that was great why shouldn’t he talk about that he does it he just comes across is such a class guy I mean he toss his bouquet to everybody it’s not about him it’s not about me it’s about this team winning all the structure of the Eagles organization first class
