hey friends this is doany TV glad to have you board here this evening for another edition of Edmonton Oilers updates and of course the news maybe a little bit more today than it was yesterday as the Oilers go out and obviously don’t have any games until Friday but that doesn’t mean there’s not topics of Plenty to get to this evening there seems to be one according to multiple sources tonight that it might be a little pressing come tomorrow morning and we’ll see where the chips ultimately land with that one we’ll discuss that and more upcoming here in this Edition today if you’re new to the watch the game or something stupid but we won’t get too too far down that road first we will stop here where the injury update today from Chris block not so positive on Victor arvidson and Zack Heyman well 5 to8 days for both arvidson and Heyman neither will play in the weekend games but are expected to join the Edmonton Oilers for the road trip Friday in Utah Saturday in Colorado and Tuesday night in Vegas here’s what I’ll tell you Friday night we lose okay just follow me Friday night I’ll be sitting here in the studio watching the hockey game we’re guaranteed to lose now we go back to Saturday a gamble against Vagas pun intended all right let’s go here we move on we move on we making bad jokes uh Matthew sooy what do we know about him well we don’t know a lot about uh the Bakersfield Condors this year simply because there’s not a lot to know they really haven’t as they haven’t over the past two three years now going into year three haven’t really been all that special and what’s happened here is the Oilers coverboards are bare yes the Oilers have stacked up some Talent via the free agency pool in the junior ranks but just in terms of I don’t know getting the most out of the roster and keeping health The Bakers field Condors have not been the best at that so what you have here is DM’s tweet version similarity to Jean Prince that we looked at earlier and then uh reply to the Tweet was about uh asking about sooy being the call up well uh the plan is to have Matthew sooy as we have known play the first half of the season in the AHL as a first year Pro and go from there again you expect by Christmas time he should be up to speed and if he’s dominating and the Oilers need is punch on the right side you imagine he comes up if not he maintains a full year down there and away they go hopefully leading the Condors to the playoffs if that is even still in the picture at this moment um and goes to say he won’t be recalled unless the Oilers are in Dire Straits when it comes to callop options you know right now Noah Phillips number one on that list if we need a center Dr Kula is number one on that list if we need a Winger then you kind of have some other guys that might be still ahead of Matthew just for the simple fact of getting the job done on the fourth line as opposed to you know Matthew Foy you’re not recalling him to play six minutes if you recall Matthew sefo to play six minutes you might as well have wasted the cap literally cap space money by burning it with a lighter and laughing at yourself because that’s dumb okay that’s dumb if you’re going to give a guy a shot give him a shot so that is where I would put that to you tonight and then we go here to that uh important hey update that might be happening uh David you’re check a trade is expected sometime in the next 24 to 48 hours I think from everything I’ve read today from Frank clli Elliot Freeman and all those tweeting about it seems that the trade is expected in much more in the 24-hour time frame um unlikely to be the Oilers but I’m going to tell you right here right now I wouldn’t rule the Oilers o necessarily there’s there’s potential here that you know when rumors swirl and it seems like the Oilers are to trade talks they seem to Glide on in in the back door there a little bit and swoop in and get a guy it’s happened a couple times over the past few years the Oilers has been a sneaky team to pick some guys up that are mentioned on the market so I wouldn’t be surprised but again I don’t see it being likely so that’s a little bit of both worlds there for you on that one of course by the time I have this video up I bet you David ‘s been traded and I look like an idiot so don’t worry too too much about it we’ll be fine we’ll survive we’ll get this done and we’ll see what happens this evening now we move on talking trade to another update here from Daniel new Jen Bowman basically a reply to um a reply about the matthus seoyan uh basically Daniel new Jowan shutting down um talk about trading for a goenda view it looks like is the organizational view is offensive issues have hurt them more than goal tending overall and we know for a fact that an Oilers team that has Conor McDavid Leon dyle Zack Heyman Ryan nen Hopkins Jeff Skinner Victor arvidson and namely a third line that we brought back specifically to be as good as they were in the playoffs you shouldn’t be averaging less than three goals per game so while we are upset with Goal tending overall I did that video yesterday the goal tending really doesn’t look all that awful anymore at 3.14 goals against per game if the Oilers suddenly start scoring at a four plus goals per game clip here and get that goals per game averaged out to about 3.6 let me tell you we’re going to start racking up wins in bunches we’re 11 n and two so even at a negative goal differential we’re winning hockey games and at least splitting points and others but we can be so much better and if we start scoring goals it’s going to be good night game over I know that doesn’t necessarily work out for playoffs and I get skewered for that every time but again right the Oilers have time to upgrade this team the more defense they can accumulate towards the trade deadline the better and again Stuart Skinner was within a goal and a half of winning the Stanley Cup for the Edmonton Oilers nobody’s going to say that right they’re going to say that Stuart Skinner cost the Oilers the Stanley Cup but the go tening Duo of Skinner and picker were a goal and a half away and again they can’t score the goals unless maybe it’s an empty net and you somehow hit a lucky shot one in a million um you know what they ain’t scoring the goals so you know you might need to score more than one goal to win the Stanley Cup and that doesn’t just go for the Oilers that goes for a lot of teams out there so so um I would love to see definitely Stewie get a shot at Redemption of leading this team to the Stanley Cup Final and trying to win it but again that comes at a heavy cost of having to upgrade the team in a lot of other areas and get a lot more to players that haven’t quite given you their best yet this season so we stay tuned obviously a lot of topics here to talk about here the rest of the week uh Matthew soya nice little update on him that’s always awesome to see that the Oilers are actually staying the course with a prospect development plan now that said as I said Bakersfield is an absolute disaster class in Prospect development over the past 3 years um and that comes from the Oilers again all this R&D research we’re doing here just ain’t quite paying off dividends yet but you know um as we say in Oilers land when something doesn’t work maybe you fire the coach just just saying just floating that out there hey may maybe that’s an idea again don’t want to wish that on Colin chalk who’s been a good soldier for the organization but again when things just don’t seem to be panning out you got to start talking about changes and uh while things have been pretty stagnant in Bakers field for the past little bit so maybe there’s a solution to be had there but friends for
