Elliot fredman thank you so much for joining us my friend on a very busy Wednesday especially with all the four nations roster announcements coming your way uh let’s go ahead and start though Elliot with the recent news of Tyler Sean and that injury what does that mean for the Stars well Lauren what I think it means is that the Dallas Stars are going to be in position where they can think about adding and uh you know I think teams are always careful about this kind of thing they always sit there and they kind of say you know what we have a timeline here that we don’t really know for sure what it’s going to be but um I think you could at least open up the possibility that the Dallas Stars at least will have a situation where they could potentially add somebody else uh towards the end of the season at the trade deadline and maybe we’ll see about whether or not Tyler sigan will be able to come back in the regular season or not you know obviously this is a controversial thing and I expect Dallas to play it uh calmly and carefully but I I think that there’s no question at the new today has opened up the possibility to some of their Rivals that Dallas will be in position to add and maybe welcome Tyler Sean back for a playoff run you know he was playing pretty well this season as you see Dallas is a real force and I think sometimes the the bigger tell Lauren is the reaction by the teams around them as opposed to the reaction of the team itself and I think that what a lot of teams are expecting is the Dallas Stars are going to gear up that they are going to look to add and see can we maneuver this like other teams have that we can add and then bring back Sean in time for the playoffs man I’m sure Stars fans would love to see that all unfold and say you come back just in time for a deep run in the postseason speaking of the central here let’s talk about the Colorado Avalanche and the goal tending situation continues to be a bit of a question mark despite that comeback last night Wedgwood coming in what does Colorado need to do in net well I think what they what they need to do is get a lot better there’s no question about that they aren’t right now they’re not getting Stanley Cup goaling we can all see that what will they do is I think that’re you’re going to see Scott Wedgewood get a bit of a run here to see what he can do um you know they they went out and they targeted Wedgewood obviously trading for him from Nashville um I think with after the come back last night I wouldn’t be surprised at all to see him play tomorrow like the one thing about the the Colorado Avalanche they’ve shown is that we sit here and we talk test several times a year about they need goal tending they need help um they need to go out and they need to do something and they really don’t do what a lot of other people expect them to do so I always keep that in mind Lauren I think right now woodwood gets a bit of a run like I said I think he starts tomorrow and they see how he handles the job I think the other thing that the Avalanche are kind of doing is they really have to be careful with their cap situation for when you know what Landis scog situation eventually is or isn’t going to be and I think they also want to wait to see if there’s anything they can add later in the year so I think they stand Pat for now they see how Wedgewood does and we’ll see where we are in a few weeks yeah that’s a great point they are a bit handcuffed there with cap situation uh let’s go back to the Northeast here with the New York Rangers we know there’s been a lot of Buzz surrounding this organization let’s just talk about the Outlook after the slow start to the season of course all of the trade rumors surrounding this club well I think Lauren they’re the team to watch right now I I really do think they’re the team to watch you know they’ve got a few days off they last played on Monday they play again on Friday and I think what Chris jury is doing is he is using the time to see exactly what he can or can’t do out there and this is not just Lauren about the players that they mentioned on their trade on the trade list the the criers and the tras I think this is about everybody I think what he’s using this time to do is determine who uh on his roster creates interest who he would actually want to do anything with I think it goes beyond those two guys now look there’s certain players he’s not touching guys like lafrenier who they just extended and there’s certain players who have no move Clauses guys like zabad and troch and guys like that that they either wouldn’t want to move or they wouldn’t be able to move even if they wanted to so this is what I think it is it’s a deep dive what’s the interest in his players and what can I do I think the other thing is is that you know with a guy like trouba there’s a lot of talk about trouba in the summer and I’ve checked around on this again you know trouba’s family situ situation was such they wanted to stay in New York for another year and I think that’s kind of what everybody agreed to and it was made very clear that if trouba was traded last year he just wouldn’t be happy because it wasn’t good for his family situation I don’t think that’s changed and what I think some teams are looking at is even if there is interest in trouba and I think there is do you really want to acquire him when he’s not going to be happy like I think next year he understands he’s going somewhere else this is his last year in New York I don’t think he’s wants to do it now and I think that affects his situation you know krider I’ll tell you this I I definitely think Lauren there’s interest in kryer I have no doubt about that I think the biggest question I got over the last few days was why is this guy even available I think some teams are trying to figure it out but the first thing I think that that jury wants to do is figure out exactly what the trademarket is for his guys he’s Fielding those calls I think Ottawa was among the teams has talked to the Rangers about something but I think there’s a lot more too man a really complicated situation there over at MSG uh very emotional night at the Saddle Dome last night what are your thoughts from Calgary after goodro and you know his family was honored last night you know Lauren I thought I thought the flames in the Blue Jackets especially the players like those teams have now played twice in the last week it’s really emotional I I thought that a lot of the things they did the organizations in the immediate aftermath of the terrible tragedy they did an incredible job I thought the players in the organizations the past week they both did an unbelievable job um like you know and I wanted to shout out one of my teammates Ryan Lesley um you know um you know Ryan Lesley did an interview with um the goodro family in Columbus he did another one last night post game with uh with the father and Michael backlin and Rasmus Anderson who were fantastic like I think you know Lauren you’ve been in you’ve done these job this job for a long time it’s these are those are hard interviews to do you’re trying to be sensitive as much as you can I thought Ryan did a great job I thought the flames and Blue Jackets did a great job naming him the first star in the building and you know I think the best thing about it honestly Lauren was at the funeral you know like and my grandparents they went through something similar and I just remember like how hard it was for them and uh you know the the parents just looked better and I think that was the the best thing for me personally to see was that just how the parents seemed to really enjoy last night and uh I thought that was I thought that was really really huge well OT I’m say sorry I’m sorry to hear that about your grandparents and and to your point it did seem therapeutic but so well done by the Flames organization and so well done by you thank you so much for taking the time to do this today I know this is one of the busier days for you no worries Lauren anytime have a great night thanks you as well
