about the way you guys were able to control the first half and and the resilience you showed when when it requires in the second half exactly exactly uh I think uh we were in control of the game probably unless the last 5 minutes 10 minutes where we concede but I think it’s also normal but overall I think uh we control the game we create chances and we score two we could score more but overall I think we we deserve to win the game a lot of positive so let’s start with this one because Marco kurella we’re going to get to the red card but first the goal uh which set of skills do you see in him for him to be able to play Both Sides as a fullback and an attacking player because apparently you you you have a new attacking player now yeah for me is all about the position you have to be in the right position and if you are in the right position you’re going to in that case have chance so we work with Mark for this game to arrive and to occupy the right position he was in the right position and uh we we we score with with Mark that uh it’s we are very very happy and nice finish as well as a good header yeah absolutely it’s not something normal first of all because as you said it’s fullback then he not a big fullback you know tall fullback but uh we work during the week uh for this kind of solution also and we have been lucky and with Nicholas Jackson before he scored like 20 minutes before he scored he misses a big chance and then he goes and and he tries again he has a nice shot and he doesn’t get it and then he gets the second goal what does it say about his mentality yeah I said uh after Tottenham game that in that game he didn’t score but he did the most important thing that is after we score the penalty with Cole Palmer the 22 he was the only one the rest they were celebrating the goal and he was the only one go for the ball because he want to win the game and start quick so this show the desire of Nico and tonight he score but um off the ball he was working hard and this is what we need I imagine fr traded with the red card because curella scored uh you guys won the match it was over and and he gets a second yellow for aggressive behavior so he he he is a fiery uh player but do you feel like he needs to dose it up better no I asked the referee to be honest I didn’t see the the second yellow card they just said me that Mark was red card so I asked the referee after the game he said that the second yo card was for bad attitude and yeah for sure there are things that we can do Thomas frustrated especially not only for the results but because you you had some really good chances in the second half didn’t you yeah yeah of course I think we played a a very good very good game here at um at Stanford Bridge um and I think actually we were unlucky not to get um a draw um some big chances we we missed in the end um and I think we managed um over the 90 minutes to go toe totoe in in many moments with with Chelsea especially the second half and I think a draw would have yeah probably been okay fair um so very pleased with my players’s performance in in many ways um yeah nothing more to say could you talk a little bit about the game plan because there were some really good defending in the first half but was it one of those cases where you just had to sacrifice a little the the offensive uh side of your game or did Chelsea really forced you on on this one no of course we uh Chelsea are a very good team uh well coached um very good players spent a few quit on on the squad um and um I think they are playing with confidence and they’re good so also credit to them to push us back a bit in first half um but I think in overall we we took care of it we had one where I think we should have done better on the one0 goal but hey that that happens uh second half I think we were even more aggressive went a bit higher uh in many moments um so very happy with that um um you could see um how much trouble we we caused them um the way they celebrated the two-nil goal the way they celebrate the win in the end the way they played Short tried to to get the win shows that this was of course a a big win for them against us which I’m I’m pleased with the performance we had there and um I think the overall performance okay you can see the city lost Aral liol Drew I think they they are right up there in the title race uh they can talk all they want about but I think they’re very good and it’s big praise for them and their second goal comes in a moment where you guys were really pushing them and pressing and creating chances what do you feel was key in in the changes you you presented in the second half was it more a matter of attitude or finding the right passes in the right spaces um you know I did think we we um we keep staying in the game we uh we grew a little bit more into it um throughout second half and uh yeah we created some some very good chances the end a few arguments uh what what did you see on on the pitch we were talking uh now with sap and and he was just telling us that it was just very competitive game two teams who really wanted to win but but what can you tell us uh no I’m the say I I agree it was a very competitive game two teams that want to win uh that can get a little bit heated you know no no problem uh we all want to win and again here we are talking about the away form of course you had really tough opponents away from home but did you see any patterns today tonight that that repeated itself compared to other games yes that we perform very well so if we keep doing that then that’s a good pattern and then I know over time they’ll turn around but um most important we got the three points in the head so we’re happy uh what was important in especially in that second half when brenford had that spell when they were really trying and getting good opportunities to to resist and to defend as a team yeah it was um difficult cuz they always play like set pieces you know and put in a lot of people in the box and it was very hard game though but um we won and we are delighted and very happy now and especially in the first half you guys really controlled the game uh 15 shots it was a very impressive uh attacking performance what was key to to have this level of of control against brenford yeah the key was um listen to the manager and respect the plan and then we did exactly that and the first half we control and then we scored and then it was the game was a little bit open and then we got the second one but in the last minute it was more difficult cuz they wanted to score again so but thank God we got the three points it was the most important this level of control that you showed in the first half do do you feel like it it’s one of the main points of of uh progress uh of progress from from Chelsea from last season to to this season to to be able to reach this level of of control yeah we getting to know each other better the players you know them just listening to the manager and doing last year is finished now we just concentrate on this year and try to go forward yeah and you scored the second scored the winner uh before that you missed a big chance and and you didn’t let it get to you so so what was going through your head when you missed that chance and then you had another one a really good shot and then finally you scored yeah the um I missed that one but um the most I was thinking about is I’m going to get another one and then I’ll try to score to make the team win so and I God helped me and I did exactly that so it was good do you feel mentally it was a big switch from you uh from last season to this one because last season it looked like when you missed chances you felt less confident and and now it it seems like it doesn’t get to you yeah it’s um it’s all about football you know getting more experience you know last last season was um different from this season cuz I was new here but now um as I’m playing I’m getting more um confident and knowing each other the players as well so I’m very happy and I scored today again so good and two points away from Liverpool of course the the manager doesn’t like to talk about title race so much but it’s really hard to look at Chelsea and not see you guys into the title race as big contenders so how have you’ve been dealing with it no really me I don’t even know they two points ahead I’m just trying to win every game and try to focus on the next one I look at the table I don’t even know what his title isace to be honest you really don’t know no I know but I’m just saying like I don’t even look at the table just trying to win every game you know just focusing game by game and trying to win as much as possible well done then thank you thank you
