through your mind we we saw the we saw the good and bad of the system today yeah yeah if if there were doubt as to what the idea actually is it was actually clear to very clear very clear in terms of approach in terms of tactics in terms of everything but it’s also very clear that certain people May either take time to get to know the system or work for they just not fit for the system not that they are bad players but the system challenges them and the challenge they may either have to get used to it or find themselves through the door I don’t know whether we should get right into line let me let me I want to get to y ya as well I want y to start because you you are always here always oh I just wanted initial thought you want to go into the food and eat yeah take us away yeah take us away well well um really against I switch we saw a bit of confusion or understand misunderstanding of how um Amarin wants a football to be played and how the players understood it yeah but today without a doubt it was quite clear even a when United were trailing by a go you could tell United knew what they were doing and there was some belief in the system um and to be honest when you have the right personel available it makes it really really easy to put your best team out there and we saw that from United today the bench didn’t look weak Mason Mount Revelation so there’s a lot that United can say about this performance that would give them confidence well going going into the future with Ruben all right let’s delve into it right now what did you make of the system let’s talk about the system um for was very clear it was very clear I mean you and there’s a switch there is a player with an to go and attack the space either go in there sending AC cross I mean it was so clear if you are in doubt as to how we are going to play or have an idea as to how we are going to play I think today’s game was evident enough KY Pi us away your the system what did you make of so it was a um he had a three on the back um it was Martinez at left Center back Del l in the middle and mazui at right center back in the middle of the pack it was Bruno Fernandez playing at an eight MH with ugti playing as a six and as Wing backs it was Anthony on the right and malasia on the left Malia’s first start in over 500 games days we have to make mention of that his first start in over 500 Days fans should take notice because I don’t want people to to bury him already and the front three comprised of Mason mounts Rasmus hland down the middle and gachu on the left of the front three yeah so like you described the pattern of play was very easy to see it was heavily dependent on what our wing backs do but the two Wing backs on the day safe to say they struggled Anthony Anthony was supposed to play balls inside he barely did that even when he did bit his man he didn’t make the right decisions he didn’t put in the right crosses but malasia was the one who had more of the freedom of the park and it’s either he didn’t put the cross in at the right time putting the poor Cross or simply just decided to lay the ball play played it safe most often than not and defensively the wing backs are also supposed to cover a lot of ground that’s what led to um the second goal where malasia got beat for peace and blah blah on a normal day that’s not supposed to happen but we all know he’s been out for a very very long time if the system is to thrive the space that is afforded the wing backs these players should take massive advantage of it you see the thing is like I said on the previous episode you can show them how to play the system but at the end of the day the quality of the players is supposed to make the difference right you can’t you can’t tell a you can’t spend this much amount of money on certain players and then expect to teach them basic things exactly these players are Manchester United players for a reason they are not playing for Bor mou they’re not playing in the championship they’re not playing in every D or second division in Spain they are playing for Manchester United they’ve been signed for Manchester United because certain qualities are expected of them they paid huge money for a lot of these players to be able to exhibit that particular quality so I don’t expect the coach to teach you you should know when to put a put in the cross or put in this type of cross no when to shoot no when to pass when you find yourself in open space space that is created by the system yeah that’s where the issue of quality of certain players comes to the four but don’t like I said I don’t want to bury the players now because this is the very very infant stage of the coach trying to show the system fans fans May jump the gun and go like oh this player is this player is terrible this player is that we know some players are Bel we’ve seen them long enough to know that they below par but then again we still have to give the bunch of them most of them the benefit benefits of the doubt and go like they need to get used to the system yeah we go an IL go through pressing up front something that we need to do and do consistently R started up front and did that job brilliantly put pressure on a goalkeeper and forc the error gacho stuck the ball at the back of the net for his eighth goal of the Season top goal scorer despite being as perate as and yet again he was Prof in this game it’s almost like as if we have to sort of live with it and pray that he goes out of it as quickly as that’s where we are right now and then just accept it that’s where we are that’s the stage that we are right and then we like we’ve seen throughout our European camps all the way from even last season quickly we give away a lead how did we do that Bruno Fernandez I don’t want to be sound hyper critical because at the start of the game we saw him play the eight but he wasn’t sticking to the eight he was pouring all around the football Park leaving ugat isolated and alone but when the ball did go into our our defensive thir of the pitch gacho um ugate tried recovering right he did his job by trying to close down the man but when the the cut back went past him to the edge of the Box you’re expecting one of our mid folders to be there yeah and that midfielder is supposed to be the partner for the other midfielder who is buo Fernandez he was just a tad late and then the the the B glams player got the ball stuck the ball at the top Corner after that he refined his game he became more tactically disciplined all throughout the game maintain his position most of the time it wasn’t just all over the place I’ll give him that so it’s just a it’s just a a um critique of his performance today but overall I think BR Fernandez played the eighth position as well as he could then quickly after we considered that equalizer we considered a second it happened way too ofy goes way too quickly in sucess it’s the manner of it that shows that shows that’s in quick succession the manner of the goal shows the flaw in the system as well if if players don’t play as well as they should it was just one huge ball over the top the back three had pushed way up very very high when it happened I was looking for one player doing the replay I was still looking for one player I still couldn’t find that was short that’s the the the left the left Center back right when the goes over the top like that malasia was beaten for peace that’s fine that’s that’s that’s bad that’s terrible it shouldn’t happen but the system dictates that the left Center back is supposed to cover for the wing back that space between the wing back and then the left Center back is supposed to be covered by the left Center back when the left wing back is beaten he was nowhere to be found I don’t know whether he pushed so far high up into the opponent penalty box or what I just couldn’t find it I just couldn’t find him and next thing you know this player had beaten malasia oneon-one with the goalkeeper stuck the ball through on another legs keeper could have done better there was a whole lot wrong with that go it should not not have happened but we found ourselves chasing the game and we did well to find The Equalizer I’ll give props to new Masari before we sign Masari yeah you know I’d always been very argumentative about who should be kept Yogo or wak I was always like I prefer wakao D because I don’t know what D is the only way I would accept back then I said the only way I would accept um be second leaving is if we sign someone who is better than both players when we were linked with mazari I wasn’t really sure what kind of player that he was but after a couple of games I was like you know that’s the real deal that’s a that’s a baller like complete baller he can ball absolute baller and he showed his class again today setting up hon for that equalizer but the striker still had a lot to do hland he scored two goals today I’m not going to criticize him for his performance because eventually he did win us the game but there was something about him that doesn’t allow us to create enough chances for him MH I don’t know whether this makes sense it’s almost like it’s very difficult finding out number N I don’t know why because I don’t he’s got to do with his movement not being in the right positions at the right time but you can’t doubt the efforts today that control and finish brilliant we came out in the second half he made the changes that he was supposed to make because our wing backs kind of let the system down so who went off was it um malasia and Anthony went off and then he brought on Doo Dalo right I think he brought on Doo Dalo first for malasia immediate change 45 minutes under the Bel Malia he can he can work with that he can do something with that when came on see I was thinking it was tactical Brilliance on the part of the manager saying you can’t stick to the bar line but you have to play inside but the point asking I say to myself is it really tactical Brilliance or this player is just being daed and just cutting inside all the time with gachu hanging on the touch line then when he decided to hang on the touch line I realiz why he was cutting inside all time because every single time he was on the touch line he gave the ball away he was trying to commit suicide did you see that ball he gave to to Onana the back pass he gave to Onana Jesus what and he he did that on like three or four SE three occasions I counted three where he dribbled into the middle of the par a simple pass to a what are you doing on a football pitch what are you doing on a football pitch but some way somehow yeah some combination in the front three in the first 10 minutes led to us taking the lead it was beautiful football to watch I think was mazari to to to was it to who it was a combination Mason Mounds was involved in now back flick back to ugate and ugate went through and then put a ball across the face of for for h to put a ball at the back of the net that’s the kind of goal that I expect to be scoring more often where he’s is in the typical Center forward position in the six-yard Box the ball is put across the face of goal he’s just tapping in he should be scoring simple gos like that on a regular basis is it more to do with the supply or more to do with his movement it’s very very difficult to tell at this very early stage but I expect more of that it was a brilliantly worked go and from then we expected to put the game away yeah come and see the old issues right head again G couldn’t put a ball at the back of the net for f G all over the place rashford had a chance he just I don’t know what rashford is doing anymore he just casually put the ball out wi as if it meant nothing and then miss Amad missed a couple of chances as just immature it’s just they should do better honestly they should do better in front of me but the more they wasted those chances the more we knew that as the game wore on there was going to be a spell in that game where we to come under pressure because we not put the game to bed yeah and how is United going to see that that of pressure that is where casiro said you know what I’m going to show you guys I’m going to show you how to ConEd a goal he also went into side mod the P 10 minutes but then again you have to look at the constitution of the back three back five at the end of the day we didn’t have a center back on the pitch yeah he took off deit because theit has been playing too many games and we don’t have center backs ready fit Center back to take up the RO man euro is out Victor office out our center backs we we I thought we have center backs all of a sudden we don’t have center backs yeah and we ended the game we play the last 30 minutes with no Center back on the football pitch so it was telling when the pressure started to mount on it was telling and casir was all over the place hand balls unnecessary fouls giveaways I like what are you doing suppos to be the most experienc let me let me get to let me get to out ya but we saw it out we saw on the game some it’s a crucial win for crucial win for our coach first win at Ultra on that note yeah if you the coach what would be going through your mind I mean you mentioned the point where he spoke about the confusion in the first game yeah when the game ended he quickly ran back he didn’t even go high-f in the players after ging the coach he just moved inside uh you could see you could sense his frustration there was a point where one fre was asking them to kick it in they had to pass it back and you could see how frustrated he was I mean if you’re the coach what what would be going through your mind you can tie it in with your analysis of the game I I believe that that is the right way to put it you don’t wait and celebrate with them because they didn’t execute it to the Perfection or how you wanted it United played well they got maximum points that’s what we want to see however you want the performance to be that convincing that yeah you know that the methods that you’re getting across the players do understand yeah um man united well against ipswitch to be honest after the first goal I thought well we’re going to see maybe 10 or seven or six and then I decided to just tune out to the game and I’m like what’s going on United struggle with the game but it’s all because the players or the the materials available meant we had to play a certain way I guess United had a bit more time this time around from Monday all the way through to today they managed to perfect it in terms of um context United really went into this game with like K said one recognized well two recognized center backs with Sandra Martinez and GCT and Masari makeshift Anthony struggled and then malasia obviously coming back from a a long 500 days away he didn’t have enough um the there were a lot of frailties with the strategy in terms of defensive face once there is a quick opportunity to do a transition for a team if they go Route One it means United are in trouble because our center backs well I noticed a pattern where Leandra Martinez you know with other managers the fullbacks are inverting but with Reuben what he does is he tries to get Martinez to get a bit more involved he joins um ugat in there and it gives Bruno the space or opportunity to join so we can have maybe four or five players in the opponent box so when he steps up it leaves theit theit now has to do the job of two men with malasia who’s returning from injury Masari always does a good but I can’t really fault him for anything Anthony still doesn’t understand and once the players are playing as Wing backs they need to let go of certain instincts which is I’m a Winger I I have the touch line I have to be on the ball at all times no you get the ball you move the ball quickly right now the game for United is quick transitions which I saw today United actually moving the ball a lot quicker you know football has has moved away from um a time where one player Paul schs has the ball he pings it to Valencia and that’s United getting the ball in your in your in your half and then a cross comes in B finishes finishes it football’s move from that it’s about quick transitions from your keeper it goes through a center back it can go through your midfielder it can go straight down to a wide player or it can go through one of the midfielders receives the ball on a half turn and he releases him a strike or a white player and that is what we saw from United today it shows that chance creation this methodology or this process of playing 343 will create a lot of opportunities for Man United I have I haven’t seen United create so many chances and it just kept coming you look at the quality of the the opportunities as well Ahmed should have had a goal gach should have had a proper goal at least he should have scored another one or two hland as well K mentioned he doesn’t know what’s what’s going on with him I think he’s so obsessed with getting involved in the play which is great there’s nothing wrong with that but you need to be at the end of the move and that’s not what we’re seeing from from from from um Highland however he did score some Brillion goals today and we’ll give him credit for that but he needs to be in a fox in the Box United had a if we had a Jamie V of gold in this team United will scor so many goals because he’s not ready to get involved in the buildup play he’s rather looking to stretch the defense and and take advantage of any lapses and finish off the move that’s what United need from a number nine um but beyond that we saw CLA approach of playing and ugat kudos to him he’s actually showed a lot of quality yeah he was very comfortable at in the number six role and comfortable enough to get on the end of um an assist for hland and you realized that United really really well comfortable in the opponent’s thir just making sure they dominated possession put it in places where they could be dangerous and when rashford came on we saw even variety of passing where United were actually playing the go into channels we weren’t seeing that we weren’t seeing that and into the channel know rashford running onto it hland running onto it gachi running onto it and however they still couldn’t finish off the moves but it’s it’s very promising to see that and we must mention that the press in the first half or at least till M Mount went off was not disjointed it was a very very good press and it was organized and the players knew what they were doing the trigger in terms of Hing looking at when the keeper moving um getting the ball or one of the center backs he’s on them forcing errors and that’s how we got the first goal it’s clear that the team looks to have a bit more structure but when there were changes when casmiro came in there when Luke Shaw wasn’t bad actually but when do came Doo is a big problem he needs to understand the system for someone who spent as many years as um as many years at Sporting Lisbon you followed the manager your for is Port Port a portal you you you you understand how he plays or you understand what to expect however he’s stuck in his ways I’m an inverted I just want to get into the Midfield and get bits of football action you you limit the the the chance creation for United this way because once you you go narrow it me means United have to play a certain way when you stay outride there’s a bit more space Bruno can turn on the B ugat can turn on the ball gachu can come and accommodate the space that you’re not occupying and then move back out wide those are the things that really make this um system really interesting but if Doo cannot stay wide cannot play as a as a wing back a wide wing back then you should sit on the bench well well at the moment he will continue to sit on the bench but he really needs to do something about that and it’s quite interesting that we’re playing players um left footer players at rightwing back right footed players are left wi back because the manager knows what that can do in terms of getting the ball into the box if we have to cross it he has two options if it’s G he can go the traditional way if it’s um do it’s going to go a certain way and that that can create good opportunities we saw Ahmed doing that for rashford to go over the the weekend and that is something that will cause a lot of problems because you know when you have a left footed player facing another left footed player he’s going to go on the right of the of that player and that gives him an an advantage just a yard he can get the ball in there quality of the ball will make make it work for him so United really showed a lot of Promise today but we’ve seen that route one can kill this formation just a long ball down the and United will struggle if it’s malasia oraw who’s just coming back from injury it will cause problems for Man United but beyond that I’ll say um I’m I’m anyway well I I had I had before we get to the game against Everton we can preview it and look at which kind of players we should use for that game because I feel that it looks like you are seeing the players who will be playing specific positions we we’ll get to that but the first go that we conceded if you watch the coach and the approach the moment you lose the ball he calls all the players to what to come back now this is what happened you can watch it again all the players came back especially the Defenders back but there was a point where some of the midfielders and the attackers felt there was going to be some quick transition so they decided to delay so do you know what happened there was a cut back and all the Defenders were in there with the attackers that they were supposed to handle what happens edge of the Box edge of the box and then they score there’s a reason why the coach always ask all the players to track back because when you track back are able to what be able to you able to some of these cut backs that do happen we saw a lot and it starts with the leader the leadership Bruno Fernandez he he’s the one he’s the one I am coming to because you saw he was running back and he stopped and that was when the player was able to you know drop in and then kick the ball in to score these are issues and we saw a lot of that last season andon hack similar part Brighton almost everything te was scoring us with cutbacks because the wom the players are able to draw but there are no players oncoming because they’ve been traditionally told that there’s going to be a quick attack the moment we get the ball they need to re defend first get the ball first get the ball first and then we can go that’s the key thing so that’s the point the second Point our Defenders I don’t know anytime we are being attacked I feel there is a problem I don’t know it looks as if the organization isn’t the cohesion isn’t there and the play through are we are supposed to be a back of five we are supposed to have a back five and let’s say two two players two defensive midfielders or other players joining in to give us some 541 um um defensive out of possession some way somehow opponents are able to play through our our our our blocks do do you know how it feels like do you know how it feels like it feels as if they are passing up responsibility all the time oh you are going to make the T oh you are going to make oh then the ball is just moving just moving in between you see you you decisive decisive and aggressive and go for it anyway so this are some of my concerns and I hope that I’m sure I know that I hope I’m sure the coach sees it they they they are seeing it they are noting it and PR through their video analysis they are definitely going to take notes of some of these things like he said we will suffer will suffer in some games of course there are games that will suffer and especially against the big team that are able to play through the press that are able to hide in between your blocks and be able to draw players out and be able to create chances we will suffer but hopefully we able to get some of the Defenders back so we are able to build some level of solidity to be able to counteract some of these situations and as much as possible get back into hold habit get out of old habit as quickly as we have just to add just to add to that just to add to that quickly at the end of the day winning is very important like like amim said it’s all about positive reinforcements if you don’t win they don’t believe in what you’re doing so it’s very important that irrespective of the challenges that we Face we should still win these football G exactly win them so that they believe that you know what despite the fact that they are challenges we can correct these things we don’t go back and go like we have doubts as to whether what we are doing is working so winning is important is very important yeah let me get you against Everton what do we do what would be your Preferred lineup I mean it’s getting clar that certain Personnel are going to be the key members of this this formation what would be your Preferred lineup for this game and how should we approach it I would love it if we could have Euro available or another Center back just so majari could easily just go back to play left wi back for because that would give us a bit of stab stability on that side and then Ahmed stting on the right back no doubt he’s shown that look he can play that role he’s improved defensively and going forward he’s got the quality someone who plays as a number 10 now playing wide as a wing back will create chances for you in the middle I I’ll be more comfortable with Bruno and ugti okay casmiro his legs are not ready for the job that he has to do he can’t play in the Midfield in this particular Midfield in this particular system and then the two behind um the the main Striker hland should be um Mason Mount and rashford I honestly believe that gacho keeps missing too many chances and from what I saw with rashford coming on today he understands he’s understanding the system and he would be running in behind the striker in in behind the defense and because he’s not the main he’s not the focal point it gives him an added Advantage because he’s playing sort of a free role but then he’s a striker and he’s a Winger and that might suit him perfectly particularly for for this Army Everton very very very um how do you call it conservative in their approach who sits in their blocks make it very difficult for you and then hit you route one which is for large spells for large spells today yeah for large spells of the game today we saw we kind of had a preview as to how the Everton game is going to go because B glimp sets back a lot and just hit us route one right so so it’s going to be about breaking them down creating chances but most importantly being more prolific in front of go I think we would win against everon traditionally we always win against Everton some way somehow so like another game that I believe that we can win but we have to you see we took steps forward today in my opinion compared to the EP game you want to see us move another step go up another because after we playing Aral yeah the big one so so and with the lineup that um Yao talked about I couldn’t have even thought about a better lineup it’s actually perfect yeah perfect it’s it’s perfect if if we could just get one Center back back in the in the starting 11 just so that mazari could shift to left wing back that would be ideal because see that left wing back spot first January have to sign somebody first January like we should even let the month even proceed any fix it for two years we have been struggling with left backs the two left backs that we have have are coming back from longterm in we cannot say we are going to rely on them or play them into form before that would probably take the whole season correct M needs probably the whole season to get back get back sharpness yeah sha can break down at every single point see we we talked about playing show at left back and F are like no no no if he plays left back he’ll probably tell his hamstring like everybody’s just scared right we watching the show we know it’s a quality player but we just don’t know what’s going to happen this yeah yeah so we need and and and now Martinez is kind of in drone as well you know so we need to sign a left wing back somebody who would create the chances putting the cross see if you had a left wing back today who was like confident powerful strong classy he’s scoring goals he’s assisting a lot cuz malasia had the freedom of the park his St he just didn’t know what to do he’s like wait I’m playing football again you know you know you know you know the beauty of that system you know the beauty of the system is how you’re able to stretch your opponent because you congest the middle yeah yeah the wing backs isol and then you switch quickly you just switch and when you switch what happens they are stretched they open up the space because somebody will try to catch up while somebody tries to catch up the number 10 are having the spaces to run in between the channels it’s a beautiful system I can’t wa I can’t exe person on that note on that not what this shows is that we need we need we need fit players back as soon as possible we can’t do with makeshift players it’s it’s not going to work you need your your Prime players fit almost all the time to be
