the Crimson Tide a third conference loss is Alabama eliminated Adam I mean the only shot Alabama gets in now is if the the ACC is a one bid conference and then it’s going to be Alabama or South Carolina which one do you put in based on the resume to me the committee has shown us that when you have a bad loss at the end of the season a 21-point loss against Oklahoma that gets you out of the playoff I have a hard time seeing a path for how Alabama gets in unless some crazy things start to happen welcome in 247 sports college football analyst Brad Crawford as well here and look Brad I think Alabama’s eliminated what what’s say you yeah Alabama does have the head-to-head win back in October over South Carolina but the Gamecocks that they be Clemson next week will be winners of six straight games and know by the way South Carolina beat the same Oklahoma team in Norman 35 to9 a few weeks ago so while head-to-head does matter to the committee it’s only going to mean anything if the committee sees Bama and South Carolina as comparable teams so if a 9 and3 SEC team does get in in that last bid it probably is in over a two loss let’s say ACC team no I’m not saying that quite yet three losses was the kind of the deal breaker for me the last month you know I’ve been seeing it I thought maybe the SEC Championship Game runner up maybe a Georgia with three losses at 10 and three overall would probably get in but if you don’t even get to Atlanta and you have three regular season losses like Alabama now has that’s that’s troubling and and Old Miss today too so Bama and Old Miss did not afford to lose a third game and both of them did it here on week 13 and I think it’s pretty clear how good the wins on South Carolina’s resume are right now despite the three losses we’re talking a win against Clemson a win against Missouri a win by 21 against vanderbelt a win by 24 against A&M 25 against Kentucky those are solid wins and despite the head-to-head matchup where South Carolina lost Alabama I I see South Carolina deserving a spot over Alabama but to your point hakee the two loss uh ACC champ we could see the the Big 12 champ that or the Big 12 team that loses in the conference title game miss the playoff and and lose that spot to a three loss South Carolina team look I’m not on the committee but I do not want to see a three loss team in the playoff you’re anti- three loss I’m I’m an anti-3 loss because I I just look until we expand this to 16 teams we just went to 12 there was never ever a two- loss team in the four team playoff we can’t just be going from from one loss to three loss in the first year of the 12 team playoff and I’m sure maybe a Committee Member will say something to that effect I don’t know I’m not in that room I’m in this room here and and my question now becomes this kind of feels obvious I kind of agree with Kurt cetti because he was asked if the hooers should be in the playoff well following everything that happened today he has an absolute point he said at the time is that a serious question I’m not even going to answer that one the answer is so obvious Brad do you agree is it so obvious right now oh Indiana’s in the playoff and I know today’s game was lopsided but let’s be honest two special teams plays is what determined that game it wasn’t quite the blowout as the final score looks and if Indiana handles business against Purdue next week finishes 11 to1 SEC chaos today hakee has really benefited the hooers I’m with Kurt on this one 11 to1 finish Indiana’s going to be in and probably get a first round home game and Ohio State proved in this game they’re one of the top two teams in the country I think they may have the best roster in college football when you look at pure talent and the barometer for Indiana making the playoff is not whether they can beat the number one or two team in the country it’s whether they’re one of the top 12 teams in Indiana by how they dominated all season long clearly is I think Brad makes a great Point without those special teams airs from Indiana this is a completely different ball game uh they they gave up 14 points off those special teams mistakes I don’t think this score was indicative at the final moment of what the game actually was especially in the first half and you think about Ryan Day at the end of that game scoring the touchdown to make it a three-score game and uh I me I love that move move if Kirk cetti if you’re going to talk that talk you can’t be mad when Ryan Day runs at the score on you but Indiana is in the playoff and and let me tell you they deserve to be in the playoff and it’ll be on the edge of whether they are a home playoff game or on the road leave no doubt four teams from the Big 10 on Pace to make the college theall playoff in Oregon Ohio State Penn State and Indiana in the Big 12 Colorado cfp hopes take a major hit losing to Kansas as they give up 520 total yards offense to Devon Neil and The Jayhawks the Buffs are going to need some help to make the big 12 championship and I’m going to give you the scenario here there’s a four-way tie in the big 12 at 7-2 between Arizona State BYU Colorado and Iowa State if they all went out it would be Arizona State the fighting dilling hams which is incredible against Iowa State uh that we thought they were left for dead for the Big 12 Championship Brad what is the cfp committee going to do with the big 12 come Tuesday I tell you what man no team in the Big 12 wanted to control us on Destiny during November all these losses by BYU backto back weeks Colorado stubbed its toe against the same Kansas team that beat the Cougars last week and now Kenny Dillingham he’s kind of sliding up into that catb bird seat in the Big 12 with Arizona State I think the Big 12 is going to get in the playoff I think if Army would have had a more respectable showing maybe we would have seen two G5 teams get in and the Big 12 champ not get in but we’re going to see a multi loss Big 12 Champion team get in the playoff as the 11 or 12 seed I thought Colorado going into Saturday was the most dangerous team now without a doubt it’s Arizona State yeah I agree with Brad I mean Arizona state with what they’ve done running the football with Cam scaboo combine that with Sam levit their freshman quarterback and how he’s playing Arizona State’s the most dangerous team in the Big 12 right now who would have thought that looking at Arizona State last season what Kenny Dillingham has done in in just a short period of time in Tempe he has rallied the valley there in acquired talent and got that place buzzing great atmosphere today at home I I I think really that Arizona State defense when they can stop the run and get the ball back for their offense and then Arizona State can play that time of possession game where Cam scabo is is chewing up yards and chewing up clock the other part of Arizona State’s offense I love is how they use cam scaboo in different ways around the field they really used him more like a Chris mcaffrey typee all over the field a Debo Samuel type who’s a gadget type player and when he has a big game like he did today against BYU Arizona state is the best team in the Big 12 yeah we saw what the uh committee thinks of the Big 12 because last week they drop BYU eight spots in the rankings perhaps we see Arizona State just Sky up the rankings as you fear the fork the fourth set of cfp rankings released on Tuesday coming up here let’s look ahead Brad who’s in your top 12 give us the preview yeah right now Tennessee was a big winner moves up to number nine in my rankings Old Miss is falling out B has the 12 seed they might be on that 12 line but even if the 12 seed came that that means they’re likely out because three losses is like I said there there’s no room to move up for the Crimson Tide even if they beat Auburn next week so possible first round games Arizona as the Big 12 Champion Arizona State at Oregon first round tough tough game for Oregon now my runner up into Big 10 if Ohio state gets revenge Tennessee at Penn State great 98 game SMU Texas and then Indiana Notre Dame so I do think Indiana has a chance at getting a first round home game but Notre Dame man they wanted the best teams in the country that no one’s talking about right now they they’ve blown out Navy blown out Army have not lost since that upset setback against NIU in September so not d a team right now that I think is very undervalued from a lot of US national guys yeah we’ve been saying though Brad here on this program for the last month no one wants to face Notre Dame right now I don’t want to face him in a first round playoff uh because they’re they’re going to just absolutely dominate you uh did you see anything that stood out there on Brad’s projected bracket I saw the Tennessee pen State Playoff game in Happy Valley I’ll tell you right now you won’t be able to get a hotel room in Happy Valley you won’t be able to get there that place will be absolutely buzzing for a first round playoff game and uh I mean probably the biggest game in Penn State history in in in that one Penn State’s been one of those teams that’s been really on the bubble of that four team playoff for a long time now and they they’ve been one of the biggest beneficiaries I think this season of an expanded playoff that it’s going to be a great match up whoever said that the that the 12 team playoff would make every regular season game game matter less well how about how about this weekend every game mattered more because of this 12 team playoff and we’re going to get some great first round matchups because of it my big takeaway there from Brad’s projected bracket Ohio State number one that means they beat Oregon in the Big 10 in 2014 the first year of the college football playoff when they beat Oregon if Ohio State beats Michigan next week it’ll be the Buckey and ducks in the Big 10 Championship here to talk winners and losers from week 13 Adam will start with you who’s your biggest winner from Saturday my winner from Saturday is Billy Napier in Florida I mean you talk about flipping the narrative in a hurry at Florida Billy Napier beats ol Miss today in this Florida team an Miss team that was getting hot and looking like a playoff contender in the last few weeks for Billy naier he has gotten the vote of confidence from his athletic director he has his five-star quarterback DJ lagway playing like one of the best in the SEC and then he beats LSU he beats Old Miss for back-to-back rank wins at Florida Florida’s win total going into this season was four and a half it looks like now they’re going to get seven with the toughest schedule in the country and trust me now Florida will be the destination for transfers this off season and everyone will be talking about Florida this off season I think Florida’s a contender next season in the SEC yeah my big winner from Saturday is Tennessee without a doubt I mean the two SEC teams just ahead of Tennessee seeing the playoff rankings Alabama and Old Miss both lost against SEC competition and what did Tennessee do beat UTEP 56 to nothing Nico had four touchdown passes vs played pretty well so now Tennessee plays for a spot in the playoff next week in Nashville against Vanderbilt vs will be a heavy favorite in that game Vandy lost to LSU probably going to finish six and six so Josh hypo right now sitting a lot better here in week 13 than he was last week after they had lost to Georgia all right as for Your Biggest Loser Adam who disappointed you the most in week third 13 it seems like pretty pretty uh clearcut across the board here yeah my Biggest Loser is the team that lost to Florida Miss who after beating Georgia was looking like I thought one of the best teams in the country really a a hot team that could make a run at the national title and then to lose against Florida the way they did what we learned from this is that a15 million can can buy you a roster in college football it can’t buy you a championship you still need to put together a team a team that can win week in and win out week out and your quarterback has to play well Jackson Dart did not play well today threw three interceptions in one minute one did end up getting called back but but Old Miss three of 14 on third down 0 0 for three in the red zone that is not a winning formula and because of it Old Miss is now out of the playoff conversation yeah speaking of the SEC man bad Alabama showed up today and now Alabama’s eight and three and tell you what three losses in kayin dore’s first 11 games and tuscalo has not going to sit well with the natives there bad loss today Jaylen milro three interceptions and couldn’t stop the run a season in loss for Bama yeah I I don’t want to hear any booos and tears out of Tuscaloosa because Nick sabin’s first season was a winning season with seven- six they went to the Independence Bowl give kayin deore a little bit of uh of some slack here you know I mean he’ll have another recruiting season uh they they weren’t good away from Tuscaloosa as as you saw them go to Norman and lose they got some things to clean up Jaylen milro is just uncharacteristically bad in this game first time we ever saw him throw three interceptions in a game he was in the conversation for the Heisman Trophy he is no longer in the conversation anymore Colorado two-way star Travis Hunter entered as the heavy favor to win the Heisman and he separated himself further from the field on this day Hunter had eight catches for 125 yards two touchdowns in the loss to Kansas his sixth 100yd receiving game this season tied for the most in a single season in Colorado History meantime Boise State’s Ashton jenty injured his ankle against Wyoming still had 169 yards rushing at a touchdown and becomes the first FBS player with 2,000 rushing yards in a season since 2019 Adam you take a look at these two players but where does the Heisman race uh stand right now because at at this point uh it is now 750 in favor of Travis Hunter yeah I used to be anti-t Travis Hunter for the Heisman I thought it was a Quarterback Award I thought it was a guy that only played offense award I changed my mind completely Travis Hunter is the most dynamic and most impactful player in college football what he’s doing on both sides of the ball had two touchdowns today for Colorado on offense had a pass deflection on defense he’s playing so many snaps averaging 135 snaps a game when I played 60 snaps in a game I got pulled out of the game because it was too many I mean he’s more than double playing that what most players are playing a game it it’s incredibly impressive and you think about it is Once in a generation once in a lifetime what we’re seeing Travis Hunter deserves to win the Heisman Trophy yeah this is Travis Hunter’s award to lose now at at this point of the season have we ever had two finalists and not you know three to four invited to New York because it’s going to be a runaway Travis Hunter will be the guy at the podium here in a couple weeks in New York City and rightfully so as as Adam mentioned just averaging 138 to 140 snaps a game another huge game today with two trips to the end zone so despite Colorado likely not winning the big 12 after losing to Kansas Travis Hunter has shown more than enough on the field this season to Warrant a college football’s best player award yeah I would have like to see him get into the playoff that would have been uh that would have been something that I’d like to see the executives would like to see cuzz that’s must CTV I mean it really is and and they need some help to get to the Big 12 title game not looking great for their odds but Travis Hunter’s odds pretty darn good to win the Heisman Trophy again minus 750 Brad Crawford Adam Brenan here on CBS Sports HQ if Travis Hunter wins the Heisman Trophy he’d become the second Colorado player to win the Heisman
