welcome to tofy TV it is the match preview Everton versus Chelsea the first game of the freaking era Bas you just look so excited by by it what you want to say great that’s are we doing this okay it’s going to there is the first game change everything game what’s it going to change about this game might make the move better might it might make people bit more bued going into it obviously uh tough game they they can actually go top of the league if they win because the game kicks off for Liverpool play of course should they have an incentive day but we haven’t got a bad record in recent times against Chelsea gooderson so yeah hopefully it’ll make the mood a little bit better and I think listen it’ll be over the next few months we start to see changes won’t it but Sunday should be should pick everyone up the mood’s a big thing isn’t it because obviously lot you know a lot of people really worried about obviously December and we pick a point we picked the point up last week we didn’t have to face Liverpool and now we’ve got now we’ve got obviously two two of the next three games that are home and and and all three games by the way are really tough I mean weirdly the city game looks like the easiest in many ways the one you could she picking up points in um but yet the mood is an important thing isn’t it because you go to the game people might be feeling a little bit lighter you know it’s a it’s a time of year where people um feel happy in anyway well some people do of course some people don’t um so so hopefully lightening the L the mood a little bit will improve how people feel generate a bit of an atmosphere and you know the the representatives of the free kins who were at the club whether it’s you know whether it’s I’m freaking or whoever I don’t know but they’ll be at the game so St why I think people will feel a bit more positive and I think that does have an effect on the general atmosphere of Cl P well the uncertainty has been removed hasn’t it and that’s the thing that has has been in everyone’s face for the last few years obviously we’ve had to said it on some of the other stuff we’ve done we’ve had a really when you break it down we’ve had a really bad four years M coming into five it obviously started off with a a global pandemic and went into lots of other things check out to your how the freaking sports everon video um a lot of lot of turbulent times over the last few years and certainly the last 18 months the administrative part of the club the financial part of the club has been called into question while building the ground um and also being in the state of limbo which it feels like we’ve been in for at least a year yeah waiting for um for new owners or whatever so all of that’s been removed now obviously and I think most people if not all evertonians are happy with the freans taken over very wealthy um good business um a human and and own real successful businesses and all of that stuff that goes with that so that puts Evan on a much better foot on every level I think can they can that transform the team which is all really bothered about that time will tell with that one but certainly everybody should be have at least one big worry removed with these taken over because it has been so uncertain but like you said that it doesn’t necessarily have an effect on the game does it as such it can generate a better mood and the better atmosphere and of course they’re positive things but in terms of the game very very tough game Chelsea have obviously it’s I don’t know it it it feels in many ways like it’s come from nowhere in the last few weeks but obviously it hasn’t been think you know it’s been beaten by I think City home in the first game of the season and then they obviously away at Liverpool and but the the the the Run they’ve put on the winning run they’ve put them as has obviously pushed them up the table into second as you said if they were to win the game they’d go top of the league and it’s been extraordinary hasn’t it the change in them because a lot of people thought it was absolute chaos at the beginning of the Season changing the manager which a lot of people didn’t think was the right thing then you know the likes of uh The Saga with Conor Gallagher and trying to get rid of him and the manager very much saying it’s my way and there’s nothing else and if you’re not part of my plans don’t be sticking round because you there ain’t no you know different from like I suppose like 10 AR when he was at man united he trying shift players and he wouldn’t go and then the next minute they’re in the team like what messes i s this guy really did just wa no not happening and it’s been it’s been unbelievable first half of the season for them it has but I suppose when you look at who they bought it shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone the squad’s full of really good players yeah okay the question marks over whether they can win it well of course they can win it because they’ve got really good players you need a goalkeeper in my opinion a better goalkeeper I think if they had a better goal you’d look at it and go tell you what but they’re doing brilliantly he’s been brilliant for them he obviously did a really good job at Leicester City last season and got them promoted and he’s come in and and you’re right he’s he shoulders Metal He’s H he’s had some battles I think even with the owners of the club to get them to to just let him get on with it which he has done he’s been very fair with players like you said he told players you’re not going to get a minute yeah here so you may as well move on and he’s done that quite clearly he’s even you know things like staling going un loan to Arsenal or whatever um going off the door and they got or did he sell sailing but he got stering out the door getting people like Jad and Sano in and integrating him he’s been very fairm with it hasn’t he and we know we’ve benefited from that because he told obviously Armando BR yeah he wasn’t going to be part of your better going and playing um and everon were able to benefit from that so that’s what you have to do Chelsea’s that chaotic on the outside might be the case inside but listening to a couple of managers it seems to have been Tod B’s gone in and bought anything that moved I think you know 1.4 billion whatever but over the past 8 months whatever it is but now you’re starting to see the real strength and depth you know they played Shamrock in the conference League at home and and won 51 this week and with a team with just different play you know young players involved we saw last week they you know they played the practically kids team somewhere and and we’re falling it up after half an hour or whatever it was you know we’re really they’ve had great results in that as they should but it’s all come together for them and he’s been that’s very tough orchestrating it and he’s done a great job and they look like a really good side they’re attacking players Cole Palmer’s fantastic you know they’ve got Nicholas Jackson doing really well MWI there there’s there’s loads of them and the worry for us is hey you don’t know which 11 he’s going to pick and B they’ve got goals from everywhere they’re the top scorers in the Premier League so it’s going to be a tough game well let’s have a look at the 11 that he played against brenford in the 2-1 win there there you have it um obviously karella can’t play yeah because of the uh he got a silly double booking at the end of the game obviously after the final whistle um but you you got to like cedo and and Fernandez in the middle of the park who who have suddenly come good after you know their big their big moves you’ve got Co Palmer just doing basically what he wants in the team Nicholas Jackson now starting to score goals Jaden Sancho as you said on the left hand side um the team has really come together and there’s so many young hungry players in it and obviously Sancho you would say the one in goal is the one inz Sanchez sorry they’re not that good to playing Sancho and go yeah Sanchez sorry is is like an overall he’s not like a weakness isn’t like you think he’s going to like Drop things but he’s just like maybe an overall weakness when you’re looking at him thinking how are he going to where are he going to go but I suppose their big plus point is like we mentioned they played in the conference on Thursday night and it’ll be a completely different team they don’t have to this season worry about their too overlapping and and I don’t think the manages to probably be too worried in the latter stage of that competition of introducing those players to win it that’s just like a boneless competition for them this season they’re just not they’re not really that bothered are they no and they went out the caribo cup as well so they’ve had a week like those main players have about a week off nearly Haven since the beat since to be brenford on Sunday night most of the good top plays of other week off they get like you g through three and you never really me never mention M he brilliant Pedro Netto who he got from wolves who’s brilliant he just on the bench I know MRI had issues at the moment and he’s there’s just so many that you look at and go you know conu I think’s brilliant there there’s just a a plethora as they say of really good players so yeah it’s a case of it’s a real difficult one yeah for Everton but like I said before everon have got everon have got a good record against Chelsea over the last five or six years or so good and you know Sanchez is he the weak link well we’ll see won’t we but set pieces will be obviously massively key for Ev this weekend yeah let’s have a little look at Cole Palmer’s stats for the season so far I mean just from his heat map alone you can just see that he’s allowed to go anywhere he wants and it’s uh you know I mean look at it you know 16 games 11 goals from nxg at 10.32 six assists 12 big chances created you know incredible 17 goal in volen already and we know how good he can be obviously got four against us in April when he beat us 6 nil he’s a top top player and and he he does go everywhere and he’s difficult sometimes to pick up because he roams around Shawn D has already said in his press conference that he wouldn’t man on markam he’s never believed in that and um and EV will have to be switched on and I mean listen I expect Chelsea to have high 60s in terms of percent of the ball because we generally don’t want the ball do we um and we’ll we’ll have I imagine very similar to what we did last week at Arsenal which is have 10 men behind the ball and hopefully get a free kick or a corner and and because that’s how we play and but we’re not going to have to when we play when we played them last year we it was it was pretty similar wasn’t it they had a lot of the ball it was so wasteful in the final third and obviously it was a like different team and they weren’t clicking as much but they were very wasteful that last pass would we’d get you know the four back four and then the two in front of them and then the two wide men dropping in and we picked our moments or or maybe our moments were picked for us but but um you know and we got the three points at a similar Time of the Season just just a little bit earlier and um it’ll be similar won’t it I mean listen as fans we’ve been we know the drill we’ve been conditioned to this you know what we saw last week is we’re going to see something similar again this week we know the limitations of our own team um and we know that against teams like this it is difficult we we don’t score a lot of goals and it’s it’s we’re not going to open ourselves up and we’re going to be playing for those set pieces and you just mentioned there it’s Dwight mcneel’s missing then that becomes a little bit tougher because we know how good the setpiece deliveries are probably one of the best in in the Premier League really for setpiece deliveries um also he’s not if he’s also if he is missing sorry then it creates that conundrum on the right hand s again doesn’t he Harrison all L who nether him have got done anything this season by any means and then that calls into the question well should the manager just leave one of them in and just persist with it or should he wait for Dwight mcneel to come back and then start looking at what he can do with him and then J personally i’ look at playing Dwight off the right and and look at it that way I just think there’s no want to fill that right hand side that’s the problem for me I don’t I just don’t think either of them have took that challenge on and I just think I just think that’s for me that’s the way to get to get Dwight could play cental but again you’re still left with the same con which is who plays on the right hand side for us and nobody’s taken taking that role it makes it really difficult I think oh it is but we don’t we don’t show of double down on anyone anyway no no because Jack Harrison if he wants him to play you know what he’s going to give you he’s going to wear his shocks off play him on the left play him on the left and leaving J on the right he tried and J on the right against wolves when he was in and out but again putting them on the right for an hour and then going actually know you know what I mean it’s not it’s not that’s not all on the manager of course those Lads who’ve had to and played up there it’s their duty to to take it on but if you’re playing Jack Allis you got to at least help him and you help him by putting them on the right sorry on the left hand side where he can cross the ball with his left foot instead of having to check back mcneel still have to come back inside the same way that Harrison does we don’t have a raiding right back so they don’t get that half a yard whereas when out there at least he can go on the outside of the fullback and cross it if that’s what you’re trying to do put balls into the box but I mean Lindon we mustn’t forget is a is a is a number 10 yeah and being sh in on the right side so why for me it’s imperative ever go after a right winger in January um but for this one obviously Dwight mcneel be given every chance I imagine to make it be a late decision because of the set plays that’s why but if he doesn’t play theor will play in that role and it’ll be it’ll probably be and on one side and I imagine Harrison on the other simply because of the defensive side of the game there’s not I mean the thing is there’s not going to be any other changes really bro isn’t available obviously ping club and all that um he’s not injured he just can’t play he can’t play um so there’s not going to be any other changes chimti might go on the bench on the bench so there’s not going to be anything else is there we’re not there’s no there’s not even like a point like talking about it because as we said there the real one is is the right hand side who plays and it’s no young player right back that’s I’m saying not talking about no like going uh getting into too much detail because you know the Midfield picks itself at the moment because we haven’t got to players um the cor obviously has to play in the number 10 role so you’re not looking even looking at that of the team at the moment it’s a it’s worrying because we’re going into obviously a game on Thursday and then you know game on Sunday and you know so it’s it’s wor from that point of view but but at the same time though I don’t feel like these players look like they’ve played loads of football either in many ways think losing the Derby yeah sort of stop that you know stopped it from looking like you played loads of football I I don’t think see you know three in a week but that’s the way it is we’ve gone off three and six days me and we lost the Derby so to the game we didn’t lose the game but then we don’t have another game for for the week do we no after yeah it’s a whole week games which is a mad one St w got yeah well you know what I mean so we’ll see won’t we that’s it’s we can play three games in no that’s what I’m saying that’s what I’m saying and then hopefully obviously after Sunday you’ll have BR you back for City won’t you and you’ve got to a little bit more strength there it didn’t sound like itam or James Garner were going to be available anytime soon so therefore um it will very much just be that Squad W what we’ve got now and the manager do make lots of changes anyway so yeah it’ll be the opposition on the right hand side will be yeah will be the one just going back to Chelsea have you been impressed though by actually the way it all worked itself out like if this was the plan do you think have you been impressed by’s genius that’s what I’m saying Todd could be the biggest genius in football ever m not I’m not sure if he is but but like the way it all set out it’s like everyone thought like there was even like the board were talking of like splitting and all kinds and people who was in with were were talking about taking the money out if you think if you look at it like from a a totally neutral perspective he’s bought a load of good players and all you need to do is get someone to but I was going to I was just about to ask you does this show the power of a manager the power of a good manager who goes in is given the remit of you’re in complete control over this uh we trust you completely we’re not going to get when when he made like the CU you know when when obviously Connor Gallagher was the captain and there was a little bit of talk like oh you can’t do that you there’s always that in football isn’t that thing of like you can’t do that you can’t sell our captain who’s also came through the system there’s almost like that Unwritten Rule and Mesa was like no I am doing this well he sold the PSR as well wasn’t he that he had to sell but but he didn’t want him nobody was the captain wasn’t he but he wasn’t that bothered I think I mean the other thing what we have to remember is that he’s the mesus their fourth manager they’ve only owned the club for two just over two years you know they’ve had tral poter pot Lampard an inter potty you know so don manager number five if you’d include Lampard so you know You’ you’d hoped for their well you know You’ hope for they they get the right one or they make the right decision um did they Rush the POS thing yeah cuz when you listen to him they would they sort of told them things that weren’t really true and and didn’t didn’t go all in on him but he made that decision and then obviously poo from the outside got them into Europe and finished really strongly but he quite clearly wasn’t what they wanted and Mesa wasn’t if you it is the power of a manager he’s been able to take what looked like a chaotic situation you nine goalies or eight goalies there a bit of a Mad one but he’s he’s molded it and he’s done it really well and it shows you that managers are key of ultimately football has play the game and that’s what it’s about they good players and you generally will win games cuz it’s them players and you can argue the toss over managers what they do in games that would affect it cuz the players simply have to do it don’t it’s why people don’t like XG rxg but someone can Vol on him from 40 yards you get beat One n and you go rxg was five but yeah you lost one you know what I mean so all of these factors play A Part the same with a manager you can have a manager my belief Everton could be higher and should probably be higher in the division with the player they’ve got because they could play more attacking in certain games that’s an argument that people can say you’re right or you’re wrong with that in their opinion well Chelsea would a similar thing poino had them sixth yeah hav them won the last five which no one so coming and they got themselves above Newcastle Manchester United at the end and this Fell’s coming and took them to if they beat Everton on Sunday the top of the league with a lot of other chaos going on the backround like you said because he knows what he wants to do he sticks to the he stuck to the Tas so far they backed him and that’s how things can change but it is it he’s done well and they’ve done well out of what did seem like a mad a mad situation but the funny thing about it is though it’s only chaos when you’re looking from the outside and you see something and you don’t know what to plan nothing might have changed to that club other than the managers gone in and gone we’re just doing it this way while he wasn’t there and while he was obviously the manager didn’t have the full backing maybe of the people who own it seemed like chaos now but the manager’s gone in there and also I think by going after them he then could dictate the teams and I think that was the other thing about the other managers maybe it’s like pettino had me you know he wasn’t as high as e Potter was just happy to be have a job um and obviously tussel was early on when they inherited tush and maybe they got things wrong where is I think it really feels like this fell as I mean listen it’s still early days but he just seems like someone who just doesn’t take any any messing about cuz he knows his own way yeah cuz he knows his own weight and therefore could just be like I could leave anytime I want and I wouldn’t struggle to get a job so there are lots of lessons there it’s like that chaos though just seems to has just disappeared um which is very interesting and as we said it’s going to be a tough game going be a very very tough game so 1 11 yes why not let the guitars roll why not yeah let’s see let’s see we’ll do well to keep it keep these I will have done there they are the top scorers if we were to get if we were to get a clean sheet I’d be happy I’d be happy with that and I know that people go you should expect more if we can get a clean sheet out of this game cuz I I’ll be honest if they score I I yeah I think we can score against them but if if if if they score that’s that’s that’s the general worry isn’t it with Everton when the opposition go but that’s what we’re playing on AR me we’re playing on clean sheets that’s what we’re aiming for and teams generally score against when teams generally score against us it gives us a problem but okay let nil because we don’t lose not nil and the opposition’s got nil everything’s good the world it’s what I mean don’t we don’t we’ve only come back once under Sean D stewardship to win a game so in general we don’t score a lot of goals so therefore we giv our we concede we’re giving ourselves an issue aren’t we having to tr score twice but we we beat them twoa last season good so yeah why not do it again he you do it again but Chelsea are a good lesson to everyone buy good players you will improve science also spend 1.4 billion yeah but you know you know that a hotel to yourself yeah now to be fair they have they’re a good they’re a very good shot and the the guess the scary thing for for a few of the big clubs at the top are all the players are young as well they’ve got a great they could grow into be really yeah you
