hello and welcome to this phoh State University National Championship update I’m the voice of the Bulldogs Rob Bley along with Sandy gston as we gear up for game day less than 24 hours away Farah State and valasta State tomorrow afternoon for the national championship here at the McKenna ISD Stadium the Bulldogs their final walkr going on behind us as they gear up and put in the final preparations for this National Title contest well you know that’s a great way of putting it the Bulldogs are they’re putting in the work that it needs to happen if you’re going to play in a national championship game and we’ve seen this trip it’s been a business-like trip for the bulldog and a lot of them that have been here before they’ve done it before they know what it takes to be able to compete at a high level they know what it takes to be successful on a trip like this and they’re imparting some of that wisdom on the younger guys that maybe have not been here before or have not been here as many times and so that makes this really exciting to see the work that’s being done right here behind us as we get ready for the game of course Farah State uh here today we see uh many members of the Bulldog Nation starting to make their trip here to mckenny Texas some activity at the team hotel and certainly some uh alums former players and fans on hand here for this through today well that’s exciting to look around the stadium right now and just see a lot of Bulldogs uh down here on the field up in the bleachers and just kind of getting a little bit of a feel for the place some who have been here before some who haven’t been here before and it’s exciting I mean the hotel is starting to jump a lot of more people are making it down some people are coming down today Friday some people will be coming in Saturday morning and we’re just excited to have as many bulldogs as possible for this game of course beautiful weather conditions here in Texas for practice today we expect the same tomorrow afternoon the game on ESPN 2 and a lot of attention will be on this match up between fah State and valdasta State the third National Championship medium between these two programs yeah it’s just crazy since 2018 and the first time we got here in 2018 we played them we played them again in 2021 split those two games Bulldogs won in 2021 and and here’s uh the third time and so that shows you really just how good these two programs have been perennially in division 2 college football and so uh it’s uh a great stage right here in mcken Texas and to have these two programs that have been I think in the last 5 to 10 years among the premier programs if not the two premier programs certainly Northwest Missouri State in the last 10 years has been a part of that discussion as well but this is a Mary match up for this game of course phoh State uh tonight FanFest for many of the fans that’ll be here in the mcken area but for the Bulldogs they’re going to be focused on the the final prep work uh here for this matchup tomorrow team meetings and I know some more film sessions here as they gear up for a chance to play for a national title well I mean there have been some fun opportunities of course during the trip for the team and and they’ve taken advantage of some of those opportunities as well but I think when you get into Friday the day before the night before the game you really want to lock in on your preparation you want to lock in on your focus and you want to make sure you have that business-like approach that it’s going to take to be able to win against an undefeated valdasta State team in the national championship game and so I’m sure the guys will really be locked in tonight looking to finish that last minute preparation the day before the night before and to to get a good night of sleep and just be ready to go Saturday morning of course we’ll have all the coverage for you starting with pregame show at 1:00 p.m. Eastern e time on Sunday 97.3 know we’ve been blessed in one hand and and another hand these guys have worked hard you know the coaches and the student athletes most of all have worked hard to get themselves in this position and and we’re along for the ride to be able to share that story with the public and so it’s an honor for us but it’s exciting for them and this is U the uh fruits of all the hard work that they’ve put in
