[Music] Old Nation welcome into a very special episode here of the Renegade rundown we are usually appointment television every Tuesday and Friday Mondays with the Renegade roast we usually don’t go live when things actually happen you know somebody commits you go live immediately we don’t usually do this um but this is an absolute Banger of a day guys I’m here to tell you we’re up we’re back okay Florida state has some motion on the recruiting Trail all the way up to number 23 I believe guys that is considering that some people could flip but the latest breaking news Kevin win Elite defensive tackle that we were worried about losing just locked in just signed his paperwork how does that happen well a guy named Terence knon that comes in with Tony white we call him pot roast um for a couple weeks now we’ve from reporting that’s pretty much all but done without you know it getting signed I was a little worried the longer it went on without him signing and leaving you know somebody somewhere else could offer him a Brink struck full of money to go be D tackle coach at ofio state or Oregon or whatever if something opened up that didn’t happen he didn’t get offered the DC job or he turned down whatever title Nebraska offered him he’s locked in he posted uh Jay-Z’s December 4th song for his song of the day he’s I don’t think he has his title up on Twitter yet but pot roast is in now we’re just waiting on Jeff hand the other two big ones Usman croman chroma Elite one of the best running backs in all of Georgia fourstar running back we recruited him hard it looked like it was a lost cause you know just a month or two ago but lo and behold we get some new coordinators in here get some motion and Usman chroma flips from the playoff bound Georgia Bulldogs and he is a Florida State Sor he is signed another guy Jayvon boss another four-star wide receiver committed to UCF a guy that we were after for a long time of course the season the way it went lamed up coaching staff fell off the radar but boom he flips and all this happened guys within a matter of like 30 40 minutes bogs wind sticks you flick Kera I can’t tell you how happy I am um we talked about it a lot on the show it’ be a miracle to get inside the top 20 that remains to be seen as I said because Solomon Thomas who is a fstar um interior offensive lineman is still kind of crystal ball to go to LSU we don’t have a offensive line coach in hand yet um but I don’t want to keep you guys waiting if you’re work and you’re just jumping in here so I’ll kind of run over the whole class and where we’re at so far at least when I started the stream because who knows maybe somebody committed in the last 20 seconds a defensive back another flip Shamar Arno one of these guys in the summer between him and Conan bny and larian Clarity we’re telling you guys I don’t know which one we’re going to get but one of these three guys is going to end up signing at FSU we ended up thinking it was Arno and again once the season got here uh you know we all know what happened we were like 50 when the day started and recruiting probably was lower than that at a point in time but he flips back Shamar Orno fourstar DB uh by the composite big time pick up uh we’ve already told you guys about Tariq mallerie but he did sign the 65 wide receiver um flip from West Virginia also Sean pet that’s somebody we hadn’t talked a lot about on here three star offensive tackle flip from USF of course everybody knows we had previously uh flipped Blue Chip quarterback Kevin sper he signed uh I believe Z Thomas has signed but I could be mistaken on that but I’m pretty sure 99% sure Z Thomas is going to end up signing our pit our commits that that held with us in sign so far um he’s a offensive tackle on Rivals he’s interior o line on 247 uh Mario Nash top 10 tackle on one service he’s like the number 12 interior o line on another service I believe Florida state with Alex Atkins recruiting him as an interior offensive lineman so you’ve got mixed positions um he’s played tackle a lot in high school like I believe the guy’s named Jared Davis I always forget his name or was it Jared Smith like like he really manned him up in a couple camps or maybe it was in a game uh but yeah he’s he’s a damn good recruit um he sticks with the Noles as expected safety Max Redmond I believe he’s actually a three star he may be a four-star on one of the services he sticks uh of course the defensive tackle from Joo believe he’s like the number 11 player or something like that in the Jo in the nation Thailand Cleveland signed his letter of uh commitment Ethan Pritchard the linebacker uh you know he’s been with us since he’s committed he’s been just down he’s been n- blooded uh he hasn’t even you know wavered at all it’s like no this dude is a simol he wants to be here uh he’s all about that life so glad to see Ethan Pritchard sign his name and then the kicker Bruno Roose I can’t even remember if he was a flip or not um I just haven’t paid a ton of attention to it but hats off to him we get another kicker in here try to keep that tradition going of course we took the number one kicker last year in Ryan Fitzgerald and I gotta Mark some of these names off when I I did my notes here to I make sure I didn’t miss anything Chase Lofton has said he is locked in so we’re just waiting on his signature but we’re expecting Chase Lofton to sign Solomon Thomas as I mentioned earlier we’re still waiting on him that one would be a bit of a surprise he’s a crystal ball to OSU we also have Daryl and Desir or Daryl and mandrel Desir excuse me the twin defensive ends defensive lineman they’re no- blooded uh I think they were kind kind of just waiting on the opportunity to go ahead uh when things kind of fell apart and FSU started putting their staff together they went after them hard and they committed so we’re just waiting on their their signature at any time there’s a couple other guys like Chason Brown the 6 foot7 freak offensive tackle from UCF that decommitted most people think uh from what I’ve heard he’s he might push it later I don’t know if it’s all the way to the early Signing Day um or or what but not necessarily expecting him to sign tonight and also the Jesse Harold The Edge I want to say LSU but I may be wrong about that uh decommitted um don’t hold me to this but the Jesse Harold is another guy we’re after between us and another school not so sure on it if we get him uh but yeah another one tracon gelyy he a a three star wide receiver that was committed to Florida 6’4 210 lbs they were recruiting him at T end he’s a wide receiver in high school I think he wants to play wide receiver uh so that’s the reason Florida’s thinking he’s going to flip possibly to us I just I don’t know what the staff is telling him I don’t know if the staff is recruiting as a wide receiver or or not or if he’s willing to come you know put into the work or they got room for him but he fits the mold of what Gus maon goes you know is going for I didn’t write down the guy’s name I totally whiffed on it but there’s also a six S I think it’s his name is Jordan Scott maybe again don’t don’t hold me to it there’s so many names going through my head right now but a 6’7 Jo wide receiver one of the top players out of Jo as well in the class last I looked unless somebody else has committed Florida State seminal had broke in to the top 25 at number 23 after starting the day at like 58 or something so guys I’m on Cloud9 I am literally on cloud n uh I don’t know how you guys are feeling out there it’s only two o’clock we still got a ways to go but getting pot roast locked in everybody is like kind of just I’ve been tenative I didn’t want to just get on here and start bragging like oh yeah this is a A+ hire they knock this [ __ ] out of the park uh but at this point I think it’s pretty clear um this is just the high school class I think a lot of you out there are like myself I had written this thing off I’m like oh man you know it we’ll be lucky maybe if we get one good guy maybe we can get chroma you know maybe we can get wi to stay I’m looking at wi as as a flip uh you know it’s not a flip he was committed but him and Solomon Thomas I’ve been looking at those as flips now we did get good word you know we Kevin win last couple weeks okay okay he might stay but it was almost a foregone conclusion for a while that he was probably gone to Georgia or South Carolina so to get him to stick oh man for p to come in and do that we’ll see what else he can do but that’s just the beginning uh if you’ve been paying attention to the show if you’ve been on Twitter if you’ve been on Facebook book Nebraska had they didn’t give up a rushing touchdown all year okay at home number six or number eight rushing defense I think in the nation number 18 overall defense and that is all predicated upon that 335 defense that is just all about stopping the run and I’m here to tell you almost their entire starting front seven the younger guys uh with upside they’ve all hit the portal they’re all gone uh one of the main guys number 90 he’s a sophomore I believe really upand cominging player white dude number 90 6 foot6 you know freak he’s got all the stuff there he’s like what you want that corn Fred dude from up in the midwest that Florida State’s been asking to get a little bit of that in there a little bit in the mix so he’s coming there’s no way uh it’s a beautiful video If you haven’t seen it I should have downloaded it and uploaded for I could play it for you guys but he’s on there talking about pop roast and he says you know when he talks about I don’t know what the issue was but he had some issues with his family uh rough rough times pot roast was there for him he was like man what what what could I ever have done without him he was like a father father figure to me uh he said he was messing up you know missing meetings being late for practice things of that nature and it could have been really easy for pot roast to let him go for the d-coordinator to let him go but he was his advocate he was the one advocating for him to get his stuff together helping him at the end of the video it really caught me off guard because he said father figure all that stuff but he legitimately said he stopped himself he said father figured no he is my father he said pot Rose is literally my father so if you don’t think that guy’s coming to Florida State when he’s already hit the portal uh I don’t know what to tell you and a narrative we have pushed on this program for a long time is that when Jesus was on Earth he went to everybody the prostitutes the gamblers the murderers and he tried to bring them the gospel show them the truth of Jesus Christ so you know whether that’s the religion you believe in or not it’s a metaphor for what’s been going on in Florida State’s recruiting for the past four or five years we have like just really been after guys that are put together not going to get any trouble there was APR trouble and stuff when Mike Norville first got here a little bit lingering that La back from Willie tager um we got everybody going to class uh record-breaking GPA scholar all athletes every week and that’s great and I’m all for that that’s perfect we had an amazing culture that built up until 23 when it just disappeared to a certain extent you know to the Jesus metaphor I need a coach that is willing to bring some guys in here that have family problems that you know maybe had a juvenile charge that got scrubed you know things like that you look at Georgia like they that’s a rough culture I don’t want to go that far I don’t want 80 DUIs and reckless driving and all that in a twoyear Fame but when Bobby Bowen was in here he brought Randy Moss in despite you know rumors he failed his drug test and he got him gone that’s fine if he made the mistakes but he gave the guys chances um and you worked with Jimbo Fisher um you know even to that same degree so I think Florida State needs to get back to that it’s about signing the elite guys especially in this day and age at the top of the class so I was resigned I know a lot of you were resigned this class was just going to be filled out with three stars Nas fourstar composits that are projects well there’s some of that in there I read off all the names but I mean Kevin wi Oman croman Javin bogs back to back to back I don’t know what to tell you guys I mean you’re flipping guys from Georgia in the playoff I don’t know if it’s Miami getting snubbed uh giving us a little good Juju if it’s just the coaching staff but I got to tell you I don’t know if it’s possible it’s probably not people are still going to get commits but Miami keeps having flips people keep flipping that they thought they were going to have they keep not getting guys they thought they were going to get I think they’re currently at 13 or 14 if Florida State could somehow catch and pass Miami I’ll go live again tonight if we pass Miami because guys this is something else it’s a great time to be at Florida State seminal and I’m sorry guys I haven’t even been looking at the chat I’m so damn fired up uh I’m going to put the link uh in the chat so we’re going to do some Callins if you guys want to call and talk about how uh y’all are feeling about everything um sometimes YouTube will you you can get those guys and lead them to a better life totally disagree Wilmer totally disagree who’s the thug that we brought in here that they they led to a better life noer I listen to all these guys when they committed talk um you know that’s not true they weren’t they weren’t going after those guys they just weren’t maybe I’m wrong if I’m wrong I’m wrong but I didn’t see it they would Mike Norville Derek Ray the whole staff and it’s like I was on board for it for a while like when it was working it’s working but anytime one of these guys would go for a higher nil or you know do this do that the the kind of stuff where they oh they’re turned on by Texas having all the Lambos and stuff out there that was not Florida State’s recruiting strategy like they would just say okay have it you know just go we’re done we’re not going to play these stupid games but in this day and age it’s just that’s the game uh you know it’s there’s always going to be a give or take the more talent you have the more somebody’s going to put up with the more risk and and you know the recruiting strategy here was people would come in and they didn’t kiss their ass they didn’t sugarcoat anything it was a a hard ass message of you come here and uh we’re going to get your hand placement right cuz look at here your hand placement is [ __ ] up and you don’t know how to step coming out of your break and you don’t know how to do this and that was the message and it worked and it works extremely well for portal guys and we saw that um but with these elite elite High School guys you got to kiss their ass a little bit you know Sabin could have that message after he built the program and all that but where we’re at and where these kids are today have you talked to a 17y old kid today okay they’re not like where we were when we were kids um and you know it is what it is not trying to get Negative guys I am fired up I absolutely love the staff I think that that they realize I think Mike Norville realizes it was time to change things up a little bit and I think that’s what’s going to happen my guy Jeff Hill comes in with a $10 Super Chat I wasn’t feeling good at first about the class and now I’m pretty good about it can you get in the top 20 after everything that’s happened yeah I it was a good shot guys um we’re gonna have to see I haven’t done the math I don’t know what would happen if Sol how far we would fall if Solomon Thomas drops out um but you never know there’s there’s still a long time to go today um more possible flips uh of course Daryl and uh and mandir they’re gonna they’re G to commit as I said earlier Chase Lofton is still gonna commit I’m looking at it and and yeah we thought there was going to be an absolute pile of flips we thought we’re going to lose this lose that it’s looking like Solomon Thomas may be the only flip I mean that’s have him be the only flip left and then on top of that to be able to add chroma add bogs like holy crap y’all we we however you feel about Gus maon however you feel about Tony white it remains to be seen but we all believe it’s just waiting on a signature for herb hand um pot roast and Tony white and Gus M on it’s going to be a totally different monster recruiting um Atkins is what is he was the best recruiter on the staff but that was the issue when Alex Atkins is your best recruiter on your offensive staff that’s a that’s a real problem maybe one day he’ll be an amazing recruiter but unlike these other guys he came straight from Charlotte he was learning on the job u i was a big fan I still am I think maybe in 10 years he’ll be you know the hottest coach in football again but he’s got to go learn to do the recruiting and whatever the hell happened with his evaluations Gus maon has a level of a repertoire just of being in Auburn being at UCF doing all these different things recruiting the State of Florida at an elite level that when you go in these living rooms you know you get on these phone calls when recruits come to campus just a little bit different regardless of you know what you think of them um herb hand I heard he’s kind of a a stickler he’s kind of cocky you know kind of like that tough love like that I talked about like that was pretty much Mike norvell’s go-to recruiting strategy um I’m kind of contradicting myself but I’m fine with that from a all line coach I heard to the Great Vine that you know a recruiter two that you know is at Florida State offensive lineman had visited him at us us UCF and they couldn’t stand they thought he was an [ __ ] so I’m all for that Rick tricket wasn’t the most popular with guys um until their senior year and they graduated and they understood the lessons but they called him the Marine for a reason so I’m all for it get me in a Marine in here I mentioned right off the top that U Shamar Arno had flipped back to Florida State huge get and who did he Credit in that who did Arno credit and getting flipped back Pat Cain so I’m not here to tell you he signed some de New Deal or it’s guaranteed that he won’t go anywhere else but Southern Miss uh we reported a few weeks back they moved on uh you know even though he had reported the interview for that job I don’t think in a million years um a kid that had kind of given up and thought everything was the crumble decides to come back and gives the credit to Pat serain would do that unless Pat serain had told him I’m here so all the study Tony white pot roast Pat serain we’re gonna see what they do uh they have an announced firing Randy Shannon or anything like that or John puches we’re gonna see what happens I don’t think there’s room for Odell we’ll find out just because of this defense you know the dline coach probably to coach up those three down linemen and then you’re going to have I think they have three linebacker coaches at Nebraska I think we’ll probably end up having maybe two I’m talking out of my house ass here I’m not sure but if puchas stays as the Special Teams coordinator and can coach outside linebackers if that’s something he could do you know I’d be fine with it uh but yeah those other two spots whether it’s a linebacker coach and another you know dline or whatever how they decide to do that we have an opportunity to have the best staff in the state like I think by a mile if they knock these rest of these hires out like they really it’s blown me away there’s some rumors out there about wide receiver coaches I’ve heard two or three of them but it’s not even worth mentioning we’ll see what happens I just not too big into the it’s got to somewhere last year I was really hard on trying to build all these relationships be an Insider find out the ins and outs talk to the kids talk to the people that I know on staff talk to you know have JY reach out to all the people she knows but I got to tell you with these kids nowadays nobody knows nobody knows Steve Wilfong is like 50% today you know Dallas Wilson was going to Florida he stuck to Oregon uh Tavon Wallace was going to you know either Florida State or somewhere else uh no he’s stuck he you know so it is what it is I kind of report on it I still do all that stuff but I take all that information with the grain of saying somebody tells me salty if somebody tells me you know pot roast is locked in and they did I take it with a grain of salt and I just look at the outside factors cuz some somebody could come in and offer pot roast a million dollars yesterday even though he was promised to come here 1.5 million to go be a DC here or a dline coach there and that changes things I’ve said it a bunch you saw Manny Diaz go to Duke I believe it was or Temple excuse me went to Temple and then Miami offered him the job so he came right back [ __ ] like that happens but to get it in ink to get it kind of official and come on here and do this ton of fun and this is different for me again like I said we usually don’t do this we usually just do the Renegade rundown every Tuesday and Friday that will be on Sundays as well now that we’re in the postseason it just didn’t make sense I had to stop doing the Sunday shows because we got Friday then Saturday the postgame show to do a Sunday show and then Monday the Renegade roast with tiny hat CEO and Jen Santi and then come right back Tuesday do Wednesday with voice of college football um I didn’t want to just completely oversaturate and uh kind of burn myself out and that’s also just you all know it’s been hell it’s been hell the past two or three months it’s been really tough to get excited about anything FSU but all that [ __ ] stops right here and now and I think a lot of people had resigned themselves to 30 40 somewhere in this class like I said earlier get you a couple Blue Chips we all know it’s going to be about the portal we all know that like it’s going to be all about the portal uh this year to get things going for next year uh but what they’ve done in this tiny tiny amount of time to get this thing done the fact that they got Tony white and Gus milon done as quick as they did like we were talking on here here for literally two months we’re like dude we have got to get these guys as soon as possible when they fired them after the Notre game game we’re fired up and just praying like give us rumors on the weekend and have our coordinators in place by Monday at the latest and that’s what happened uh you know we got the Gus mes on rumor on Saturday Tony white the next day and now they’re both locked in Twitter bio’s locked in pot roast is working on it again like I said he posted that Jay-Z song December 4th uh talking about you know people love you until they don’t or whatever and he’s now he’s leaving so that’s what it is he’s coming down he told his players at Nebraska what the deal is the ones that are left uh yeah ton of fun guys I hope you guys are as hyped as I am because it’s like you don’t want to get your hopes up uh for things in life uh just kind of kind of take it take the punches as they come something that you the older you get that’s the more you’re that way myself specifically so I was down in the mouth guys I know you could tell on the show I love this team I love Florida State I’m all about it um it’s my dream to cover the team to get my credential all that stuff do all the things but it started as a fan it’s not just a purely journalistic thing for me like I care about the program so it physically hurt me to get on here with all my co-hosts and have to talk [ __ ] about Florida State for two or three months tough it’s really really tough um I’d hear my co-host doing it and I’m getting getting mad at them I want to cut them off and I’m like well you’re right so to be here right now man it’s damn sure good pretty n girl says we just got Kevin win yeah I I had a hell of a rant at the beginning of the show covering that huge G like pretty nor girl how does it feel to you it feels to me like a flip you know Kevin wi to get him to to stick after all the rumors and how everything went down thinking he might go to South Carolina and Georgia and all those serious rumors to get pot roast and get him locked in that might as well be a flip to me if you’re just joining us us croman borderline fivestar running back one of the best in Georgia good good friends with Cam Davis he posted a picture of them where they were younger man guys we’re set at running back uh to bring him in bam I don’t know if they bring in the portal guy we’ll see what happens but uh yeah the future is bright at that position Jayvon bogs you know just another Elite receiver that we were on and on and and kind of disappeared kind of disappeared uh but he’s in there um now if somebody’s committed here in the last 15 minutes I would have missed that one but uh but yeah again if you have any questions super chats always get up on the screen but I also put good questions up if I can catch them before they um pass by damn R Wilmer is one on who that guy is um what position does he play help me out I can’t remember Wilmer says the Gus bus just started rolling uh yeah absolutely I thought James Williams was the the Nebraska defensive end that I was talking about earlier so again it’s a whole lot of names coming through at once uh so yeah if I miss something I apologize but I think we got the the big ones down there um but man watching these Miami Hurricane fans squirm and be in the exact same position we were in last year I mean not even like way worse they lost two games they didn’t even make the conference Championship that was great for them to get left out of the playoffs and not only left out of the playoff guys they got left out of the playoffs for the same team we got booted for Alabama by God they were going to put him in there regardless for that to happen to them after all the trolling the fact that nobody from the ACC none of the other teams none of the other ads the coaches none of the TV shows nobody was on our side nobody nobody they just oh because they didn’t care it’s just Florida State and Florida State is one of these teams like you’re either a Florida State fan or people hate us it’s just how it is that’s what happens when you dominate 15 years of college football from 1987 to 2000 Florida state was in the freaking National Championship every other year you know between Miami Florida State and Florida whoever won that those games they’re going to the National Title we won three um it just is what it is uh but to see how that went down and just the not even supporting us but just the nastiness of shut up quit complaining we were undefeated undefeated in one games by 10 15 points and they said oh we didn’t win good enough for Miami to lose by two points okay last year what happened to us Bama barely like by a miracle beat a terrible Auburn team like a three or four win Auburn team they took a miracle the same week we covered against Florida and somehow the committee says oh that’s a big negative they’re offense ain’t good enough oh they couldn’t do this and that against Florida and yet put Alabama over us you know uh it was just something unreal so to see the Jos of them going and losing to Syracuse by two points a nine and three football team which by every right should be ranked and isn’t or they may be in the latest for Alabama to get blown out they didn’t have a miracle in one they got blown out okay blown out by a team that’s 500 had one win in the SEC they’re like 15th in the SEC something like that after losing to Vanderbilt he was like 12th in the SEC at the beginning of the year for them to get in over Miami and the best part of it guys the best part I don’t know if you watched emanel or whatever the hell that dude’s name goofy looking Joker that’s running this year he said oh well the major sticking point for us on Miami getting left out over Bama is Bama’s three and one against ranked teams and uh Miami’s 0 and one and we all know how these rankings are you know Miami’s losses were to 26 and 28 you know and it’s crazy they go over the wins even though Miami had the quality wins Ohama had the the shitty losses it didn’t matter but the the second stat the one that they really went with Bama was six and one against teams over 500 okay Miami 4-2 against teams over 500 really hilarious so basically Miami lost to two sorry ass teams Excuse Me Bama lost to two sorry ass teams right so that makes their record against above 500 look great it’s six and one what’s the record 500 against teams that are 500 below Miami meanwhile loses to two winning teams so that looks terrible on them even though they have zero bad losses they didn’t lose to a losing team it’s [ __ ] hilarious because Georgia Tech we just saw what they did with Georgia um you know bran Charles came from Georgia he’s got Syracuse bumping I can’t wait to see who they play in that bowl game because they’re probably gonna you know dot dot dot dot dot dot [ __ ] them up all all that [ __ ] so it’s t it’s fun pretty old girl calls it the Bama Invitational there’s still a chance somehow that Clemson could beat SMU and that could somehow put them both in there but if I think that happens they’re still gonna leave B in it’s like these [ __ ] are going to do whatever it takes to put B in they bagle this bagle that I’m kind of stealing this from David hail um a David hail joint on Twitter he made a post and it was extremely sent I thought it was perfect so here’s what the college football playoff does they’ve got four criteria we’ll say we’ll just stick with a four there’s really like a hundred the criteria the different ones be it strength of schedule strength of record 500 teams ranked wins we’ll call them A B C D okay so they use a to say Miami doesn’t get in but then they use B to say Bama gets in never mind that Miami is better at a than Bama it doesn’t matter because that’s they just use whatever suits their purposes and then they’ll turn around and use C uh you know to put the other team in and then put D for the reason this team didn’t get in so it’s really hilarious they just put whoever the hell they want according to the money whoever tells them you know ESPN comes down the line says this is who we want in or it’s just obvious you know um so yeah it’s it’s hilarious but for us to be two and 10 um and not be even part of the conversation when if we could just had a you know a decent year to think in 2022 we could have been in the playoff Runnings for being 10 and two with that season it’s really crazy where college football is gone so I don’t feel too too sorry for anybody but yeah the pain for them is hilarious and I won’t stick on this too long we can get back to questions and recruiting and all like if you look at what they did to us last year the whole reason they left us out we’re unef their only thing was oh well you were on fire at the beginning of the year but LSU don’t count that was a totally different team y’all are this y’all are that well okay Bama just got blown out by a shitty team and only scored three points three points okay Miami lost two games down the stretch two out of three games literally okay so tell me how the hell of South Carolina is below all of them because what happened in SE setember doesn’t matter you’re a different team at the end of the year that’s what they told us Lenor stellers he’s the best he might be the best quarterback in college football right now he’s on fire they’re only six game winning streak they just took down the team that you have you know number 17 team going into the ACC Championship I don’t it makes no sense and they’re 14 who wants to see would you rather face Lenor sers or Jaylen mil I don’t think anybody on this planet is saying they’d rather face him you know so we’ll see what happens I’m really curious to see how this whole playoff works out you know the fact that Notre Dame can have a schedule even easier than ACC schedules with these service acmy and G5 schools and lose to NIU it’s like [ __ ] me I one loss to a Notre Dame who doesn’t have a play in the conference Championship to me is nuts like it’s I’d take a two loss team in a conference over them and then you look at the fact they’re talking about SMU could get bumped out if they lose well how they’re 111 they should just quit and not play it so we’ll see what happens if that happens but yeah um I think kind of the controversy and just everything that’s happening around the country the kind of the way things are in flux the huge amount of transfers hitting the portal and kind of the success I think something that here’s what the 12 team playoff did in previous years and it’s the reason that even us and just kind of the the Sabin ites that philosophy guys like Bud Elliot who’ve hammered it and have been absolutely right uh about how important recruiting is I think this year seeing all these teams and with the ability of the 12 team playoffs to have parody and have a chance like it’s it’s just going to be different from moving on I thought that the portal could possibly Plateau this year um and be a little bit less kind of calm down but no teams have figured out that you can go in one portal Hall completely change your portions and come out and compete Arizona State Colorado SMU all these they they have 60 portal kids on their teams and they’re out here competing they could be the best it’s always been if you have a Heisman quarterback it doesn’t really matter what your team is look at Miami the only reason they had a chance to go undefeated possibly end up winning 10 games is because they got cam War Miami is the same [ __ ] team they were last year or worse I think they’re worse I think they’re worse I think Miami’s football team is worse if they didn’t have the quarterback if they had the same quarterback last as they had last year they’d have been a worse team but since they had cam Ward you got a shot Lenor sers coming down the stretch if he would have got in you get hot at the right time you can get in um I think recruiting obviously it’s huge but as far as high school recruiting in general it has such a massive effect on the preseason rankings I think that that might be the biggest part of high school recruiting is just the fact that if you’re you know the top 10 in high school recruiting that’s the top 10 in the AP poll every year and and that’s you know itself replicated you know because we’ve seen the last couple years that recruiting does not necessarily equal um if you want to have a steady program that’s going to be good every single year if you don’t want to to have a fall off like Florida state had yes it’s extremely important to be consistent in recruiting and I think we finally got the staff to do that but any single team out there can change their fortunes yearby year in the portal treating like an NFL team you know where you get however many high school recruits like the draft um and you go get guys that can play I think we’re Florida State messed up the biggest part obviously was evaluating the guys we had on our our team but going and getting Elite recruits that are freshman or sophomores from B from Georgia from all the place all over the place you know thinking they were going to build something for the future and these guys were going to be able to do this no I think the most important thing what we need to do out of the portal is get proven players second third your players that are ready to come in and contribute you’ve seen them do it at the level so you don’t know if they’re going to come in here and turn into Warren Sapp or Timmy jigan or something like that but you know you have a base level of play and get pot Ro and Tony white in here we’ll see how many of them he takes because they’re offering and taking jod D lineman and things of that nature as I mentioned earlier but I mean the whole front Seven’s hit the portal like we could literally turn this thing around and get our defense really pumping just off of taking what we take from Nebraska especially if we can keep farmer we can keep Jackson a lot of these DBS that we have you know obviously add Arno gonna have to take some linebackers I think that’ll probably be we’ll probably take more linebackers than anything out of the portal because again Tony white brings that 335 defense and that means three down linemen three linebackers and five um DBS okay you got your two safeties you got your two cornerbacks and I mentioned Max Redmond a guy who’s been committed for a long time ended up sticking with us he’ll be somebody somebody like him will play that Rover position uh it’s called different you know and different some people call it money some people call it Jack yada yada it’s he calls it a Rover in in that defense so it’ll be a lot of fun to see Jeff Hill with another $10 Super Chat says if hand it’s hand for me I can’t I can’t read it it’s hard for me to feel bad Miami for Miami when Miami fans have been terrible towards us when we didn’t make it it’s amazing Alabama has three losses and can still get in yeah no I get it I don’t know why it stated that they said that’s what they were going to do they sign these contracts I believe I’m not sure if it’s 25 or 26 that it comes into effect the Big 10 gets 30% of the playoff Revenue okay the SEC gets 30% and then almost half of that is what the ACC gets 177% and then the remaining you know whatever 10 11 12% goes to G5 Notre Dame etc etc they told you what you’re going to do obviously when they left us out last year it wasn’t yet to SEC and Big 10 teams but it was already a done deal years behind it was already planned they already knew and these are the brands they put in what did we get last year Washington Michigan Texas bank 2 SEC two big 10 and so that’s what you get like I said earlier they’re just going to use whatever criteria they can to jump them in there and you know Miami left them off the hook they were going to only get three but poor Miami poor old last minute old crystal ball coming through in the clutch that [ __ ] cannot coach in the fourth quarter you took coordinator coordinator at the time um my comment on this earlier is I think these are guys that you know kind of wanted to be at Florida State and and the class we had earlier with Hilson and Myon Charles and Kevin will wi at one point in time guys we had 16 commits and 15 of them were like high Lev Blue Chips it was a legitimate we were going to have a crazy class built up off of all that momentum um it was just off the momentum it wasn’t recruiters that’s what we found out because soon as things started going bad it all fell apart I think whether it was Randy Shannon or whoever was I think the biggest part of those guys uh the Desir twins was just you know Florida State want to to come in here and be part of the solution uh so I don’t know I don’t know if it’s contingent on that if I was those two kids I wouldn’t be worried about it because uh you know pot roast I’m not worried about like pot roast is gonna bring the guys in he’s a really hot name nam in Vogue he played in the NFL seven or eight years the majority of that time with Jacksonville and then he got to go actually win some games with Denver had a major play in the Super Bowl uh against uh Tom Brady like his players love him you know the fan base is fired up regardless of how anybody felt about maon or Tony white I don’t think there’s a single person out there that isn’t fired up about this pot Rose tire and it all starts up front guys that’s where we went a stay our offensive line was terrible Jordan Travis covered a lot of things up whatever happened with the evaluation the injuries the lack of development the Pradas that we’ve brought in here the Julian armas who you know were hard workers but just whatever for whatever reason couldn’t get on the field it killed us um but I truly believe that’s over and it shows I mean Mike said he was going to get this thing changed fast or immediately and that’s what he did I mean I don’t know if Gus maon has ever had a bad offensive line Auburn UCF people have to tell me if there’s one off a year but that is his Focus that is what he has always been focused on is a mashing giant offensive line a running back and a quarterback that can move around that’s what he does um and the same thing with her hand he’s going to have a good offensive line every year so like you bring somebody in we’ll see what happens with the quarterback and the rest of it you know all that stuff has to come together but you’re going to be able to push people around again on the offensive line same thing on the defensive line I couldn’t be more ecstatic um and this 335 defense it’s a bit contrarian to the rest of the country but I really really really really think it’s going to work I really do um one of the biggest complaints is the fact that in Adam Fuller’s defense in that 4-25 90% of the time on third Downs you rush forward and the quarterback knows exactly what’s coming I mean as soon as you line up they know exactly what’s coming um and if we brought a blitz it’ be from a safety from 800 miles away and on the flip side anytime we played somebody else they’d have us all confused they change their lineups this and that have a guy coming free off the edge for whatever reason that was not a big thing in Fuller’s defense we saw it more when Randy Shannon come out came in and you saw that against Florida I thought that that attack was a lot better than what we’ve seen the majority of the year but out of this 335 you’ve got three down lineman you got your right end your left end and your nose tackle these are all one-on-one blocks the center and the tackles and then you’ve got your linebackers three of them behind them that they just never know who’s going to come are you going to walk one down on the line and have a four down front or and then drop him back are you going to send all three are you going to send the two on the left and then leave the one on the right like there’s so many different options uh and it’s so much easier to drop eight you can show pressure and drop eight into coverage uh there’s just so many different things you can do you have to have the linebackers on the defensive line to do it but I’m excited about it I’m excited to get another you know a multiple defense that can change the look and confuse the offenses because the biggest issue with this defense even 23 that extremely Elite defense would give up plays just because you know where at you know exactly where to attack um and that’s not going to be the way anymore both the trenches are going to step up to another level I truly believe that and uh yeah we’re gonna have to find out I don’t know Solomon Thomas again looking like the only person left that will possibly lose if he sticks I don’t know what to say uh I’ll be telling all the lies but I’m ready to lie I can’t wait to see what they can get out of the portal again like I said Chason Brown the 6’7 offensive tackle freak I’m not sure if he’s going to sign today maybe a little bit later uh but there’s three or four defensive linemen three or four linebackers coming possibly from Nebraska yeah it’s going to be a lot of fun like this day has been a lot of fun but I promise you guys December 9th is when the portal technically opens so what you’re seeing all these people that are saying they’re entering the portal they’re announcing their intentions to enter the portal they’re not actually in the portal so the problem with that is if you know whatever school if Nebraska is another coach for example oh they could they pull their name out because it’s not actually in the portal yet unless you’re a graduate graduates can enter 365 days a year but as far as the young players the unlimited transfer rule that is December 9th through December 28th at midnight I believe is that is that that role so we won’t know for sure for sure be able to sign guys until then um I’m not even sure if they can take visits yet or not they probably can’t take visits anywhere in the country that’s why you could never beat Bama unless you had a top three recruiting class every year like you that’s the way you had to do it you to play that game because when you get into these football games whether you run 50 plays or 80 plays or 90 plays on each side guys are going to get tired you have to rotate D lineman you have to rotate linebackers you have not so much offensive line for whatever reason we did that a ton but you know offensive line might get injured well M Bama for 10 years 15 years okay our our starting offensive tackle goes down well guess what we got a backup tackle that’s better than anybody else in the rest of the country anyways and the same thing we oh defensive tackles got uh got hurt a lot of times the guys behind them were even better and just it them for a chance and once they got the field that’s it now they’re the starter we had that same thing at Florida State and it was a beautiful thing for a long time but it literally does not exist and that’s how Ohio State goes and loses to a sorry Michigan team only puts up 10 that’s how Miami goes and gets smoked by Georgia Tech at the end of the day that’s how Georgia goes into four eight overtimes excuse me with Georgia Tech it’s it’s crazy there’s so much parity so much parity than ever before and yet we have to hear this SEC [ __ ] and how much better they are than everybody it’s like you’re trying to convince us that the SEC as a conference is Far and Away better than everybody never been ever before because you added these Brands when there’s more parody in out today when Shamar Arno uh flipped that he credited Pat cerain for it so that I know that relieved a lot of people seems like Pat sticking around you said this might be a better staff than people think Tony white pot roast patain like we’ll see who the next coach or two it might be only one depending on how they fill out the staff it’s either four or five uh like I think this defensive staff could be the best in the nation if they get the next two hires right is that hyperbole like am I tripping no I mean JP is a really good coach and he’s good at special teams and he he’s did a good job recruiting right so he could do oite o linebacker and special teams Poss be the Jack which again a lot of people fear this 335 because you listen to people who ain’t never played ball before 335 ain’t nothing but a 425 a stand up DM um that’s basically all it is but um give you options baby I play football but I listen to people like you that did I mean some of it is not even it’s not a knock on if you didn’t play or not it’s just more so more people are afraid to say I don’t know yes and are afraid to listen to people who do know um then they are from they just they have to be right so um I do think you know if you can bring in some youth even if you can move Randy to off field um as an analyst keep him around because he does have his contract regardless I think um Randy being on here doesn’t hurt the staff at all um Pastor T’s a good coach as well um you know I don’t I think the the thought is that he may still try to go take a shot at the NFL if it if it provides it so um Southern Miss is probably going to go in a different direction but I think um the staff is fine I think the offensive staff is going to be better than what people thinks thinks as well so um I just think um again what happened was when you’re having the record that you have it’s very easy to be negative um but and negativity sells but I I’m still whether it’s good or bad I still want to always stay in the realm of real of realism Florida State’s not a two and 10 team they’re two and 10 team because of their record they were not a two And1 team based on the talent um something went a and hopefully he brought in the right guys to make to change that and write the ship in the in the best Direction and currently there’s some good young men who are vibing with it and I think they’ll finish with a top when it’s all said and done um the top 30 class um and all things considered with the decommits they had when they had the decommits that’s pretty impressive yeah man I I’ve been a bit surprised and Mike didn’t shy away from it he said I don’t think many of these guys are going to run away I think they’re going to stick and when you look at Nebraska fire their coordinator like we’ve been talking about it all day that whole front seven is in the portal they done lost quarterbacks you know Matt R said we’re going to lose 30 to 50 guys we’ll see the portal doesn’t actually open to the ninth but I think it’s going to be more of an exit interview situation than guys kind of running we’ll see how it works out got that uh but yeah the offensive side I know I’ve heard of a couple wide receiver coaches or anything uh but nothing really uh the strong there we really only got Ma on and then hand do you have any thoughts on how they might fill that out or who they might retain or how that could go down I think Tony Co cars seems like maybe he ends up staying yeah I don’t think Tony’s going anywhere um Tony um yak’s not going anywhere um Marcus um Marcus Davis um wide receiver coach at Auburn hopefully I said his name right um Grant herd those are guys that I’m I’m I’m hearing about a little a little bit on the wide receiver front you could see I Tim Harris um dad’s legendary High School coach um but now he’s coaching I think at um Florida Memorial um that’s ice Harris but he’s been um pretty good um young coach coach for um Gus down at UCF um then you know it just all depends on what they want to do with Thompson um and again Thompson hasn’t been the problem he’s been recruiting what he can get um you just got to make sure you know you find guys that are they need more recruiters more more um guys that are going to beat the trail down so um again I don’t think we were I think it was just a really bad year I don’t think it’s as much scheme as what people think but Gus is gonna be able to bring his guys in yeah I think going into the season there was all the hype we’re all predicting 10 11 12 wins repeat you know booking hotels to Charlotte I think that loss in Georg against Georgia Tech in Ireland like whatever happened behind the scenes like that’s what caused it because you go on to look and see how Georgia Tech played the rest of the year like no that was a pretty damn good team they only lost when they didn’t have their quarterback and do what they did to Georgia and things of that nature I think if this team had the benefit of like hindsight now that we have of who Georgia Tech is maybe they don’t completely fall apart but anyways we don’t have to go on and on about that it’s over with but yeah I was talking about that earlier like I didn’t play I’m not an alumni like you but I’m a fan a lifelong fan so whether it sells or not the negativity was killing me it was burning me up I hate it like stopped doing as many Florida you know one week the guy’s the lame duck you get one win a little momentum you get another win now Florida is one of the hottest teams in the country uh so yeah it feels really good you said top 30 I think we’re at 23 now but of course that’s including possibly the Solomon Thomas flip so we don’t know how far that would drop us but there’s an outside chance this thing could end up in the top 25 or the top 30 and I think that’s a slam dunk for me James I’m anticipating Solomon flipping to LSU but I’m also anticipating another flip I haven’t looked up yet to see if the kid is signed interior lineman on 247 same thing with Thomas on home three always been know he plays tackle in high school right but he’s going to be um interior offensive lineman in college that’s where they project him at he you think that hand sees him because obviously atkansas Tom as a guard do you think possibly hand or whoever could look we we see we give you a chance at tackle you know or is I think he’s that’s where he I mean you never know what could happen you have to be able to play all all five of the positions across the offensive line um but I think he for his body type that’s where they think he’s gonna put on 30 pounds and he’s just gonna have to play tight end he’s a bigger kid he looks bigger than 215 um I think he’s um but I I just happen to think with his speed that’s kind of where you have him at yeah yeah I mean he’s two inches shorter and the same exact size as Chase lton yeah people are are committed are convinced he’s coming over here but their reasoning is they’re recruiting him at tight end so I just like yeah if we’re going to do the same thing it makes you wonder I think we give him a chance it reminds me it was the tight end we had last year that’s with the Patriots now that transferred from South Carolina my goodness Pier Thomas no that’s the defensive lineman gosh yeah I was I was really big on this guy I don’t know why I can’t think of his name somebody tell us in the chat because he played running back at South Carolina when they j j j Bell yes lot of people don’t realize is Jahim Bell that was the similar thing that happened with him for the state wanted him we wanted him as a um wide receiver I mean as a tight end South Carolina say he could play wide receivers to end up putting him at tight end and him being at one point considered the number one tight end in the nation so yeah so I think that’s something that you know again whatever whatever you gotta do to get him in the room but if it were me I would want to be on the field I think him I think Amari Williams would be fine I know he hurt his KNE but um anything about I haven’t heard just forgot about it so in on recruiting like do we know if it was like a ACL MCL or who the the surprise flips were even though he said it about 10 times I know people are cycling through here the two they weren’t surprises like Chris Razer in the chat you know we’ve been talking about these guys for a while we were expecting you know to get some of them just weren’t necessarily expecting to get all of them but the two big ones Usman CR chroma is probably the biggest one then Javon bogs is another big one um those are the ones that happen today and then sh in the summer we thought Shamar it was going to be either Shamar or Unis Cannon bny and we we settled on Shamar but then again once the season stopped it’s like you know all that stuff ended so to be able to get him back and like I said earlier for him to pretty much say it’s he says like I don’t know if he said it’s just because of pater tan but that was like the main reason that got him back that gives me hope if you can keep those guys together uh I’m fired up about that defensive staff like I can’t I’m thinking back I can’t remember a time when I’ve been this excited maybe when Jeremy kit came in uh to change from that uh I don’t know cover two offense I don’t know if you called it 425 that Bob stops ran back then but um to bring that to go to the 34 and have the multi defense for that one year that was really exciting that’s how I feel about this um I think a lot of people understand what the 34 is versus the 335 I know you mentioned it a little bit but while I’ve got you here I watched your um interview with Antonio cardi and he did a really good job you guys talked about um kind of how that works like it’s the 335 can do everything the 34 does do everything the 425 does um but I guess try to you know do a better job than me to give a little rundown on it roast is locked in KH there’s no no upd no updates needed he’s he’s he’s a no and again everybody knows hit that like button hit the Subscribe we’re trying to get to 3,000 subscribers make sure you get over to den Media comes back you got farmer you got dur who actually fits this pretty good um now who do you have here this is where you can get a mjj which he already plays standup defensive end for us um which is basically all it’s all it is man it’s literally I mean so that’s a linan that’s a Lin that’s a Lin this is a twinter your jack linebacker so it’s no different than what we do guy he’s if he goes to a 34 in the NFL they’re gonna call him o linebacker if he goes to a 425 they’re gonna call him a DN but it’s the same [ __ ] guy right you want to know something F funny over the course of the years there’s a guy by the name of Demarcus Walker no one love you know what he’s play he’s played this position and he’s played that position but our was a 425 but we have three we have a three down look um you know who’s done this again mjj has done this Patrick pton has done this what did Jarry vers get drafted at did he get drafted as a defensive end no he went to three four he’s drafted as a line he got drafted as a linebacker it’s literally today’s game like again I think what happens is we don’t hear some of these things and it gets scary and don’t be scared do not Christian Jones it’s been around Florida State for years guys like you just you just haven’t recognized getting back to what we want to do baby don’t be afraid by new phrases um and by people who and by people who you listen to Just because they can’t explain it to you doesn’t mean it’s a bad thing it’s just like when people talk about Gus oh Gus m offens is watched [ __ ] I take a top 20 offense with a top 15 Run game all day every day so like um just hey man and the way that you do it so how offenses adjust and set up things is based upon who they have who are the stationary people right so boom boom boom we got what we need I see three down lineman we’re going to base it upon that you can’t really tag up to a linebacker if you don’t know which linebacker’s coming in the passing game so it helps with the passing game with pressure and when you got big linemen you got good things going on like that so love it I was saying earlier and maybe you can expound upon it one of my biggest gripes that somebody who didn’t play and always trying to learn like I imagine if I’m an offensive coordinator and I’m playing Adam Fuller I know he’s just going to send four guys every third down and you have the picture so whether you have even Elite guys like we did last year it’s like you know offenses can find the holes and they made us pay with this3 five they’re going to be able to dirty it up and confuse like not give the defensive picture a lot better gu said we got to be two gapping we we already two Gap so now it’s two gapping with a purpose um yeah the weakness of most defenses is a deep mle my bad I’m sorry I’ll be reading the comments dog oh you’re good man I’m just happy to have you here I’m bad about forgetting the comments I didn’t even look at the comments for the first 20 minutes I was so fired up the um the weakness of any defense is that typically um that’s why you got to put pressure on on the quarterback if you can get if you hit the quarterback and force them to make the easy throws but one of the cool things about it is especially if you’ve got where we’re deep at is safety um we could be there and just um you know we’re good to go um so we should have again we have the opportunity to bring bring pressure from a lot of different angles so it’s um it’s wild it’s a it’s a pretty good thing man the daily chop podcast our guy to Sean says James and George what up I can’t look but can’t I can look but can’t join and I’m giddy right now I think pretty much everybody in no nation is pretty pretty giddy right now there’s no doubt about that you think we take a portal quarterback that keeps coming up um yes I do I think I’m sorry I think we take a quarter quarterback and I think in the spirit of competition our room is just too young um that’s basically it yeah I just it’s like you there’s two ways you can go and these are just two names that I’ll use casianos and Kaden Salter if you get Kaden Salter in here he’s gonna come in and be the starter like it’s gonna be hands down you’re G to try to make a run again with him if you get castanos to come in maybe there is some kind of competition and you could see a thing where him and Luke you know towards the end of the year maybe Luke can take over or there’s some competition there but a lot of people are really turned off by castanos for the whole quitting thing even talk to JV and Elliott I was trying to make a case for him like you know with Bill O’Brien telling Jaylen milroe he should play running back and he’s not going to play quarterback for him and ending up being a Heisman Contender and all that like I want to give casianos the benefit of the doubt but am I just being naive like is that somebody you wouldn’t want to bring in because he quit when he got benched or whatever the case happened behind closed doors like should he have just been the bigger man and finished the season even if he did get screwed over um I don’t know all the information but I do know right Bill O’Brien is a pro style coach so just it it doesn’t M it didn’t match um so I’m not mad about that um but I don’t I don’t want them because I don’t want a 59 quarterback um that’s just me um somebody who I would like I be interested in seeing um and we had a chance at this young man uh when he came in um but we were we we went in a different direction and that would be um Avery Johnson so Avery Johnson somebody that I think would be interesting but I’m not mad at the kid from Liberty though um yeah somebody asked it’s liberty liberty on alter but I know that a lot of smart people are super super high on him and yeah ctios like they said he’s been he said he was contacted by him I don’t know if they offered him or not um I like I’m not saying I’m dying for that guy I’m just saying I could see him come in here based on what Gus has had success with before um I just I wouldn’t mind having him so we’ll see but yeah where’s Avery from is he is that the dude that was a quarterback at Houston no he’s Kansas State Kansas State that’s right I’m getting everything wrong today it’s hard man I don’t um we’re after so many people across the country and stuff it’s like a it’s kind of a blur after everything being dead for like two and a half months folks have said Jackson Arnold has entered the portal um what do you I couldn’t see him see him coming here but that would be nuts I mean there’s another another guy who can run it and do all the things that would be kind of a prototype or like I think that’s the quarterback that just Gus hasn’t been able to get in his career the guy that has the upside with the arm and the leg I mean I you get that guy I mean that’s that’s a big get that would be you tell all lot baby I mean I like I said I don’t know the relationship there but um but I don’t think you get a guy I think Luc is the guy move in the end of the day I think what we really need is a stop Gap guy and that’s really the big thing and unfortunately we haven’t had that so um yeah yeah I said I see Luke as a Josh Allen type potential of God kind of his style people I mean they roasted me they feted me for saying that and it’s like guys Josh Allen like was like a Joo guy that then went to Montana or Wyoming and then he didn’t play the sophomore year at Montana and then his junior year he went off so like just because Luke you give two years let’s see what he does as a junior before you say I’m absolutely crazy I just like his mobility and his arm reminds me of Josh Allen maybe he doesn’t quite have the athleticism doesn’t have the size but I imagine by the time he graduates he’ll look something a lot closer to that than kind of his slender flame he frame he has now I think the sky’s the limit with him and you know better than anybody uh from who his quarterback coaches Denny Thompson and kind of him playing DB his first couple years in in high school and only having this is this was his third year playing quarterback and it’s not a wing te but they had a run run heavy oriented offense over there at the military academy like I don’t know I think the the the sky is is is is you know the limit he can go as high as he wants and it’s just with the offensive line this year I don’t think you could really evaluate any quarterback we put back there that’s the hard part and that’s why you didn’t want him to play earlier you needed him to get some confidence but again wasn’t wasn’t need but we’ll see um lot of good stuff um to be happy for to be excited about I’m probably gonna come on a little a little bit later just wanted to hop on man
