lot of sense fans that are going to be there um going to Tweet out what section I’m in hoping to meet up with as many s fans as possible and hopefully keep her going and uh keep her going well I’ve got good news for you py if you rewind the clock the last time the Ottawa Senators had a four game win streak we were at the next game and they made it a five-game win streak that was last spring against the Winnipeg Jets on the road but the only difference was at that point in the season they were so far out of it it didn’t have the same feeling that it has right now where they’re firing their way up the standings how many fire puns think I can use in the first five minutes of the show you’re red hot right now keep itting up we’re we’re getting hot here we are taking on the flames and Calgary but hey Lewa Senator same thing as yesterday nobody in the in the vicinity of them won last night in other words just Philadelphia they lose in regulation to Detroit so yeah Detroit now feels like they’ve got a little bit of momentum sure but Ottawa still wakes up in a playoff spot this morning controlling their own destiny with a bunch of games in hand on some of the teams right below them so another great opportunity this will wrap up the season series between the Senators and the Calgary Flames it took uh it was Amazon game funny enough we’re going to talk about Amazon a little bit later on this show but the Senators started this whole stretch with a win over the Calgary Flames 11 games ago since that moment the auto Senators have been soaring like a meteor 82 and one with a plus 10 goal differential and that 4-3 win over Calgary was one of those classic uh old school Senators games where they go down big and then make it look a little prettier at the end there with a goal with 40 seconds left yeah not these Ottawa Senators Ross I’m hoping they get out to a big lead early quiet down the Saddle Dome and uh as long as number 35’s in net keep that lead going and uh get their fifth straight win here let’s look how the Ottawa Senators are expected to line up and make sure to follow along at sen Central at Brandon pillar 1 this morning py will be boots on the ground at the morning skate going to go see if he can get a couple chats in and we’ll get you as much info as we can from Calgary we expect Josh Norris to remain at Center between Brady kachuck and Drake bson Tim stza will Center clo jaru and Adam godette Shane Pinto between Nick cousins and Michael amadio and then you got Zach AAP chuk with Noah Gregor and Ridley Greg the Alberta beef line being featured in Alberta a homecoming for all three of those players the Senators also announcing another Alberton callup Cole Reinhardt will be rejoining the team no word on if he will play that’s Ridley Greg did get an assist in the game up against the Seattle Kraken but before that Ross he was on a nine game pointless streak but he had two assists up against the Calgary Flames so I’m hoping uh the Alberta boy in Calgary with the Alberta beef line can keep things going and Ross I want to have the Alberta beef line beef things up as well I want to see Ridley Greg throwing the body out there he’s a physical player I want to see the SS play a physical gritty type of game up against the Flames here and Noah Gregor has been heating up lately as well there I go with the Flames heating up pun Ross we’re both going to do it all show I’m sure oh my goodness hot but yeah Ridley Greg number 71 he is going to be my locked on player for tonight this is hilarious py we don’t tell each other are locked on players to watch before the game we like having it oh natural um we both have fourth liners as our locked on players I’m calling it buddy with his friends I know he’s more of a Edmonton guy St Albert native but I I’m feeling a Zach achuk first NHL goal tonight oh that would be awesome that’s what I’m feeling look Gregor got the goal in the last game we know Ridley’s got a few goals already some of them M empty Nets some of them pass goalies but Zack a stap Chuck I’m calling an NHL goal tonight for the first time so he’ll be my locked on player but I’ll also give you Brady kachuck because I just love the way that he’s playing however he had one of his quieter games against Seattle and I’ve noticed whenever he has a quiet game he comes back with a big one the next night now quiet game is obviously very um you know uh subjective to how Brady plays on an everyday BAS he still had five shots four hits and went 80% on five faceoffs in the game against Seattle um but was off the score sheet and I’m feeling him getting back on it tonight they’ll need him and he knows that building well from watching Matthew all those years back in Calgary and we’ll get to why there’s going to be a little extra Spotlight on Brady not only tonight but throughout this NHL season so those are our locked on players to watch let us know yours in the comments how are you feeling tonight about this game is this a game where you’re worried about the Calgary Flames we’ll get into the flames right now we’re expecting them to line up as follows nazam Cadre the Topline Center between Jonathan huberto and Martin posil then you have male backland with Blake Coleman and Matthew Coronado rounding out their top six the third line is Connor Zer with eigor Sharon govic and Jacob Peltier the fourth line Kevin Rooney with Ryan lomberg and Walker derer on the back end former Ottawa 67 Kevin Ball with Rasmus Anderson you got Joe Hanley with Ottawa boy McKenzie weager and then in the third pair Jake Bean with Braden bahal in goal it’s either Dustin wolf or Daniel vladar both goalies very much uh capable however vlad’s numbers much worse than Dustin Wolf’s so far this season for more background on the Calgary Flames check out yesterday’s episode with our old friend Johnny Abbott who’s now calling games for the flames on sportset py who is your Lookout player to watch my Lookout player to watch is going to be number 91 nazam cadri uh the number one Center for this team second on the team in points Ross this guy has been feeling it lately he’s on a four game goal streak all four games recently for the Flames he has scored one goal and unfortunately he’s also a s killer uh he has the most points up against the Ottawa s than any other team in his career stop me if you heard me talk about this lately I said the same for Brandon Montour we got a couple guys that love playing the Ottawa Senators in 38 games he has 31 points including 15 goals and that’s also the most goals he has up against any other franchise in his career so probably a lot of those coming back uh from kadri’s Days playing with the Leafs so hopefully those are behind him but nazam cadri is the number one Center on this team for a reason he’s a big part of the identity of this new look Calgary Flames and he’s someone that I definitely am concerned about when we talk about playing a gritty game uh with Ridley Greg cadri can really play a gritty game with some added skill as well so I’m gonna be looking out for number 91 nazam Cadre yeah Cadre did have a goal in that game where Ottawa played Calgary it was the the garbage time goal at the very end 39 seconds left left in a uh then two-goal game so he brought it close he also had two assists uh last time they played on January 9th last season he’s got five points in his last four games against the Ottawa Senators he also had a four-point game against Ottawa the last game he played with Colorado before moving on as a free agent whenever I hear nazam Cadre though I always think back to the draft floor uh viral clip where Brian Murray saying to Brian Burke saying uh he’s our guy that that’s who we want at nine and berky says no we’re taking him at eight and then Ottawa takes Jared Callen ninth overall in the 2009 draft so whenever I hear nazam cod’s name H that’s what comes to mind but codre is definitely settling in now to his roles a lot of talk that if if the Flames don’t get uh into a playoff spot at at 34 years old maybe codre is a guy they look to trade for futures he’s having a tough year so far man- 16 in 32 games does have 12 goals though and bills he scored in four straight games as well he’s on a four game goal streak at least a five game point streak as well so um you you can rewind that yeah he’s wow gee he’s on quite quite the run here including the game against Ottawa in his last let’s pull this up here for the people in his last 15 games nazam kadri’s only been held off the score sheet three times so he’s been producing a lot more as of late very good Lookout player my Lookout player I think it was the same one we did last time um previewing the game but I just love love love watching McKenzie weager out there I know he’s such a St dude he’s got 73 shots on goal this year in 32 games so much like Brandon Montour with Seattle he loves to put everything on net one note on McKenzie weager though he’s near the top of the league in giveaways this year as well now he’s among other players where you’re just like oh wait the giveaway stats just who has the puck on their stick the most in a game but he’s got 62 giveaways to lead the NHL now here are the names right below them Nathan McKinnon Eric Carlson douge Hamilton okay like these are good players just because they’re giving the puck away they’ve got it a lot but he also leads the league in defensive Zone giveaways so try to pounce on those opportunities and don’t let him get to his comfort zone which is in the offensive end where he is just an absolute stud snapping it around getting pucks on net and he’s uh proven in the past that he can score too only four goals this year only would lead all sense defenseman but last year he scored 20 goals I believe him kale M are two if not the only two uh maybe Quinn Hughes as well to get to that 20 goal Martin no Hughes had 17 last year so I believe him and kale marar the only defenseman in the NHL last year to hit 20 goals so McKenzie weager will be my Lookout player to watch while we’re looking out for the Calgary Flames they’ve been on a bit of a stagnant time right now if you go back to since their loss against the Ottawa Senators the Calgary Flames are three four and three now there’s some impressive victories in there too they shut out the defending Stanley Cup champs the Florida Panthers three nothing they shut out the Blue Jackets three nothing so two of their three wins have come via shutouts but it was an unfortunate ending to their game against the Boston Bruins in their last game at home we were big time Calgary Flames fans that game they couldn’t get it done they were up two nothing a minute 22 seconds into the game py and they were up 3-1 after the first period but they gave up two goals and quick secession in the third period and then lost in overtime via David Pastak goal so they’re gonna have a bit of a sour taste in their mouth coming into this game we’ll see how the Ottawa Senators can maintain their play style and get two more points tonight how can they do it we’ll discuss next keys to Victory and then wow you well I mentioned I want the the Senators to play a gritty game Ross but the Calgary Flames one of the spots where they struggle is their penalty kill their penalty kill is near the bottom of the league at 29th at 71.9% so I want to see the Ottawa canders power play really have a good night especially Ross I’m going to be boots on the ground so when there’s a power play I want to be celebrating a goal so I think if you’re going to have a chance up against this team which I think the autta centers certainly do I think you need to take advantage when you have the man Advantage because this team although they don’t have like that Elite star power I do think they have some decent depth five on five and they’ve got a good back end and especially if Dustin wolf is going to be the guy playing net it’s not going to be easy to beat him so make sure you’re doing it when you got the power play I just can’t get over how the splits on the power play are so different from when the Ottawa Senators are at home versus on the road on the road they’ve got one of the worst Power plays in the National Hockey League all the way down at 27th clicking at 133% but then when you get that CTC energy when you got Song 2 as a potential to blast through the loudspeakers ottawa’s got the second best power play in the National Hockey League at home so second vers 27th let’s see that regress to the mean just on the road though I want to keep it red hot at home but that’s something definitely to watch in tonight’s game for me it’s win the battle in the trenches the Calgary Flames when they’re successful they’re playing in-your-face hockey they’re playing hard they’re playing physical and Ottawa has the horses to match that and they got to do it especially on the road this Barn’s going to be loud the first 10 minutes of the game get through it settle down get a couple good saves from lenaar hopefully not 15 like he had to make in the first period against Seattle but I’m going to be watching for the battle and the trenches the guys and that’s why Zack a stap Chuck and Brady Chuck or two guys that I’m keying on I want to go Chuck Chuck chucking into the Saddle Dome so I’m going to be watching for that in tonight’s game and hopefully the Ottawa Senators can come through with two points because man would it be nice to get even closer to the Boston Bruins I’m I’m getting greedy Psy I’m looking at that third spot in the Atlantic right now I know Tampa’s got games in hand but at least give us a day in that spot I want to be top three baby yeah I want to see this team be aggressive Ross like they and they have been recently on the four check on the back check and yeah I want a gritty game and both are locked on players on the fourth line let’s see them be the leaders in the battle in the Trent’s Ross generals even so I want to see Ridley Greg uh really have a nice game tonight and the Calgary Flames in the Saddle Dome they’ve been exceeding expectations so if news coming out this morning that Brady kachuck will be featured on season two of Amazon’s Faceoff documentary now season one was awesome I’m just finishing the last couple episodes right now watch the first few it’s just cool to see that this this behind the scenes aspect of what what these NHL stars are going in and pillsy uh Brady was on season one just briefly as his brother Matthew was one of the stars who were followed around with the big cameras yeah I actually haven’t watched it yet Ross I’m going to download it for the plane Ryan home tomorrow but let’s see the star be BR kachu and yeah like we mentioned at the top of the show we need the Ottawa centers to have a good season this year oh don’t we ever and when they made the announcement and they said it’s coming in 2025 I was like oh no please tell me this wasn’t something that was done last season where it was very disappointing in Ottawa obviously there’s a lot that goes into the filming of it but we wanted it to be a bit of a happier ending so we already knew the playoffs were not only the goal but the necessity for this ottaa Senators team this year but now that we’re going to relive it in Fall 2025 in the documentary style of Amazon this will live forever pelsey we need the Ottawa Senators to make playoffs this year and just the the passion of Brady kachaka being an ambassador for Ottawa as well in this he’s always just spoken so glowingly about the city of Ottawa he’s a new dad he’s got the captaincy here in the Canadian national capital so I just think all signs are pointing to a big finish of the year for Brady kachuck we’re not sure when the cameras if it’s going to be all season or just some of it that they’re going to follow them around but season one had Conor McDavid Matthew kachuck Quinn Hughes David pack and William elander so it also shows that the star power of Brady kachuck it expands a lot further than just the Senator’s fan base yeah and this is a great opportunity for the rest of the NHL and hockey fandom to see more about the AWA centers and Ross you think maybe New York Rangers fans will tune into this one a little bit extra yeah well I hope a Rangers player in this dude the way they’re season’s going let me get my hands on those story lines juicy to say the least but cannot wait for this it was such a hit in season 1 it’s got the same Vibe as you know Formula 1 that drive to survive show the PGA Tours full swing this is the uh NHL version of that and we can’t wait to see Brady kachak as a part of that and again just representing Ottawa is going to be so huge for him so um they just put out their season two promo today and only Brady kachuck is on the featured image so that means there will be more players but they’ll all be announced at a later date this one is just Brady kachuck that’s the headliner for season two love it makes sense I mean if it’s only Brady kachuck it’s gonna be a great season so it doesn’t even matter who’s on there oh love that so we’ll see what Brady’s got in store Brady’s having a heck of a season once again you just look at the clutch moments this guy’s had you don’t even have to look back too far the overtime winner against the Pittsburgh Penguins Brady’s got 15 goals 32 points in 31 games he’s on Pace for a career high in points this season he had 83 and 82 two seasons ago but what I love about Brady too he’s a plus player this year plus one but that’s what he was last year let’s keep that going here going into the second half of the season and then 130 shots and 117 hits there’s not many players like him in the National Hockey League so I think he’s the perfect guy to feature and that’s even before going with the personality and what he would call you uh what what did he call it where we asked why he has the best f Expressions when we had him on this summer I think he just said sometimes I look like a like a space cadet whatever his words were he was he was laughing at himself so he’s got that um you know serious when he needs to be but he’s got that goofy personality I think will pop on TV so really looking forward to seeing this oh it’s gonna be awesome yeah I mean anything Amazon’s been doing lately has been great their broadcasts have been great the documentaries have been great so I expect nothing less of uh the Brady kachuck Face Off season so the Ottawa Senators are going for a fifth straight victory tonight py like doesn’t that in itself kind of give you chills I I didn’t think this was going to be possible it was just recently they couldn’t win three in a row so since they made it four we may as well keep it rolling here no oh yeah may as well keep it rolling and keep her rolling um and Ross I was looking at the standings and I got stuck into this classic mind frame of being obsessed with 500 and I was like okay there’s 16 13 and two so you got a three game Cush here in to be 500 how about we stop and then I had to stop myself and I was like how about we stop worrying about being 500 let’s just stay cruising higher and higher than 500 and not worry about being balanced there so if the Ottawa centers can get another good game here and make it five straight they’re Detroit last night we would also like to see the Nashville Predators do Ottawa another favor they did one last game against the New York Rangers they’re at nine wins on the season but they’re hosting the Pittsburgh Penguins I think this one is the biggest the Edmonton Oilers are hosting the Boston Brun so we’re going to do a parlay tonight that will feature just the Blues in regulation and the Oilers in regulation that’s against Tampa and Boston those are the two teams that the sends should be most interested in catching in the standing so that’s your please help the sends daily preview and
