get a top 10 team on the road this weekend how big the test is that guys yeah you know you find out a lot we haven’t uh you know we haven’t played in that environment obviously it’s going to be a great environment on Saturday night um you know I think Alabama from a talent perspective is one of the top two or three teams in the country and they just keep bringing guys at you off the bench and uh you know they’ve done an unbelievable job of assembl assembling that roster um and uh you know they’re a heck of a team how how different are they than last year or or are they any different uh you know I I think Cliff inside gives them some Rim protection that maybe they didn’t have last year uh but you know Sears is still playing at a high level and and uh you know we fully anticipate to see Chris Young Blood who’s you know could end up being one of their better players that hasn’t played yet so we played against him when he was at Kennesaw um as a freshman in sophomore here before he transferred to sth South Florida and he was a player of the year in that League last year so so uh we’re anticipating that he’ll be healthy and ready to play and you know that provides another challenge it hasn’t felt like a silver lining but you know with now the pop is out having those guys get extra reps is that benefiting you guys now as you’re preparing I mean you hope so um you know in some of the game experience against UNLV uh you know especially Isaac and Jason really went out and did some good things on both ends of the floor so you know for their confidence as we move forward that’s huge and you know Shane and and Tai both got out there as well and you know Mason’s trying to start at a position he hasn’t played that much um so there’s going to be you know that we’ve got some the learning curve still pretty steep for us um but and you know finals week’s a hard time to correct anything because the guys obviously are on the move and our their sleep schedules our practice schedules all over the map and for some reason we have seven finals on Friday morning which is a that’s kind of a painful thing to do at the end of semester so uh we won’t get out of here till later tomorrow afternoon what so much last message change I mean we we talk all the time about preparing yourself for the unexpected and the unexpected can come in a lot of ways it could come in a position change uh it could come in you know the the role that you’re playing in the minutes that you play um because of an injury or an illness or foul trouble there’s a lot of different things that can happen and and our expectation our guys are ready now having said all that there’s not a lot of teams playing freshman in the country and we’re you know we three of them were on the floor against UNLV the other day and uh my guess is all three of them are going to play at Alabama on Saturday like you guys have dealt with injuries in the past you had Mo and youw from I mean it’s it’s it’s it’s it’s different I think at that stage of the season because it’s really hard to uh you know our tws was was six or seven games left uh you know I think uh we were 18 and one or something at the time so we still had part of the Season left but um you know in both cases you know R2 gets hurt and Trey’s a freshman and he replaces him when uh you know when Maurice got hurt U Davon Mintz was a freshman you know so you replaced him with some young guys and that that was just the makeup of the roster at the time so I don’t know if you learn from it um I don’t think it becomes any less painful when you lose a guy for the season that’s pretty important to what you’re doing how how important does that make a guy like Ty you mentioned him a few minutes ago but just his his role as a being able to step up early yeah he’s you know and he’s gotten better especially on the defensive end and in some areas that maybe don’t show in the stat sheet he’s making significant Improvement um and you know it’ be fun for him to go back to Alabama to play but you know we’re going to have we’re going to have to rely on him he’s going to need to play a a pretty significant role in this team and you know he brings some things offensively that Shane doesn’t bring to the table and Shane brings some things defensively that Tai doesn’t so they’re they’re they’re both going to be uh part of the rotation just just going to depend on the situation for one more yeah I mean really since Camp started it’s just with youi it’s just like consistency you know learn to do it every single day every single rep every single practice and then it’ll just happen in the games and I think we’re moving that direction you know we’re asking a lot of him right now uh because you know pop was kind of the secondary ball handler he and Steven kind of handled it about the same amount of time and and now Jamiah is going to have to be someone that has the ball in his hands and is making decisions a little bit more so making sure he’s making good decisions when he add the basketball and and obviously defensively uh we’re asking him to do a lot favorite Christmas movie favorite Christmas movie song whichever you know uh you know I was probably a big fan of the Grinch you know back in the day and uh try not to be a grinch this year you’re dressed like a grinch today thanks back
