good morning recers we continue with the winter sports previews and today I want to talk about uh the ice hockey teams both the boys and the girls uh an interesting thing about both of them is that uh they are co-ops uh combination with uh other schools last year the boys were still just Staples but this year they joined with Norwalk and Brian McMahon and the girls uh are with Stanford and West Hill so they’re called SWS and the boys are called Storck so these teams uh you know last year let’s talk about the girls first last year they uh they had a very good season they made it to the FC semi-final and the State final at quinap Pak and that game was very exciting uh they you know they played really well they didn’t come up with the title but you know it was a great season for them to navigate through that State Playoff and um really make that a championship game uh we didn’t uh we had a couple players in the All State team uh a bunch of them in the conference team so it was really good season for them we had we had coach John Fay on the podcast early in the season and uh we didn’t get too many games but uh we’re really planning to be a lot of them this year so uh I want to wish the coaching staff coach Steve Coach John and everybody else and the girls uh the best of luck this season hopefully uh I believe they kick off this week so I think Friday’s their first game so uh we’ll get those details out to everyone uh their home ice is in Stanford Terry Connor is a very nice ring so um we get a chance to get out there and cover them uh they they have they have a very very good squad and the boys last year uh they uh the Midstate playoffs they almost they were the LA the 16 seed and they were basically 6 seconds away from upsetting the number one seed but uh last minute ago and then they ended up uh dropping in overtime but they played really tough last year and uh their main uh I guess difficulty for lack of a better word were numbers where uh we would go to these gamees against co-ops and uh late in the third period uh we seem to always be a little bit you know behind because hockey they do so many shifts and things like that but no this year I joining McMahon and Norwalk under the the storm act umbrella it should be a really good season for them so we have some really good expectations uh they continue to play their home games at the Milford Ice Arena and uh you know I want to wish coach Bon and all the guys the best of luck can’t wait to get out there uh and see the squad this year and you know same thing with the girls so it’s going to be a lot of fun the hockey uh this is going to be um you know I believe a very good season uh the boys will start late in January I mean January and a little later and the girls will get their season going here uh uh this week so we’ll get those days out to we guys as we get uh right to them so again both teams best of luck this year let’s get out there and go get them want to wish everyone a great Tuesday hopefully the day goes really well and today I want to leave you with this every day has something good in it sometimes you just have to look a little harder be kind to everyone be positive always get after it and go recers
