get into it uh places places I don’t want to be day of the week EV version okay Tuesday around 6:30 p.m. when like the sun just set no thank you a Friday at like at like six like that type of time where the game gets out you can’t really have some moves afterwards like your Friday’s committed to Evanston and then a Sunday 2 pm tip in Evon those are the top three worst so here’s here’s my angle on this I think every day of the week There’s a different place that is the most dangerous you don’t want to step into and here’s here here’s a couple Wednesday nights or actually probably Tuesday or Wednesday nights maybe just midweek Tuesday Wednesday you don’t want to be in Iowa City weird [ __ ] happens in Iowa City on a week night you never want to be there on a Friday night Evanston you’re cooked no chance don’t want to be there on a Saturday Coal Center the whole state of Wisconsin off work at the coal Center on a Saturday afternoon insane uh Monday is the rack don’t think I was going to ignore the rack Monday like a little weekend hangover in Piscataway is a nightmare I don’t know about Sundays I still got to figure that out but did I miss anything I feel like that’s I mean Mackie in general everywhere probably Macky on Sundays uh the Sunday is more time based yeah Sunday at 2 pm I do think Mackey’s a Sunday spot though like like that everybody went to church in the morning actually no you don’t want to play Ohio State Sunday it’s something about it’s something about Columbus on Sunday I don’t think Ohio State wants to play Ohio State that’s the thing about it yeah okay all right all right well anyways bottom line Illinois is going into Evanston in uh the most dangerous night to go into Evanston after Northwestern leaves Iowa City on the most dangerous night to be in Iowa City Northwestern should have won that game if not for a Josh dicks Miracle Northwestern would have had a road win on the road at Iowa team a lot of people like and in stead cart Illinois now gets an extremely pissed off version of Northwestern at home on Friday uh you could flip this I’m going to flip this and say that this is Chris Collins with two nights to prepare against Brad Underwood with eight nights to prepare what are you expecting uh well here’s the thing I really respect Collins and what what he can do to game plan against more talented teams I think he he’s very very well versed in that he’s been doing it for a while um and he kind of has this thing where he kind of just Rides His special players he’s doing that this year with the play of Brooks barnheiser and Nick Martinelli uh and like we stated before this it’s I think that even if you’re a talented team you lose like seven to 15 and a half percent of your talent the moment you walk in Welsh Ryan I think it’s like the booooy tax is what I like to call it um but with that said this Illinois team is extremely talented and they don’t want to get in the talent off with Northwestern because they will just over I mean Northwestern doesn’t want to do that because they’ll get overwhelmed can I give you a number please last season now they had Bouy last season Northwestern at home in Evon immediately after a loss like a big 10 we just lost a game and now we’re coming home spot against a big 10 team Northwestern was 4-0 outright in those games three of those four games came against top 30 opponents including a win against Illinois refocused Chris Collins with a little pissed off energy to him at home does scare me that’s a pretty scary spot and spot wise I do think Illinois is definitely approaching this from like a weird awesome standpoint right like the last time we saw Illinois they were on the second most viewed college basketball game ever packing up John calip Perry they’ve had eight days to eat stuffing and read their headlines like this this kind of feels like an obvious sleepwalking spot no yeah no there’s definitely some of that and I don’t know if there is a look ahead Factor because it’s that far away but they play Wisconsin at home on Tuesday yeah yeah I don’t know interesting um so for those Illinois fans that are watching this that may not watch a lot of Northwestern basketball what do they need to know uh they got three guys that can go um they got Martinelli they got Ty Barry and they got Brooks barnheiser and um Martinelli has been one of the crazy stories of the Big 10 this season he’s been incredible he’s playing at a all first team Big 10 level Ty brry looks like he’s starting to get back to what Ty Barry was doing before the injury and then Brooks barnheiser is one of the more underrated players in the Big 10 and they kind of just ride those three guys until the wheels fall off and then anything else they get from anybody else is kind of a I guess just a a welcome addition yeah um it’s interesting I so I still don’t really believe in northwestern’s pieces like on paper in a huge way this year I wanted KJ Windam to be a bigger part of this like I I would have bought a version of Northwestern that has this freshman guard that like really took over for booy and is good KJ W’s been a non-factor he’s averaging three points a game uh the other guys that they brought in to potentially really fix things here like Jaylen leech has been the good one 14 points a game but he’s not a playmaker for others he’s averaging less than two assists a game what this really comes down to is a lot of guys who are pretty good in like isolation situations and can just go get you a bucket leech is one but the two studs are Martinelli and barnheiser I believe without factchecking this Northwestern may be the only High major team in the country with two guys scoring 20 a game Martinelli and barnheiser are both at 20 20 points a game that’s top of my head yeah I can’t think of anybody else who’s got that that’s Insanity that is insan that’s and it’s not a fluke either like they’re they’re cooking yeah um so how do you guard those guys because Illinois a lot has been made of their improved defense I am buying that their defense is definitely better their defense right now is 25th nationally right now they’re the number one effective field goal percentage defense in the sport cart it’s crazy that is that is crazy what what do you do like who who gets the assignment of Martinelli and barnheiser because if Illinois can just handle those I think they win this game comfortably so my initial thought is what do you think about Boswell on barnheiser BOS is small BOS is BOS is small but don’t you have to go Trey white on one of the two I was thinking Trey white Martinelli than barnheiser Boswell what where does that leave the front court if you go if you put BOS on one of the bigger guys and you’re trying to play hum rck house and a vis still because you would have to put casparis on leech and then they would have either well it’d be Nicholson and Barry is Hummer chasing Barry Barry’s still not the Barry of old I think he can at least be there so you think you could hide hum Rick house a little bit on Barry yeah like I Barry had a good game last game he had 20 points um but like I think if you have if you neutralize one of the three you have a good chance of winning the game even if you don’t you could still win the game I mean last game Martinelli had 19 Barry had 20 and barnheiser at 21 they lost okay I think what I would do with the starting group I would put BOS on Barry and just tell him to actually no I would put BOS on leech and I’d put kasparis on Barry just tell kasparis to stay home have Boswell take leech out of the game completely and then really like you’ll live with barnheiser Martinelli I um now if it were me rather than trying to have H Rick house deal with one of these two I would just put the 610 lottery pick in the game and just tell him to be bigger than Nick Martinelli like hey Will Riley you’re will Riley and that’s Nick Martinelli yeah that could work that would probably be a pretty good plan in this game I think yeah and look there’s a world where he shifts to that quickly I hope so uh EV visich why do I have this weird feeling like Matt Nicholson is kind of up for the Tom m match up yeah that you shake that feeling um yeah yeah I mean Matt Nicholson a true footer wow I’m looking at his numbers he’s been awful this year yeah because he is oh my God he’s bad he’s he’s bad respectfully and also he was better than this last year wasn’t he yeah he like I think he broke his leg or foot toe uh he broke a ligament in every single bone in his leg um and that took whatever he had left uh and also Luke gunger will be in hell if that’s who the the shift is do you know where Matt Nicholson’s from yeah Clarkston I had no idea yeah oh yeah yeah it was it was him flesh that’s hilarious m Fletch and kithier what a squad the team was nasty what a squ I had no idea Matt Nicholson played on that team crazy could I mean but also like look at him yeah true crazy uh North Western’s defense has been better than their offense do they have anything that can cause Illinois’s offense problems or no um I don’t think so I think a lot of what they’ve done like I’m trying to see right now what how many like I mean barnheiser is like an elite Defender when healthy I think Barry’s a good Defender so like they the Personnel wise they have some good Defenders yeah and look they had some you know they they’ve lost the they’ve lost their games this season to the good opponents in close games um so I don’t know this is this is one that if you take the Friday sleepy lightness all of a sudden you like look up in Martinelli barnheiser and bar and all the guys are going off and feeling good in this very small well shine Arena and you’re not in a good you’re
