we have a first on the sleepers Channel this year car we didn’t do a preview for this game just sloppiness hand up that’s an error on my part I should not have neglected Illinois football fans but here we are and uh Illinois did something so exciting that we have to do a recap for it so credit to Illinois you got my full attention this weekend an awesome dramatic heroic Victory 38-31 on the road against Ruckers Pat Bryant with a miraculous fourth down touchdown reception from Luke altm a game where uh Ruckers was leading Illinois needed to attempt a game-winning field goal they chot the field goal kicker out there for I believe a 58 yard field goal into the wind and uh Ruckers IES him the kick goes through as a practice kick and it had no chance and uh credit to Brad belma for capitalizing on this comes back out and says we’re not going to attempt a field goal we know we’re going to miss the field goal let’s roll the dice put put the ball in my quarterback’s hands find our playmaker and altm and Pat Bryant with a moment of Brilliance in the CL uh Illinois now eight and3 on the season 38-31 Victory this is a win it it may not mean much in terms of like where where do they go from here right because they’re they’re locked in they’re making a bowl game they’re not in the college football playoff kind of is where it is the destination’s coming but uh man it’s a feel-good victory and more importantly it’s a win that good football teams get good football teams having good Seasons go on the road and beat a team like Ruckers with some heroic moments from their Stars stepping up that’s exactly what illino I did yeah the star players making plays also would you like to comment on the rumors that uh we are the Luke Alm and Pat Bryan of podcasting I you know I’ve always said I’m a med yes and yes you are altm I’ve always said I’m a mediocre white guy and that’s all I am and you’re the special piece of this so honestly I don’t hate that um the problem is there’s a lot of people who argue altm is a lot better than mediocre and nobody’s arguing that I’m better than mediocre so God I God I love this sometimes but no it it was the game was absolutely crazy um if I’m a Ruckers fan just to kind of put it in this regard how sick are you that you allow that to happen for one um and two just in sometimes incredible players just make incredible plays and that’s basically what Pat Fitzgerald did in this game what was that Pat Fitzgerald like the Northwestern head football coach that was fired in disgrace no like the second coming of Larry Fitzgerald Pat Bryant oh my God okay can we go with Larry Bryant instead I guess we can’t wait isn’t that the name of the NBA that’s the that’s the NBA trophy that’s Larry O’Brien did pfis jald get fired for doing something bad yes oh I’m gonna need you to Google that all right cedie all right um yeah I uh it’s it’s hard to understate how uh how impressed I am with belma this year and that that takes a lot from me to say because that guy blocked me on Twitter years ago but uh I yeah I just think like it feels like Illinois has had a lot of games that like could have gone either way and they always step up and make the plays and the coaches make good calls like you go back through it Kansas one score win Illinois over time win or sorry Nebraska overtime win Purdue overtime win um the only game that I have felt like is like a tossup game that Illinois lost was Minnesota and that’s a bummer but like man every other time that it’s been up for grabs Illinois goes out and grabs it and I don’t know who you give the credit to obviously the players Bryant is such a stud he’s going to have a long NFL career but in general I think Brett belma deserves a bunch of credit because man despite my jokes and criticisms along the way this has become a really special Illinois season and I think no matter where it ends people will always look back fondly on hey remember the altm Pat Bryant season that was an awesome year yeah let’s go with Larry Bryant too that’s a great call by you um whoa Nelly uh yeah I mean look there there’s been a lot of like okay what should this team have been given like expectations changing as the season goes on all in all just kind of take it for what it is this was a really great year for Illinois football and I don’t think they no they they typically don’t have great years so like this is a great year for Illinois football that should be enjoyed um and just kind of leave it at that and uh now they’re in the driver seat to have a pretty good bowl game too I believe I think of the last projection I saw is they play Texas A&M so like chance to beat an SEC team in in a in a bowl game a really good bowl game like that’s I think that’s you really can’t ask for much as an Illinois football fan or ask for more yeah yeah it’s going to be fun it’s gonna be fun to watch wherever it ends congrats to Illinois uh congrats to your football team for
