again is a big 12 game Big 12 getting some action in before the New Year’s holiday this is Iowa State and Colorado again Colorado new members in the Big 12 so this is a conference game with Iowa State laying 10 on the road and the total 146 here in this matchup Jeff na let’s go back to you anything strike you uh here with Iowa state who’s been good this season obviously being a double digigit favorite at altitude now Colorado’s usually pretty good at home under Tad Bole any thoughts here to begin the conversation Jeff yeah I definitely thought this number was about right um I think I’d slightly lean Colorado here just with I I think this is um a team that’s slowly improving right the turnover problems still persists but I I’d hearken people don’t just go off of what we saw when these teams played back back in Maui back in early November or mid November whatever that was these are different teams it’s a different situation you know Colorado just played a couple of games in a row it just is a bad it was a bad spot um I think this is a lot more of a on even Turf type game throwing the fact that as you alluded to it is an elevation I like IA State though too a lot I think offensively this year they’re so Dynamic uh coupling that with how good they are on defense they’re a very dangerous team maybe we got to start talking about them as a top top five team for sure only loss twoo neutral loss to alurn who we all agree is the best team in the country so maybe IA States really really good I actually make cases for both sides I actually think Colorado is pretty solid they’re starting to get uh on kind of even footing so I didn’t have much here I felt the number was about right and again thank you on the pickme up they did play in Maui after Colorado had beaten Yukon in the second game they then got toasted by Iowa state in the Fifth Place game 99- 71 uh in Maui I’m just looking back on that game at who had the big night uh that was monac Lovich if I say it correctly who had 24 for them they also had Curtis Jones with 19 Iowa State all right Corby this is now a road game though Colorado has won some games since any thought including on the total Corby tonight Iowa State Colorado yeah the the thing that impresses me about Iowa State in years past I I didn’t like their offense I didn’t like the speed in which they played this year they are quick like this is the what 80th fastest tempo of the nation uh take it back just two years ago they’re 328th of the nation so this is a team who understands the pressure that they can put on teams and understands how to turn that pressure into offense really fast um 20th of the nation and offensive time of possession like this is a team who just forces their will on defense and doesn’t hold the ball too much in offense um at altitude I really don’t worry about that like I probably should worry a little more than I do but um I think these teams are are plenty finded um it would like it would be an over or nothing for me the fact that like I was State’s going to be able to force Colorado into playing either transition or ugly basketball and if Colorado wants a chance I think transition is probably that answer so an over I mean like 10 seems perfect um five gun to head I would probably lean towards Iowa State just being able to force like these late game situations Colorado I just don’t think it’s too deep of a team like the teams that can beat Iowa State we saw Auburn it even took Auburn like an entire second half to do like you have to have three ball handlers two Shooters like uh you have to have a big man to be able to facilitate through that press Iowa State’s good at what they do I don’t think Colorado is good enough to stop it Iowa State should look pretty dangerous in this conference like a team like Kansas makes sense to be able to kind of break through this press but a Colorado or any tier team I’m not sure they’re going to have any success doing so again in that first match up for whatever it’s worth Colorado 18 turnovers to your point Corby and I think Jeff you were bringing that up too in the game with Iowa state that they lost this one tonight is in Boulder at the CU Event Center if Monday night football’s a little ah with the Lions and the 49ers check it out on CBS Sports Network table for Iowa State and Colorado again the first game was a neutral floor non-con game this is a conference game with Colorado now in the Big 12 tonight [Music]
