early days for amarim and he’s not going to affect wholesale changes in in just a few matches but is the the bigger concern for Manchester United fans at the moment about what’s happening off the field where it felt as though finally after a long time there was actually a bit of optimism and and that feels like it’s it’s disappearing yeah I was encouraged about um obviously Dan Ashworth and others coming into the club because I’ve been crying out for change at the top for a long time obviously it was a massive shock last weekend when that Dan asworth news came through and they say obviously there’s a difference opinions but where have those difference of opinions come is it the choice of the manager is it is it the recruitment in the summer is it the Eric tenh hard decision to stay I mean that transfer window I was quite sort of I thought it was quite a smooth transfer window for United they got the players in quite quickly and I was enthused but when you look at actually the players performances that have come in over this last few months it’s now looking as bad a transfer window at the moment it’s looking highly questionable shall we say those players have got a lot to do so yeah there are things that are not going that well off the pitch there are things that are taking time to bed in but look Manchester United breaking every record in the wrong direction at this moment in time and you talk the reason I don’t have much optimism here today is just through the fact that they concede goals from set pieces they don’t win games from behind and they lose big games away from home on a regular basis they’re the signs of a team that are really struggling with the mentality and performance levels they’re the three worst things you can look at so for me you know I’m I can hope but the reality of it is even though City are in a bad form I think the way in which they still play football will cause problems for United can I just ask you about the the the the pressure playing for Man United obviously it’s it’s a massive club and when you sign players you always talk about can they deal with the pressure what is the pressure like playing for such a big Club it’s probably wrong to put just put it on the players who’ve signed in the last few months because I said before that this has been a graveyard for players and managers for 10 years so you’re you can be enthused about augar coming in you can be enthused about xery or delit or any of the other players that have come in or Di Maria going back five six seven years and Alexis Sanchez and all those players that they came through the door and you think okay they’ll do a good job for the club and they’ve ended up really struggling only really Bruno and there might be one or two more only really Bruno in the last 10 years has hit a level that maybe has exceeded expectation and am’s finding that in his first few weeks he’s finding that it’s not just a quick answer you know he came in he was drunk with enthusiasm we loved the way in which he brought energy but I think he sobered up pretty quickly on the side of the pitch watching these players play but but your point has been in in the past that the reason successive managers have struggled the reason that successive signings have have come into the Squadron and struggled is because of the way that the club is is structured that that’s had a knock on effect throughout the throughout the whole of of Manchester United so if they don’t have this right and it looks like you say as as indecision although potentially you could say they haven’t allowed things to drift and they’ve just drawn a line under it and moved on but if that’s that’s still happening can you understand why there’s been the disqui amongst Manchester United fans yeah I mean look they are they are being decisive I mean they brought obviously a sporting director in and he’s obviously been sack which is not ideal at all in fact it’s deeply worrying however for nine years Ed Woodward ran the club and didn’t have a sporting director at all I mean who was making the decisions and go back to the Jose Mourinho transfer window and he was turned down players from Bayern Munich and who’s turned him down who who actually is making these decisions at the football club so there was nothing in place at all for eight nine years so it was actually not a m not it was obvious why Manchester United weren’t succeeding with Jason wil cot’s coming in Omar barard Dan Ashworth and others you think okay at least there are competent people who we know have had a good track record other clubs coming into the club obviously it’s not quite worked out for Dan Ashworth which is still to me quite bizarre and mystifying a week later um but at least there are sporting people in the club there weren’t for the like the previous 10 years it was it was just strange well what have you made of of all of this because there’s been a lot of talk yes about the players but that’s been going on for for a long time but with the new owners coming in there were the redundancies and then there were the removal of the the concession tickets and then there was the the raising of the of the the lowest ticket prices and then there’s this situation with with Dan Ashworth what have you made of it all well obviously it’s not good it’s not been good news over the last few months and the last few years off the field stuff that we’re trying to trying to figure out ourselves and obviously new people are in last few months it was obviously Feelgood factor and they maybe need a little bit more time I’m guessing morality the club is not great when the first team out winning week in week out does affect people and people in the background and as you said if they’re making decisions cutting people’s whatever bonuses or whatever it might be that that affects everybody so I think the situations at man united certainly aren’t great but I also think that the players do have a responsibility to try and try and lift the club and it’s amazing what a few football results can give everyone a lift but what we’ve seen over the last few months the level of performance with man united has been so poor and obviously we just looked at the league table there and I’m always scratching my head looking at the league I it is hard to believe how bad they are but you still have to find something you have to find a spark you have to find something from within the dressing room and we can make excuses for this team all day long about what’s going on off the field and recruitment but you have to find something you have to create something in a dress room a spark but how do you do that I go back to it whatever the quality might be as question marks over a lot of it I I go back to it I repeat myself every bloody week on this on these programs the reason you play the football whether you’re playing in front of 50,000 or 60,000 if one man and his dog you have to have some sort of pride in your performance whether it be how much you run quality when you get the ball you mentioned there Man City and United over last we one certainly quite easy to play against that’s the biggest instruct you can have as a footballer that people find it easy to play against you man united have to turn up to three whatever whatever’s against them and show some fight some Spirit desire to defend a corner desire not to give that free kicks away players to close people down like Bruno we mentioned Bruno about his quality he’s got to do more off the pitch he’s got to lead properly we got to find people like rash for to create something the madness is we keep looking at certain characters man united player they don’t turn up but we still believe maybe next week time’s running off for a lot of these players we’ve got to see it today in a derby match I think it’s a great day for Man United today I really do I think it’s an opportunity for all us sitting here doubt in Man United and we’ll question them week and week out to turn up at least today and give man United’s fans something to Che about just for today the big picture huge problems but focus on today and beat your city
