on champen he goes to Levert Carrington foul Around the Horn Garland for three hey so the Cleveland Cavaliers beat the Wizards again for what feels like the 12th time this season it was a boring game very low energy from both the players and fans the Cavs let get close late in the fourth but games like this really you’re just looking to tally up a w on the win total and this is exactly what the Cavs did this was the game Max shws was supposed to return it didn’t happen but with Mo out the Cavs really do need to add another spark moving forward and that is where all the trade rumors come in I do definitely think the Cavs need to be careful I truly believe that Kobe Alman isn’t going to do anything stupid the team is 22 and four right now I’ve seen the Kyle kozma rumors but I want to be super realistic and talk about some of the things that actually could happen because the Cavs don’t have a lot of trade Capital that’s just how it is and I don’t think they’re going to split up guys and risk damaging the locker room chemistry but there are a few small moves that definitely are possible over the next few months because even though the Cavs are still red hot it’s definitely safe to say they are not playing at the same level as the first 3 weeks of the season but again they’re still winning and it’s tough to keep that same fight and tenacity throughout 82 games especially as guys get banged up so I really just want to talk about some of the rumors I want to recap the last few games of Cavs basketball because I did lose to the Heat and so much more but first let me introduce Wizards because the Cavs actually for once had some time off Evan Moy was still out for this one hopefully he comes back soon because it’s really starting to become obvious what his impact is on this team because Jared Allen just isn’t mobbly and that’s a fact and those threes Evans been hitting really is just changed the entire Dynamic of what this team can be the final score of the game was 115 to 105 there were a few anxious moments down the stretch it never felt like the Cavs were in danger of losing but I just didn’t like the score Darius Garland led the way with 25 points and he also dished out eight assists on top of that and had two big steals Donovan Mitchell had 20 points with six rebounds and six assists that was actually a big thing in this game both Don and Darius combined for 11 rebounds those are numbers us need when one of the bigs are out Donovan was inefficient but I mean it happened and he made enough Big Shots when he had to Jared Allen had another double double with 21 points and 11 rebounds and defensively he also had a steal and a block but I did not like how both the four and the five on the other side had over 20 points the role players for Cleveland were huge in this one too aoro had 13 points and hit a couple of big momentum changing shots and then Nang had 10 and lever had a big 14 Off the Bench along with five rebounds and six assists just for from the eye test Levert might have been the most valuable player on the court in this game especially closing out quarters and then going back to that Heat game that the Cavs lost on Sunday night that was just another low energy game I honestly felt like that loss was coming it was a backtack in Miami you already know what NBA players do in Miami the night before games it was just not a good situation to be in and the Cavs just couldn’t make shots they were ice cold so that leads me to the trade rumors because I think it’s obvious if the Cavs do make a trade what type of player they are looking for they need a wing with more size that can playmake and shoot or a backup center for when Moy or Allen are out because we saw Double T put in a lot of work yesterday I love Dean Wade I love Levert aoro is usually solid as well but all three of them are pretty inconsistent and sometimes not reliable to knock down a wide open 3 especially in those closed games when the offense is stagnant I’ve seen Larry Nance Jr a lot I personally think it would be a perfect fit but again contract wise it is complicated to make even a move like this happen again I know the Cavs aren’t in any hurry to make a move like this happen they currently are sitting with the League’s best record it’s not like they have to make a trade to fix a problem but they know the areas they could use some work in and in a seven game series in the actual playoffs opposing teams are going to try to pick apart whatever the weakness may be so Kobe alen isn’t going to be dumb and force something to happen but I would honestly be shocked if the roster remains 100% exactly the same by the time the deadline passes one player I’ve seen a lot of people poking around at is Jimmy Butler but I want to shut that down immediately the Cavs do not want Jimmy Butler expensive contract weird personality I don’t think he fits with what the Cavs are doing at all I think kuzma is the ideal fit but I know a lot of Cleveland fans have mixed opinions on him again he’s one of those guys with an interesting personality but as much as I love aoro and lebert I think they fit The Vibes of this team but in the playoffs who do you want going head-to-head with Tatum a cororo or a guy like kozma I think the answer is clear anyways beyond that with the NBA cup still going on the Cavs have two or three more easy wins coming ahead of them if they lock in and handle business all of a sudden we could be looking at a team that is 25 or 26 and four through the first 30 games of the season they are on Pace to have over 65 wins and this really could be one of the best seasons the franchise has ever seen But the thing I am so interested in is the playoffs because this is the first time where it feels like this team is deep through the bench obviously staying healthy is a big factor but when strews comes back and yang doesn’t have as big of a role I think the rotation will be pretty much set I think people have really forgotten the impact that stru brings I’m not saying he changes the trajectory of anything but he was one of the main reasons why the Cavs beat the Magic in that game seven after being down by a lot early on you can argue that streu is the reason the core four was kept together if they lost to the magic again in the first round some guys could have gotten traded so him coming back playing good defense and occasionally providing those hot streaks I think it’s going to add another element to the Cav’s bench outside of lbert and Ty Jerome but yeah the Cavs are in a really good spot right now they’ve just Contin to win no matter who they’ve been playing and Evan Mo man I’m so excited with what I’ve seen from him as of late that Hornets game was just nuts 40 points even though he’s not super consistent yet just seeing that he has that in him immediately makes me think Giannis as he adds even more muscle and gains confidence over the next few years it’s so funny how when he signed that massive extension people in the social media comments were making fun of it but now we are starting to see why the investment was well worth it I’m fully on the mo hype train I think he’s a later uh apparently someone linking Kyle kozma potentially to the Cavs I had not heard that trade rumor I don’t know how the Cavs are getting to a Kyle kosma trade I’d have to go look at that but um I don’t think that really helps them although that is size on the perimeter but they need size who can defend and that’s not really what kozma is doing at this point in his career the Cavs have very little draft assets to trade because they owe so much to the Jazz they are a a hair into the luxury tax I would be very tempted if I were the Cavs to get out of the luxury tax
