accidentally stepping on the foot of a Raptor fan cour side that’s happened a couple times with Jaylen right he like [ __ ] bro like get that ankle insurance but brunon would eventually return finish the game with 20 points 11 assists on S for 13 shooting in 35 minutes k bries had efficient 23 points on 9 for 14 shooting including five for eight from three adding on to a hot stretch of games he’s been on recently and showing love to the Dominican the big Bodega Carl Anthony towns returned to the lineup after missing the previous game with a sore right knee he showed out once again dropping 24 points 15 boards and six assists on seven for 13 shooting and with the Knicks holding a two-point lead in the game on the line hit this big three with 6 seconds remaining that had him doing every classic Nick s known demand uh mellow three to the Dome followed by the classic John Stark showing the New York Jersey on his jersey to the road fans uh cat could also be seen telling someone in the turned up so cast averaging 25.1 points a career high 13.3 rebounds 3 one assisted season while shooting a career-high 45% from deep and his 20 double doubles are the second most in the league behind sabonis so got to ask you has C played like the best big in the East besides Giannis so far this season yeah so number two in East number two big man in Adam Silver’s Eastern Conference 2513 to it’s after being dubbed the King of New York for leading the Knicks to a second place finish in the East and making his first All-Star in all NBA teams last season Brunson took a pay cut this summer to help the Knicks build a championship level roster has sacrificed his own stats and potential individual accolades for the good of the team this season so after averaging 29 seven and four rebounds last season Brunson averaging 25 career high eight assists three rebounds so far this season he’s taking four less shots per game but shooting a career high 43% from Deep so how much credit does Jaylen Brunton deserved for sacrificing his own individual numbers for the good of the team what yeah go ahead Gil is he sacrificing I heard I heard everything you said but he averaging eight assists but majority of that was without Randle what was he shooting when Randle was there oh let me pull it up you know so that’s yeah but he is a assist though so huh he is average 8 assist so that’s a career high so you want to see with Julius Randle last what he was averaging with Julius Randle cuz you know if there was another player there it seems like he does you know he he he will defer but I’m just saying coming off of a second Team all NBA season trajectory or scoring should be going this way it’s my team I run he still can make it doing this though that’s selfish that’s a selfish player doing that yeah so he can still he still can make second team averaging 25 and8 and so with round with round 256 season so two more assists their so last season it was 27 seven assists four rebounds and 44 games so okay so yeah so yeah my so two less point so he still can make all NBA doing this so he is all NBA averaging 25 and8 absolutely yeah absolutely so now this but that’s that’s the point of when your team gets better your numbers are supposed to go down absolutely you have to fact like people don’t factor that in like if I’m averaging 35 and by myself and then you add two Brunson 17.3 cat 16.8 uh Mel bridg is close to 15 OG and anobi close to 14 on that’s but it seemed like you know it’s a balanced team yeah it’s dope that they’re all rocking and rolling with each other I mean they’re going to be they’re going to be dangerous at the end because you see Mel is like hitting the shots now especially from the D ball so um I did pick them they should I mean they should be all right like really like it’s just matchups when they get to the playoffs so if they’re clicking at the right time they can upset anybody as you guys they going to expose the matchups like whoever it is cuz shot distribution is it’s there for a guy to get it going right and any given day we know what c going to do we know what jayen going to do but the way them guys getting 12 a night 13 a night 14 a night like that’s they can get it going and them that can turn into the 17 18 19 going 15 for 17 and like that so it’s you talking about like like even in like a a let’s say like a grinded out playoff series you know you have like a Mel Bridges who’s you know third option he can [ __ ] around take over the series because you know he’s a equalizer so you brought Mel Brides talk about Mel Bridges a little bit Yeah so in five December games Mel Bridges averaging 22 points on 56% shooting from the field 45% from three looking more like the player the Knicks acquired from Brooklyn this off season so G what changes for the Knicks when Bridges is a weapon offensively nothing nothing changes when you look at his shots he you know he took good shots they just wasn’t going in um you know he’s just glad he stayed confident you know in his uh his ability it’s only going to improve there moving forward do you think that you know we saw some issues with the shot mechanics uh before season preseason do you think that’s improving is that behind them is going no it’s it’s going to go it’s going to be a up and down you know season for it right it’s you know beginning of the Season kind of looked good then it fell off now it’s back to good you know there’s going to be you know five 10 games where it looks bad again right and is just trying to make that shot consistent exchanged some trash talk with Steph Curry what the O Steph m told him right back here’s my favorite part though Shut Up N word uh yeah the Warriors got their get back on Sunday uh Ant-Man learned a Thursday and a win against the Rockets with both Steph and Draymond out helping the Warriors snap their five-game losing streak extend their winning streak against the Rockets to 15 games so on F Friday Dre Dron was back in action but came off the bench for the first time this season as kaminga got the start after that game Dre was asked about not starting and had this response coach just called and asked he said it’s it’s something he was thinking about um and he wanted to know if I was okay with it of course I’m okay with it uh you know it’s I have been one of JK’s biggest fans since he’s been here um and so if he has an opportunity to start you can’t be hypocritical and they’re like yo we want him to start but it’ll be for you and you can’t be like ah it’s not for me like that don’t work like I’m a fan of his I want to see him do well so if his opportunity uh goes through me then it is what it is you know that’s his opportunity and he earned the opportunity I am a product of my vet what being willing to take a backseat for me so you got to give back what what what came to you that’s that’s what this is about I mean you turn so uh both Dre kaminga started on Sunday and the win is curwin with a small lineup but what’s your reaction to Draymond saying he’s willing to come off the bench for kaminga to start no that’s big and what the last part of it um that’s how he got his opportunity right so for him not to be for him not to forget that cuz we can all get jaded saying he four championships in and made a lot of money U Been a starter for for for it all right we could all get jaded in those moments and and get lost in it so now for him to be aware that and to buy into to it no that says a lot man and for him to yeah just this is what being a leader is about mhm right you can be vocal you can be all those other things leader conversation but this is what a leader is about 100% and we’ve never questioned what that about I I never have I’ve never questioned draymond’s leadership right never whatever he was had going on no matter what was all the Antics the fights the choke whatever it is I’ve never questioned his leadership yep so this is prime example of that maybe some missteps along the way but instrumental building the dynasty yeah exactly and he plays with emotion so at times do we think he could have controled absolutely but that’s why he is fortime Champion that’s why he is where he is in his career he’s gotten the best out of that ability he’s not the best shooter not the best drib not the best but four time champion and he’s been a huge part of that so yeah I I think he’s a great leader yeah to your point we had this conversation yesterday I think draymond’s a great leader and for him to say I would be hypocritical if I wasn’t like yeah he can start for me and to me I think at the end of the day it it should be about winning and if putting kaminga in the starting lineup and bringing Dre Off the Bench is going to put you in a better position to win games then I say great do it but I also think bringing Dre Off the Bench gives Golden State a different look it gives them something that maybe they didn’t have before bringing someone else Off the Bench so kudos to Dre I uh yeah that’s definitely a great example of leadership it was just for one game ability to Second yeah just for one game obviously they opted to go with a I think an analytic driven lineup in that that second game against the Wolves I think they’re analytics guy went to cerr and said this this lineup with gp2 starting and Dre and kaming all starting would would make the most sense but uh I think Steph had this to say about kaminga get the start over DRM said that experimental phase of trying to unlock new looks new go-to sets put the ball in his hands it’s time for that for sure so we had talked about kaminga obviously not agreeing to an extension I think those numbers versus what he wanted versus what the Warriors off offering different Gil you’ve been very vocal in you know they’re going they’re going to try and Strongarm you to get you to sign that deal one way or the other since he’s a restrictive free agent but do you like to see that move especially with Dre as a vet leader on that Squad willing to sacrifice already got his bag obviously sign that fore deal it’s going to be a contradiction right um kaminga is a score draymond’s a facilitator so when the starting lineup starts off slow it’s going to be because it’s it’s still a it’s everybody thrives you know the staff and everybody thrives off of how Draymond plays right he sacrifices his scoring for everyone else um so when the starting five is not playing well the only look will be kaminga to remove and bring him back off the bench because he’s he’s focused on scoring um so I don’t see it lasting because if they lose three four in a row and they’re starting off bad they’re going to look at him like it’s his fault no matter how good he’s playing um it’s been one game the one game that they did play they lost y um so they don’t really have any real measurable on it um the the game he did take over they wasn’t there against the Rocks when he had that that 33 p and I’m pretty sure after that 33 he like oh [ __ ] you know this is who he is let’s start him and then they end up losing that game yeah I think he had like 13 in that first loss and was six for S you know 6 17 Draymond came off the bench 50% 10 points six assists right he was he led the team in assist coming off the bench yeah and then you put them together on Sunday so it’s one of those things where you can see him you can see Kur backtracking on on this move and it’s experimental for a couple games and then he probably try to figure out what his lineup is so I’ll add another interesting element and layer uh to the kaminga situation reports the Warriors are interested in bringing in another star player to pair with Steph uh for that to happen it would likely mean kaminga being included in the trade does it feel like the Warriors are trying to maximize kinga’s trade value they had him on the bench early in the season now he’s going on St for four straight games trying to Showcase him a little bit perhaps that happens I’m saying have you guys seen that happen on a team before if they’re really thinking about for yeah you want people to see what he can what he can do D have you seen that that go downward oh no that I mean yeah of course like if you’re trying to trade somebody you know when we see those random dudes out there like Dam he a he a even coming off the bench he got 35 minutes got 20 points like damn they should start him more off and then he’s traded the next day right so um they want to you know they show people that you’re in shape not even shape you you’re not hurt you can play um who who are they thinking about trading that’s they’re not they haven’t specified who they would get rid of they’re just saying that they want to bring in a star potentially to pair with Steph for what two years what I mean what is what is the goal here one two years trying to get another championship yeah in the next one two years yes or at least give the appearance that they are assembling a roster that is capable of doing I that’s what I’m saying unless you’re trying to win it like you literally like I I want to win a championship like to give him his fifth uh makes sense other than that I don’t I don’t know why I’m appearing to try to win one if I don’t need to four is good enough yeah like if he’s 33 then yeah he’s 35 35 turning 36 he’s 36 uh will be turning 37 March 14th 2025 if that is the case just and I guess the question is should the Warriors still prioritizing keeping Steph happy it ain’t about keeping him happy it’s athlete of the year um I don’t think I’m surprised I I’m curious to know who the other candidates were but the fact that that’s the very first WNBA player to ever win Time Magazine athlete of the year it’s pretty special and my question is like like the criteria is it based off of her performance on the court which she had a great year or is it more about the impact that she had on the game this season I’m sure I mix of both obviously WNBA saw record viewership numbers across the board uh her team’s played in a lot of those games no I think it’s it’s great not just for her I think it’s great for the league yeah right like everybody talked about the recognition that she brought to the this season so for her to be Time Magazine athlete of the year I think it’s it’s really great for the league so in the time article Clark had a strong quote acknowledging her privilege uh here’s what she said I want to say I’ve earned every single thing but as a white person there is privilege a lot of those players in the league that have been really good have been black players this league has kind of been built on them the more we can appreciate that highlight that talk about that and then you continue to have Brands and companies invest in those players that have made this league incredible I think it’s very important I have to continue to try to change that the more we can Elevate black women that’s going to be a beautiful thing so yeah when you hear klin say that CU Kaylin obviously in the media been very you know she has a great marketing team yeah I’m not I’m not I’m just hoping standpoint I think it’s really good because not only are you going to have more teams more players more jobs more roster spots you know for players there’s also opportunity for just more jobs for coaches and everything else um you know the other side of it is are they expanding to quickly or too fast I don’t know yeah so 44 games I believe next season the finals will be seven game series and the reason why I say I don’t know is because I think people are finally like like they’re talking about it they’re excited about it you got sponsors who want to be a part of it you just just they just
