leave your hands up I’ll try and get as many questions as possible we’ll have Coach the begin with his opening statement and we’ll take questions after that proud of the guys today um staff and everyone uh just uh putting a good week of work in and uh I could really feel it uh Tuesday morning just I thought it was a great practice and I told the guys downstairs you know that it uh that was something that felt of and got us off to a pretty good start Wednesday was the same thing um you know and it led to you know day where uh we’re out there and and playing hard and doing our thing and um you know just probably the resiliency at times that we have whether it’s week to week uh you know even within a game um you know but our just our Focus I think was on the right things all week long focusing on this game focusing on what we can control and U you know that’s what I that’s what I share with them downstairs uh I do want to say one thing um we’re undefeated at home and uh that’s a big part to do with our fan base uh just you know out there right at the very end and just the energy in the stadium um you know today just all day from from the time we pull up and do the walk to the very end and that’s been every single week uh there is definitely a home field advantage that we feel um when we’re here and uh want to give a lot of thanks to the fans uh for for being here today uh for being here with us all season long so um fun night for our guys winning the Iron Bowl it’s a big deal as everyone knows and uh you know for us um get did the things we needed to do to put ourselves in a chance to win start the back left Nick K uh as far as your uh I me I know you just came off the field but what would be your pitch as to why your team should be in the college footall playoff uh well I think you know everyone’s aware of our schedule and I I don’t know the exact stats but I know we beat four top 25 teams throughout the year and I don’t know how many if anyone’s done that um and so you know when you talk about the schedule and what it what it is week to week um you know it’s it’s it’s just a grind and you know having to come back every week uh that’s really really the only conference that has to do that is ours and um you know that’s that’s what i’ would say and you know we won five of our last six and so uh you know playing playing some physical football um think we’ve to uh excel in that area um with what the game’s all about so you know I think those are two you know pretty big deals uh we beat some high quality teams teams that are still you know out there I believe uh playing some good ball themselves and um you know then just winning five the last six the back half of the Season go to the back ride Colin hey k um you we kind of saw like Jaylen you know going around the perimeter kind of having his moment uh L I’m just curious from your perspective looking at the impact that jayleno has on has had on your first year and kind of you seen him kind of s in that moment what has he been like to you and both on the field off the field what has he been yeah just you know we talk about resiliency for our team I think that’s um you know that’s that’s a good word to use for him um you know it’s hard being the quarterback of any football team I think it’s it’s uh hard being a quarterback of a team that you know in a program that expects to win every game and um the ball’s in his hands a lot right uh we we throw with him I I think he was you know probably 70% or so um 18 for 24 you know and uh then obviously running the football uh that’s not just tonight that’s you know a lot of what uh he brings to the table and we um you know he facilitates a lot of uh a lot of moving Parts you know and um you know you can had some conversions I know there’s always a play or two he always want back but um he just continues to stay the course I thought you know him coming back after a couple plays there in the fourth quarter and making some big third down throws you know uh guys helping make plays too you know and I thought throughout the course of the game um even the ones that were incomplete I thought he had some you know put him in a pretty good spot and so was just really proud of the way he uh played tonight and uh you know continue to be resilient contined to just stay the course um you know and help us win the football game front la Tony yeah with this win you equaled the uh School record for most wins by a first year coach just what does that mean to you and then also can you kind of reflect back on what this season’s been like for you as well yeah I mean I guess this one’s this is it’s always about the team it’s always any wins I get are always about the team and the staff and everything we do and so um you know there’s more that I wish we would have had you know that’s the way I look at it but um you know from a from a season standpoint um highs and lows you know uh that’s that’s a part of any program Championship programs go through the same thing uh each and every each and every year you know and uh I guess again I go back to the gr I just care about these guys you know and I think we’ve really grown closer together the last half of the Season uh as a team uh the staff and players just really connected um a love for each other that I think really is has grown here the last uh you know three four five games U I think the tough the hard times um bring you closer and you can see the response and you know I wish everyone could see you be in that Locker right now and it’s not this crazy party going on downstairs it’s it’s a lot just love and care for each other and smiles and and um you know that’s what it’s all about you know coming together each and every week uh the ups and downs so um yeah it’s you know been a been a a great ride in a lot of ways um obviously there’s times when you know you’d love to have few things go a little bit better let go to the front right now to Charlie yeah hey coach um you guys lean on Jam in the Run game I think he had a career 28 carries and also Germany was tring to 10 times over 100 yards what those guys mean for you guys offens yeah there’s a lot of guys that are always critical to our success and you know you just you just trust those guys I think they’ve been super consistent they get themselves ready to play and and uh you know they’re going to they’re going to fight uh and and battle for themselves but our team first and foremost um there was some hard yards for for all those guys and you asked about jam and that that was certainly the case till the very end um I thought you know Jerm coming up with some of those big third down catches uh you know he’s he’s just steady you know in that way and been been that way all year as well staying on the right side we go to Katie we saw Maliki make some big plays big hits tonight just kind of how did he as a f year in kind of set the tone for the physicality on defense tonight yeah he has he he carried us uh through some I mean tonight’s big but I think it just represents uh what he is U you know all season long and he when guys were in and out or weeks when we were kind of up against it maybe with some some dings and uh rotation wasn’t always consistent with with some of the play around him with injuries or um guys just working through stuff uh you know he just contined to stay course and U you know tonight um you know love to seeing him love seeing him flying around uh you know his energy in a positive way you know uh being something that everyone feeds off of and so um he’s he loves this he loves this place uh you know more than I think uh anyone could ever imagine and we see every day in practice and it’s great when it carries over to the game and you can see it as well got time for a few more questions we’ll start with Chase on the left what did you make the Skirmish on the Auburn sideline and how that ended up being a personal foul on Alabama yeah I mean I don’t I I saw a first part of it and I thought you know I understand there was a piece where we didn’t handle it probably as well as we needed to um and so you know I don’t want to get into too much uh other than that I know you know there was felt like there was something that prompted it but that’s that’s about all I know and um you know it was on the other sideline so you can’t see a lot but uh certainly one of those things that got him a little bit of momentum with those yards and he got after that but um you know it’s an emotional game um you know you put it all year and it builds up to this and and the game itself and back and forth and uh a lot of momentum swings and um you know you know it’s not not okay but you know understand where the emotions were on both sides so a lot of people over there so it’s hard for me to really tell what’s going on go Ste keep on the left side coach ever since got into the line from the secondary we’ just seen a growth from bray Hub what does he bring to the secondary that makes everybody just jail we around he he he was you know just waiting for his opportunity and while he was waiting he was getting ready uh this season and that’s that’s a credit to him and uh there’s I think a lesson that a lot of players that are young and I know you know not you know freshman or anything like that but guys who are waiting for their time that I think can really take from from what he did this year and um you know he’s he’s a guy that again plays with passion um but he’s a really he player and then uh you know continue to develop the physical tools each and every week and the confidence and uh you know we have belief in it because we know he cares so much he’s really smart um he he sees things and every snap he’s playing uh he’s getting better and better uh we’re going to finish up with Emily in the middle there coach what factors allowed Jaylen to be so productive with his legs and how was your first iron B did it live up to the hype yeah it lived up to the hype but it definitely did um yeah with it you know he he found his times to go make plays and uh you know again sometimes it was uh when we drop back drop you know we dro the back um but uh you know he didn’t force it but when the times came um you know he can go make those plays and you know I thought he he did a good job of trying to you know put his head down at times and then you know he loves using his get in the corner and so you know when when he’s doing those type of things we become really hard to defend and so I was proud of the way he he executed a lot of uh lot of just both the run and the pass so he made us tough to defend a lot of times today so we again I thought he threw the ball extremely well and um you know great completion percentage uh you know even some more that we probably left out their own football field thanks you real time
