not the way kin dor envisioned his first season in Tuscaloosa he’s at the podium I think stepping back I just felt like early in the game you know there was different things I mean drops just Flatout drops balls we lost in the lights uh just different uncharacteristic things weird things that happened and you know I thought he was actually putting the ball where he needed to um we just needed to help him out a little bit uh the screen pass uh they jump it you know and you you have to assume the that those blocks are going to happen and you’re reading a different Defender but then there’s the the six that goes the other way you know and um you know I don’t know if he you know just didn’t see him or predetermined things um but you know there’s still a lot of game left and I felt like a lot of things he was doing he was fighting and battling and uh doing a lot of things well for our football team uh and you know we just all needed to be a little better um so you know I thought he kept battling you know I looked looked in his eyes and I think he’s come a long ways uh all season long and just the way he he wants to go out there and keep leading the team and you know the guys kept fighting for him and so that’s just pretty much what I shared with him just uh you know have no regrets go out there and keep swinging come backr Tony right here coach you have a lot of players in this locker room that haven’t been in this position before what do you tell them and how do you kind of keep things together uh you know heading into the iron ball and yeah I mean that’s the commitment we make to each other when we first when we come in here you know when you sign up to to to play for Alabama um you make that commitment to each other and the Brotherhood and you know there’s no there’s nothing in that room right now that says that there’s anyone saying it’s someone else that needs to be better it’s uh it’s it’s win and lose as a team and um you know we’re we made that commitment also not just towards for each other but that we’re going to finish you know and we’re going to finish every everything we do um you know and that uh it’s a big game next week and you know so we got to regroup um stick together uh the right things are said in there by the guys uh as much as they’re hurting and you know just keep playing and and uh you know have pride in who we are and finish finish the job stay on the back row Callin do you have an idea what I guess I don’t it’s going to be a lower uh lower extremity injury you know Contin we’ll evaluate you know further here when to get back go ahead chase the running game coach was was 30 for 70 did you see the offensive line struggle or something else that led to that well I think there’s yeah I mean I have a lot of confidence in what we can do running the football um but I also think you got to credit a little bit of who they are and what they do defensively we knew it would be a physical game um you know and you know just uh some times where we got to stay on blocks maintain blocks uh you know in the second half again theame game gets away from you um some of the things that we just weren’t quite as clean on maybe in the first half uh and you want to be better at uh you’re not able to call uh and and then you know the penalties there in the fourth quarter gets you behind the sticks as well so you know becomes a pass Happy game uh you know to try to catch up and and lengthen the game to try to give yourself a chance to win but you know uh you know yeah we didn’t run it as well as we would have hoped uh early in the game uh you know and it’s I think it’s a little bit of both I think usually what I’ve seen from us is that the two or three yard gains become four or five and and some game Breakers um and we just never got to those game Breakers because we went didn’t get a chance to really you know hammer away you know enough um you know with the normal down of distances and the the normal flow of a game last two questions go ahead Eric on the far right here coach coach I want to ask you about Jackson Arnold’s quarterback run game and also zavier Robinson the way he was able to just be a physical Runner tonight yeah I mean that was the that was the story for them you know was those guys uh you know inside outside different ways uh you know um just moving the chains and then you know hitting the explosives uh that uh you know that they had and so um you know there’s there seemed like they were always falling forward you know uh and again like like you said there’s there’s explosive plays that they had so you you know got to credit to the toughness that that they had I think he carried it over 20 times in the game both of them right around that so um you know credit to those guys on staying with their game plan um doing what they needed to do to win let’s go a last question right here coach you mentioned the things that they did to make things tough what were some of those specifics with Jaylen and and gu what made life hard for him and you guys tonight well I I go back again I mean kind of I felt like there were some things that are pretty easy that we just that didn’t happen for us too you know just uh short little Concepts that you know would have moved the chains uh easy throws and catches um you know some drops early uh that take you off the field uh some third down conversions that we missed on uh an explosive play where you know again the ball we can’t find it you know and uh those were some of the momentum things that early in the game uh kind of took the wind out of our sales a little bit put them on the field uh they they kind of start turning the the yards on the ground wining the time of possession there and just you know we couldn’t get over the hump tonight and that’s that’s the unfortunate thing all right thank you thank you just want to remind you there were growing pains in Nick sabin’s first season in Tuscaloosa in 2007 he went seven- six he led him to the Independence Bowl so kayin deor first season I get it he took Washington to the national championship last year and you’re expecting him to get into the playoff right with 12 teams I get that I get that expectation you know but you know what you lose a legendary head coach in Nick San it’s not just going to be boom we’re back in the playoff boom we’re GNA win another National Championship it takes time right sometimes it just does uh losing outside of Tuscaloosa that has been really one of the storylines for the tide this season 6-0 at home at Brian Denny Stadium at nickv field 2 and3 away from Tuscaloosa this season they’ve got look they’ve got the Iron Bowl next week that’s still something to play for because that rivalry is one of the best rivalries in all of sports so you know that game’s bound to be boners as it was last year
