because they got to stay on the road this time they’re going to Columbia to play Missouri border War Connor what are you looking for out of this game Kansas needs a comeback like they they I understand kraton’s a tough place to play people are saying that kraton is where number one teams go to die um Kansas has the win over Duke but there were things in that kraton game that bugged me about Kansas uh primarily the fact that we went into that game saying there is a clear blueprint to stop kraton’s offense and Kansas used none of that like they tried to go one-on-one against caul brener with Hunter Dickinson which allowed everyone else on the floor to kind of get into a real offensive flow um and uh like I just I think that that kraton game for Kansas unlocked or opened our eyes to the fact Kansas doesn’t have that dude they don’t like Zeke Mayo might be the closest to that where like you can just give him the ball and say do you they were trying to make Dean Harris that in that kraton game so um this should be a win like I think there’s a big mismatch between these two teams I know it’s a Kemp pom has it as a as a pretty close spread but Missouri’s offense has been clicking their defense though should open up a lot for this Kansas team that like kraton kraton might not have the best defense but they have cul Brer and that’s that’s about as good as you’re going to get in terms of interior defense so Missouri doesn’t have that I think Hunter Dickinson needs a big bounceback game because of that uh that’s what I’m looking for from them for Missouri I think it’s just keep it competitive if you can keep it competitive you’re just looking to be competitive in the SEC like a good season for Missouri is Missouri for this year is Missouri on the bubble and I think you need to look like you belong on the same floor with Kansas if we’re going to believe that you can go through the gauntlet that is the SEC and come out as like a oh they they are a team that could compete with NCAA tournament teams I think that’s a good way to look at it because this this missou team they’re on a seven game winning streak haven’t lost since opening night against Memphis and played Memphis really well which is actually aged yeah it’s aged nicely with with the the tear that the Tigers have been on uh Memphis Tigers not Missouri Tigers and I there are things to like about this unit I mean they’re getting really good production out Tomar Bates it looks like he’s living up to some of his pedigree coming out of IMG former like high four-star recruit top 30 kid Caleb will Caleb Caleb Grill somehow is still in college and is shooting lights out so far this season he’s over 55% on the year as a whole mou checks a lot of boxes that make up those like the really nice Dennis Gates offense that we saw two years ago that being said why I still lean Kansas and Lead Kansas big in this one is going back to that very first season that Gates was at the helm a Missouri team that made the tournament they started out N9 and0 Conor do you remember their 10th game of the year it was this border War at home against Kansas a chance to say we are back Dennis Gates is here he’s fixing this the he’s rehabilitating the program I don’t know if you remember what happened but Kansas won that game by 30 they went on the road with a team that was much less talented than this one and they won by 30 uh I can’t shake that image even though Kansas um kind of stumbled has stumbled a little bit out of the gates this year and looked shaky at points still a 9 And1 basketball team um excuse me seven And1 and I I just think that they’re going to handle business against their their their little brother rival here um but yeah with with Kansas I just expect them when you look at what they did two years ago against the Missouri team that came in playing really good offense was trying to prove itself on a national stage and Kansas 30 piece them on the road um I I don’t really think Missouri has anybody to to counteract Hunter Dickson I mean maybe maybe you can squint and see Mark Mitchell coming over to help on doubles or providing a little bit of secondary Rim protection that’ll help but it’s just like if you double Hunter Dickinson he’s such a gifted passer out of the post he’s G to find an open shooter like if you’re if you double him you got to come over with some serious intention knowing what you’re trying to do um yeah coming aggressively trying to get a steal trying to disrupt the pass cuz if you don’t close out strong enough he’s he’s going to make you pay I guess like tomarrow Bates has some has decent length Mitchell has the athleticism to recover if he’s coming on a double but yeah as a whole I kind of wonder how they’re going to contain him and even if they they slow him down Kansas still has plenty of other perimeter options that can hurt you yeah and I think people are going to look at Missouri they they won seven in a row uh they were in Dire Straits at halim against cal um and then they took advantage of the fact that Cal has no real Rim protection like their rim protector is M Soko so uh they they outscored Cal by 21 points in that second half uh came on like a 34-13 run in the first 10 minutes and then they kind of evened out over the last 10 uh they won that game scoring 98 points while making three threes you’re not going to be able to score that much against Kansas with only three made threes because the interior for Kansas is so much tougher than Cal I think you’re going to have to get Tamar Bates like you said going from Deep um you’re just going to you’re going to have to figure this out Caleb Grill also didn’t play in that Cal game so like that’s I think part of the reason why they were so slow to start but it’s just it’s going to be tough for Missouri anyway you slice yep uh so yeah I I expect Kansas to win big to cover whatever the spread is make sure you check diers Pro to get their score projections
