Bradford City continue their 20242 efl trophy campaign with a clash in the round of 32 away to highly league on side Stockport County and in today’s video you’re going to find out how both teams have got on so far this season what my startling would be for this match if I was gram Alexander so my team Bradford City we currently sit 11th in the sky League two Table after 18 matches we’ve got six wins seven draws and five defeats scoring 23 goals and also conceding at 19 which leaves us on a positive four goal difference and 25 Five Points the last couple of matches then have been a draw a draw a draw a loss and a loss them last couple of matches then been a one all draw away at crew Alexandra without Andy Cooks go away to a team who were very strong at home and probably deserved to win even with 10 men for about 40 minutes in so so it was a really impressive performance especially in that first half the goal we concede again is just to point in another one from a second phase of a set play so that was frustrating to conc see just after halftime but to come away from that game with a point I don’t think many would complain with it in isolation but our previous running results before that weren’t very good before that game we had a oneall draw at home to Barrow AFC a really poor football match in all honesty obviously both sides managed to score Nea goal was really much quality they were pretty similar in terms of shots that were quite close and they were both unmarked inside the penalty area but it certainly didn’t feel like there was 15 shots in that game it was one of the most boring one all draws you will ever see we also had a 1-nil defeat away at marham in the FA Cup second second round obviously Neil burn was sent off and four minutes later the man who he committed the foul on to get sent off would then go and score the winner for Mar obviously bottom of the football league at the time and this was a really really frustrating result for us and obviously Moran went on to get Chelsea in the third round we also had a 1-nil defeat at home to rham United in the Football League trophy they got a really early goal and then just kind of sat in and defended we had loads of chances nearly 20 shots hit the woodwork three or four times as well did deserve to get something out of this game but again if Andy cook doesn’t go then Bradford City tend to fire a blank we are really struggling front a goal so far this season but it’s been something that’s been quite similar with Bradford City over the last five or six years really and we’ve still not really addressed it apart from andyo and then finally just before that one we had a one all draw away at Colchester I’m still so annoyed that we threw two extra points away in the 99th minute from a set play unmarked in the Box it was kind of frustrating to concede not only the time but the manner of the goal to see somebody be completely unmarked in the 99th minute was just a total lack of communication and concentration I think S Walker again should have done better with that one and I even think he should have done better with the Barrow goal that was scored on Tuesday as I’ve previously mentioned but again we didn’t really deserve much out of this game we only had one shot on Target and you’re not really going to win many football matches if you are only having one shot on target are you so we need to start creating more chances scoring more goals and fingers crossed we can turn our league for around but in the efl trophy we got to the semi-final last campaign can we go one better this year or maybe even two better better if we do compare it though to at Stockport County they currently sit fifth in the sky League One Table obviously they won the League 2 title last campaign and now they’re absolutely smashing it in the division above after 19 matches they’ve got nine wins six draws and four defeats scoring 31 goals which is the second most in the entire division no it’s the third most sorry I didn’t see Birmingham there with 32 but the third most goals in the entire division they have conceded 19 though which is the most inside the top five it does leave them on a positive 12 goal difference and 33 points last couple of matches then have been a win a loss a win a win and a win so they’re absolutely flying at this moment in time fair play to Stockport County there a bit of a rebuild in the summer we signed a few of their players and they’re absolutely flying I mean Lou Barry is the top goal scorer in the division I know that you can’t quite see that on the screen you can see him up here with a pitchure which looks about 12 in in terms of their last couple of matches then they had a very comfortable 2-nil win at home to X the city not the most convincing in terms of the way that the goals were scored in regards to an own goal and a Louis Barry penalty but in terms of the stats they battered them exitor created very little stockpot had loads of chances in that game and definitely did deserve to win they also had a two-nil defeat away at Birmingham I don’t think many teams will really go away at Birmingham pick up anything let alone all three points but they certainly didn’t go there and disgrace themselves yes they obviously conceded a lot of possession but they actually had more shots than the home side throughout that match obviously both teams had a similar of shots on target but when Birmingham spending 3040 million pound in League one in one single transfer window then you’re always going to really struggle to compete with that despite SP Stockport obviously spending a couple of million but that looks like nothing compared to the money that Birmingham did spend and credit to them you know they got the finances to do so so why should they not they also had a 3-1 win at home to Brackley I mean it was kind of a result that you would expect Stockport to beat a team like Brackley with all due respect I’m pretty sure the Callum Connelly own goal was from like the halfway line and Cora D was absolutely all over the place we saw stock part’s possession against Birmingham look at it against Brackley it goes to show that sometimes you do just have to conc possession but stockpot are a very well- drilled possession based side they got a very good manager in Dave chaler and I’m sure that this could have potentially been a bit of a banana skin they also had a 3-0 win away at Burton Burton is one of them grounds where again that could be a bit of a banana skin because it’s so small the fans are kind of on top of the pitch it’s not the easiest to play possession based football they could have gone there maybe lost one nil but they got the job done professional performance absolutely bed them comfortably deserved all three points and that is a reason as to why they Aron is set up in the playoffs and not letting games like this be turned into one all draws or losing one nil they they’re going there and the steamrolling teams and big credit to Stockport County did a video on this channel actually a couple months ago talking about Stockport start to the season would they be able to maintain it I thought even by now they would have maybe dropped off a little bit more than fifth place but they are definitely in with a shout of the playoffs for this season and then just before that one they had a 1-nil win at home to rexam again statistically created loads of chances had a decent amount of possession as well the opposition only had one shot shot on Target and we all know the money that rexim have spent over the last couple of Seasons Louis Barry obviously been sock partsman man so far this campaign I would be surprised if he plays in the AFL trophy I think it’s pretty confirmed now that he’s going to be returning back to Aston Villa in January and then going out on lunch in middlesburo is certainly what it seems like so it’ll be interesting to see how stockpot do go about replacing him but obviously he’s had an unreal start to the campaign before we do go any further though with today’s video don’t forget to drop a like on there for me and subscribe to the channel as well if you are new can we try it 50 likes on today’s video that massively appreciated and don’t forget to get your score predictions and starting 11 in down in the comment section Down Below in terms of my team then for this match I would stick with the 3-1 4-2 formation I know we kind of changed up a little bit against crew and I was very happy to see that but when you’ve got so many Fringe Strikers and I just want to give a bit of rotation to some other players and see how we go about in this one so in goal I have gone with Zack K it’s just my personal preference for the efl trophy we all know that the goalkeeping coach Colin Doyle will probably play this game but I don’t really understand why you want to play your 40-year-old goalkeeping coach over a first year Pro it’s just my personal preference as it has been throughout the whole of the AFL Trophy match previews that I’ve done so far this season so I would go with him in between the sticks in terms of my back three then at right center back I would go with it cck theti as we know the AFL trophy is largely used to rotate your team and give minutes to plays you haven’t really played much so far this season and C theat for me obviously with him not even being in the match this squad for the last couple of weeks I think it’s about time that gets another opportunity at right center back cuz he’s shown he can be a good player at this level just in his last couple of appearances his concentration seemed to go a little bit and with his getting more and more Defenders back from injury you know we’ve got like 10 players who can play center ra he’s found himself not even on the bench at times as well and it does look likely he probably will return to exiter in January in all honesty but I’d like te him get a start in this game CU you don’t want to overplay Aon Baldwin he has just come back from a three and a half month injury for example in the middle I would go with Neil burn obviously he’s going to still going to be suspended for another League game so he’ll miss Saturday’s Clash against Swindon but if he’s back available for the efl trophy then why not give him some minutes against his former side obviously a man we paid money for in the summer had some good games had some pretty poor games as well and it’s certainly not a criticism of Paul huntingon who I think has been man of the match in at least three of his four starts that he has had in a Bradford City shirt you could even argue He Man of the match in the other game as well so it’s definitely not a slight on him just with Neil burn being unavailable for the weekend Paul Huntington being 3738 I know we want to see him be able to do it Saturday Tuesday Saturday Tuesday but that’s more for the league that’s certainly how I see it rather than doing it in thef Trophy when you’ve got other players who can certainly play there and at left Center back I would go with Karen Kelly I think Jack sheeper for me has been pretty poor over the last couple of weeks I was actually calling for Kelly to start against crew grahe Alexander decided to stick with Jack Shepard and I thought he had another really poor game in all honesty especially in that second half he was constantly getting twisted and turned inside out so I will bring Ken Kelly back into the side and hopefully we can start building up his Fitness once more as obviously his contract does expire at the end of this season as my holding midfielder then I have gone with Cory Evans and there is a possibility that he would be Captain for this game I’ve not put down specifically who will wear the am band we might come back to that later on in today’s video but Cory Evans obviously very well experienced and played really well in the last efl trophy game against Rotherham Richie smold for me wasn’t amazing against crew I wouldn’t say was particularly bad either though in all honesty and I think Cory Evans has proven to be a pretty good signing for his so far with his contract set to expire in a couple of weeks this might be one of his last opportunities to start for Bradford City and earn himself a longer term deal I personally like what I’ve seen so far from him I would give him a deal until the end of the season with maybe the option of a further year he’s proven that he’s got the quality he’s proving his Fitness as well for the large part so I would start him as my holder midfielder at right wing back I would go with Brad Hal there simply for the fact of rotation really he came on for like the last 10 minutes in place of Aon Baldwin and know he is very versatile can play right wing back right center back left wing back he can do a job wherever you really ask him to but we all know this season as the right wing back he hasn’t quite delivered the output that we saw of him from last campaign but then again Jay Ben recently has been pretty poor so I think it’s about time he comes out for a game give Brad holay the start at right wing back and I don’t want to see him at left wing back and clar Adar right wing back for example because I didn’t really understand why we did that against rotheram made the pitch very narrow those Wing backs had to come inside seemed a little bit bizarre so holiday would start for me as the right wing back in terms of my two at number eights then at first I’ve got G with Anthony sovic he should hopefully be finally back at four this game it very nice for his first game back in what three four months something like that to be against his former Club at Stockport County I don’t think he’s played for Bradford City since the 17th or maybe the 24th of August with that knee injury so he’s been back in full trading now since the beginning of last week he just missed out probably at the weekend so let’s him come back in for the AFL trophy even if it’s only 45 60 Minutes for example he needs to start building his Fitness up what better way to do so than in the efl trophy against his former side but having missed him for a good three and a half months is probably going to take him a few weeks to fully get back up to speed and partnering him I would go with Alex Patterson as we know he’s currently technically banned for the next three League games of raford city but even if that red card does get overturned which we all would expect it to do so at the time of recording nothing has been announced about a potential red card being overturned for Al Alex Patterson I would still start with him in there obviously saswi and Patterson was our starting Jo in them positions at the beginning of the campaign when we went on a pretty decent run as soon as sassic got injured we then went on a pretty bad run then Patterson also got injured as well and that bad run did definitely continue so I’d like to see svic and patson get a start maybe if svic and hour patson 75 minutes something like that cuz we know we’ve got a lot of competition four places in them positions and as my left wing back I would go with claror again with t Wright missing for the next couple of months still Luis Richard you don’t want to overplay him and I don’t think he was amazing at the weekend in all honesty he wasn’t bad but again we need to see a little bit more if you want to keep your place in the side and like I mentioned the AFL trophy is all for rotations and if claror wants to prove himself as a football he needs to start doing more because there’s clearly a very talented player in there but he’s just not doing enough and I think come the end of his career he will really regret how he’s played in a lot of matches because he just doesn’t do enough he just does the bare minimum goes through the motions a little bit and we need to see more from him if he wants to play regular first team football professionally because once his contract expires with Bradford City at the end of next season if we’re still in a similar sort of place he won’t get a new deal with us the potential is clearly there but it can’t be all these different managers whether he was at barsley Leeds Bradford who can’t get the best out of him maybe this is just his level as my two Strikers then first year would go with Andy cook obviously he was missing at the weekend due to being suspended so I would bring him back in for this game he’s our biggest goal threat if you want to win football matches you have to play Andy cook and I would quite like to see us do well in the AFL trophy when you’ve got Strikers like vidan Oliver as your other options what’s the point in giving Oliver a s th000 chance when he’s proven a million times he’s nowhere near good enough for Bradford City he has to leave the football club in January and we’ll come on to Andy Cook’s partner in a moment CU I might have slightly contradicted myself but Andy cook for me has to start obviously at 10 League goals I think 13 or 14 in all competition so he definitely should lead the line for me and partnering him I would go with Tyler Smith now the thing with Tyler Smith is obviously the comments I’ve just said about ven Oliver you could say about Tyler Smith but he’s got an extra 18 months left with Bradford City it’s going to be much harder to to get rid of him off the wage b as it was Oliver last January for example so I think Oliver with six months left he should be pretty easy to get off the wage bill now if we have to top up his wages an extra, a week for the next six months that’s not really the end of the world but Tyler Smith I think it been just nice to see him get an opportunity Sanderson and kaver recently have had chances they haven’t really taken them and Tyler Smith has only had the one League start so far this campaign I think he started against Rotherham in thef Trophy then was dragged off at halftime and I think Smith obviously proved last season he can score goals in this competition and cook and Smith in the league had a pretty decent partnership you know you remember Smith’s goal away at Doncaster I’m just trying to see the bes in players at this moment in time especially for the partner to Andy cook because all of them really haven’t been good enough in the last three four months let’s be honest on the bench then for me that would leave S Walker J Ben Jack Shepard Richie Smallwood Jamie Walker Oly Sanderson and vidan Oliver the plays currently unavailable are Callum Johnson Joe Adams and Tek right it’s very nice to see that number of unavailabilities be very very low at this moment in time so the players you miss out then through selection there’s some good players not even on the bench we’ll be Colin doy aen Baldwin Paul Huntington Le Richards Gabriel woodsworth Bobby poton was my alarm just rudely interrupted us there Callum kaver on also Harry ibbertson as well in terms of a score prediction for this match I guess it largely does depend on what side both teams put out in all honesty but I’ll back the bantams actually for a 21 away win I’ll go with cook and Patterson to get the goals for Bradford City but thank you all for watching have a great rest of your day get your score predictions and star 11 in down in the comment section down below make sure to like And subscribe all that sort of good stuff I’ll see you all tomorrow on the main channel for a watch along
