in the description who else could it be for me you’re me Lou T welcome to Saturday night football overtime triple Hatter Edition will break down all three of the contests that took place today on this um penultimate Saturday of the 2024 2025 NFL regular season we’re getting down to the wire three games took place today um we’ll knock them down in the order in which they took place I don’t want to spend too much time on the first game kind of want to get that one out of the way um I probably should go on reverse order and start with the game that we just watched first and then kind of work our way back because honestly um the Patriots getting throttled at home by the Chargers not a surprise to anyone um that had watched either one of those two teams this season the Patriots stink the only reason you were even interested in that game remotely interested was to see Drake may he almost didn’t make it out of the first quarter doing some really questionable [ __ ] on the sidelines glad he was able to come back thought he was concussed but luckily he was able to finish the game um I actually didn’t finish the game because they were getting beat so badly but that’s nor here nor there uh let’s start with the game we just watched because we had two really good endings um and this was sort of a makeup for Wednesday’s Christmas debacle um neither one of those games were remotely any good and um the NFL owed us a huge solid and uh they gave us a couple of gems today two out of three ain’t bad as a wise man once said so let’s talk about what happened in these games so um let’s start with the one we just watched 13 to9 win for the Los Angeles Rams who are now 10 and six on the season um they did not clinch the NFC West with this win but as they said multiple times during The Telecast um if certain games go their way tomorrow they can clinch based off of strength of Victory I don’t know how that works so I’m not going to even sit here and pretend to try to explain that to you but uh at the the bottom they had a list of about five teams that if they won they needed like two and a half so two wins and a tie out of those five teams if those teams win they can clinch before that game even takes place next week um so I think looking at the list of teams they had down there I’m not quite sure who the five teams are I only like two or three of them stuck out to me but because my team was down there as one of the teams that needed to win and I think I seen Cleveland and some other you know three other teams uh I think Minnesota might have been one of them as well if it does go in that in that way the Rams can clinch and you know I actually think that would be for the best I think I want as the final game of week 18 the final game of the 2024 NFL regular season I want that to be Packers or excuse me uh Vikings and lions I don’t want Rams Seahawks to get in the way of what I think has a chance to be a really good game that R like the Rams haven’t scored 20 points in two weeks they went from scoring you know 44 against the bills to did they even score a touchdown did anybody score a touchdown in that game Thursday night a couple weeks ago when it was raining I think what did they win that game 9 to six or something I don’t know um but they went from doing that [ __ ] and then what they did tonight 13 to9 I don’t want to see that [ __ ] we Seattle just scored three the Rams just scored 13 I don’t want to watch that [ __ ] next week personally hey let that play out at 425 405 on Sunday next week let me get let me get lions and Vikings for the division and the right to call yourself the number one seed in the NFC let me get that on you know Sunday Night Football 8:20 next weekend to end the season off the right way right that’s personally my stance so I would prefer it if the Rams just clinched tomorrow because teams like Washington and Minnesota and the teams that they need to win I’m rooting for the Colts to lose I’m rooting for because I want to see Cincinnati in the playoffs um they’re one of the best seven teams in the AFC we’ve been saying that all year long un unfortunately um and we’ll get to them here in a second but I think most of us as fans want to see them in if you’re an AFC team you don’t want the the Cincinnati Bengals in the playoffs you don’t want Joe burrow in the playoffs but I do as a fan I do I want him in so uh we’ll get to that but um not really a lot to see here in terms of the Rams uh outside of the second quarter they really didn’t do much in this game this was a scoreless first quarter um it was scoreless for much of the second quarter then the Rams kind of caught fire at the end of the first half scored a touchdown was able to get uh get the ball back once more and score again to end the first half and we’re up 10 to nothing at halftime but really the Cardinals had their opportunities in this game um they were the ones kind of moving the football they couldn’t convert on a fourth down they made a few mistakes that allowed the Rams to kind of keep this thing neutral when it felt like the Cardinals were the ones dominating this game the Cardinals had the football for basically the entire third quarter 12 minutes I think they said 12 minutes and like 38 seconds of the third quarter clock the Cardinals had the football so uh the Arizona Cardinals really I felt like dominated this game you know if you watched the first half they were moving the ball success Y at times they just couldn’t finish off drives they made some mistakes just like we saw at the very end um I was having a conversation with my buddy about Kyler Murray because you know Rio brought up a tweet we were talking about it the commanders Kings about the tweet that was going viral about Kyler Murray um being allowed to stink it up in the 4:00 hour in anonymity nobody’s really paying attention so he he gets a pass you know I always make the running joke about how when my team was bad let me get my ass kicked in anonymity at one o’clock when everybody else is watching their own games in peace right I don’t I don’t want my [ __ ] televised nationally so everybody can see me get my damn you know brain bashed in and my teeth kicked in and you know me embarrassing myself like let me get my ass whooped at 1:00 so nobody else really realizes that I’m getting my ass whooped right Kyler Murray kind of just Blends in at 405 you know playing with the Cardinals you know out on that Left Coast you know and he gets away with a lot of [ __ ] you know you hear his name you know former number one overall pick there’s flashes of Brilliance but then there’s games and things like this like that interception shouldn’t have happened right at the end of the game uh but let’s let’s let’s go to the ram first I’m I’m bleeding over into the Arizona Cardinals and I shouldn’t do that um the Rams to me are they’re not a scary team like a lot of people like oh I don’t want to play the Rams uh I know I would I don’t mind playing the Rams here’s why um they’re a good defense they’re not great they don’t do anything great they don’t like they don’t do like they don’t have any Star players on defense not one not one guy you say hey gotta watch out for this dude they got a lot of really good players Kobe Turner is a really good player they’re rookie Braden fist really good player their rookie Jared bur really good player you know young really good player none of those guys scare you no Michael hoit doesn’t scare you you know none of those dudes you you know none of those guys put fear into your heart cam kinchin he cool you know Cameron curl nice ah great that’s awesome right killo Witherspoon cool yeah like none of those like none of those guys strike fear into your heart and you should be able if you got a good football team you scheme it up well like you should be able to move the football on the Los Angeles Rams you should be able to score points on them I am convinced of it I’ve seen it done enough times this year to know that if you have a credible offense you should be able to score on that now if you got issues they’re good they’re well coached and they’re good enough to stop you from scoring A Boat Loader points but as we saw with the bills they couldn’t stop them as we saw when they played Detroit they held them down but when it was time for them to get the stops at the end of the game they couldn’t stop them and that’s all the way back in week one right going ways back there but um and there other games you know when they needed to stop against Green Bay they held Green Bay down for most of that game but they needed to stop late they couldn’t get it and I surmised that and they couldn’t get a stop here like they got the stop ultimately with the that’s on Kyler Murray if you ask me but um they needed a stop and they really couldn’t get it it took a fluky play and and a really poor throw from Kyler Murray a rush throw unnecessarily I may add from Kyler Murray to get that football bouncing off the helmet of a guy that they had no answers for Trey McBride and don’t feel bad if you’re the Rams nobody has an answer for Trey McBride uh these days but um it’s not it’s not a great offense Stafford is cool and like here’s the thing don’t let Stafford get into a rhythm and let him get hot once he gets going and and then you get PUK and the COA going and Cooper cup and you know they start spreading around now you’re in trouble but if you don’t let Matthew Stafford get into a rhythm you can hold them down offensively then you know defensively as I just mentioned they don’t really move the needle so uh no one’s afraid of the Rams no one’s afraid of any team in that division whoever wins that Division and it feels like it’s the Rams division to lose right now but whomever wins that division looks like food in the first round of the playoffs I’m just telling you right now I’d much rather play who whoever wins that division than play Tampa Bay who um I think is ultimately going to win the NFC South I’d much rather play the winner of the NFC West than the winner of the NFC South which is probably going to be Tampa Bay but it could be Atlanta who knows we’ll see but if if Stafford gets hot and he he turns back the clock and goes Detroit on your ass then you could be in a little bit of trouble we’ve seen that and and he did that against Buffalo a couple you know few weeks back and that that’s when they’re tough that’s when they’re a tough out but um they should have lost this game the Rams should have lost this game but again let’s get to the Cardinals who now dropped to seven and nine on the season um it’s been a roller coaster ride for the Cardinals this year um they’ve had their ups they’ve had their downs at one point they were six and4 leading this division then they got extremely cold couldn’t buy a win and they’ve been a lot of close games but they don’t know how to win them and and I think it starts with Kyler Murray you know had Minnesota on the ropes let him off the hook um I think they they did beat Miami if I’m not mistaken in a very close game uh but it was very similar to the Minnesota game that they didn’t win um had Carolina you can’t lose games to teams like Carolina but they lost to Carolina uh just a week ago um they they find themselves in these positions quite often and usually they don’t find themselves on the right side of these types of games and and this was another example of that and they just make too many mistakes and and when I say they I’m talking about KY Murray but I’m just going to say they because I I want to make it a general statement about their team they don’t make enough plays defensively um but it’s really on Cal Murray he makes too many mistakes in these types of situations and I’ve always said this about Kyler Murray he reminds me a lot of Eli Manning in this regard Kyler Murray doesn’t want to be hit he’s very tiny he doesn’t like contact so if he’s not near out of bounds if he can’t slide and get down he’s going to throw the football and duck out of the way you know we to call it the Eli Manning no look pack and that interception he threw to Trey McBride the Rams came with allout pressure and he panicked for no reason he could have just stood back there waited for McBride to turn his head around and then throw him a 99 mph fast ball just like he did put it on the money and it would have been a touchdown instead he panics he’s backpedaling the pressure isn’t even there yet but he anticipates it so he’s already in hyperdrive mode panicking because he doesn’t want to get touched and so instead of him waiting he throws that thing way before he needed to doesn’t throw it accurately to boot it hits McBride in the head right as he’s turning around skips off his helmet goes in the air and it’s picked off by a kilo with spoon and it’s those types of plays from Kyler Murray where you go bro just calm the hell down what’s wrong with you right and there throws like that throughout like he will make a throw there there’s a throw to Trey McBride on the out route on a third down where you go man that is some Elite [ __ ] man he’s coming out of the break turns his head around and the ball is out where only McBride can get it strong hands by McBride to pull it in and you’re like Kyler that’s some good [ __ ] man there’s another play where he’s rolling to his left Z flowers is on the sidelines and U he throws it to Z flowers on the move to his left you know is only Kyler Murray can do not many guys I’ve seen do this Kyler Murray did this on the hell Mary to the DeAndre Hopkins against the bills where he’s rolling to his left stops turns plants all in one motion and then lets it rip not many guys can do that you know most guys need a little bit of time to set up shot when they’re running to their left Stop readjust themselves set up and then throw the football he can just run jump stop throw like all in one fluid motion and he kind of did that throwing the ball to Z flowers and it was perfectly placed right got there before the safety could come over and hit him and dislodge the football and it’s throws like that that you go man Kyler Murray so talented but in the same vein he doesn’t want to get hit so you get those balls like Martin Harrison Jr is running across the field on a dig route he’s open and Murray throws it behind him you know kind of throws it low and behind him you’re like bro what what the f like come on man can’t miss that right and then the the interception at the end you just you scratch your head because it was so unnecessary if you just relax hang tight bro hang tight it’s a first down play you know first and foremost so if you don’t like it if you’re not sure you can even throw it away like you had three more Downs you had two timeouts you had everything in front of you you panic you throw off the man’s helmet like and and that’s the thing with Murray sometimes he throws it where the receiver is instead of where he’s going there are times where he anticipates beautifully and then there are times where you’re like bro your receiver is running that way why would you throw it behind him and so that was one of those times where he threw it where McBride was instead of where he was going he knew the route maray is a head scratcher that interception he threw late in the game against Carolina a head scratcher you just you go bro I can’t win with this type of incompetence and and that’s the thing with Kyler Murray is you just you’re not sure and he plays well against the Rams which is why I picked the Arizona Cardinals to win this game because he plays well against the Los Angeles Rams better against the Rams than any other team in the division he usually plays well against them and he had every opportunity to win the game tonight and they couldn’t get it there every opportunity and you know the extra point that was block Loom large obviously they they weren’t thinking about an extra point even if it was 13 to 10 they would have still been in that same exact position because you weren’t settling for the field goal you were trying to win the game there so that didn’t change anything it would have only been coming to question had they gotten to fourth down and had to settle for a field goal which they wouldn’t have been able to because they were down for that’s when we would have said man that extra point sure would have come in handy but they they he turned it over on a first and goal from like the five yard line there’s no excuse for that none but that’s kyum Murray in a nutshell and that’s why he’ll never be an elite quarterback that’s why the Cardinals will always be middle of the pack because of the inconsistency of Kyler Murray that’s who he’s been that’s who he is and I think that’s who he’s always going to be I could be wrong about that and the light bulb could finally come on for him two three years from now and and he could become Elite but just feels like that’s who he is you gotta ride the roller coaster if you’re a Cardinals fan and that [ __ ] sucks it really truly does but um the opportunities were there they had every opportunity to win this game dominated the third quarter [ __ ] felt like they kind of dominated the fourth quarter as well and they had basically nothing to show for it nothing to show for it you basically dominated the third quarter and you had six whole points to show for it six points make it make sense you know but I mean it is what it is at the end of the day um they weren’t meant to win this game the Cardinals just simply weren’t meant to win this game and and the Rams were and so um Rams get it done 13 to n get to 10 and six and I think there’s a good chance that they clinch this division tomorrow I think there’s a really good chance that a lot of those games that they need to go in their favor will go in their favor ultimately and they will ultimately win that division before we even get to week 18 but um we’ll see we’ll see what happens tomorrow um that was the that was the game we just watched really good finish with the ailo Witherspoon interception there late wasn’t a great game necessarily from a scoring standpoint but I was entertained um I was entertained but I know that 13 to n is it for everyone I figured that out very quickly 13 to n not for everyone but that game before that one that was for everybody uh um Joe burrow should be the league MVP I’ll just say that he should be the league MVP but he’s not going to be obviously but if somehow and and Michael Parson said this on X but if somehow Joe burrow is able to get the Cincinnati Bengals into the playoffs and and it’s not going to happen because you need the Dolphins and the Colts to both lose at least one of their final two games and I don’t see Nei one of those teams losing both of their games to be honest with you the Colts have the Giants and the Jaguars and the Dolphins have the Browns and the Jets both teams should win both of those games but again the Colts are a mess um you don’t know what Colts team is going to show up and same could be said for the Dolphins Tua might not even play on Sunday um but at the end of the day um Cincinnati they all of that doesn’t matter if they didn’t take care of business uh and they win a thriller 30 to 24 in overtime and there’s so many different ways to go about this game let’s start with Cincinnati and the late game execution or lack thereof by Zack Taylor um at the end of this ball game in regulation so one of my biggest pet peeves with Zack Taylor and I talked about this in the Super Bowl year in 2021 and I didn’t think he was a particularly good coach back then and he took to the Super Bowl so after that I just shut up and I just left it alone because you know you got Joe burrow you got Jamar chase you got all that Talent Luan maruno is doing a tremendous job with the defense um it’ll Mass some some def deficiencies you may have with your head coach and game management situation so I just shut up but one of my biggest issues with Zack Taylor you know in 2020 and 20121 in particular when they won went to the Super Bowl was his game management he was awful in that regard and I said I Remember the Titans game that they won when the Titans if I’m not mistaken in 21 were they the number one seed they might have been the number one seed I’m pretty sure the Titans would the number one seed that year and they came off The Bu and you know Ryan tenah Hill threw like three or four picks and Cincinnati won that game but Zack Taylor mangled the clock at the end of that game and I think they won that game in overtime if I’m not mistaken but he mangled the clock and and they should have lost the game and I remember saying this guy stinks but you know you win it’s the best deodorant it masks a lot of deficiencies and so like I said they went to Super Bowl I just shut up I left it alone but you fast forward to you know present day and they they did everything in their power to make sure that Denver had an equal opportunity to try to tie this game and potentially win it in regulation and it started with the injury to um the to Brown the running back when and I was like bro just limp off the field but he couldn’t make it you know as a fan you’re like bro just find a way to get off the field because it it if he doesn’t get injured right there the Broncos are going to have to use their final timeout and they were they had already used their final timeout in that situation but they were uh awarded their timeout back because there was an injured you know Bengals player on the on the field so the Bengals then had to you know spend the timeout so that was a huge you know benefit to them but at that moment even with the clock stopped and the Broncos still having one timeout and yes it was second and goal and you don’t want to waste you know an opportunity if you’re looking to score a touchdown you got to understand the situation right and um this is going to be funny but to go back in the story a bit the Bengals kicked a 22 yard field goal they got stuck down there which was the theme of the day for them they they were awful in those short yarded situations early in the game they got turned away on a fourth down um they got a pass interference they got on the ball basically at the one yard line they could not get in from the one yard line got turned away on fourth down again and you know you get to the the the lat latter stages of the game and they they get down there and so they decide to finally you know attempt the field goal and my wife is watching the game and she just happens to look up and she sees Kade York she’s like what is he doing on NFL roster they’re relying on this guy I’m like I mean I’m like you know the kicker hurt man I mean what do you want him to do she’s like there aren’t better options available than Kate York and I’m like I mean he’s been good for him for like a month he’s he’s been solid I’m like clearly they didn’t think there were better options out there she was like couldn’t be me so fast forward to the end of the game um we’ll go back to the mangling of the clock but Kade my wife is like they need to score a touchdown I don’t trust Kade York and I said Bae Kate York’s coming in the game to kick the game winning field goal she said how far is it I’m like it’s an extra point she was like H he should make that I’m like it’s Kade York you’re relying on Kade York to win you a football game this is not where you want to be and so uh sure enough he dinks the upright in overtime and I thought they were going to lose the game at that point to be honest with you like that’s a momentum Crusher but the Broncos couldn’t do anything in overtime nothing they had it twice and I don’t even think they got a first down on either one of their overtime possessions but anyway back to regulation after Brown got injured on that first and goal run down to I think the one yard line um if you were smart the next play should have been either like a centering of the football or a run to the running back but even that’s too dicey for me just Center the football right the Broncos will use their third and final timeout then you do it again like you take a knee right in the middle right take as much time as you can doing that maybe burn off an addition two or three seconds right cuz there was like 101 left on the clock after he did you know the knee or whatever 107 something like that so you run that next play it’ll get it close to that one minute Mark maybe under one minute then they use their plattin timeout then you do it again you burn off 40 right and then you you call a timeout and you kick the field goal and you’ll probably be winning the game by um three with about 16 to 13 seconds left in the ball game that was the way that they should have strategically done that uh scoring a touchdown there was not the play because they still not only had um a timeout left but they had plenty of time there was still over a minute left in the game it just that wasn’t the play there and somebody correct me if I’m wrong but Cincinnati’s defense has been horrid this season don’t let the fact that they’ve held Denver to 24 points in this game fool you you’ve watched your defense all year piss away games late lose football games why in the hell would you think they were gonna show up at the biggest moment of the game and stop them from going down and winning the game how many games have you lost this season because your defense was incapable of getting a stop and you really thought they were going to stop Denver from getting the touchdown and you’re lucky they didn’t go for two because initially they were going to go for two and then I don’t know why um Shawn pyton changed his mind but they ultimately decided you know what let’s go to overtime you know it wasn’t a bad decision because they got the stop they needed and got the ball back not once but twice in overtime and couldn’t do anything with it so they had their chances but he made angled that late game situation and had they lost the game that might have been a firealable offense it may have been a fireable defense I mean they were going to fire him this late in the season you just let him play out the the rest of the season you got one game left and then you fire him after the season but I don’t know about Zack Taylor man he he makes some questionable decisions some really questionable decisions um but he got away with that one he got away with that one and um you know because of Joe burrow because of that defense getting stops timely stops which they couldn’t do at the end of regulation so you score the touchdown there you leave the Broncos with roughly a minute and a timeout which was plenty you know with the new rules getting it out to the 30 um you know it’s it’s a lot easier to score if you if you manage it right and and they got down there quick with B Knicks and then you know you get to that you know fourth down situation you think you got him stop the receiver’s double covered and somehow he still comes down with the football in the end zone that’s wild right Marvin Ms had himself a wh of a ball game A two touchdown grabs a deep ball that was a beautifully thrown ball from B Knicks and then the touchdown there on that you know last gas last Des you know late desperation heave into the end zone but the game’s tied you know pending the extra point they kick the extra point they go to overtime Bengals win the toss and you’re thinking okay they’re probably going to go down I mean because they really hadn’t stopped the Bengals in like two or three possessions and they sacked burrow it felt like they sacked him like seven times in this game but um Allen got to him and and they ended up having a punt and I thought well that’s it you know the Broncos are going to lose this game and they did nothing went three and out gave it right back to bur I’m like you’re you’re really Living Dangerously you keep giving it back to burrow I don’t know what you think is going to happen but you can’t keep giving this man the football and expecting the outcome to be favorable for you and so they he moved him all the way down the field got him in the Chip Shot field goal range 33 yard field goal and Kate York I I already talked about you know going through you know the whole situation with K York um you know you get the fumble from um T Higgins that to go back into regulation they couldn’t stop the Bengals that t Higgins fumble was the only reason that they were even even in in in a position to to you know win the game to begin with was because of T higgins’s fumble if that not for that fumble I think Cincinnati wins this thing in regulation um but that’s no here nor there um York misses the the field goal bangs it and at that point I thought they were going to lose the game and like I said the the Broncos literally went three and out gave it right back to Cincinnati so they really didn’t have that much time run off they still had two timeouts left so everything was still at their disposal and Joe Calley cool Comm and collected takes him down the field the dime to uh T Higgins who was just spectacular I don’t know if you guys caught this at the end uh but Jamar chase after the game said uh if that’s T’s last game in Cincinnati went out with a bang he said but you know I I can’t say that it is or not you know but if it is he killed it right obviously uh T Higgins three touchdowns the gamewinner obviously the big catch to set up the gamewinner um he was in Fuego tonight but um I tweeted out during the game hey I’m I’m sliding a blank check across the table to T Higgins in free agency he he’ll be the most sought after non-quarterback in free agency this upcoming spring you know March early to mid-march um and he’ll really have the pick of the L he get to go wherever he wants everybody’s going to want T Higgins um really I think it’s just going to be based on preference for him who does he want to play with at quarterback and you know what opportunities is he looking for and more importantly who’s prepared to show him the type of money that he’s looking for I think if if you’re T igin and you’re smart you want a combination of the two you’re gonna get paid no matter where you go right it’s going to turn into a bidding war for your services the question is can I get the best of both worlds can I get paid a boatload of money and go somewhere where I I love the quarterback situation so I think there will be some opportun for him if if he loves if he likes Drake may I think ego wise if his ego is huge and he wants to be the guy then you go to New England there’s no one even there remotely close to being a number one receiver you’ll be that guy and there they’ve got the most money available of any team cap wise in the NFL going into next season and so or into the next League year so money is no object for New England they they desperately wanted a receiver they tried to get Brandon iuk and he said I don’t want to go there so that fell through so they they’re willing to spend to get Drake May a viable Target if if his ego jumps in there New England would would be the destination got a Young quarterback you’ll be the number one guy no questions asked and you’ll get paid a boatload of money um but if you want to go somewhere where you have a chance to win immediately then you don’t want to go to New England um you’re looking for a team with a quarterback you’re looking for a team that more likely than that you know maybe made the playoffs the year before whatever you know some of these things matter to certain you know your know free agents but there’ll be some options I’ll just say that there will be some opportunities there will be some teams that will be looking for an upgrade at the receiver position he’s young super talented offers you size strong hands you know the only question about t Higgins is Health he’s he’s a guy that you know will miss three to four games every year it feels like but when he’s healthy man he’s a Difference Maker I think he’s an elite too but in his mind he’s probably a one and I think he could be a backend to the league one but I think he his best status is a an elite top of the league number two and uh they’re going to be some opportunities Washington in in particular that will be looking for a a robin and he can be the best Robin in the NFL he [ __ ] he’s one of them already playing next to Jamar Chase which I think that’s his role but he may think he can do a little bit better we’ll see but he was outstanding in this game including the gamewinner um the catch to set that up was just ridiculous but that’s Joe burrow too like just net throw um Joe was incredible again I thought I saw a stat that was mindboggling um and I this I could be wrong about this but I swear I saw that Joe burrow now has thrown for three or more touchdowns in now eight straight games if that is true what in the hell are we talking about here this guy should be the league MVP but again the MVP is not a an individual award on its own it is an individual and slash team award and people seem to you know lose side of that like it’s supposed to be an individual award but it’s really an individual and team award if your team isn’t good but you’re the best player in the league they’re not giving you the MVP your team has to be really good because you’re really good that’s how you win the MVP and um Joe burrow is the best player player in the NFL that’s what the the MVP award should be there just the best player in the league Calvin Johnson was the best player in the league in like 20 n you know 2019 maybe it was 2021 whatever 2017 whatever that year was where he almost had 2,000 yards receiving and the Lions sucked and they won like five games he’s the best player in the league he should have been League MVP but he wasn’t because his team sucked ass but that’s what the MVP trophy is supposed to be Joe burrow deserves to be the MVP of the league he was ridiculous again um Zack Taylor sucks but luckily enough for him Kade yor York sucks but luckily enough for him the Broncos didn’t have enough juice offensively late to get it done and Joe burrow was able to bail him out numerous times Joe burrow literally took them on three separate game-winning drives right the one at the end of regulation that should have been for the game but instead of them you know taking the field goal with you know seconds left they decide to score a touchdown with over a minute left leaving the the Broncos with also an a timeout in their back pocket which is poor you know managing of the clock um he took him down in overtime got him in the Chip Shot field goal range only for Kade York to dink the upright and miss and then took him down ultimately and said let me do this [ __ ] myself and threw the touchdown pass to T Higgins um burrow is ridiculous um if you’re the Broncos you you’re still GNA make the playoffs I was I was rooting like hell for Kansas City to lose to the Steelers because I wanted the Chiefs to need that last game and because I want I I it really has nothing to do with Denver I I want Cincinnati in the playoffs so that’s why I was rooting so hard for the Steelers to to beat the Chiefs so that the Chiefs would need the week 18 game hence playing their starters which would probably lead to a Broncos loss but the Chiefs don’t need that game and they need the rest they were they were the the main team the chief team see what I did there complaining about three games in 11 days so you best believe that they’re going to take full advantage of the opportunity to rest their guys uh Chris Jones was already out in miss that uh Christmas Day game so they’re going to take uh every opportunity they can to arest anybody with any kind of ailment including Patrick Mahomes who obviously has the ankle um they’re gonna let him rest the Broncos should win that week 18 game at home that’s the way it looks I gotta say though B knck played his ass off again wasn’t always pretty but he used his legs when he had to he made some timely throws um when the game was on the line and regulation took him down the field through the touchdown pass um when when the when [ __ ] started to rev up and Joe Burl started to heat up and you could see the the shift uh in momentum it’s 17 to 10 Burl just took him down the field crowd is getting into it they run play action fake b knck rolls out to his right plant stops and delivers a dime to Marvin mims in the end zone probably 47 50 yards in the air um you go damn Bo it’s like that so um you got to give credit to B Knicks for battling in this game he wanted it bad you can see he was a bit dejected on the sidelines when they didn’t get it done because you miss an opportunity to clinch a playoff birth um it it stings but everything they want is right in front of them in week 18 take care of business at home against a chief team that really doesn’t have anything to play for they’ve already locked up the number one overall seed in the AFC so uh even if Starters play to start the game I I don’t think starters will be playing to finish that game so again just take advantage of being at home being the more desperate team and um getting it done at home next week but should they not get it done it opens up um a world of opportunities for for other teams but you got to take care of business first in week number 17 before we can talk about week 18 for teams like Miami um and um Indianapolis but Cincinnati did what they needed to do um it was good to see jalo mcglaughlin back because to me he gives them that that explosiveness that they lack when he’s not in the lineup um you know ese ain’t he’s not a you know speed guy javante isn’t his speed guy and so you those two are more physical backs you need a guy that at any moments notice can you know break one for 65 yards and a touchdown that’s who Jalil mclin is so it was good to see him back he had a really solid game um like I said Bo did a really good job of Distributing the football uh made some really good throws he he kept them in the game gave him a shot he really did I thought the defense they made some timely plays man um couple of fourth down stops with their back up against the wall obviously the forcing a fumble of T Higgins in a crucial spot in the game getting the stop in overtime I thought was huge I thought that was going to give them an opportunity to win the game but as fate would have it they went three and out gave it right back to Joe and Joe was ready to do those boys but Kade York uh clearly was not so it was a hell of a football game um a lot of fun it felt like playoff football that felt like a playoff game and it really was for both teams Denver trying to get in and Cincinnati desperately trying to stay alive and so it felt that felt like playoff football and it did not disappoint and it lived up to U everything you’re looking for in a Saturday contest late in the season week 17 that was beautiful 30 to 24 overtime victory for the Cincinnati Bengals who now 8 and8 this was a team we left for dead at 4-8 a month ago there’s no shot no chance in hell that they were making the playoffs at 4 and8 they were pretty much done they had a loss and I want to say that loss was to who it was to somebody in a game where you go it was the Pittsburgh you know that that Steelers game at home they lose that game what was it 44 to 8 I believe and you’re like well that was the one right that was the one you had to have at home you blew it it’s over um and since then they’ve just rattled off Victory after Victory after Victory I think they’ve won now what four out of five here I think we left them for dead at four- seven I think was their record after the loss to um to Pittsburgh I think they were either four and seven going into that game and they lost dropped them at 4 and8 or they were 4- six and they needed to win they that dropped in to four- seven whatever the case may be um I think they were five- seven and they lost that game and they dropped them to five and eight because they’ve won three straight beat Dallas um beat uh Cleveland last week and then um beat the um uh the Broncos tonight so it’s been an improbable stretch they continue to keep their playoff hopes alive but they’re going to need a ton of help but that was the first order of business finding a way to beat um the team that’s in front of you that you’re trying to take a playoff spot from in the Denver Broncos and they got that done hell of a football game Broncos still control the outcome of their season just win next week simple as that um any losses by teams behind you like Miami or Indianapolis will eliminate them but you just lost a head-to-head with Cincinnati so you don’t want to rely on anybody else to do any dirty work for you just beat the Chiefs next week and put all of this to bed um big win for the Bengals keeps their playoff hopes alive debilitating loss for the Broncos but you know still got everything you want in front of you just take care of business next week against a Chiefs team that has absolutely nothing to play for and you’ll be in the postseason regardless and then the the first game was everything that we thought it was going to be so total ass kicking um Total Domination by the Chargers what that end up being 40 to7 right if if I’m not mistaken um see if that was the the score I’m pretty sure that was the score in that game 40 to 40 to7 but yeah 40 to7 it it just got progressively worse in that game it never felt competitive um it felt like the Chargers were the superior team and all they had to do was just not make mistakes and they would win this game comfortably and they for the most part did they moved out of the way they let the Patriots make all the mistakes had a good drive going Drake May tossing the ball it looks like he’s tossing the damn ball to rre Stevenson and you know pop Douglas comes out of nowhere and tries to intercept it it hits the ground it’s recovered by like that’s what bad teams do you know I was saying the same thing about the Bengals when when they were trying to actively lose this game I’m like yeah that’s what bad teams do you you had the ball in Broncos territory twice once at the one and you couldn’t get in you couldn’t convert on a fourth and one early in the game fourth and one at at the Broncos one yard line first and goal from the one and you couldn’t get in um four straight attempts and then you had the T against fumble you had the Kade York Miss field goal it it felt like they were trying to lose this game and we we’ve talked ad naum about how many games they’ve lost you know one you know one score Affairs you know these close games this felt like another close loss but never at any point in that Chargers game did that feel like it was going to be anything but a route and they took care of business um 40 to7 Herbert you know it’s funny because when we talk about best quarterbacks in the NFL I’m adamant my top five is you know in no particular order you put them however you want but it’s momes it’s Allen it’s Jackson it’s burrow and it’s Herbert that’s the five for me and I don’t I call him the big five and and I don’t think that’s you know changed over the last two to three years for me that’s been the group right and people always poo poo just to Herbert like he doesn’t belong in that group and I’m just like you clearly haven’t been watching a lot of people love to bring up wins and losses and I heard rth Tucker you know doing the game talking about well when it comes to Herbert he’s got a win in the postseason cool I get that he’s only been once so that’s another thing he hasn’t played a lot of winning football but God can’t do it himself like if you watch the Chargers you understand the narrative there about this man scoring over 33 points so many times and yet losing a bunch of those games like that’s not normal to do what he’s done in his NFL career to this point and just not seeing the results because his defense has let him down you know over and over and over again in and it’s good to see you know him play with a quality defense you know it’s not a great roster by any means they’re they’re early in that process but yet with Jim Harbaugh you always seem to be ahead of schedule and that’s where they are now clinching the playoff birth getting their 10th win of the season in year one of Harbaugh they got to feel really good about where they are but I saw a stat today that just blew my mind most passing yards to start an NFL career through five seasons right and you know who’s at the top of that list Justin Herbert most pass yards you know and again I don’t want to hear no garbage time [ __ ] because that ain’t what he was doing he he was throwing for 380 because his team needed him to score 37 points he scored 36 they lost 38 to you know 36 or 37 to 36 or he had to score 30 6 because his defense gave up 33 so this these ain’t garbage time stats this is this man throwing it 46 times and and going 38 of 46 going 36 of 46 for 394 three touchdowns in an interception four touchdowns in an interception because he had to the man has thrown three interceptions this season three interceptions I think he’s right now ranked third all time for the most passing attempts in a season with three or less interceptions he’s with a leite company I think Brady and Rogers are the only other two quarterbacks that have such you know care for the football in a season in which they’ve thrown it damn near 500 times Justin Herbert is a beast okay he’s a beast uh and anybody that says otherwise you simply aren’t watching it’s as simple as that this man outside of lat makoni this man is throwing the bumps I actually like Stone smart a lot I like that guy not because he came from ODU am I a little biased sure shoot me but he’s really talented and he’s really athletic and I felt like they should have been featuring him more like I can’t take too much more of this will disly [ __ ] you you throw one more tight end screen to win will disy I might have to punch somebody in the face but all jokes aside he’s got a rookie in lad Maki who’s tearing [ __ ] up but outside of that you got a former number one uh former first round pick wide receiver who routinely drops the football in Johnston you got a guy that is really solid in in Palmer Josh Palmer but he’s hit or miss right he could have eight catches he could have no catches and that could be from a lack of targets or it could be from H just really didn’t do anything in this particular game right he he has the highest drop rate amongst uh receivers this season that’s what he’s dealing with and if you watch the beginning of this game makoni had a drop which is uncharacteristic of him but he had a drop Johnston had a drop what’s new right this the [ __ ] he deals with and yet still one of the best quarterbacks in football so he went out did what he needed to do the defense did what they were supposed to do against an inferior Patriots football team um and they they throttle those guys 40-7 good to see JK Dobbins back he makes a a huge difference um their offense is night and day different when the Run game is uh back a part of the fold and that only happens when JK Dobbins is back there you don’t get that from kamani vdal you don’t get that from Gus Edwards you don’t get that from Hassan H Haskins you only get that from JK dobins so um that you know and I think they need to feature Darius Davis I liking him they’re not the same player I think kavante Turpin is a little bit more explosive and dynamic but they’re very similar in that you got to find ways for this guy to be more involved Darius Davis is a problem you don’t have a lot of speed you don’t have a lot of dynamic weapons outside of lad Maki you should be trying to feature Darius Davis as much as you can it’s a hell of a catch he made in the end zone the second week in a row he’s made a a really good touchdown grab that one was spectacular he caught both ends of the football you know survive the ground like that’s a hell of a catch um had the punt return called back for a touch down like that dude’s Dynamic man loved him coming out of TCU one of my commanders to draft him you got to find ways for him to touch it you see what the Broncos are doing with um Marvin Mims they put him in the back field they toss it to him they throw him wide receiver screens they get him involved stretch the field vertically with him I don’t understand why the Chargers aren’t doing that with Darius Davis and and maybe I’m missing something and maybe he’s not capable of doing all of those things I just I just like him with the ball in his hands [ __ ] I try to get him the ball a little bit more than what they do right now but that’s just me right for the Patriots it was all about Drake May on offense and when he took that hit early in the game collectively you just held your breath like really dude um I I don’t really know what he was trying to do on that play he had already stepped out of bounds tiptoeing the sidelines you asking for trouble just ask Troy that that them Sidelines ain’t nothing to play with man either you inbounds or you out of bounds don’t don’t don’t make me choose pick aide right pick a side Caleb Williams does that [ __ ] and he’s trying to get himself her like bro get out of bounds what are you doing and I understand Drake may want to try to get the first down bro get your ass it’s the first damn possession of the game it’s the first quarter get your monkey ass out of bounds okay he almost took a shot that removed him from the football game he had to go through kuss protocol um luckily he was cleared and was able to return back to the game but no don’t do that um there’s just nothing on offense man it’s tough watching him have to throw the you know boute and um Hunter Henry who isn’t bad uh but Austin Hooper like he ain’t even a Hooper no more I mean Jaylen pulk and Javon Baker I mean it’s bad it’s just it’s it’s not a lot there man um but he he makes the best of his situation I think he’s played well this year given the circumstances my biggest issue with him right now is he just turns it over too much you know every game I expect him to make one or two decisions where I go yeah don’t Drake no don’t don’t do that and this game was no different you know this game was no different so um he’s gonna he’s gonna turn it over but I like him a lot think he’s got a bright future I think this is going to turn out to be one of the better draft classes of quarterbacks that we’ve seen you know um and we still haven’t seen JJ McCarthy yet who lit it up in that one preseason game that was super impressive um all of the guys that have played this year though have had moments even Spencer Rattler which I don’t think he’s a starter in this league but he wasn’t a first round pick either right six guys went the first round and of of the six guys five of them have started games now and right now we can say four of them look like legit NFL starters and Caleb Williams jayen Daniels um B Knicks and uh Drake May so um and then Michael pennick I have no reason to believe he won’t be really good I have no reason to believe that so um they got to get him some Talent which is why we’ve already heard rumors of them being willing to back up the Brinks truck for T Higgins and I get it like they need somebody out there bad and what you really don’t want to do is draft a rookie receiver and ask him to be the guy you would prefer to get a veteran in there that can help with Drake May development but uh you may have to I mean they’re G to have a pretty high draft choice and if you know they think the Arizona kid is worthy of of that pick then they may have to do that right um if I’m New England I’m exploring all options tackle included right got to protect your investment but we’ll see you know we’ll see what happens but yikes I’ll just say that um that one got ugly in the second half pretty quickly it kind of got ugly at the end of the first half and didn’t get much better in the second half so 40 to7 Chargers clinch a playoff birth congrat congratulations to the Los Angeles Chargers congratulations to Jim Harbaugh in year one for getting that done [Music] um there were times this season where it didn’t feel like it was going to happen but all in all this Chargers team they’re pretty interesting and you know they’re they’re a pretty interesting team to me in the AFC they epitomize Styles make fights they there certain teams and I think Ross Tucker hit it right on the head he said they could beat Pittsburgh they’ve already gone to Pittsburgh and lost but they’re capable of being the Steelers but or excuse me the the Ravens are probably gonna win that division so they don’t want any parts of the Ravens they don’t want any parts of the bills but they can handle the Texans and so that five seed that’s something that they should be going after with aggressiveness pure aggression you’re hoping that Cincinnati or um the Steelers uh lose in week 18 to Cincinnati obviously they needed Cincinnati to win this week so that they give themselves a Fighting Chance next week to need that game and play with the same type of veracity that they did today well mission accomplished there they need the Steelers to lose next week they need to win and uh if they can get to that five seed I can see the Chargers winning the game making a little bit of noise in the postseason Herbert still doesn’t have uh playoff Victory yet he get it he could definitely get it so anyway I digress um let’s uh let’s get to a couple of ads real quick um the um Old Miss quarterback declared for the NFL draft I think that happened yesterday or so um so that’s another name that you throw into the the mix obviously you have the Texas quarterback Quinn ERS that’s another name and and you know we’ll see how good some of these guys ultimately are but when it’s all said and done not everybody’s coming away with a quarterback and so uh I I’ve said this already it’s a lot of teams that need quarterbacks there’s some that may not think they need a quarterback some that know they need a quarterback but they don’t want to admit it yet but I think when it’s all a said done Kurt Cousins because i’ I’ve read articles where I don’t know if there’s going to be a market for Kurt Cousins of course there’s going to be a market for Kurt Cousins and he’s being paid a lot of money still by the Atlanta Falcons so technically speaking he could do what Russell Wilson did if he wants an opportunity I don’t know if Kirk’s gonna do that or not I think Kirk’s gonna still be able to get somebody for a two-year $20 million deal if I were teams that you know wanted kurk cousins I’d do what the Steelers did with Russ Wilson like hey you got to come over here for some V minimum money but um Kirk might the way Kirk’s finessed the system I can see him getting somebody for a two-year 20 million deal I really could but you see the odds they’re in order of the teams with the best odds you know so I think we might have done this before but Tennessee seems like a logical destination for him they need need a quarterback even though I I’ve said this I think Kirk’s going to be better next year you know a full year removed from the injury and the mobility starts to come back a little bit he’s gonna have to get over some mental hurdles because you know he’s a big mental guy and this didn’t end well for him so mentally he’s gonna have to get into a good place to be able to play the kind of football that he’s capable of but I think you know there’s all of these teams that you see in front of you for the most part need quarterbacks Tennessee is going to need a quarterback next year Seattle I think they’re fine Gino Smith if you’re swapping out Gino Smith for Kurt Cousins you’re going in the wrong direction Gino yeah Kurt Cousins leads the NFL in interceptions Gino Smith is second so what are we talking about here right like it doesn’t make sense to take the guy that’s second in the league in interceptions and swap him out for the guy that led the league in interceptions that’s stupid so I don’t see that being a destination Cleveland restructured DeShaun Watson’s contract don’t really see this as a landing destination for him any longer not that I thought it was going to be anyway they can’t really take on any more QB money but you know if Kirk was willing to sign for the vet minimum and it might be an intriguing place for him to land because I think he fits in Kevin stans’s offense but I don’t see the Browns pulling the trigger there Saints again Derek Carr stinks but swapping out Derek car for kurk cousins is like swapping out your 2006 Toyota Camry for a 2007 Toyota Camry great right like what are we doing here um Giants they’re in a position to draft the quarterback one overall Kurt Cousins serves no purpose if you’re going to bring in the veteran quarterback you’re not looking for a veteran the caliber of a Kurt Cousins you’re looking for a veteran the caliber of a say Marcus Mariota or a jacobe brassette that’s the kind of guy you’re looking for you’re not looking for Kurt Cousins right um Raiders again that win and they could win again they got the Saints this week they win again and then you’re in some really deep doodoo right um they could use a veteran if you know they they can’t get one of the quarterbacks in the draft Kirk cousin Sam Donn is going to be a hot name this off season somebody’s going to pay him good money I think that’s where Sam Don ultimately lands is Tennessee I think the best destination for C Kurt Cousins believe it or not is Indianapolis the Indianapolis Colts look out as a dark horse they’re all the way at plus 1400 I’d slap down a little Bread on Kirk Cousins right now to end up in Indianapolis CT because I can tell you this right now Anthony Richardson not the answer but they got to get to a point where they’re willing to acknowledge that in the in the meantime need a veteran there that can give us a shot to win in case he gets injured again or if he’s just stinking it up entering Kurt Cousins that’s my guess as I look at all of these situations I the Jets is interesting but again that’s not a good place for kurk cousins mentally new York that media eat him up you know chew him up spit him out he needs to go somewhere where it’s kind of lowkey he didn’t he didn’t throw like a direct shot but it was a sub right 10 guys doing their job one guy not doing their job like it was a sub don’t know who he was talking about in particular but he was talking about somebody clearly um and other players were you know not happy after the game so we’ll see what kind of shape the steers are in can they get their act together win that game kind of get some momentum going back in their favor going into the postseason but um they can still win the division like it’s not out of the realm of possibility that they could win the division um the Ravens do play the Browns and you know the Ravens did lose to them earlier this season so anything’s possible but it feels like the Steelers are going to be a wild card team at this point can they beat Cincinnati yeah they could definitely end Cincinnati’s play playoff hopes Cincinnati needs a lot right to happen but they got to win first that’s the first and most important Domino is they got to win um then you can worry about all the help that they need to try to get in but as far as that last playoff birth I I still see it being um but uh Denver to lose like all they got to do is win at home and I get it it’s Kansas City but the Chiefs are going to be playing you know a good chunk of their starters there’ll be some guys in there that the starters that will play in that game but I just like I said the Chiefs don’t have anything to play for the Carson wins to start in that game and a lot of their you know big- Time Players probably won’t be in that game you know you play three games in 11 days and you feel like yo now we going to rest some dudes so um the only the only danger in that is you don’t play these guys in week 18 then you get the first round by you just came off a planing on a Wednesday so what are we you’re talking about damn near a full month these guys haven’t played you know in an actual game that’s that’s pretty tough you know what I’m saying so that’s the only thing that you worry about you might want to throw your dudes out there for a quarter or two and then take them out but you know certain guys they just not going to see the field at all like Christmas games a lot of things were altered schedules were altered and I saw a lot of people complaining about the fantasy you know championship games that are being played um and how kind of not fair and you know all these Stars being out and so I I saw a lot of that and then obviously there’s always a betting aspect to everything now you know in-game bets you know are are all the rage now we’ve had better rosters than this group you know but coaching yeah um but roster wise the 99 roster was better than this roster if you ask me we had some talented rosters that didn’t achieve you know some of those years but the old the ‘ 04 roster was the’ 05 roster was better than this if you ask me um the 20 15 roster was better than this one I think that’s the last time I felt like we actually had a really good roster 2015 and 2016 but um this team is is if you just talking about like belief and you know culture and and the quarterback you put all those things yeah it’s the best since 91 but from a just a strictly roster perspect we’re not even close that’s the thing we we’re just starting remember that 91 team was the culmination of a decade of dominance you know kind of just coming to a head right um and you think about some of those other teams I named from a roster perspective you know talented teams with veteran players Etc we we’re this is a young team first year of a recalibration we have no business being where we’re at but here we are look at us look at us um let’s see all right dcj says when skins get in I’m not worried about any of the playoff teams but I feel the toughest matchup is Green Bay agree um I don’t know it’s it I I like the way they’re playing football right now but we get to see them up close and personal tomorrow because we not playing so we get to watch that Minnesota Green Bay game tomorrow that’s gonna be a lot of fun um if they go into Minnesota and beat the Vikings yeah I I would I’m going to start to think that maybe the Packers are the most dangerous team in the NFC bracket because they’ve got the playoff experience they won a game last year they they’re not afraid to go on the road obviously we saw that last year they should have beat San Francisco in that game and and they just maybe lack the experience to get it done and close the show there but now this time around they might be like n we know what we got to do and um they played Philadelphia before so like if it came down to something like that they may be able to get it done like I mean let’s just say that they don’t win against Minnesota and we we end up with the six seed they end up with the seven seed you you do you think they’re incapable of going to Philadelphia and beating the Eagles because I damn sure think they can go to Philadelphia and beat the think about drafting a tight end round number one um I’m not the biggest fan of drafting a tight end in round one but if the guy is like Brock Bowers was worth drafting in the first round like if you find one of those types of dudes you pull the trigger like I wasn’t a fan of Kyle Pitts being drafted where he was I thought Atlanta needed to draft a quarterback but um generally I’ll tell you of all the positions tight end is one of the the few where if you draft him in the first round a lot of times you don’t get the return on investment a lot of times on first round tight ends like TJ hackinson was drafted in the first round by the Lions when before it became time to pay him they traded him to Minnesota right like not that he was a mistake but like yeah not really trying to pay him you can have him Eric Ebron first round tight end like yeah I’m good on Eric Ebron right like most most tight ends like you can find really good tight ends in uh second third fourth fifth etc etc right like um now again know what you’re looking for know what a guy is worth and understand what he brings to the table what the value is and then you you draft accordingly but I mean did did you not see Trey McBride tonight I know a lot of commanders fans who wanted Trey McBride in the draft two three years ago when he was coming out of Colorado State I I know at least three commanders fans that were hellbent on drafting that dude like yo Trey McBride is the guy I’m telling you Trey McBride is a beast okay that ain’t a first round pick the Lions tight end Beast that ain’t a first round pick George um KD beast that ain’t a first round pick at the tight end position I could keep going you look at the best tight ends Travis Kelce not a first round pick like we keep going and you’ll be hard pressed to find a first round pick tight end that’s that’s like oh my God he’s killing the game and I’m not and I’m not telling you that they’re not good the bills have Dalton k k he’s really good that’s the first round pick and and I’m pretty sure we could pull two or three more dudes like I just said Brock Bowers in two years probably best tight end in the NFL that’s a first round pick but for every one of those dudes you’ll find two or three dudes that were drafted second to fifth round that are just as good if not better and that’s the thing with the tight end position so I’m open to it like the Penn State kid he looks he looks like a winner right winner winner chicken dinner like I would love to add a dude like that to the in the mix but to me that’s a luxury drafting a tight end in the first round and if you’re in a position to do that knock yourself out we need stuff and if you’re telling me that the best value is the tight end okay I’m with it but if there’s a tackle there if there’s a corner there if there’s an edge rusher there these are positions that I think are of higher value that are bigger needs for the commanders and so again you might just be asking me a general vague question about drafting a tight end you may not be talking team specific but if you are talking about the commanders in particular we got other pressing needs and so if the tight end is the best value then take him like I’m I’m never going to reach because of a need that’s what Rivera did for years which is why none of his draft picks are still here he reached for needs or oh we need turnovers so we’re gonna draft the guy that had the most turnovers in college football last year instead of taking the best corner which is what we needed a corner so uh we need a linebacker so he reached for Jamon Davis instead of just drafting the best player available they were good second round linebackers that year you didn’t need to do that and there were other guys like J that you could have taken if you were going to spend the first round pick but again um I just want him to do the the right thing the responsible thing and that might be drafting a tackle or a corner or an edge good some of these teams were obviously you were three in 99 that was a really good team um that was the best chance we had to make it to the Super Bowl in the last 25 years that 99 team we should have beat Tampa Bay we would have been in the NFC championship game we would have been playing the greatest show on Turf and I’m not sure that we wouldn’t beat them I don’t think we would have beat him but you couldn’t convince me that we couldn’t beat them um but we never got that shot but that was a good team in 99 to me the best team we’ve had over the last 25 years but um 2005 was a good team but Brunell got hurt late in that season and we just didn’t have enough Talent either you know um but that team was dangerous 05 because that was a good defensive team so you had a shot um 2012 they were okay that wasn’t a really that wasn’t a great roster that was really Robert and you know Alfred Morris and the Shanahan scheming it up and kind of Robert taking the league by storm but we weren’t super talented um and that year it wasn’t until 2015 and 16 when we got super talented with DeShawn and Pierre and you know Jameson Crowder came on board and you know Jordan Reed came into his own and that’s when you really started to see the talent manifest itself but we didn’t play good defense then either so um this is the first time where the defense isn’t half bad you don’t have a ton of talent but you got Terry um and S and Jayden DS is the biggest thing that makes this team different because you got one of them ones you got shot man he elevates the play of everybody so um and it’s a well- coached team it’s very well coached team and I get that you’re you’re not really worried about anybody but Philly and in Detroit but um anybody can get got this time of the year so but those are those are the two best teams I mean and don’t sleep on Minnesota I I know it’s easy to do because they got Sam darnold and we keep doing this Sam darnold thing but bro they 13 and two like at some point you just got to be like yo Sam darnold is having himself a year and maybe this is who he is moving forward like some guys get it later than others and maybe the bulb has finally come on for Sam darnold like maybe this is who he is moving forward Maybe not maybe he’s having a Case Keenum Moment Like Case Keenum did in you know 17 with the Minneapolis miracle and all that [ __ ] then to take him down the field in a you know game winning situation and he had to make it happen and he’s done it so yeah I I don’t think you could sleep on Minnesota either feels good feels good though to have one of them ones to to be in the position that we’re in now we just got to close the show red house not roadh house thank you for the Super Chat greatly appreciate you red house not roadh house uh double uh uh who writes Bears Seahawks game was bad I like Caleb but wow yeah it was pretty bad it was that was the worst game of the season by far I mean we’ve had some you know no touchdown Clunkers this year but that one took the cake 63 yeah that that one that was really reminiscing I know I know none of you watch this game last year and bless your heart but the Patriots the Chargers played a three to zero game last year three to zero this was reminiscent of that it was bad it was it was bad man um but the least of Patriots Chargers game last year wasn’t on National Television that that bears Seahawks game was on national TV for everybody to see and that Patriots Chargers game was played in like 30 you know 30 mph wind gust in that game there was no such wind gust no inclement weather no excuse for the Bears in the Seahawks to combine for nine points that [ __ ] was hideous but hey somebody won and somebody lost that’s all that matters as I always tell y’all but I digress um time to get out of here we almost at the twoh hour mark which is way past our limit here but you know it was a it was a unique show triple header we broke down all the games so uh just to quickly recap Chargers take care of the Patriots in the first game of the triple header um 47 clinch a playoff birth congratulations to the Los Angeles Chargers and their fan base they deserve this now the question is how high can you go right can you get to five because if you get to five I see you winning a playoff game you remain at six and there’s a chance you could still win a playoff game but it’s a lot less likely you play Buffalo you play the the Ravens we’ve already seen you play the Ravens once this season it did not go well um I remembered khil Mack saying Derek Henry wasn’t anything special we might see y’all again and I was like yeah I wouldn’t have done that really didn’t see the value in that but I I remember I think I told y I said I think this is a first round matchup I think I told y’all that I think we gonna see this match up again but that doesn’t bold well for the Chargers let just say that your goal is to get to number five because you can beat Houston I think anybody that’s in the playoffs wants Houston in round one because they look very vulnerable Chargers take care of business clinch their playoff birth and now um have that eyes set on the five seed but they’re going to need a little help to get that done um Patriots Yeah Drake May solid but again lot of work to do for that football team got to get some Talent around that young fella but um today was pretty ugly I must say um the second game was the game of the day Broncos Bengals we kind of knew that of the three games that one was going to be the most compelling um the night cap had more on the line so that’s why that one and I told y’all what the three games would be you know I went over the five games that the NFL had at their disposal I said they’re going to take this Commander Falcons game probably Flex it to Sunday Night Football which they did I said which leaves you with you know the other four games and I told you that the best three options would be the three that they picked and I said the order in which they would be played was the way that they were played today uh with you know Chargers and Patriots being the first game because they had playoff implications for the Chargers um Bengals and the you know Broncos playoff implications between the two teams and then the night cap was huge because you know the Rams win and they could clinch you know by the end of business tomorrow they lose that game and you set up a situation where it’s Winner Takes all in week 18 so um that Broncos Bengals game felt like a playoff game the intensity um the environment the back and forth the es and flows the big plays being made the missed opportunities everything about that felt like a big game they did not disappoint go to overtime you have The Dramatics in overtime the Miss field goal then the T Higgins catch and then ultimately Joe Boro saying I got to do this myself uh and throws the touchdown pass to to T Higgins his third of the game to secure the victory 30 to 24 and overtime Bengals get to 500 for the first time all season I don’t think they’ve been at 500 at any point this season they started off the season 0 in three or four and and never really rebounded from that well here they are at eight and eight now Joe burrow has put this team on his back and can he complete what would be one of the greatest resurrections we’ve SE seen here in recent memory by Leading a Bengals team that we left for dead several times over a month ago um to the post season somehow someway well this was a huge step in that direction with the 30 to 24 Victory uh for the for the Broncos tough loss you know heart fought had opportunities didn’t get it done but you still can clinch next week you know and so as much as you’re going to Lament The missed opportunities and everything being right there in front of you just get done next week and and all of this is a moot point right tough loss though bonck played well but didn’t play well enough to get them to win I thought they should have gone for two but that was just me right and I trust your defense they got one of the best defenses in football defense stood up got them a stop to kick off overtime and gave them the football all they need nether was a field goal couldn’t get it done so um I would have gone for two but I get it and the defense made him right the offense just didn’t pay it off so they dropped to uh nine and seven to the Broncos and now they got a fight go into week 18 and now they got a fight for that last seventh and final playoff spot in the AFC again will make for compelling theater next week and then um your night cap 13 to9 victory for the Rams another low-scoring affair that the Rams find a way to win I think it was 12 to9 last week if I’m not mistaken against 49ers this week it’s 13 to9 um a wins a wins a win in the National Football League so they got it done again but it wasn’t pretty and um they probably should have lost this game the Cardinals I I’ll I’ll just say this the Cardinals outplayed the Rams in this game but the the the team that plays the best doesn’t always win they’re not always rewarded with the dub and uh Murray’s interception that he threw on that final possession B break that’s a hell of a play by um ailo Withers spone too to catch that football not really let it hit the ground not you know it did touch the ground but it was definitely in his possession when it touched the ground so um just a hell of a play there too preserved the victory 13 to9 they’re now 10 and six are the Rams and they’re in the driver seat they’re in the driver’s seat going to need some things to happen for them to clinch the the you know division without having to see Seattle next week to do so but even if that doesn’t transpire you’re at home with a chance to sweep the Seahawks got to take advantage of it right so Arizona dropped to seven and n and it’s a bit of pill because they were looking to finish this season up strong over 500 finish with a much better Mark in the division than they had the year before and really kind of build off of you know what they had done the first two years under you know Jonathan Ganon but this one stinks as you had it it was there and then it wasn’t Trey McBride is a beast um but unfortunately that last pass he didn’t have a chance off his helmet and ultimately picked off by
