[Music] it’s that time of year again the Lakers are currently in a drought and trade season is rampantly heating up and put the two together and you have a whole bunch of trade rumors and a bunch of players being linked to the purple and gold which currently does happen to be the case and although we’ve talked about a few of them already now it’s time to talk about a few former Lakers with those suing Brandon Ingram and Kyle kusma both of which were drafted by the team with Brandon Ingram being drafted back in 2016 and Kyle kusma being drafted in 2017 but also both them being traded by the Lakers too Ingram being a part of the Anthony Davis trade back in 2019 that would work out for them they want a championship obviously but then kusma being a part of the Russell Westbrook trade a trade that didn’t really work out for them and they later traded Westbrook too however now they might be circling back on both them no guarantees here obviously there never are when it comes to making a trade especially a hypothetical trade like this one but you never know and with both of them having been linked to their team not only this time but multiple times in the past getting back months if not even years at this point it might be a possibility both them are definitely available playing for two underwhelming teams right now kma being part of the 10 game Washington Wizards and Ingram being a part of the falling apart New Orleans Pelicans primarily by injury but also internal problems too and with that being said I think they are worth taking a look into at the bare minimum I’m talking about a little bit but before we get to far into it let’s go over our game day picks and we’ll be making them with my partner Underdog fantasy the best way to get in on the NBA action this season and if you want to follow along with me here’s what I got going for today’s slate if you’re a new member you can pick LeBron tab higher than 0.5 points so yeah take advantage of that free pick but then for pick number two or number one I myself have LeBron having higher than 20.5 points going back to Miami perfect game for a Redemption game for himself and to proof that he’s not washed up then for pick number two or number three I got Anthony Davis having higher than 0.5 assists during the first quarter currently averaging about two assists per game during the first quarter so I think he can get at least one then for my final pick I got wend Carter Jr having higher than 1.5 assists average about three per game since he came back so I think he can get at least two but if you’re looking to make your own picks then be sure to check out Underdog fantasy and don’t forget to use code JSM to get a free pick plus up to $1,000 in bonus cash when you make a deposit check them out in the video description down below but now getting back to our breakdown and I think we’ll Begin by talking about Brandon Ingram and again although there have been many trade rumors linking him to their team the new thing about him is that he actually left his previous agency and now signed with clutch Sports the agency kind of run by or co-run by LeBron James or his best friend rather Rich Paul and that’s usually an indicator that he might be on the Lakers radar plenty of clutch clients have come and gone to Lakers primarily through free agency but also a trade I mean Anthony Davis being one of them being a former New Orleans Pelican and therefore being traded to the Lakers thereafter which was heavily facilitated by clutch so maybe that might repeat itself again with Ingram Ingram might be hurt right now but he was quietly having a really good year prior to getting hurt and he’s not dealing with anything serious right now A minor calf injury and at this point kind of being the only healthy New Orleans Pelican or it feels that way and averaging about 23 points per game 5.8 rebounds per game 5.4 assists per game shooting 46.5% from the field and 36.4% from three on about seven attempts per game always been a well-rounded player can do a a little bit of everything on the court be a primary scoring option play off the ball a little bit be a good playmaker a good rebounder and a good Defender when he needs to be as well kind of hard to believe but he’s only 27 years old yet has been in the NBA for about 9 years at this point but somehow only 27 won’t be declining anytime soon that’s not something you’d have to worry about if You’ look to trade for him so that would be a plus but there are a few Cons with Brandon Ingram one of which being his health not the fact that is kind of hurt right now that’s not the primary worry here the real worry is that he has never played over 70 games in his NBA career after his rookie year that’s definitely a problem he tends to miss about 20 to 25 even 30 games every season and that’s something you definitely do got to factor in I mean the Lakers already have enough injuries between Jared Vanderbilt and Christian Wood right now gab vent last season and various other ones along the way they’ve definitely had their fair share of injuries so obviously wouldn’t be a great thing for them to trade for a fairly injury prone player like Brandon Ingram I mean we’re not talking about Zan Williamson here not to that level but he does tend to get hurt and you probably would have to think about that when making a trade for him and then finally you got to factor in what it would take to get him and match his contract through a trade and for the Lakers that would mean trading both a D’Angelo Russell and Ruby hachima along with a minimum contract like Maxwell Lewis or Christian Wood and although I’m opposed to trading DLo and haimo for the talent of Brandon Ingram you then would have to factor in draft picks and you’re talking about trading for a guy in expiring contract so they would not only have to pay him to retain him but then have to work out a long-term deal with him and convince him to resign with their team which obviously would be helped by the fact that he signed with clutch again that would help them he’s working with Rich Paul and that’s probably a pretty good indicator that he would be signed with their team but then again you never know going back to the draft picks here they would defin definitely have to include one first round draft pick at the bare minimum and with the Lakers only having two tradable first round draft picks that’s already a pretty steep price especially for a expiring contract again I think it might be worth it but that’s really depending on who you ask here lots of Pros but lots of cons to between the injury history having to pay him and work out a new contract with him and then what it would take to get him there definitely are factors to Brandon Ingram and then if you’d even be available to begin with the Pelicans were really weary about trading with the Lakers when I came to Anthony Davis and wanted to try and get everything they can from them and rightfully so I don’t blame them but they would probably look to do that again with Brandon Ingram and overall I think it makes sense in some ways but maybe not in other ways he probably wouldn’t be my favorite trade Target but I would not be entirely opposed to it it would all come down to price and how many draft picks it would take to get Brandon Ingram moving on though to KY kusma he happens to be available as well according to reports the Lakers are actually one of the teams looking at him according to Michael Scot and that’s definitely a collection of teams with them though including the Miami Heat Milwaukee Bucks Golden State Warriors and Cleveland Cavaliers plenty of teams monitoring him and again likely because he will be available if not already is I mean Washington currently happens to be the worst team in the NBA both by record and the way they look they’re definitely facing a long-term rebuild here at the bare minimum of about 2 to 3 years so at that point kakusa would be about 32 years old feels kind of weird to say that but he does happen to be 29 years old now even older than branon Ingram so kind of weird to think about that but he would be a good fit for a contender nonetheless that’s not old very contending team and would fit right into a team like the Lakers with about a 1 to twoe window left with LeBron James and although it would be plenty controversial for them to trade back for him again they did trade him away as part of the Russell Westbrook trade it wouldn’t be the worst idea in my opinion maybe not the best idea maybe not the best plan or fit for them but a pretty good fit nonetheless and a proven player with LeBron and Anthony Davis I know some people don’t like Kyle kusma I’m personally not one of them I think he’s a pretty good NBA player and would feel with a majority of contending teams with his skill set and overall what he has to offer a pretty ver style player can be a good scoring option for your team about a third scoring option if needed average about 13 points per game with LeBron and Anthony Davis and then about 19 points game after being traded to Washington and then on top of that a very good rebounder for a wing his highest per game average in one season happened to be about 8.5 per game including about 35 double doubles that year so definitely can be a hard worker on the glass for your team and fairly versatile on the wing can defend the wing maybe not a great defender but is switchable can defend guards a little bit and bigger Wing players so that would help a team like the Lakers out and then while he might not be the most efficient three-point shooter only about 33.6% on his career not great but not terrible he definitely can fit better in a catch and shoot roll and from the corner as well a 39% career Corner three-point shooter and actually shot 42.3% from 2019 to 2021 with LeBron and Anthony Davis can feel that off ball role while being a scoring threat as well averaging between 13 to 15 points per game being an efficient Corner three-point shooter and being a plus Defender would mean a very good player for any team and especially for a team like the Lakers who need a bigger Wing that can be a two-way player and that’s what Kyle kusma can be at times but then finally for what it would take to get him you definitely could make the trade in a few different ways but I think if you’re trading anyone here and to match a contract with kusma you would be looking at trading ruy hachima if you’re trading for a bigger forward you probably want to trade one away you don’t want a log Jam within the rotation especially if and when Jared vilt ever comes back so you probably will be looking at trading haima here in addition to him you got to throw in Jaylen HUD Chino and a guy like Christian Wood to make the money work and that would make the trade work whether they would want a draft pick here or not this up for debate I probably won’t be willing to include a first one draft pick maybe a second round draft pick or two but I probably wouldn’t go a first round draft pick it definitely helps like Whois Miss under contract for two years after this one you wouldn’t be at risk of losing him for nothing he can’t leave their team during free agency so that would be a plus but not quite enough to make me give up a first round draft pick that would be reserved for a boardline Allstar like Brandon Ingram not a guy like KY kusma definitely can help their team but I’m not giving up a first one draft pick in addition to ruy hachimura I think he’s definitely an upgrade over hachimura based on his skill set and what he could offer their team let alone any team I would take him over haimura but again not enough to give up a first R draft pick and with that being said I think both Brandon Ingram and kma are potentially good trade targets but they heavily depend on what their price is if the Lakers have to give up a first round draft pick more than one first round draft pick or what it would take in that regard and then what the Pelicans and wizards would want for them in regard to a player swap would they want D’Angelo Russell would they want ruy haimura or what combination of players would they want all of that would factor in and my potential decision to make a trade for them or not with that in mind though what do you guys think how would you feel about a trade for former ler Brandon Ingram or former ler KY kusma like let me know your thoughts in the comments down below but I think that’ll pretty much do it for this one and
