way today started felt like it was going to be the busiest day of the off season with big names on the Move early and then a complete drop off in the afternoon I thought everybody was getting their Christmas shopping done some late last minute Christmas shopping by the New York Mets the Boston Red Sox the Texas Rangers the Tampa Bay Rays and then everything slowed down but what we had were some really really big moves the Mets and the Red Soxs both addressing big glaring needs and I had criticized both franchises for missing out on Jesus lazardo and while Jesus lazardo is a great picture and two years of Jesus lazardo would have been better than one year of Walker berer fact that the matter is two of the teams that I felt should have been on in on losardo both got the starting pitching that they needed for the 2025 season for the Red Sox it’ll be Walker be and just the 2025 season likely I mean who but but you know what who knows if he pitches well I would think Boston would be the would have the leg up on an extension and that could be big long term especially if he is the guy he showed us again in the postseason for the Dodgers that would be fantastic for Boston and from a Mets perspective what have I been saying about the New York Mets if you don’t believe me uh now you now you should this New York Mets team what they three years for manah they’re not any of these pitchers that you hear about four five six years just that’s not their game higher aav shorter ter now there’s a ton of deferred money over a long stretch of time here but the fact of the matter is it’s a three-year contract that’s about the for for pitchers in their 30s that’s about what you’re going to get in terms of a length of contract with with the current philosophy the current approach that’s where they’re at that’s why they’re not going to be in on Blake Snell they’re not going to be in on Max free they’re not going to be in on Corbin Burns because those are five six 7ye deals but for the Mets great job for the Red Sox great job I like what the Rangers did so we’ll dig into that we’ll also what’s up King we’ll also talk about Pete Alonzo Alex bregman Nolan AR ronado Vladimir Guerrero Jr all teed up in this one we’ve got two and if you’ve been sort of rooting around you know what’s is out there and I have thoughts on it if you haven’t been rooting around then the two new pieces of information that have come to light in the last 24 to 36 hours will be new to you and fascinating when we find out when I tell you how much the Toronto Blue Jays offered Vladimir Guerrero Jr coming out of his phenomenal 2021 season and the deadline he has imposed to get an extension done so uh we’re going to dig into all of what’s going on I appreciate you guys coming in spending some time hanging out with me here uh those of you that are live make sure to smash that like we are looking to blow past the 100 like goal as soon as we can make sure to subscribe if you have not yet and let’s dig into this thing so first up again the the big signing of the day came around was at 1: or 2 a.m. sha manah back to the New York Mets a three-year deal I was hoping this would happen I was skeptical that it would happen because I felt manah would go out there and Chase the 100 million four fiveyear deal and I think there certainly were I mean we we heard reports that he went for the higher aav shorter years to go back to the new New York Mets giving the Mets a rotation now that’s coming together so let’s let’s let’s just let’s give David Sterns some credit that between Frankie monos and Klay Holmes one of them will really work out in that rotation so you feel good about manah you feel great about SGA you feel good about David Peterson after how he pitched last year Montas Holmes if one of them works out then you’re feeling good there after that if you’re worried about the fifth and final spot in your rotation then you’ve got a good rotation then that that that can be addressed through the trade market in season and maybe there are some answers that arise during spring training this is good yes we do have four train express I do have some Yankee Yankee talk uh in in a few minutes I really like this for the New York Mets when we’re thinking about the Mets and how high they can climb next season they had to go out and get another starting pitcher and outside of Corbin Burns manah whether it was in the trade market or the free agent Market might have been the best piece left outside of Corbin Burns and I say that because I don’t know how serious Seattle is about trading Luis Castillo they may have some ungodly through the roof uh valuation on him and and and and you can’t even trade Tristan costes for him um so we don’t know how serious Seattle really is about making that trade when it comes to the free agent market after Corbin Burns you’re looking at guys like Verlander uh you were looking at uh bu who went off the board a few hours later I mean we’re kind of running we got Jack Flare still out there manah flarity next year who has the better year I would not be surprised at all if sha manah has the better year compared to any of the other again outside of burns any of the other free agents that were available so the New York Mets strike and I had manah as one of the top five starting pitchers available this off season you had Snell you had Burns you had freed and then really after that it was Different Strokes for different from folks what do you like uh that I’m sure some people would put flarity up there I did I had uh my five were the three that I just mentioned plus manah plus flurty that was my top five so they grabbed now it’s been a minute right it’s December 23rd we’ve been doing this whole offseason thing now for what six seven weeks took time but they got the job done they were a little busy a little preoccupied with the whole Wan sto thing so I like the Rangers right no way they moved Duran Smith with rocker lighter and maybe another Prospect for clay I did see that the arrangers are interested in resigning kirby8 I think that that really should get done don’t you feel like that like there will be teams that maybe there could be some hesitancy on kirby8 I think the Rangers would be all in I think that that is a great fit big business thank you for the donation I think the Rangers I agree with you I do I do believe they have to resign Kirby with what they’re doing resigning avaldi signing jock Peterson it tells me that the Rangers have high expectations at at getting back into the conversation you get some some players that dealt with injuries last year you get them back you have to have your focus on the bullpen Yates would be a great piece to bring back so as far as the Mets go must happen move that finally happened good job another thing that had to happen was Boston had to go out and get another starting pitcher and they did that with Walker beer and again I applaud this one this was right up the Red Sox alley this was perfect this was almost this was maybe the most when you think about it inevitable signing of the off season after we got to a point I believe it was I I believe it was Rosenthal in the athletic put out some information a couple weeks ago that the Red Sox John Henry specifically that ownership kind of gunshy31 fer crochet lead rotation with Hal and beo this is a Red Sox rotation now we look at it I mean fangraphs slotted ber into the number five spot if Walker bu’s pitching the same way in 2025 as he was in the postseason and to close out the regular season this is crochet and bu at the top followed by and I see Walker Beer’s like peering over my shoulder here creeping creeping on me get out of here dude go go go to Boston haven’t you heard you’re you’re there now get out of here I like this rotation Boston had to do it the years were uncomfortable I could have seen a flarity thing but for some reason it just flarity is lingering and it it kind of gives you maybe some concern is he asking too much teams prioriti izing others too high you got to think that the Roki Sasaki thing is certainly uh I mean we’re hearing that Sasaki may choose his team before Corbin Burns chooses his team because teams in on the burn sweep Stakes are thinking well maybe we’ll do that and because of it burns has to wait is that why flarity is waiting too I mean we’ve seen guys of a similar caliber sign deals what’s going on with Jack flarity why do we have nothing happening with Jack flarity there’s teams out there that still need pitching check it out three specifically that are getting lapped on the free agent pitching Market I know Sago is in Baltimore but I want if I’m Baltimore more I want lazardo I want crochet I want more because two things I don’t know I know what Sagano was overseas but Sagano I’m not expecting him to come over and be SGA and Yamamoto because those P those guys are much younger than Sagano you’re a mid to late 30s PCT love of God tell me what the reds are waiting for they need to add that outfielder before they force themselves to sign a has Ben Sean what’s happening is the Outfield Market is sort of stalled and I I gotta think it’s maybe teoscar Hernandez because you’ve got T osar you got santon dere you have jerks and profar those are three very capable pieces the we’re seeing them get jumped by jock Peterson who’s really DH right Peterson uh Max Kepler Cana wait no Cana hasn’t signed McCutchen has signed though uh O’Neal signed we’ve seen them get sort of jumped but I think it’s because those three Hernandez santand and profar when you if you ranked the outfielders they were however you want to slice it two three and four and people are jumping them because the the they maybe teoscar the deal with LA can’t get done I don’t know but similar to the Mets the Mets very patiently navigated through this off season and still wound up with Shawn manah the Cincinnati Reds very patiently navigate through and wind up with jerks and profar and you’ll be happy wind up with Anthony sere tasar Hernandez a trade for Luis Robert and I think you’ll be happy and again Luis Robert in Cincinnati with Fran cona as the manager I I really like that that fit there I would like some other longterm longstanding veteran uh voices in that Clubhouse to sort of be there CU he’ll get one message from Francona and it would be great to have multiple Big Time personalities uh on on a on a positive note Tim big fan really enjoying the Vlog meditating business manown skin s OD micro a traffic light phone with arrow burito flexed bicep flexed bicep Flex bicep there it is three biceps this is a three bicep caliber stream thank you Craig I feel like you’ve got moves that need to be made just focusing on this um again thank you for the comment about the Reds that was from Sean thank you for the comment there’s opportunities there there are still four big opportunities if pieces start coming off the board and you’re hearing the reds are getting out bid and all that then then get nervous I wouldn’t get nervous yet when it comes to What’s Happening Here I want another pitcher for the Orioles I am basically counting Kyle bradish out for the year I feel like this team maybe Grayson Rodriguez ascends to a clear number one ace level but outside of that it feels like this team has a lot of threes and fours on a championship caliber team I feel like the Baltimore Orioles rotation is loaded with threes and fours and maybe that’s enough I don’t think it’s enough though so the Baltimore Orioles Sano great really dig into it really dig into it bring Corbin Burns back step up your trade game call Seattle get a deal done for Luis Castillo is stop T tiptoeing and dancing around the matter the San Francisco Giants it was great that they went out and brought Willie Adamas on board that sort of sent a message that since that message was sent there’s been no Echoes like I thought that that was going to be a message that would then Echo throughout ring throughout Major League Baseball and it hasn’t happened right I mean you can run the same lineup out there out you bring in Willie Adamas but nothing else is going to happen there’s still time but really I don’t want to get hung up on Thea because actually I say that but I like Wade I like adamus Chapman kind of grew on me a little bit last year so um andan there’s some nice pieces the lineup I like it I shouldn’t say that the lineup I like it this is directed at the pitching web Ray who trusts Robbie Ray Jordan Hicks might be better in the bullpen Kyle Harrison I think he’s got a bright future you need another piece and pieces are coming off the board why unless Walker beer didn’t want to go there why are you not the team that won the Walker beer sweep Stakes give him a couple million dollars more on top of it one year let’s do it the San Francisco Giants let me check their payroll real quick from a standpoint point of the luxury tax they are currently sitting their estimated luxury tax for 2025 is at $27 million remember the first threshold is at $241 that gives them $34 million to play with and if you give 23 million to Walker ber or if you were the team that went to 21 if you got Walker bu you still have 13 million to invest in the bullpen and you could argue that by bringing Walker Beeler on board you could have or trading for Jesus lazardo who’s going to be considering what he’s going to give you incredibly cheap if you’re the Giants you have um you move Hicks to your Bullpen and you are improving your Bullpen by improving your rotation I don’t like what we’re seeing out of the Giants and the Toronto Blue Jays just s seem to be distracted by the shiny object at at the other side of the room while objects are coming at them that they could maybe easily grab or swipe or or give their focus to because it is an object that is easier for them to grab they are distracted and focused on the object that is shiny that is far away and is closer to to other possible Landing spots do you really think the Blue Jays are going to have corbon Burns in that rotation is it so and and and let me ask you this if the Blue Jays are so focused on Corbin Burns is it because they feel like they need another starting pitcher or is it because they feel like they need to make a splash someone wake up the Padres what’s going on Jim I got you one second Matthew the Toronto Blue Jays while they’re focused on Juan stto missing out on pieces they’re F they’re they’re they’re they’re trying to get a vlat thing done um that’s late they are focusing on Corbin Burns guys if the Toronto Blue Jays want to improve their rotation why aren’t they trading for Jesus lazardo why aren’t they signing Walker bu there is a a a frustration that is growing that has peaked when it comes to the Toronto Blue Jay because when you look at the Blue Jays with gsman and BOS and Basset you have a solid one two three Bowden Francis earned an opportunity to have a rotation spot they spent money on yariel Rodriguez last year the bullpen brought in a couple pieces but has the bullpen really been upgraded Alec Manoa is back at some point next year if you really feel like you need to upgrade the rotation how about we how about we focus on some pieces that we can actually go and grab and I think these short-term deals like a one-year deal with Walker bu is a deal you could have had I think chasing the five sixe contract guys those guys probably don’t want anything to do with you because you don’t have your five or six year plan in order so why would they come over to Toronto when they see the Orioles Rising the Yankees at the top they see the Red Sox Rising where are you it’s it’s wildly frustrating to see what’s going on and speaking of frustrating well before we do let me get to the Super Chat uh I I’m not going to see it over there let’s grab it over here Matthew the Padres the Padres are going to have to be a team that plays this off season very strategically because to make moves they’re going to have to find a trade partner for either Dylan CE or Lis arise and you can’t make those trades on a whim because you are you could argue right now that they need those two in 2025 that Outfield looks kind of weak right now and you’re going to take a bat look if if you’re if you’re going to have a weak spot in the Outfield let me see it’s the left fielder but it’s not just the left fielder right uh we have we have multiple issues here in San Diego yeah right now you’ve got a left field issue that’s the main problem you’ve got a DH that would not be at the major league level I think for anybody else so and and a and a bench that is about as shallow as you could you could put together if that’s the situation then the argument is no we need to keep Luis arise because if we trade Lis arise for just salary relief we’re in trouble for prospects we’re in trouble we need to get in a trade for Louis arise yes we would like to get a prospect but we also need somebody back now that’s going to help us and if we’re going to trade Dylan CE we need to get two pieces back that can help us it’s got it is it’s it’s threat it feels like it’s threading a needle with the moves that the Padres this this feels like it is the off seon of threading the needle for the San Diego Padres so it’s different it’s frustrating but it’s different than in the past this is this is a different era that they are the San Diego Padres have entered right now their payroll for 2025 is at 244 the first luxury tax level is 241 when they hand out their arbitration dollars they are over that first threshold and if you sign any substantial free agent if you sign jerks and Prof far to come back you’re possibly crossing over to that second luxury tax threshold and that doesn’t work for the San Diego Padres so this is a San Diego situation that is challenging arise is is projected to make $14.6 million Dylan CE is 13.7 I argue arise is the piece if you can trade Louis arise and bring back a cheap picture here let’s think about this for a second guys let’s think about this I got some vlat stuff coming up in a minute uh but I want to I want to run this through for a minute so Louis arise again $14.6 million so you got to find somebody that’s okay with that number one but he looking for a bat here’s I wonder I wonder now here’s what’s made it challenging is that the first base Market there’s been a lot of movement right a lot of movement is there who’s Texas going to have at first base now that low is traded so with low out the door who do we have lined up at first base you Burger yeah I guess that’s probably what you’re going to do that is that that is 100% what you’re going to do you didn’t trade you didn’t give up the prospects for burer for him to not play So you you’re G Jake burer is going to be a first so Texas does not need a first baseman anymore with that in mind if you’re trying to think about a taker for Louis arise a team that needs a first baseman do the Mets do it could the Mets do it that’s actually kind of interesting so if okay here you go Mets the Padre’s fans or just every anybody here’s my offer to you do you think this trade Works Louis arise to the Mets and and you take this final year of arbitration you tell pet Alonzo screw you man you didn’t take our offer we’re not we’re not into a six-year deal with you 5year deal with you because we want to make a run at vlat next year so forget it offers off the table if you’re the Mets you trade for Lis arise he’s your first baseman you take all that money now taking all that money from San Diego means you’re going to be able to trim down the return you could probably turn Louis arise if you’re the Mets I feel like it could be as simple as Tyler McGill if you sent Tyler McGill what if you sent Tyler Mcgill and Tyrone Taylor could you do that would you do that if you’re a Mets turning Tyler Mcgill and Tyrone Taylor into L Louisa rise if you’re San Diego you are taking a projected $5 million back in their arbitration you are but so so you’re coming out $9 million ahead that pulls you below the first luxury tax threshold that gives you a veteran pitcher that you can add into your rotation for for the next 3 years which I mean gives you some depth there and as far as left field goes you get you you add in uh Taylor have a good one John it’s not about the return package it’s not about getting equal value it’s about getting the money off the goddamn books it’s about getting us below the first luxury tax threshold it’s about maybe giving us some money to invest on a depth piece or a bullpen piece that we don’t have right now it’s about giving us another starting pitcher I don’t know that’s that’s what it is Vindicator you disagree with me because let’s say if if you’re doing that then you are likely going to be bringing back if you are trading Louis arise you you will most likely be then trading for a piece to come back that also has significant money attached to it because if you’re now trying to grab a piece that is low on the dollar scale you’re looking at somebody that is in pre-arbitration maybe arbitration one or two and at that point it just I don’t see I don’t see how the dollars work the whole reason why we’re talking about Luis arise and Dylan C traits are not to improve the ball Club the reason why we’re talking about arise and seas trades is all money driven that’s what it is you’re not going to you’re not trying to trade Dylan CE for some Supreme bat it’s money driven and if you are trying to just get your full value back you’re probably going to be taking a lot of money back and if you’re not going to be doing that then you’re probably if you’re trying to get the full value then you’re getting prospects screw that cease for Akuna and blackburner cease for Taylor a reward and read I feel like you are going to be getting you you get prospects back and Prospects don’t help you right now Matthew seize for aunia and Blackburn or seize for Taylor or Ward and [Music] Reed I don’t think the Mets are trading Louis on hunia now if they signed Alex bregman may maybe that makes him available but Dylan CE is a rental Matthew Dylan CE is a rental Louis an hunia has got five years of control that doesn’t work I don’t see I I don’t I don’t see it Jim who do you think will be the Yankees third um now the ward thing is interesting Taylor Ward and Reed if you get Taylor Ward back Taylor Ward $9 million Reed demmer’s and that’s for cease the question would be do the Angels view Dylan CE as the missing piece I don’t know I can I can see uh the thought process there I can see it uh let me see where is uh Israel who do you think will be the Yankees third baseman uh Jazz Chisum did I say that quick enough did I say that fast enough it’s gonna be Jazz Chism because Jazz Chism plays third base right is he here is that guy here from the other night I just want to make sure that we don’t have to do like five minutes of jazz Chism and in all Third Base the whole that whole thing socks fan need they need more than that for for for Dylan CE I I’ll say this right now right chilltown knows right now I believe can’t be the only bat we get we need the power bat so if we get him and sign Brey or pet I might be interested I feel like thank you King I feel like trying to pinpoint what the trade would be for arise or for cease is really challenging because of San Diego’s motives typically when you’re trying to pull off a trade the motive is we are trying to get value equal to the player and I think that is certainly the goal but when you are sitting in a spot where you are over when and when everybody knows what’s going on when you are over the first luxury tax threshold and that doesn’t work anymore and Lisa rise is a difficult trade as well I mean King just just just pinpointed it Louisa rise is a great hitter but what was his and this is coming into play whether you like war or not wasn’t Louis AR rise’s War last year like one point something like it was really bad um let me see Lis arise is is almost like if you’re trying to build the case against War you may go for yeah Luis arise last year his war was 1.1 and whether you like war or or not that comes into play so CE is the more valuable asset which I I if I’m forging a path I’m keeping Dylan CE I am trying to find a trade partner for Louisa rise and I’m understanding that his war is where it is I can get better by trading Lis arise because I can and God bless thank you Goomba I appreciate it man thank you for the donation thank you for the kind words I like it Matthew we are banking too much on Roki so probably here’s let’s think about this too Roki Sasaki is certainly a a piece to be considered here because if San Diego does get him maybe that motivates them to pull the trigger on a Dylan C trade that that’s that that’s very likely that they’re they will only trade Dylan CE if they land Sasaki and if they don’t they’re going to roll with Dylan CE and if that’s the case I think a Louis arise trade is inevitable what you need to do is you need to get if you’re trading Luis arise two pieces that help you right now I’m I’m not interested in prospects if I’m doing the arise trade I’m I’m trying to get a pitcher and a hitter I’m trying to get my money down now maybe Mill now the funny thing is if you throw that into baseball trade values I think it would heavily sway in favor of the New York uh as as a uh a Mets overpay I believe Mill has high value I’m not sure Taylor’s off the top of my head but I want to get I want to try to get a pitcher that I can insert into my rotation give me Innings give me starts give me upside because I think Mill still has upside and I want to get a a bat and when I’m thinking about a bat I want to get a major league ready bat Taylor is the guy that I first saw on my screen here maybe there’s another piece k who are we doing who are we doing if we’re not doing if we’re not doing Taylor is there another bat that we could send you want to spin Jose Siri off already before he even plays a game you spin Jose Siri off he could be the left fielder for the San Diego Padres yeah so it’s this the situation what’s how much money is mcneel actually making this year he’s making go he’s making 15 million sheesh they can’t trade King the uh Michael King piece he’s of the three big arbitration guys he’s third he’s he’s lowest on that list you uh Michael King is a free agent at the end of the year but Michael King is projected to make half of what Lis arise is going to make and what and half potentially of what Dylan CE is going to make so you keep Michael King Michael King is staying but I feel like those dollars those arbitration dollars for arise and cease make them right to be traded Chris the issue with the J’s rotation is is projected to be 26th in baseball via seam of projections 26th in baseball that seems like a projection model failure that’s not with Marios and Gosman and Basset am I being a blue jays Homer in thinking that that is a very solid one two three like that’s good you can compete with that if you can get better than that great but when you have needs in other areas I feel like I want to go there the bat would Marte Mets pay most of the money add batty if you want to throw him in there too is it batty is it batty is it a batty see Batty go to Left Padre’s fans have hung up the phone at this point if you’re trading if you’re trading Louis arise for Miguel and batty Padre’s fans are revolting uh it it is a it is a full-on re Revolt in uh San Diego the bat would be Marte oh there you go Ed Ed nailed it thank you Ed Ed just nailed it that’s it that’s it Padres fans Mets friends are we can we do this deal Louis arise to the Mets heading to San Diego is Tyler Mcgill and Starling Marte and the Mets eat the Marte money are we there can we do that trade I feel like we’re closer that makes San Diego I mean again that that touches on multiple as aspects of the team yes you’re taking a drop from arise to Marte they’re they’re different bats you get your you have a left fielder you you can well who’s gonna play left Marte is gonna go play left I don’t know this is this is what I’m saying Padre’s are in a terrible spot Padres are in a awful awful spot all right let’s let’s speaking of awful spots speaking of awful spots the Toronto Blue Jays are in a pretty terrible spot when it comes to this Vladimir Guerrero Jr situation and it really didn’t get any better with what came out if you’re trying to gauge how are the Blue Jays negotiating how have they negotiated with him in the past Vladimir Guerrero Jr himself said he was offered 150 million for 7 years after 2021 he added that the team hasn’t been close to the amount he’s looking for that being now and the other key piece that we get here is that he’d be willing to negotiate till the first day of spring training they refer to it as Camp here and the $340 million offer was after Soto’s Pursuit there has been some time frame Hector Gomez said the 340 was before stto signed this is saying that the 340 was after the sto the whole Soto thing regardless of the timing we know where they’re at now we see where he they were at after his phenomenal 2021 season almost like they were trying to with that 150 because those would have been arbitration years they would have been paying for these first the the the arbitration years 22 23 and 24 they would have been paying for all the arbitration years and then the first couple years of free agency I mean why would you sign that I I I think this offer speaks to the Blue Jays not understanding where they’re at with their star player so we see them now now the aav on that turns it works out pretty good but everybody then knew knew and now knows how good Vladimir Guerrero Jr is and knows that’s that’s not going to happen when was the aunia deal done when did Ronald sign his extension that was hold on 2019 so if you recall after that aunia extension and because it feels like Toronto was almost trying to get away with the same thing that Atlanta got away with that aunia Braves extension almost immediately was sort of like it was a head scratcher was like why did he do that why would they do that this doesn’t make any sense and two years later Toronto was almost trying to pull the wool the same wool over vat’s eyes that the Braves had pulled over Ronald cuz Ronald was obviously worth way more than that so I don’t I don’t I don’t love seeing where again where where they’re at some of this stuff you just you just don’t want to become public that’s the other element to this vlat talking about this how does it how does that sit with this team if he’s putting this out there how does this sit with Ross Atkins and Mark chyro this is like dirt airing dirty laundry stuff this almost adds to my belief that Vladimir Guerrero Jr his Camp the Toronto Blue Jays and the Blue Jays front office they’re not in a good place with each other that’s my feeling we will see we have a deadline deadline is first day of spring training or when they report to Spring training what happens if they don’t have a deal done if they don’t have a deal done by spring training does Vladimir Guerrero Jr come out of the other side of spring training still as a Toronto bluej or will we be doing Vladimir Guerrero Jr trade talk in spring training if he is clearly not coming back once the Blue Jays have gone through this off season they see what their team is they see what deals they did and didn’t execute between now and then at the end of February it’s not great it’s not great being at 340 I I’ve been saying it now multiple times it all that does is set the bar that sets the bar when we get to free agency inevitable if vlat does not get a amount that he’s looking for from the Blue Jays 340 is the starting point and it goes far north from there not great speaking of not great if you are a Yankee fan and you want noan AR ronado on your team Curry is not the guy for you so we had heard that part of or not part of but if Paul goldshmid is on a team then Nolan arado would also be okay with being on that team and goldi signing the one-year deal with the New York Yankees feels like that has opened the door for Nolan arado to wave his no trade clause and head to the New York Yankees Jack Curry couldn’t be shooting it down more and he’s been doing this for some time now Darius clev was listening to Jack Curry I believe it was a spot on yes could have also been could have been on yes could have been on on on um uh on SNY or F no I’m getting my call signs confused Jack Curry whether it was again radio TV in New York the Yankees are not in on arado and this is echoing something he talked about a week ago and I don’t see it I I C was is it cardinals live on on Twitter keeps pushing out Nolan arado trade rumors that the Yankees are in on arado but I’ll say this when it comes to all of this Nolan ronado trade talk I find so much of it to be disbelieves had a deal and that Nolan aado turned it down I believe that I believe Jack Curry telling me that the Yankees aren’t in any rumors that come from anything linked to the Cardinals I I almost I have a hard time believing any rumors that have Nolan AR ronado linked to going to a team I maybe I’m just being skeptical I I well this is exactly what I’m doing I am very skeptical on a Nolan ronado trade because of his declining bat the inevitable decline defensively every front office knows this you trade for Nolan ronado and you take on a significant portion of his contract or damn near all of it you’re putting yourself in a situation that the Cardinals are in right now the Cardinals are trying to get rid of him because they don’t want to pay him so you’re going to come along and say hey we see the boat you’re in rickety as it is yeah sure we’ll hop in there now the Cardinals seem to be going south but is it Nolan arado and and conteras and and the other pieces on this team the Young Talent like aren’t these guys you want to build around you want to keep trying to go for it the answer is no the fact is our ronado makes too much money and that is go that that is going to be the case no matter where he goes so who wants to take that I don’t see it I don’t see all of these trade rumors linking him two teams I I I believe and I accept a lot of the rejected trade conversation that we’re hearing or a lot of the rejected trade rumors like this ja Curry saying the Yankees are not in I have a terrible time accepting all of the teams that are in on Nolan ronado there is a chance and it has been brought up that this Nolan aado uh this Nolan arado situation is hurting the Alex bregman market and with the trade rumors out there and teams talking to the Cardinals it’s certainly could if Alex bregman is asking for $200 million 7 years but you can get Nolan arado as I mean Alex bregman guys Alex bregman is making Nolan arado look like a bargain that’s where it’s at right now so anybody that’s linked to Alex bregman is almost hand inand uh linked to Nolan arado I’d be very surprised if we see R ronado deal I think Alex bregman has or Scott Boris has done a number on Alex bregman and his Market uh misread the room coming into this off season there were not five six seven eight strong teams for Nolan lonado at that dollar amount if you bring his dollar to to to to market value then you could have six seven eight teams but at the dollar amount you’re asking for there’s really maybe one or two teams and one of those team is the Blue Jays and that team is reeks of desperation right now and they’re not going to Pivot to Alex bregman until Corbin Burns inevitably signs with the Giants one of the other big signings today was Jock Peterson and I want to bring this up cuz I’m always I’m a jack Peterson guy and this is why look at look I know he’s going to chase out of the Zone he’s going to strike out but even still look at to generate a 94 percentile walk rate when you are chasing and you are striking out is is fascinating but a 908 Ops last year and he kind of went under the radar I don’t think any Blue Jays fan wanted jock Peterson I I think I was in a very empty room when it came to that but when you consider the power when you consider a 908 Ops from a left-handed bat like jock Peterson this felt like a perfect fit for a Toronto Blue Jays team that’s trying to find Value in well I don’t know if they’re try to find Value a deals right now in the past they have this year it feels like they are all about just making a splash trying to grab the headline player I really like this move for the Texas Rangers adding him into this lineup I mean this looks if if if you’re a Rangers Fan and you’re looking for something to get you excited about 2025 look at this lineup Simeon and Seager I think Langford explodes next year jock Garcia Young Carter bounceback burger at first this Rangers lineup looks really good you have a nice balance of righty and Lefty I’m jealous he has been up and down evil Zilla but look up down to a 908 Ops in 2024 an 81 career Ops I like jock Peterson I like the deal for the Texas Rangers let’s talk about Pete for a minute is there is there anybody other than the New York Mets that is is going to sign Pete Alonzo at this point um metsmerized online in an article I grabbed this because it was easy to grab here Ken Rosenthal on Fair territory earlier today quote the entire baseball industry believes the Mets will resign Pete Alonzo if they are going to resign Pete Alonzo how much is Pete Alonzo going to sign for and my feeling is look I I I’m I’m for Pete being a met but I start to wonder about the future of the Mets and Vladimir Guerrero Jr looming out there now the Mets may have to make a call here and say we don’t know if lat’s going to ever become a free agent maybe the Toronto Blue Jays will step up and get an extension done and if they do we can’t wait for vlat uh we have an opportunity to go grab Pete so we’re going to bring Pete back but you can’t you’re not going to bring Pete back at what you offered him just a couple just what was it 2023 end of the 2023 season you’re not going to that that that offer’s got to be off the table what has happened over the last handful of days has further killed the pet Alonzo Market the diamondb grabbed their Walker replacement the Astros grabbed a first baseman the Yankees grabbed the first baseman the gnats had been linked to Pete the gats grabbed a first baseman we have seen so much movement in the first base Market Cleveland bringing in Carlos Santana we’re at a point now where teams that truly need a first baseman it’s the New York Mets and that’s really it there are there are teams where you could say they could use a first basan maybe they could move some pieces around uh they could insert Pete as DH or the current option they have at first Bas is they could insert a DH but where there is a true need it is first is the New York Mets and what inner workings are happening behind the scenes with the New York Mets and their meetings and they’re looking at next year’s free agent Market looking at Vladimir Guerrero Jr being out on the market drew the Giants have Lamont Wade and LaMont Wade is one of the best in in the game at getting on base so the Giants are an area where you could move some pieces you could bring Pete on board Lamont Wade could move to the outfit field maybe that that opens up the door for the Mike yky trade but the Giants by moving some pieces could find a spot again Lamont Wade currently is the first baseman but you can move him I think if you’re bringing Pete in though you’re going to have to be you’re going to have to have a Mike yky trade not too far behind but uh Drew yep the Giants definitely fit so let’s add the giants into the conversation we got Giants we got Mets where are we going yes Sean go look at his on base percentage go look at Lamont Wade’s on base percentage dude Lamont Wade is trash Oh no do we have to do this again last year Lamont Wade’s on base percentage was 380 373 the year before that I can understand why people would think Lamont Wade Jr is trash but let me ask you this who do you think had a higher war between Lamont Wade and Louis orise it was Lamont Wade significantly nearly double Luis arise is war and they both play first base Lamont Wade Jr usually sits at least the last couple of years about 120 points higher than his batting average for his on base percentage Ops plus last year Lamont Way Jr was 121 on an Ops plus 21% better than the league average on Ops lamon way junor is not garbage question since 10e kid playing franchise mode in the show is better than the Mariners front office what options are available at all three bases well I I think I keep looking at your team I feel like thank you for the donation I think rley is going to be your first baseman and part of the problem in Seattle to me is Mitch hanar Mitch hanar hanging out there kind of takes Luke rley so all right you gave robless the contract you have roess you have a ro Arena and you have jrod in your Outfield so Luke rayley is here to play Luke rayley is not here to sit on the bench so Luke ry’s probably your first baseman and with Mitch hanar taking up a spot and making a lot of money Mitch hanar kind of got to be your DH to start the year like you have to go through the off seon with that thought process in mind so if you’re trying to think about a first baseman option for Seattle I I mean I don’t I don’t with the money they have left to spend in it’s public what was it $15 million left I think Luke rley is your first baseman Crawford’s is short so you’re looking for second base you’re looking for third base and with the money they have to spend I don’t think they have this is why this is why uh Luis Castillo trade kind of needs to happen because if you make that deal then you can bring maybe Gaber Torres or maybe hang Kim is an option for the Seattle Mariners for a middle infield spot when it comes to Third Base that’s drying up Third Base uh with Ella off the board that would have been a great get but at the same time Seattle has a lot of young prospects coming up not too far away maybe they want to go that route but this is why you need to trade Luis Castillo you need to trade Luis C this is there’s two trades that they could make trade Luis Castillo then trade for and I don’t know if Seattle’s going to do this trade for Alec bow because there’s your third baseman with the prospects that you’re going to get at this points Philly well then you see the problem is with that Philly’s in a tough spot if they trade bow who’s playing third base for them are they going to get in on Alex bregman that’s the problem I think Seattle is not going to be able to address all of these Pro all of the both I don’t think you’re GNA be able to address both of those issues uh second and third I don’t think they can address both and unless they trade Luis Castillo I don’t think they can address either of them with the money they say they have left to spend that’s the trouble because I think Seattle fans you probably want you probably want some more for that Bullpen don’t you how many guys in that pen do you feel good about right now that’s a trouble in Seattle and rocks want to trade a Ros Arena I think Randy could be dealt at the trade deadline if Seattle season goes south see it’s not Randy see you need to have Randy out there because dude if Randy if Randy becomes Randy again that will be amazing for this Seattle Team hanar a problem his money not just his money but him sitting there with a roster spot taking up a roster spot taking up what $20 million what’s Han’s number it’s ridiculous hanar is making 155 it’s not 20 it’s 155 that could be put to better use so he’s taken up 155 of the payroll and he’s taken up the DH spot and I don’t believe in him I think there are Seattle fans that do still believe in Mitch hanigar there are good memories of Mitch hanigar I will hope that he bounces back for Seattle’s sake because that money can’t go to waste that roster spot with the lineup being the number one priority cannot can cannot go backwards but the money’s going to be uh money’s going to be interesting it’s a tough one uh let’s see thank you for the Super Chat Michael Big Island bom we had a big Padres thing we were talking about the Padres and we were digging into potential trades for Lis arise Dylan cease almost forced because the Padre’s currently sit over the first luxury tax by $3 million when you incorporate projected payroll uh projected arbitration dollars they’re over and they still need a left fielder they still I believe need another starting pitcher probably could use another Bullpen piece they kind of need a DH uh they’re in trouble we were talking about trades talking about a Mets trade wasn’t that well received but most trades that are not the brainchild of one’s self sometimes can be hard to be received there was some talk that the Padres should get full value back for Arise My problem is if you’re getting full value back you’re either getting prospects or you’re going to have to take again he’s he’s out he’s looking at $14 million you’re going to be bringing $14 million back in pieces I think the money makes it tough the Padre going one major move go thank you for that donation one major move man there have been a couple that I thought they could do and they haven’t one major move for the Toronto Blue Jays my oneye my shortterm deal guys are going off the board uh avaldi was shortterm buers just one year that’s about as short term as you can get the burns thing again are the Blue Jays really looking for starting pitching or they just looking to make a splash that’s the question because if they’re looking if they truly feel like they need starting pitching maybe the Blue Jays make a run at Jack flare and maybe that’s the move I could see them getting desperate and giving bregman the money I could see them see them trying to get you know Pro is profar does profar just want money is he going to take the money I don’t think teoscar is going to go to Toronto on a long-term deal on anything more than a year if vlat is not signed I don’t know that the Blue Jays are very hard to predict very hard to predict it’s and and it it feels like they’re in desperation mode because they are again if Burns comes off the board they may pivot to bregman and bregman if the Blue Jays are the only team that will give them give him $200 million he’ll go and they can pitch him an idea that there’s going to be a new era in Toronto and we’re going to build it around you God could you imagine that could you imagine no nobody Donald nobody wants to sign up for any team that in a year could start circling the drain and that is just how it feels with the Vladimir Guerrero Jr situation and we’ve been talking about this for a while we were talking about this midseason last year when trade rumors started popping up with bobett we started to pinpoint it’s like no no no okay this is what you need to do vlat is the guy you build the team around B’s the guy you let go and if you don’t have vlat you don’t have the juice the juice is what brings people to your organization and the Blue Jays may not have that after next season that’s trouble Drew’s got the Jays last in the AL East I don’t know I I can’t put the Blue Jays last in the American League East I feel like Tampa is in a really bad spot may have to trade a key piece and if they do I feel like Tampa could be Tampa could be a 77 win team could be flirting with 500 and still finish in last place I the American League feels like the best last place team will be in the America League East what was last year last year Toronto was 74 and 88 that was last place 74 wins compared to Chicago’s 41 the Angels 63 Miami 62 Pittsburgh 76 Colorado 61 so of last place teams the Pittsburgh Pirates were the best with 76 feels like the American League has five teams that could be 75 wins or higher even with the blue because the Blue Jays could go through next year again rotation with gsman Brios and Basset is all right if you get some bounceback years if you get a bow bounce back this Toronto team isn’t going to make the playoffs I don’t think but could they flirt with 500 sure and that could be enough to get them out of last place that’s that’s the conversation we’re having right now that’s the kind of conversation we’re having yes NS exactly the best last place team were the Pittsburgh Pirates by record and the second best last place team in 2024 were the Toronto Blue Jays it’s a great it’s a great thing it’s fantastic man it is this the Alex bregman stuff is crazy Alex bregman Nolan arnado feels like they’re linked in a way do you trade for Nolan AR ronado is Nolan Aron’s contract as as as unsightly as it is viewed as a bargain with with how much money Alex bregman is asking for MLB Marathon anybody that follows that account on Twitter as wild and and and inaccurate sometimes sometimes they have some stuff sometimes they don’t talking about and this is actually some stuff that I think is we’re just living in we’re living in a space where bregman is Red Sox Mets and tigers for Alex bregman here let’s pull this up we can talk about bregman for a minute the latest on bregman the late I’m just I’m scrolling through here because I don’t do we wna latest on bregman Jack Curry ear ear today talking about the Yankees not pursuing they’re not in on Nolan arado also not a fit for Alex bregman MLB Marathon give it the weight you want to give it either some weight no weight a lot of weight hearing Red Sox Mets and tigers in that order Red Sox Front Runners followed by Mets followed by tigers and decision is expected soon those are three teams I mean if you’re if you’re the Red Sox and you go bregman here you’re moving Rafi are you moving Rafi to First are you moving what’s up blade Merry Christmas to you man are you moving rafy to first or just bregman going a second and you keep casus with with all of the young talent I don’t understand why Boston would spend the money on bregman are there any Red Sox fans here are there any Red Sox fans here I’m racking my brain with the young Talent they have coming up with a Vladimir Guerrero Jr sweep Stakes looming next year why would the Boston Red Sox give Alex bregman $200 million why would John Henry look he’s he’s reluctant to go high dollars long years for pitching but it’s a hitter so it’s different I don’t see it drew are you in bregman would play second it’s still about the money hold on um let’s see Abraham thank you for the 12 months will the Mariners finish last in the AL West no I do not believe so I believe that will be the Angels again um when are all of these prospects supposed to get here let’s see so and and here’s the other element this is why bregman for seven years say he going to play second base um isn’t Marcelo Mayer going to be your shortstop mlb.com pipeline has an TA of 2025 for Marcelo you’ve got Trevor story it’s you know regrettable but you’ve got Trevor Story You’ve Got Tristan casus at this point with what Boston has done the need to trade casus is kind of gone right this is what I was talking about with Seattle don’t screw this up and and wait too long because if a casus deal was there to be had but you were trying to treat Luis Castillo as greater value than Tristan casis I don’t know if that’s what happened but if that’s what happened you’re you you’re you’re killing yourself imagine if Seattle had Tristan casus on that team your Boston with the addition of Walker bu and Garr crochet the Red Sox rotation feels like it’s done now maybe there’s some rumors that come out that they’re still at looking for pieace and they may keep talking to people and there may be some leverage uh content that’s thrown out there but from a Red Sox perspective feel like you’re probably good now because you’ve got ber you’ve got crochet you’re going to have beo you’re going to have Hal and you’ve got like two or three other guys that you could work into that fifth spot so if you’re Boston I don’t get it I don’t understand the bregman pieace if Marcelo mayor’s going to be there he’s going to be your shortstop of the future Trevor story still got a couple of minutes there doesn’t he hold on let’s look at the Trevor story piece Trevor story his contract some of these I have uh you know committed to memory some of them I don’t I I know it’s not going away right away yeah you got 26 and 27 at $25 million on top of this you have three more years there’s a club option for 2028 but that’ll be done No One’s Gonna trade for Trevor story right now so you’ve got Trevor story whether he’s your short stop or your second baseman boom Kasa first de third do you want to be in on Vladimir Guerrero Jr next year if you don’t think that’s going to happen because the Blue Jays are going to get their extension done I still don’t know why you would go after bregman I don’t get it now the one team that makes the most sense is are the are the tigers but not at $200 million the Red Sox I don’t I don’t see I don’t see the sense in it talk me out of it Red Sox fans tell me why I’m crazy here KAS is at first story is at second or short mayor is at second or short and Des is your third baseman that is your team by the end of next year and moving into the year after that and the year after that where why does bregman make sense I don’t think he does we can move story to what move story to Second and that that opens up short stop for Marcel Meer so that is I’m just I don’t get it all right and I won’t get it I I don’t I don’t think think I don’t think so I don’t see it again the whole Red Sox talk don’t see it love the show thank a little different direction but would love your thoughts on why the MLB doesn’t allow teams to trade draft picks like NBA and NFL I think it would make for more interesting deals well you can trade the competitive balance picks we just had one uh in the I believe in the Lardo trade right am I right or was it no wasn’t that trade was it the the low trade we just had one but you’re right it you can’t trade them and again David thank you for the donation you can’t trade them like NFL and NBA and I think that has to do with um the C the the CBA at some point I think they will allow for that but right now they don’t I believe it is a collectively bargained item that is not something that passes through was it the nail trade that’s the one that had the comp pick included so you can you just you can’t trade your you know I can’t trade my I can’t trade up from three to one kind of thing So Cal Brave the Red Sox could be out of the vlat sweep sakes if they keep casus well so here’s the here’s here’s the thought there um let me go to Bost I’ve got Boston up right here at some point what would have to happen for vlat to for the Red Sox to be in on a vlat sweep Stakes is that’s where you have a casus trade that’s where you have a Yoshida trade you basically to really it on the on the vlat sweep Stakes you got to get masataka Yoshida off the team that’s what you have to do if you get rid of masataka Yoshida you can get in on on the vlat sweep Stakes because it opens up the DH spot and that is where de could be or who vlat could could play if if you wanted to keep cus you could do it but you got to get rid of Yoshida that’s the that’s the deal if you’re bossing get rid of masataka yos you got a spot for him yeah C good DH you you you you at that point if you going for vlat you pick the best defender between casus and vlat and that’s your first baseman the other guy is your DH you got to get masataka Yoshida off the team see the bregman thing and as far as the Mets go similar story man and what what’s fascinating about the Mets are the Mets really being used as leverage to pump up the bregman market I don’t know if we can go that route because that would all be a Boris driven element and bregman is a Bor so Pete Alonzo I don’t believe there is a world where both bregman and Alonzo are Mets next year maybe one of them definitely not both of them so to use the Mets somehow get the Mets used in as leverage because again a lot of the times remember these sources are agents now I’m not saying that is the source this time but many times it is Bob Nightingale has is on record saying most of the time when you see Source it’s coming from somebody in the agency I don’t I mean so so so I guess we have we we give legitimacy to the Mets for bregman but if you have bregman bregman’s your third baseman Vientos is your first baseman you move on from pet Alonzo you can still get in on the vlat sweep Stakes next year because you’ll have a DH spot for peace and you could have no wait wait I’m getting I’m getting my thought process no third base is bregman Vientos would be possibly your DH at that point I got my thought process lined up there you would have bregman at third DH would open up with marte’s departure that would give you a spot Vientos could be your DH vlat could be your DH or vlat I think vlat is going to want to play so vlat is in at first Vientos is in at DH and bregman is your third baseman so you could do it if you’re the Mets if you’re going to move on from Alonzo bregman would be the announcement that we’re moving on from Alonzo if if we if we hear bregman to the Mets in the end the Detroit Tigers feel like the best fit here but I don’t think the Detroit Tigers are going to go to 200 million ion dollar for Alex bregman now the Tigers have Jace Young at some point you want him to get a shot Colt Keith is your second baseman torlon is at first base does I I don’t know if our buddy Shawn is still in here but if you bring bregman on board how are we moving all of these infield pieces around bregman’s at third or or is bregman at no bregman’s not going to Second Keith is at second so Keith and young second and third short stop I like Sweeney as the option here but do they feel like they’re forced to play jav bayz because of the money and then first base is Tolson socks fan I’m with you I don’t think anybody should go to go go there the tigers are the team that could use him they could use that bat they could use that leadership I just wonder how Detroit moves the pieces around Riley Green in left Matt verling in right Meadows in Center is verling playing time up in the air and maybe Jace Young moves to the Outfield and bregman gets the everyday spot are Boston and New York being used as leverage to get the Tigers offer up that may be the true question already turned down six years from the Astros so are the Mets serious to sign him for seven or more years right well it wasn’t I think it wasn’t it wasn’t that it was six it was it was it was the dollars wasn’t it 6 for 160 or 165 for he wants $200 million King uh what happens if they sign then what happens if they sign them both and put bregman at second keep pet at first ventos at third Lindor short trade mcneel and Marte I don’t know if there’s any mcneel trade Partners I mean I I guess there is a world where they do that but is putting all your eggs in this year’s free agent basket knowing what’s coming next year we’re not hearing a whole lot of Kyle Tucker Mets talk because the WAN stto thing just happened but guys Juan sto could play Left Field that’s where he played with the Washington Nationals when he first came up Juan stto could move to left field or Kyle Tucker could move to left field or maybe do they feel confident and I don’t know could Tucker play center field I don’t know we Kyle Tucker’s a right fielder but Corner Outfield spots can be interchangeable when ju stto was playing left field for the Nats people probably thought it was insane to think he could play right field what are you talking about guess what goes to San Diego actually no I think he started playing right field even when he was in Washington before the trade if my memory isn’t failing me here so Corner Outfield is interchangeable if the Mets why wouldn’t the Mets be in on Tucker next next off season I can see it I could 100% see it Soto’s your left fielder Tucker is your right fielder we haven’t seen Tucker play left we have seen stto play left I don’t think anybody is in love with his defense so move him into left field where let’s call it what it is left field is a less premium defensive position of the three Outfield spots so let’s go with it put him in left that would require nmo to go back to center field what’s up Eric how you doing man Joshua yes no I know about nmo nmo would have to go back to cent no nmo would have to be back in center field and that may be temporary because I don’t know how good defensively nmo would be in a year and locking that in for a long-term situation but then you get to the whole DH conversation if you have a DH spot available does nmo become the designated hitter and you go for a defensive first center fielder which you have right now in Siri and I believe in Siri you have a couple years of control Cent Field’s going to be Drew Gilbert Drew Gilbert’s got to show that he can do it I I I certainly he’s on track but he’s got to show that he could do it drew Gilbert really struggled last year was was was good at Double A but in 2024 Drew Gilbert really struggled these guys rise and and they rise and then they fall uh Siri can’t hit no doubt Siri is that’s then that’s why it’s I if you have Tucker in right and SoDo in left then Siri is you sort of sacrifice the bat you go for the defense and series your number nine hitter with speed with defense and again you’re not worried about his Bat because you have Tucker and you have soda we beat Medicare very interesting take go go for that uh name there uh Red Sox are not going to spend money on bregman wake up I’m with you I don’t see it happening uh lion Hart same to you my friend merry Christmas to you as well yeah he can run into some homers no doubt all right guys let me see here what time is it it’s 11:30 story will be at second once mayor comes up exactly Third Base stors first base casus I don’t see I don’t see bregman again I’m at a point where I feel like the Red Sox and the Mets are being used for leverage to get the Tiger’s offer up that’s what it feels like that’s that’s what that smells like I’m just reading a tweet guys um I don’t know this Cardinal’s live has anybody seen or been following cardinals live this guy has been throwing around more rumors than MLB scoops I still the Yankees have a chance at arado as time goes on and the cards want to move him and the fact Goldie is in the Bronx I usually don’t trust Jack Curry reports Yanks and dire need a third base AR you don’t trust Jack Curry I I I do uh thank you for the donation you still think the Yan Yankees have a chance at Nolan ronado I don’t know if the Yankees want to spend that money I I feel like conversations have probably taken place but I don’t think Brian Cashman I don’t think Cashman and simber want to take on that money if if the Yankees were looking at ronado as a alternate for bregman that’d be one thing but um bregman to New York there’s too much bad blood there it’s not I I I cannot see that happening so and the other thing is gold Smith’s a one-year deal so Nolan ronado linking up with Paul goldi it’s not like Paul goldi signed a a deal that matches Aron AOS I mean yeah we’ve heard that he would I mean we’ve heard that he wants he would he would be interested in waving his no trade clause for a team that has goldi but I don’t know if signing Paul gmid is the indicator that Nolan’s going to the Yankees I’m I’m suspicious of that I’m suspicious of any team getting Nolan a ronado at this point he did have the Jack Peters last night uh cardinals live had some information or had a tidbit about the Rangers and Jack Peterson and then today the Rangers and Jack Peterson happened he is very active right now there was somebody I mean he knows things knows people he is where why here we go 38 minutes ago Blue Jays seem to be throwing around some cash for someone to take this winter rumors of a massive offer to Burns in the mid2 200s 7y year-ish and making an impactful push for teoscar Hernandez blue Jers have also shown strong interest in closer Ryan Hesley and Stephen matz who I’m told they would view as rotational depth unsure of where those moves would Stand Together of their overall offse offseason goes if I’ll say this if the if the next move the Toronto Blue Jays make is to trade for stepen matz the Blue Jays fan will lose it if that’s the move if they trade for stepen bats and that’s the next move with everything that mean it would be similar to to when the Mets announced that they were signing Griffin canning Mets fans were like what the hell is going on if the Blue Jays announc that they’re trading for Stephen matz it will be a what the hell is going on moment if they have mid2 200s and seven years-ish in front of Corbin Burns and Corbin Burns hasn’t signed that yet what does that tell you about what Corbin Burns is thinking he’s hoping somebody else comes up and steps up the teoscar Hernandez thing I’m skeptical with the vlat deal if vat’s not extended I don’t think T Oscar Hernandez wants to come here on a long-term deal uh anything long-term anything beyond a oneyear deal Tina does not like cardinals live talking about Stephen matz Hesley La in New York this is this is regard Ing arado and I believe bregman too uh LA and New York have actively had conversations with the Cardinals about Nolan arado talks with the Red Sox Affiliates have continued to gain steam possibly signaling a shift in the bregman market talking about Nolan Aron talking about the about La New York Boston and Philly talking to the Cardinals about Nolan arado at the end of the day it comes down to money these teams can talk to the Cardinals but they they have to find an agreement on dollars metop podres have called but seem less of a destination Astros likely have all but moved on and Angels well let’s call it what it is I mean obviously the Astros have moved on you can call and talk to the Cardinals about Nolan arado but at this point it’s a matter of who’s going to take the most from that contract I don’t think the Dodgers are going to take a significant portion I don’t know if the Yankees are are are the Cardinals going to be trying to get the same deal that they had with the Astros the Astros were going to take almost all of it will the Dodgers will the Yankees would Boston similar to why I don’t I don’t understand why Boston’s in on bregman I don’t understand why Boston would be in on Nolan arado Phillies Phillies have Alec bow and have said they’re not going to move Alec bow if you get ronado you are likely going to move bom at that point the pieces on the chessboard as we’re trying to play the game it’s it starts to get crowded for the Phillies so why I don’t understand how you would do that because if you’re trading bom then what are you trading B for that helps you right now You’ be trading him for a prospect I it’s very it’s again it’s it is a it is a path riddled with obstacles and and when I see obstacles in the
