e what’s going on everybody Welcome in on a late Thursday night live stream probably didn’t think I was going to do this tonight did you neither did I but sitting around was looking at some of the news I had already prepared three or four sort of bullet points and I thought why not let’s do it so welcome in to everybody you see right here next to me we’ve got some Wan SoDo information today uh some talk maybe contradicting some of the stuff we got yesterday from Mark fand we can talk about that we should talk about that to clean to clean anything up we had some information come out yesterday that we didn’t really get a chance to sort of talk about or or lead off about which means you know if it gets buried in an hour and 45 minute live stream many people don’t have an hour and 45 minutes to try to find where Jim talked about teoscar Hernandez so we can push that to the front here and I want to talk about the Luis seino want to talk about the Athletics don’t call them the Oakland Athletics don’t call them the Sacramento Athletics either it’s just the Athletics that’s it so we’re going to dig into what’s going on around Major League Baseball the duration of this stream will be decided by you guys uh if if we get to a point where we had a point yesterday where we most certainly went an extra half hour just because super chats kept coming through and they all needed attention so I’m not asking you to do it but if we find ourselves in a similar situation that that will keep this thing going because I will not leave a Super Chat unanswered let’s begin all right I have two Wan SoDo thoughts let me put it that way I’m going to bookend some of the I guess we’ll call it the pre-planned element I’m going to bookend it with somean stto talk and the first piece is the Yankees getting the final say because that was put out there yesterday by Mark vinand in an mlb.com transcript and today Ken Rosenthal was asked about it Jack Curry was on the Michael K show being asked about it and nobody can confirm if that is an accurate uh portrayal of how this could go and Rosenthal was asked about it on file territory and his exact words were I don’t know and he used those words twice now you can translate the way he worded it in your own mind and say that he means no but I’m it’s important right now this is how things can kind of snowball and get out of control is you have to take it word forward if you try to interpret it your own way when you are translating it on on and really this is a Twitter thing then things can get out of control because it’s also part of what’s going on with the Roki Sasaki situation I believe and I’ll talk about that too so we do not have uh really confirmation either way if the Yankees will get an opportunity to have a final say to receive the best and final Top Dog offer we don’t we do not know for certain if the Yankees are going to get that I mean I could see how they would get that but we do not know for sure if they’re going to have that I want to make sure that we clean that up and and my audience is also sort of in line with the way this is going uh they was asked to a lot of other reporters that have a lot of contacts and sources and insiders and relationship ship none of them could sort of give us a confirmation on what Mark fren was talking about yesterday so that’s the the one one Soo piece and I’ll add this one into I it it does not look like the Dodgers are definitively out of it uh it is uh apparent that all five teams are still in the bidding process and I think that might be and I’ll talk more about it in a minute I think that might be why the teoscar Hernandez thing felt like there was some momentum last night I kind of think that maybe and you know what let’s go to the tasar Hernandez thing I’ve got that teed up to go second here let’s let’s just do this that may be why this hasn’t happened yet Dave V was on petro and money yesterday Matthew Moreno quoting and it’s important that the quotes are right and that Matthew Moreno is not adding his interpretation of the words it’s so important don’t add your interpretation of the words when you’re putting things in text uh so hopefully this is a quote word for word but the quote word for word again we’re hoping this is the word for word quoting from Dave V on patro and money my understanding talking to people around the league as they expect Oscar Hernandez to resign with the Dodgers many people on the league expect tcar hernanes and Dodgers to find their way back to each other and my understanding is the Dodgers and teoscar are very much engaged and trying to nail the final details of a contract this was all last night this was this was a Wednesday night thing the rest of Wednesday night carried on Thursday has come and almost gone there is no T Oscar Hernandez deal to report and it really hasn’t been a whole lot of movement today we we we haven’t heard anything really definitive anything strong uh about the Tas garnand situation and I wonder if that is because the Dodgers truly are not out of the WAN sto sweep Stakes if they are still in because if they land SoDo I think that might spell the end of teoscar I guess it’s not a certainty that it would but it kind of feels like it would I think DOD FY would love to have both of them but they may you may not be able to get both of them especially if woto isn’t deferring any money so we will keep an eye on this but not t Oscar Hernandez deal done today despite all of the smoke yesterday and I think it might be connected to the fact that the Dodgers are not out on Juan sto I’m blanking who earlier today a hockey nerd no somebody else had it who had it was it passing it might have been Jeff passon somebody correct me I’m I’m blanking on it right now I’m not the one that’s that that this is this is something that one of our trusted reporters trusted insiders one of the top five said that they’re all still in it including the Dodgers which is why and I hate that I’m blanking on it at the moment um but it is why uh maybe this deal isn’t done is because the Dodgers are still in it I I want to say it was passing but I can I do not definitively recall if it was Jeff passen I I read the passen and Buster thing earlier uh there’s been a lot of stuff from from Heyman was it only raik and bake was it only that had that cuz it was the pass and only uh com winner meeting preview thing could have been Buster only raiken bak’s got it as only I would believe that doc both passen and Haymon said it today so we’re we’re we’re we’re able to trace that back to again we’ll call it the top five what what one or multiple of the top five said that it is still all five are in ed blood that’s right and we talked about that in our live stream last night that passing said it last night even though fineand had said they were unlikely thank you thank you Ed Ed flood my man just bringing me back to content that we talked about last night so we’ll see what happens uh let’s go to the other I mean this is going to kind of be sort of West Coast heavy here in the beginning uh this Roki Sasaki thing so yesterday uh Francis Romero tweeting sources several industry sources believe the San Diego Padres are in a strong position to land Japanese Ace Roki Sasaki I don’t think that’s anything new number one number two make sure you are again word for word because this has turned into and maybe unintentionally so this has turned into the Padres have emerged as the favorites or the leading candidates or the at the front of the line for Roki Sasaki and it’s word for word the Padres are in a strong position to land Japanese Ace Roki Sasaki to say that the pad are the favorites is taking this and upgrading it please we have to be careful about how we are commenting clarifying reposting retweeting all of that I think the padr are in a strong position but I still would not put them as the favor I still have the Dodgers as the favorite even though the Padres are in a strong position that’s me and you know me I’m not talking to Roki sasaki’s agent I’m not talking to Dodgers insiders I’m going on gut and my gut sometimes it’s right and sometimes it’s wrong my gut says that the Dodgers are the favorite but that does not mean that the Padres are not in a strong position believe they are but I think my feeling is that the Dodgers will be the ones that win out it’s for all the reasons we’ve talked about the Dodgers are they they have climbed the mountain and now unless this guy wants to grind and climb the mountain when he doesn’t have to unless he wants to he can go to just go to the Dodgers go to the Dodgers skip right to the final boss uh it’s it’s like playing Mario anybody play Mario and when you get to to one-2 you go up you hit the warp you go to level four and then you go what is it is it 2-2 or no it’s 4-2 and then you do the same thing and then next thing you know you’re a level eight and you’re you’re beating Mario in five minutes Roki can beat Bowser in five minutes just by choosing to go to the Dodgers or he can go to the Padre’s and struggle Padres fans I know you want them and I’m not I’m not intending to I guess I kind of am talking down about your team I do not mean to but as long as the Dodgers keep beating the Padres it is just the situation that it is no disrespect intended but it is the facts they’re very well could be a day maybe it’s next year where that gets flipped but until it does this is how we talk about the situation and I know you want that to change and again maybe one day it will but today as we stand on this Earth the Dodgers are the champions they eliminated the Padres doesn’t matter what happened in the regular season so Yoki saki where do you want to go speaking of where do you want to go geez who saw this coming who saw Luis srino taking a three-year deal for $67 million to go play for the Athletics in that minor league scorcher of a ballpark in Sacramento they were going to have to overpay is three pipes level two three and four thank you Braves um you’ve got a a a situation where by having to overpay they’ve also bump the market up even higher I mean we know that the starting pitching Market is escalated it is just naturally that sort of the state that it lives and srino going to the A’s on this deal Blue Jays fans you’ve seen how they this team has operated over the years do you really think hits are easier for six-man rotation do do I got you in just a second Jack do you really think the Blue Jays are going to get into an overpay situation if this is what Luis saverino is costing blue jay fans how do you feel about grabbing an impact starting pitcher I don’t feel good about it Jack thank you for the donation Otani pitches hits Dodgers are easier for a six-man rotation I think that with the six-man ation as it as it is Jack the Dodgers are kind of set up for I mean if they wanted to at least that right I think Kershaw is coming back you insert RI into the equation and then all of the other options that they have uh the Dodgers certainly could but um can Blake Snell work that way can Tyler glass now work that way maybe Yamamoto can oh I mean half the rotation can half the rotation can’t I don’t know how you’d figure that out I don’t know how you juggle it I really don’t butt munch cookie what’s going on man the Oakland A’s again good job by the A’s spending some money Money Ball is dead and gone that that that ship has sailed it was left back in Oakland apparently in Sacramento it’s going to be all about spending money now part of this is and Jeff passon alluded to it so we all should have seen this coming that the Oakland Athletics they’ve been getting this this money from the other owners and they haven’t been spending it and to kind of get the owners off their back the uh the the the objective is to to get that payroll up and this is this is one way to do that this is a significant way to do that to take uh a a more than 20% chunk out of the the the the revenue goal so I’m kind of when I think about the A’s I’m very interested to see what they do next because I like the young Talent on this team here’s a question let’s take a look at the rotation for the ace you have srino you have Sears you have a bunch of guys that have to prove themselves still at what point do you move Mason Miller back into the rotation let’s say the Oakland I just did it I did it five demerits to me let’s say the A’s grab another starting pitcher you have srino you move Mason Miller back into the rotation as a starter and let’s say they grab I don’t know Nathan avaldi and AP SE moves to the four all of a sudden this team’s putting together a a very good rotation and with the young bats that they have let’s see if I can pull this up and it doesn’t completely junk up the screen with the young bats that they have we know Brent Rooker can rake Lawrence Butler can rake I’m a JJ le guy I think Shay longers Tyler soderstrom Zack gelof are all going to be better in 2025 than they were in 2024 the Oakland A’s I’m not saying they’re going to win the west but we’re going to see a somewhat competitive and definitely interesting and I just said Oakland again didn’t I damn it we’re going to see a competitive Athletics team an interesting Athletics team next year now I feel bad because it’s not going to be in Oakland that Oakland fan base is not going to get to experience that Sacramento fan base will but the A’s again they’ll be interesting let’s take a look at the other and I also had this let me throw this on the board I don’t know if I have a whole lot to say about this um actually no I do I do so we had a report from Brian mctaggert Astros have an offer into Alex bregman six-year deal around $156 million a source mlb.com this week There’s also been and this was in the jeffp passing Buster only transcript piece on ESPN plus today that Boris bregman they think that he’s worth far more than that and that if bregman and Alonzo’s markets don’t get where they believe it should be that they might work the calendar again like they did last year how did that go that did not go particularly well and that’s an understatement I I was worried about this a month ago I don’t know if anybody who’s here now heard me say it then that Alex bregman could turn into this year’s Matt Chapman or last year’s Matt Chapman and now in the end it worked out he took this deal with a ton of options with the San Francisco Giants uh it was a perfect fit and he ended up getting more uh getting a better deal in season I wouldn’t count on that happening every time so for Alex bregman to say no you know what I’m worth 250 I really don’t think he is guys I I I tell you to to get to those kind of numbers my feeling is this you have got to you’ve got to have New York teams and La teams involved or at least one New York and at least one La team the LA teams are out unless they start to fabricate unless Scott Bor starts to blatantly lie Alex bragman will never be a Dodger and he will never be an angel for different reasons obviously and you know why as far as the Yankees go that fan base hates him and that matters so you may hear a lot of people on the radio on podcast online on TV talking about well what about Alex bregman to the Yankees you may trust those people I’m sorry but every time I hear that I call that fan base hates Alex bregman there is no shot he will ever put on Pinstripes Gio orella is available they’ll go Gio orella before they go Alex bregman even if Willie Adamas is off the board and any other options that they’re looking at for that ifield is off the board they will not overpay Alex bregman they will go Gio or shella that will happen first Yankee fan base can’t stand Alex bregman and if you’re in the small percentage of that fan base that actually likes Alex bregman you’re in the minority and as far as the Mets go well this is where it gets interesting because bregman and Alonzo are both Scott Boris clients uh as if you want to bring if you want to say the Mets are involved look I felt like it was kind of desperate to say that Alex bregman is open to playing second base felt like that was an indication that we’re trying to generate some interest from some teams because the interest for teams that are looking for third basement it’s thin the Seattle Mariners could use a third baseman not a fit with that fan base the Yankees could use a third baseman not a fit with that fan base it it it matters it matters if your fan base hates the player and if there are other options you’re that that that you know Cashman depoto they’re going to go in a different direction if the the fan base hates the player so I don’t feel good about Alex bregman’s offseason I think he needs to go back to the Houston Astros take this deal if you can negotiate it up maybe you negotiate it up you get an extra year and you get closer to 200 million but I think you have to go back to Houston I don’t think he’s going to I don’t think he’s going to find the market that he’s expecting and here’s the thing if this drags on Houston may move on Houston may move for another piece and replace Alex bregman what if Houston signs willly Adamas if they feel like Ah that’s Alex bregman thing we’re spinning our wheels and we know Tucker’s gone next year we’re not going to be able to pay him what if the Astros out of nowhere swipe will thas up off the market because they read the tea leaves it’s not going to happen bregman wants 250 okay fine well then you know what we’re moving on we’re going to go look at Willie adamus and we’ll have Willie adamus be our third baseman Willie adamus is apparently willing to play anywhere you need him to all of this should materialize once Soto’s off the board speaking of stto let me get back to the other thing I said it was going to sort of bookend my uh my my pre pre-planned Thoughts with the SoDo stuff so this came out today Boston Sports Gordo tweeted some information about the Red Sox what makes Otani even more valuable blz the Dodgers can carry 14 pctures instead for 13 like the rest of the league they will run a six-man but have 13 starters to choose from starting the season Justin thank you for the super chat a lot of options endless amounts of options for the Dodgers and their pitching yes you are uh you you are right on I I think that there is such a wealth of pitching that they may move on some of that bring in a relief pitcher bring in h a position player they could definitely use some of the wealth that they have in that starting pitching department and bring uh bring some other or or or address some other areas of need with with with that excess of pitching they have a ton of pitching they have a ton of options and that’s a good thing I think you’ll probably if you see some of this stuff go down I don’t know do we see it in the off seon I think you got to put it all together see how it looks see how it plays out you know if Otani is going to be delayed if you’re worried about glass now injuries you kind of need you need all of that depth so here’s the thing that I wanted to talk about cuz and and I don’t I’m worried because I feel like this going to make me look like a Boston hater and I’m not I’m really not I respect Boston’s history I got to tell when when when when when they’re winning championships um most of the time I’m I’m rooting for it uh Manny Ramirez and David Ortiz I love that combo uh Pedro Martinez awesome Kurt Schilling like look I I respect and I appreciate Boston Red Sox baseball so I this is going to make me sound like I’m a Red Sox hater and I apologize in advance but this came out today that the Red Sox have requested a meeting with Scott Boris and Juan stto they’ve requested it so they could try to find out what would it take what’s the price to get the deal done now it is unknown as it is placed here uh this is from Alex spy unknown if the meeting has been or will be granted and this feels like it fired up and galvanized the Red Sox fan base and they were kind of looking for something right because everybody’s hopes got up back on Thanksgiving and nothing happened and Jeff passon nuked the whole thing and despite more momentum on social media throughout the weekend still nothing happened and then we start getting updates and then we start hearing more from Passion and more from Boris and all of a sudden it’s like a okay there’s nothing to anything that I heard on Thanksgiving okay so this was almost like a breath of her sh like oh thank God we’re we’re back baby okay I don’t think that this is the good news that it maybe appears to be and I say this as somebody before before I did this I worked in sales I sold advertising in radio I sold advertising in sports I sold advertising in malls uh for a little while I dabbled in uh shortterm uh and common area space leasing in uh in shopping malls so that that’s my background my background is doing deals working with clients trying to get deals across the Finish Line like the Boston Red Sox are doing these are now now now these are two obviously completely different scenario right I’m selling you know advertising they’re trying to sell the Red Sox to woto if I got to the point in the sales process where I had to call up and leave a message because that’s basically what this sounds like it is unknown if the meeting has been or will be granted okay we know that the me that this is that this is out there but we don’t know if it’s happening number one the fact that it’s even been leaked is kind of suspicious so let your antenna should be going off from that anyway that this is out it’s it’s very suspicious but if you get to this point in the sales process it kind of feels like you’re approaching desperation that your product hasn’t sold itself that you feel like you’re going to lose so you’re trying to get controll back because you feel like it’s slipping away this is your endgame attempt because doesn’t feel like it’s going your way you can’t get a return phone call you’re getting very cryptic responses you’re not moving the ball closer to the end zone you’re sort of stuck on the 20 yard line let me call them up and and I’ll just I’ll just straight up ask him what’s it take to get the deal done again there’s there’s as the the salesperson in me from the first you know 15 or so years of my career after college when I got to this point it wasn’t going well so I don’t and and I’m saying this with hesitation because again I I I I feel like I just I have to in the you know with with my transparency and with my honesty and how I give you guys what I’m thinking I got to I got to tell you what’s on my mind now I could be 100% wrong and this could do the trick and maybe I was a shitty salesperson and because of that um I don’t know what I’m talking about but 15 years of working deals closing deals working with business business owners advertising agencies Brokers going through all these different process I’ve seen it all all the different games and tricks and Gatekeepers and all of this stuff this just the excitement that this generated I just have to caution Red Sox fans yet again hold your breath don’t get excited we have this is not the the good news that it maybe appears to be you you’re like that they’re trying to gain control back that if they feel like they have lost it and they’re falling behind that they’re doing something yes that is a good thing here but it’s what’s not a good thing is that it has gotten to this point that they feel like they have to put that out there so where does this even come from is sort of an interesting piece where’s Alex getting this from is he getting it from the Red Sox he can’t right because if you’re the Red Sox you don’t want this getting out you don’t want the Mets the Yankees the Blue Jays the Dodgers to know that’s your play similar to if you’re Steve Cohen in the Mets you don’t want everybody else to know that your play is 50 million on top of whatever anybody else gives you will go over that you don’t want everybody to know that because all it takes to negate that is to say if you’re the Red Sox or the Blue Jays or the Dodgers or the Yankees we will also give you 50 million above whatever anybody else is offering then that play by Steve Cohen is irrelevant an attempt to have a meeting to find out what’s the price to get the deal done let’s say that’s happening all you got to do if you’re the Mets or the Blue Jays or the Yankees or the Dodgers is do the same damn thing and it’s irrelevant it’s it is a it is a play that is blocked and broken up so this had to come from the agency side it had to and if that’s the case if I’m is Alex Spire Alex spear apologize if I mispronouncing it if if this is what you’re getting and you are in fact getting it from the agency side keep it to yourself don’t put it out there because that’s what they want hey uh Alex you’re never going to guess what happened what agency guy just got off the phone with CB CB Craig all right breslo yeah got it what’s up they just left me a message they want to set a meeting to find out what it’s going to take to get the deal done oh yeah this is great hold on I’m tweeting away as I as I get this I would not have put this out there because I don’t think it helps the Red Sox number one and number two again it’s not the positive update that you want so I just had again I could I could keep that to myself but in the interest of being transparent with you and giving you guys my thoughts letting you know what’s in my head um that’s what I do here sometimes it backfires sometimes it doesn’t that’s where I’m at with this I do not hate the boss of Red Sox if Juan stto Signs with the boss of Red Sox I think it will be exciting to see him in that lineup we looked at the lineup the other day and holy it’s incredible that lineup with woto they will do amazing things we will have historic Seasons with him in a Red Sox lineup so I’m good if he goes to Boston I I don’t like this I don’t like that it again it it there is a desperate nature to it if it is actually what’s happening and if you’re one of the maybe hundred or so people that have hopped in and hung out for the last couple of minutes that are like what the hell is he talking about kick it back like to the 30 minute Mark I don’t want to repeat it for everybody else that’s here um there’s there there’s just an element to this that’s not as exciting and galvanizing as maybe it seems also wise it out it seems kind of leveraging intended to get to the other teams and for that point why is somebody from Boston putting this out there if somebody from New York or Toronto or La put this out there I would get it it would be an attempt to shoot the Red Sox plane down oh there goes the Red Sox plane they’re trying to steal woda shoot the damn thing down the Red Sox are going in they’re going to try to find out what it takes to close the deal quick get Steve on the line let him know if that’s Boston if that’s your play if if that is your your endgame play you can’t let people know holy am I right you can’t let people know so there are two terrible uh really three but two for sure awful elements to this being out so Red Sox fans just take a breath don’t get get excited about this just like you need to keep that heart rate down on Thanksgiving you need to keep your heart rate down on this because it’s not it’s not great anyway that’s my thoughts on the whole s of thing this is really why I came on today I said at the beginning I was like yeah I didn’t know if I was going to go on today but I was like yeah I had some stuff pre-planned which I did I had the bregman thing and the Oscar thing and the Sasaki thing and the srino thing I wanted to talk about and there was the sto stuff about the whole final offer for the Yanks thing but when I saw this I was like oh God there’s just times that I’m like I’m I I have to it’s why I started the channel this is an opinion-based Channel sometimes you will agree sometimes you disagree those of you that have disagreed over time which I’m sure of the 900 plus that are hanging out there are many times you have disagreed with things I have said and and I’m that’s okay that that is I’m I’m good with that um that’s that’s written all over it Michael it does it truly does whether it is Boris or a Boris talking piece out of his agency it just doesn’t doesn’t doesn’t smell good it doesn’t smell good uh so I get with the whole opinionated nature of this channel uh there’s going to be some disagreement but it is opinion it is an opinion Channel and I have learned this over the years too right like that’s part of it um that’s why when I do like when I try to do things where like it’s rankings and stuff while those are opinions they’re not necessarily opinions or I I don’t know it’s tough to explain I could probably spend 20 minutes on the whole YouTube Element to it um where’s he going I’ve been asked that couple times today that I can track anyway I still have it Mets one Yankees 2 narrowly Mets one with the Red Soxs in at three um Dodgers and blue jays are kind of going back and forth at the four and the five spot that’s where I’m at that’s where I’m at today winter meetings is going to be based on where sto signs I think I was I was telling my wife earlier tonight before she went to bed I told her that we are entering Soo watch tomorrow Saturday Sunday Monday because I gotta let her know because we got kids we got things that we’re doing and I may have to disappear through over the weekend to come and do this for several hours as we’re building up to it um I let her know and I’ll let you guys know I think we are officially entering ju sto watch this everything has been the buildup this week I think we are officially entering SoDo watch tomorrow that does not mean I’m going to come on and we’re going to be doing live streams all day Friday Saturday Sunday when it starts to get hot and heavy we’ll fire something up as long as I’m not coaching a basketball game which I signed up to do this year usually I coach baseball I’m coaching basketball which it’s going to be fine in like January but if I’m sitting there coaching the game and we’re in like the second quarter and I got kids that I’m trying to like substitute and plays that I’m trying to get off and I see a Twitter notification from Jeff passon that stto has signed is it okay for me to fire up my phone and do a live stream while I’m trying to coach a game I don’t think that works right I’m going have to wait so outside of game time you got a game on Saturday around 12 what’s it 12:30 to 115 book your calendars that’s probably when Juan sto is going to be uh is going to be signed when Juan soda was traded to the Padre’s right it was a padre it was the Padre’s trade I was at the dentist with my kid so and when he was when he was traded to the Yankees I think I was home for that but one of the two big sto transaction I was busy so watch that 12 the 12:30 to 115 window because the baseball Gods sometimes like to laugh at me and and and have this stuff happen when I am unable to do anything that would be pretty funny yes I’m yelling at kids to do to take a shot or to pass the ball and at the same time I’m I’m giving my thoughts on one soda that’d be great that’s what a lot of it’s going to be on Saturday it’s going to be a lot of pass the ball question who do you think the angels are going to get for a nauy pitcher or another batter or who do you think they will trade for Jonathan thank you for the Super Chat I appreciate that the angels I got to say from a hitting perspective I think the Angels probably if you do anything it’s going to be lowkey because I I kind of like some of the stuff that they’re building I think if you hold on to Ward um you’ve got ohappy uh you’ve got uh why am I blanking on the short shop Netto you’ve got shanell I like a lot of what the angels are building with their with with their bats so I want it to be on the pitching side and there are two two three actually very big prominent California based or born and raised or or Hometown free agents Corbin Burns Max freed and Jack flare you have I I I think with everything they have done they need to go out and truly get a topof the rotation guy you say Kikuchi to be the the number one doesn’t work so I think that the the Angels need to go out there and try to land one of the top five free agents and conveniently three of them are from California so go grab one of them Max freed we’re hearing all this stuff about East Coast teams we hearing a little bit sprinkled in with the Giants go to the angels the Dodgers that door closed for Max freed go to the angels if if you want to go to California if you want to go home want soda why does wodo want to be on the on the East Coast proximity to getting home to the Dominican Republic that’s why the West Coast teams are sort of having to take a backseat doesn’t mean he won’t go to West Coast team so proximity to home matters now it doesn’t always end up falling in your in your fortune because we can’t always work where we want to live or where home is sometimes our job takes us some else for a period of time so you know I don’t expect Burns and freed and flarity to all sign with California based teams give me maybe one of them but the Angels need to go out and get somebody big I think that they should truly trade Taylor Ward for for some good pitching in return I think you could so now now here’s the trouble with that is a lot of the teams that have some pitching you could go and get they’re division Rivals the Astros or the Mariners uh the white socks are not going to take Taylor Ward the Miami Marlins are not going to take Taylor Ward while he’s a great player it’s not really what they’re looking for they’re going to be looking for that the arbitration clock has not even started to tick yet but Taylor Ward for pitching makes sense I can see it happening especially after the Solair deal uh with Mike Trout situation uh with Joe Adell you can’t I don’t think Joe Adell has the value Ward would actually bring something significant back so it’s going to be interesting to see how that they’re going to go in and ask how much does it cost to get the deal done eventually the it gets to the point where where if you’re already at $700 million for Wan sto you’ve kind of identified you’ve you’ve got the means so if you’re at 700 well you might as well go to 800 you ever been in an auction you ever been in like a a silent auction or anything like that and you’re looking at something and you really want it and let’s bring it down to like normal dollars and the things like 50 bucks and you’ve got the $50 bid in and somebody else comes in in at 60 but you really want that are you going to let that go for 10 bucks no you’re going to throw 65 on there and then somebody comes in and they throw 70 on it you’re like damn it 65 I’m not going to lose this thing over five bucks the next thing you know you’re at 65 or you’re at 75 whereas you position to win each year so you you get to the point where you just you you if you’re the bidder you’re looking at this thing like well I’m already in it for 700 what I I can’t lose this thing over a a $50 million bid I can’t that we’re getting to a point where the higher the dollars go it’s a smaller percentage so I might as well go and if you have three teams at least three teams with that mindset this thing just keeps on going forever and eventually Juan stto is going to have to say and this is just my opinion again you may disagree with it and and I respect you for it if you have a different opinion of it that’s fine but but my opinion is that eventually Juan Soo is going to say okay once we’re at 700 million these these are all fair offers I am now going to pick the destination that I believe is best for me for the next at least four years because that’s probably when there will be the first opt out but put on Mets uniforms in 2025 and lately I’m leaning more towards the Mets for stto but my prediction is Alonzo to the Mets that was my prediction if that doesn’t happen it gets kind of murky Seattle could use him but they’ve got a financial thing Jays aren’t just for the JS RS are a consideration too Rogers has a vested interest in making to a premiera destination if the Blue Jays do not get their their their splashy bats signing or trade and like was alluded to today that Alonzo and bregman’s free agency could test the calendar if Alonzo’s still out there maybe he ends up with the blue jays and they move vlat to third or vlat dh’s that could happen again if sto’s if ronzo is not going to the Mets it gets kind of murky trying to find a fit Anthony sond there my prediction my hope I guess it was a it was prediction and some hope that he would end up in Kansas City that Kansas City would spend the money to go out there and get a legitimate power threat but but with this SoDo thing there could be a Red Sox team a Toronto team a New York team that is feeling the loss feeling a pain in their gut having missed out on woto and they may pivot Toc sandir because it sounds like T Oscar is this close to going back to the Dodgers so the next big Power bat that is in the first baseman is sere so you could see that market he up really quick and I think you’ll see sandir go to one of the
