trade rumors really went to a new level during the MLB winter meetings and while Dallas has cleared out trade rumors have not cooled down we could by the time you see this one of the players or multiple players that we’re about to talk about could be moved and the one I’m watching closely is Cody Bellinger that is going to be the second player we talk about in this video so let’s dive into the rumors let’s talk about it and let’s begin with Kyle Tucker if you had told me two weeks ago that there would be Kyle Tucker trade rumors I would have told you that those trade rumors would probably be a bunch of garbage but here we are the day after the winter meetings have concluded and kind of entering a space where I expect Kyle Tucker to be traded which blows my mind and to whom you may ask it looks like it could be the Chicago Cubs to step up and get Kyle Tucker we had a report from Haymon we had a report from Joel Sherman over the last couple of days linking Kyle Tucker to the Yankees and the Cubs the the the Astros really interested in Luise heel uh from the Yankees and as far as a Cubs trade conversation goes it was all about involved say Suzuki Esau parades now this is old and at this point players that could be involved in being talked about and kicked around could have changed it may be off of Suzuki and parades and on other pieces at this point but what I’m bringing to you today is this according to Al folks I trust it will be a surprise if the Astros don’t trade Kyle Tucker within 48 hours that would put us on Saturday the Cubs appear likely clear favorites and when we’re hearing what else is going on it kind of makes sense that it seems like the Cubs may be pulling out in front they have a they have the pieces uh you’re talking about the Astros that has been identified you’re talking about pitching and infield help to to to get a deal done and the the Cubs have that now we’re feeling really good about the Cubs right now and not so much about the Yankees because it seems like the New York Yankees could be close to and again maybe by the time you see this uh you could see a deal for Cody Bellinger with the New York Yankees there’s a lot of smoke around that right now and over the last couple of days this has been a major talking point John Heyman in his bleach report live stream said that the Cubs are now willing to eat some of the Cody Bellinger contract and that is what sort of kept this thing from really rolling and that is changing and if you’re the Chicago Cubs it makes sense look if you can’t find somebody to take all of it look I understand I understand why you started there because you would love to find that who’s going to take all of this okay nobody’s going to take all of it well let’s now adjust who’s willing to take 75% of it it’s a negotiation tactic so the Cubs could be dealing Bellinger to the Yankees which would likely take them out of the Kyle Tucker sweep Stakes which would send Kyle Tucker to the Chicago Cubs they could both happen uh by the end of the weekend with all of the smoke with all of the talk that we’re hearing all of the me momentum out of the winter meetings we are starting to even get some pieces here Pat regazo reporting that the Yankees and Cubs have discussed will Warren in the co Bellinger trade talks if you’re the Cubs and you’re going to have to send some pitching to the Astros to get a Kyle Tucker trade done wouldn’t it be nice to get pitching back for Cody Bellinger I mean it makes it’s it’s it’s kind of like look these these two trades are happening uh exclusive of one another but it sort of feels like a three- team trade is happening and then the Cubs are in the middle of it so this is really as far as trades to watch the Cubs at the center of an Astros trade and a Yankees trade that’s that’s everything to watch right now that’s why that leads us off did anybody see the Louis Robert news now we have finally started to hear some trade talk around Robert that the white socks are are are intent on trading him this off season not worried about or or have having no desire to run him out there to start the 2025 season in an attempt to build up the value worrying that it could actually backfire and the reds are really the first team to make a lot of noise to inquire about Luis Robert Red’s showing interest this is coming from Jesse Rogers on E from ESPN now that the white socks have moved G crochet Luis Robert is another player to watch on the trade front Reds have shown interest acquiring interest in acquiring the 27-year-old outfielder that is the text from Jesse Rogers and when you consider the red situation Outfield is an area of need the infield is set the Outfield is where they could improve and Luis Robert if he’s healthy if he’s in a situation where the team is winning a a better situation than with Chicago I think Luis Robert could have a bounceback season and when you think about the financial element here if he has that bounceback season you have the ability to unlock two more years of Luis Robert if he doesn’t have that bounceback season then you just decline the options and he’s gone you’re only on the hook for the money this year in any buyout dollars the Reds have been very aggressive this offseason uh with all of the trade talk that we’re hearing about they already pulled off the trade for for for singer and have been linked to Gar crochet the Reds are for real another big trade piece that could be on the move is Luis Castillo something we’ve been talking about here on the channel for a while now uh let’s look at the Seattle Times recent piece where things stand with the Mariners after a quiet winter meetings MLB sources indicate that they have been the Seattle Mariners listening to offers on deals for Lis Castillo who’s owed 22.7 million over each of the next three seasons and will continue to listen to them looking for specifically infielders in return this is why Tristan Casa trade lines up this is why an Alec bow trade would line up but do the Phillies want Luis Castillo that’s a whole another thing we could we can talk more about that uh another time but let’s focus here again on Luis Castillo even with the acquisition of coret the Red Sox have continued to express interest in acquiring a mariner starting pitcher a deal that would send Castillo to Boston for casses and a prospect would also free up some money for the Mariners to use for other in or for the other infield needs pause timeout um you can smell and I’m sorry Seattle fans we got to correct this you can smell the Seattle bias in the wording you are not going to be able to send or or get kasus and a prospect for Lis Castile that’s the other way around gang it is going to be Luis Castillo and a prospect going to Boston for Tristan casus the reason being the dollars the 22.7 over the next three years Tristan Kus is still in pre-arbitration guys he hasn’t even gone into arbitration one there’s four more years of control for Tristan casus Tristan casus is younger Tristan casus is the everyday bat Trish I understand we put we place a premium on pitching but this is not a trade where you see Boston have to add more to it this is a trade where you would have to actually see Seattle add a piece to it or add some money to it if they want to get a a prospect uh to come along with Tristan Kus it just doesn’t work it’s not a one for one it’s not a Seattle one Boston 2 let’s get that let’s get that clear more from this report the Cubs the Phillies Orioles and Yankees would also have interest in Caso if he was made available via trade well he is available via trade so is are you telling me that the Cubs of Phillies euros and Yankees have also reached out cu Luis Castillo is available folks so more teams stepping up here over the next week or so could definitely happen right now we’ve really heard the Red Sox and only the Red Sox but I think there are more teams that could make the move here and Ken Rosenthal talking about the Red Sox the focus is still on pitching a trade for Luis Castillo makes a lot of sense I think that’s the route they’re at least exploring but they have to address their lack of right-handed hitting as well but again we are linking again today on foul territory linking Lis Castillo to the Red Sox the fit is there it is what Seattle needs and trist casus it is what Boston needs but you just have to get the values right here and again if Seattle believes Luis Castillo has more value than Tristan cus then we’re never going to get this deal done and Jerry got to be careful because we talked about this in the Stream the other night there are um there are not as many trade options for Seattle that there would be for Boston Boston if they really want to move Tristan Costas and they want to open him up to the entire uh to the entire landscape they could find a Tristan Costa trade easier than Seattle could find a Louis Castillo trade for an infielder again when we start thinking about other infielders that are available that can really line up here we we think about Alec bow but does Philly want to take that contract and Philly doesn’t need Luis Castillo maybe they would like him but they don’t need him it could open up potentially an opportunity for Philly to then pivot and trade one of their other starters but I mean who are they going to trade I mean they’re not I don’t see them trading uh bringing Luis C Luis Castillo in and then sending Ranger Suarez out or Christopher Sanchez out that’s not going to happen so this is a again Jerry depoto don’t screw this up you have an opportunity to improve your ball club bringing in Tristan casus all right send a prospect with Castillo that way Boston takes all the money that then gives you 22 and half million additional dollars to go out there and get involved um in a conversation for some other top free agents that’s what needs to happen and again let’s Loop Tristan cus in here we’ve already mentioned his name a lot and it is all around Seattle as of right now that could change again I think Boston wants to do the deal with Seattle because this is really as far as Castillo goes and as far as kasus goes it’s where all the heat is all of the heat all of the smoke all of the fire is around Costas in Seattle and Castillo in Boston if we start here in Castillo and Baltimore or uh casus and the Mets then you know it’s off but this is something that makes sense for both sides uh Seattle sports John morosi uh Seattle sports reporting uh a piece from morosi on a uh Seattle sports radio station wman and Bob called in and said a potential move sending Castillo to Boston for Tristan casus is a reasonable idea for the Mariners continuing on here if they make this trade it’s not only for trist and cus it is for Tristan casus and whatever else you can do with the money that Luis Castillo was going to make so I think the Mariners are probably looking at it the $22 million if you again you have to you’re going to have to send a piece with Castillo I think I’ve said that 10 times now I I’ll get off it but you do that then Boston will just take all of that money and you will have found dollars for free agents and that is what needs to happen because Seattle has got to improve that lineup That infield specifically and this would be a an incredible start Tristan cus is a great player guys he was hurt last year so a lot of people have forgotten about how good Tristan cus can be look at what he did when he came back look at what he did in 2023 Tristan kasus would be an amazing addition we finally started to hear some trade rumors around Jesus lasardo and maybe we needed to get closer to the G crochet uh Finish Line but we we have a lot of potential Jesus lazardo we have a lot of Jesus lazardo talk I don’t usually grab a Google snapshot uh but I’m doing it here we’ve got a a potential Red Sox fit a potential Orioles fit the with the Jesus lazardo trade talk sort of being fresh and and more recently you know underway we’re not hearing a a a ton of teams that are in on losardo yet but you can see a Sports Illustrated article a fan side a Miami article this is a player that could really jump to the Forefront of trade talks when you consider what the return would have to be this is a team that just wants prospects it’s kind of tricky to do a trade with Seattle because they have a specific need in mind they want uh they want infield help they want ready now help uh trying to pull off a trade with Philly for bow they’re going to want somebody that can help right now these teams white socks and Marlins are two teams that you can execute a trade with and send them prospects if you’re making a trade with Houston if you’re making a trade with again as we talked about Seattle and these these teams that are in a winning mode they want a piece back that that can help right now which which can again complicate the trade but if you’re just looking at prospects we can have more teams we can have more teams in on that so Baltimore would be a great fit here Miami uh to do a trade with Boston that works I don’t think we’ll hear maybe much Boston Buzz until that whole thing with Seattle runs its course you would not have casus going to the Marlins that’s not it you would be again digging into the prospects the Orioles again needing to consider it yes definitely checks the Box you’re going to have to send prospects and we’ll see I mean Miami FL the Marlins were able to work on a deal with the Orioles before the trade deadline so they’ve done it before they do it again lazardo would be a great fit in Baltimore we’re also getting because of the San Diego money situation talk of a Louis arise trade coming out of the San Diego Union Tribune Kevin AC Padre’s depart winter meetings with sight set on getting better for less it’s a new era it’s a new era in San Diego without Peter seider multiple sources say the Padre’s have discussed trading DH first baseman Louisa rise and others whose departures would provide some payroll flexibility that would allow the club to shore up other needs Louisa rise is going to be entering the final year of his arbitration so probably looking at around 13 14 $115 million for a rise and quite frankly if you look at this the San Diego roster this team’s Fortunes in 2025 probably don’t ride on Lis arise being there so he could move I don’t think you can’t trade Machado no one’s going to take the contract at this point anyway uh I don’t think you want to be moving having a conversation about tatis I know there’s some Bogarts talk that’s popped up but I I think this is the guy that you can and should move and if the return is literally literally if the return is just a prospect uh a a midlevel prospect I think you could do better but let’s say it’s at least that but the team that’s taking him is taking all of those arbitration dollars then it’s a win for the Padres because then they can take those dollars that were going to Lis arise and spend it in the pitching department or in the left field department so San Diego a Louis trade makes a lot of sense here and there are teams that could certainly make a play here if the Mets don’t bring Alonzo back if the Yankees are looking to let let’s say the the Cody Bellinger trade does it happen or even if it does happen maybe you could still work this out Houston Houston I mean it it’s right there this would be a a terrific Edition for the Houston Astros uh the Seattle Mariners all right if the Tristan casus thing and and Boston doesn’t work out if you’re again what did I say it could take to get uh to get a rise L just a mid-level prospect is probably all it’ll take at this point because San Diego wants to dump the salary it’s a it’s a different conversation when you’re having those negotiations when this is just a salary dump so I feel like there’s a play there now the $14 million can Seattle take that that’s a question that is where then you get to well maybe they do need to trade Luis Castillo but if you are trading Luis Castillo after you’ve done this arise trade maybe your focus has shifted and look maybe we do get a Philly trade maybe we do get Luis Castillo to Philly Seattle takes Alec bow and Alec bow uh is the third baseman Luis arise is the first baseman there’s your corner infield for Seattle I think Seattle has their sight set higher but if that’s what you come away with this off seon uh your your lineup will be a lot better than what it was last year you you will have done the upgrade you you you will have gotten better in that department Arizona without Christian Walker returning could be a fit the Cincinnati Reds could be a fit Jer candelerio could move to third Maybe Christian Inon goes to the Outfield so there’s a lot of different ways that you I like the way I said Outfield there I call it the Outfield this is my first day talking baseball guys so a lot of options a lot of options for a Louisa rise trade how about the Dylan CE trade conversations this one would surprise me unless there are other moves connected I’m really shocked I would be really shocked if this actually happened uh again back to that Kevin AC article uh starting pitcher Dylan C seems at this point to be the most likely veteran to get moved we’ve reached the point where that’s the words that we’re using Dylan CE seems at this point to be the most likely veteran to get moved they just got him and aside from that look you can you can trade guys you just got uh last year the the really the the the the important element here is the shape of the Padre’s rotation if you trade Dylan CE your rotation is Michael King you darish and a whole bunch of question marks how how look you cannot take years off with the payroll being where it is with the contracts that have been uh doled out to Machado and tatis and boggarts I know it’s a different time right now but you can’t take years off and if you are going to put one hand behind your back because you trade Dylan ceas to move money I again you you got to have I think San Diego needs one right now you trade Dylan CE you got to get somebody to replace Dylan CE and then you need another one you need two they need to have to compete with the Dodgers to compete with the Giants to compete with the Diamondbacks you’ve got to have four really good starting pitchers right now they have three you trade him you have two where are the other two coming from is it coming in a return piece for Dylan CE I’m really concerned about which way the Padre’s are going here we have heard uh the Orioles from John morosi John marosi has linked two teams to Dylan CE the Orioles are among teams interested in trading for Padre’s uh Dylan CE and that would be a nice fit uh Orioles would be running back the whole you know trading for a rental pitcher again eventually Baltimore fans I think you’re probably getting to get sick of that hey it’s nice we get a we get an upgrade to our rotation but we’re only getting it for one year we’re giving up these prospects for one year of a guy uh cuz you’re going to run into a similar problem when it comes to the money there is a report out right now that Michael IAS has been given the green light to spend money but he’s not doing it this will be an interesting situation to monitor in the Boston Red Sox marosi letting us know and this goes back two days now Red Sox are among teams with interest in dilles this goes back to before the Garett crochet trade but since the Garett crochet trade we’ve heard a lot about Luis Castillo in sights for the Boston Red Sox so you cannot rule out a Dyan CE uh potential in Boston if Boston is still talking to teams like Seattle about Luis Castillo Dylan CE would be a nice addition for Boston but again San Diego how is the rotation going to come together if you’re making a trade with Boston I you know maybe you get Fitz back in return but Fitz I’m sorry is another question mark for next season I want to have some certainty if I’m San Diego and to only have two guys that I’m certain about makes me question our uh prospects for competing in 2025 Devon Williams are we going to get a Devin Williams trade in the athletic the other day we had Deon Williams attracting an overwhelming amount of interest in the trade market with at least 10 teams contacting the Milwaukee Brewers prior to this we had heard that Milwaukee was probably reluctant to trade Devin Williams that has changed that or that has to change that has to change if 10 teams have reached out if you’re looking to recreate the package that Miami got for Tanner Scott one way you can do that is by creating cting a bidding war how do you create a bidding war you have 10 teams reaching out Milwaukee has to go down this road because they should be able to use it to their advantage to get a hall in return and out of the gate we have heard that of those 10 teams the Dodgers and the Yankees that’s exactly what you want to hear are in on a Devin Williams trade both teams looking to upgrade their bullpens now the Dodgers brought Blake trying back and that necessarily hasn’t killed the Devin Williams momentum so if you are Milwaukee again you’re looking at eight other teams Dodgers team number nine Yankees team number 10 you have everything you need to go and get a monster return back for Devin Williams and that’s how the Brewers have to operate right now when he leaves or when he reaches the end if they hold on to him all the way it’s it’s it’s impossible for Milwaukee to resign him so if this is when his value is at its highest well then this is when you have to trade him Devin Williams for the New York Yankees I mean that’s what you’re looking for the Dodgers I mean he would be the closer for the Yankees in a heartbeat uh Weaver was great in the postseason but Williams is one of the best in baseball and the Dodgers a bullpen with Williams are you kidding me this is going to get interesting so much trade talk trade rumors trade news coming out of the winter meetings we went we’re almost at 30 minutes right now and we could probably continue but 30 minutes is sort of the the the ceiling here we’ll keep watching it big news goes down big trades go down we will be here to react to it live so make sure you have your
