all right worst loss of the year for the Texans just got back from the uh the locker room the Texans locker room after their uh 2722 loss to the Tennessee Titans I and I got to tell you this is this is the worst loss of the season and they’ve they’ve had some pretty ugly losses but this one uh is as bad as it gets I I don’t know if it eliminates hope um some would say it should uh some of the stuff that was said afterwards I don’t think it’s going to make you feel better but there there’s no sugar coating it this offense is not good and this this offense this offensive line specifically is is such to where if if if you’re an optimist and you have big hopes for the Texans and you were thinking this is going was going to be like one of those years where perhaps the Texans are are able to make some sort of run and take some sort of step and all the stuff we’ve talked about uh I I I don’t know how you still feel that way at this point uh just watching this squad this this game was a situation where there there were some lapses on defense and we can sit here and we can talk about yeah the the the defense gave up a couple of big plays and they did but when you have eight sacks and you score a touchdown on defense uh and on in special teams you give the offense on their first possession the ball on the 20 yard line uh the opposing 20 yard line uh you should win the game period Point Blank into story this this one is on the offense we want to play the blame game this one’s on the offense there’s a lot of other things that went wrong there’s a lot of other stuff uh that didn’t go down uh but this one is on the offense this this this was a loss on the offense period point blank in the story um they came out flat we talked about the potential hangover and the inability to get up after all these Prime Time games they came out flat and they look terrible and this this one is on the offense not not the defense not special teams this one is on the offense uh and we’ll hear from a lot of the members of the offense we’ll hear from some guys uh on the defense but this for for the way that this game started and the way that it finished uh and the way that the Titans just kept trying and trying and trying to give the Texans an opportunity to to win this game they just want it the Texans just did not did not want this game they did not uh figure it out and and they they did not deserve to win this game quite frankly and right now the Texans are a team that is lucky to be in the AFC South uh they’re lucky uh to have a division of disappointing teams and the Texans right now are they they are no better than where O’Brien’s teams were uh on the back end where you win the AFC South and you you have a limited ceiling this team is not making a run the playoffs there’s no chance uh the this offensive line will not allow it this offense will not allow it uh they got a lot of problems uh the W the the wide receiver depth is bad uh that continues to be a problem there’s a reason that they traded for Stefan Diggs in the first place uh the offensive line can’t be fixed uh unless there’s some sort of offseason and could I interest you in a stat in the last five games the defense actually has more touchdowns than the offense the offense has one touchdown and it was kind of a chicken crap touchdown if we’re being honest at the end at the end of the half with the Cowboys they were clearly trying to end the in the in the drought and it meant nothing because once again today Derek Barnett with the touchdown last week Jimmy Ward with the touchdown this week the defense has two touchdowns in the last five weeks in the second half the offense has one oh and by the way the offense had a safety today so the offense has produced Five Points if you take if you take away the two points from the safety today the offense uh has produced outside of field goals they’ve produced five points in the second half of games not counting field goals and that’s another thing all in itself the Cami Fair Baron Miss field goal and I know there’s probably some people that are upset with Cami Fair Baron rightfully so it’s fine he should make that field goal he knows it there’s a reason he threw his helmet down he’s really lucky they didn’t call the penalty on him uh for pouting in in the middle of the field and throwing his helmet down looking like a weirdo out there after he missed the field goal but I’m actually I’m I’m actually think that the uh the atmosphere the environment or whatever is kind of just evening out with kyami Fair Baron because I think I think Cami Fair Baron’s kind of spoiled the Texans quite frankly you go back to earlier in the season when he’s when he’s booting these when he’s booting these field goals from 50 yards uh 50 plus yards to where they’re almost settling for him uh I think this is just kind of even and out and and it’s given us it’s given us a better grasp uh a better reflection of what this football team is which is just not very good so I I the the the fair bearon field goal yeah that sucks but at least he’s not spoiling you and kind of blinding you to what kind of football team this is it it’s it’s not it’s not a it’s not a disciplined football team it’s not a good football team it’s a really good defense but they even had some lapses today and quite frankly they have to be perfect it doesn’t matter what this defense does this defense is set up to where they they can’t make a couple of mistakes because the offense isn’t going to do anything for you in the second half so if you have eight sacks in a pick six it’s not going to be enough if you have uh five interceptions of Jared gof more than he thrown all season up to that point it’s not going to be enough because the offense gives you no effing chance to win at all uh Mushroom on the Super Chat swarm in the Super Chat and we’ll hear from Deo Ryan in a sec I I haven’t heard this yet I’m going to be listening to it with you but I if what he said um holds up uh or what I heard he said then I’m gonna be a little bit disappointed in Deo as well swarm uh musroom 713 says at best we are a first round exit I I I don’t know I mean I they’re definitely they’re definitely not some sort of contender that’s going to flip the switch the offense gives you no champ there uh shrimpz appreciates you uh as well yeah this is this is a terrible off I don’t know if we’re swarming to the offseason just yet uh Trent but they actually get they actually lowered the magic number in the division uh which is hard to believe coming into this game we said it we we talked about this the the main the main concern for the Texans was the Tennessee defensive line and you were not going to be able to run the ball on the Tennessee Titans and that was obvious from the very jump uh Joe Mixon today 14 carries uh 22 yards is what Joe Mixon had he had 14 carries for 22 yards is what Joe Mixon had CJ strata had 18 yards a lot of those yards were from running for his life and I I thought that one of the more telling sequences uh of this game and a lot of people were upset that demo Ryan decided to punt on fourth and one I had no problem with him punting on fourth and one to me the the the most frustrating thing and the most ridiculous outlandish thing was the fact that the Texans decided after Joe Mixon ran the ball that they were going to rush to the line of scrimmage and make him run the ball again right up the middle on Third and one as they were going to be able to run the Rock and catch the Titans sleeping or something like that how how was that what what was the vision that Bobby slowick had when he decided to do that like what what were we damn it Bobby what was the what was the vision and what was the idea that Bobby slowick had when he decided that he was going to rush up to the line of scrimmage on Third and one run the ball right up the middle and then you’re going to decide that you’re going to punt the ball which is fine it’s a six-point game I have no problem with that because I don’t have confidence in this offense picking up a half yard by the way I’m kind of jealous of the Tennessee Titans first of all will Levis outplayed CJ strad uh I wouldn’t it’s not like I would trade CJ strad for will Levis but I am jealous it is it must be nice to have an offense where a quarterback sneak is actually an option because it’s just it’s just what what is the what is the success rate on on quarterback sneaks it just seems it seems like it’s a relatively effective play and the Tennessee Titans have that the Texans don’t yeah the home fans were booing today they should have booed they should have booed from the jump it was a terrible play and let’s just be honest like this is this is a the the the way in which the Texans spoke this week if we go back and look at it and a lot of this is hindsight I actually talked about some of this in the moment um it it kind of gave you some warning signs that this team wasn’t gonna be ready to play first of all they treated beating the Dallas Cowboys like they beat Troy Aman EMT Smith Michael Irving Dion Sanders Leon Le Charles haey uh Darren Woodson like they they act they acted like they beat like the real the real Dallas Cowboys that was that was weird I know I know it’s cool to beat the Cowboys but that was weird but it the the the one thing and the one constant theme that kept getting brought up and I can’t believe that it was even being ass quite frankly I think it was that embarrassing was when the Nico Collins play against the Cowboys the first play The Long touchdown that didn’t count when that when that happened the manner in which it was spoken of even by demo Ryan was as if that was some sort of impressive feat and oh yeah by the way the offensive lineman laremy tonsil just happen to get that play wiped away but you know that’s just kind of a small thing what happened again this week what happened again this week ano Collins touchdown gets it’s negated again why because you have you have motion you you have you have two guys going in motion that should be a sensitive topic for a coach when a 70 yard touchdown happens and it gets wiped away because one of the themes that has been consistent with this football team all year the offensive line either getting physically dominated or getting penalties that hurt the team happens but the way in which Deo spoke about it the way in which it was just spoke of in general was man what an impressive play by Nico Collins but oh shucks there was just a little bit of a penalty and you know what we really rep we really responded and we went up there and got a touchdown uh afterwards it was almost just looked at as like no big deal the offensive line has been babied all year and I’ve I’ve kind of tried to understand because I don’t think you’re going to give tough this offensive line into being a good offensive line but it’s just clear that the way in which they look at this offense the way in which this offense functions they they might they might as well be wearing flags and getting juice boxes at halftime because they’re not treated like the rest of the squad and we’ll hear from Deo Ryans in a sec let’s go to some supers in a sec because he said something that I think just kind of just kind of symbolizes where this football team is and quite frankly any reservations you had about demo Ryan’s um when the Texans hired him and I didn’t have any reservations I wanted demo Ryan to be the guy but any reservations uh that you may have had about demo Ryan they’re they’re alive and well we’ll hear it in a sec uh but but here here’s uh some more Super chats Let’s uh hear from Mark Mark says trade LT and Howard in the offseason I don’t know I I wouldn’t care I wouldn’t care I I think I think there’s a mental that this offensive line possesses that that that I think makes it impossible um for this squad to be look there there was a play today where you saw um I think it was a will Levis run to the right side and Kamari Lasser was trying to make the tackle and Tennessee’s offensive lineman I don’t know if it’s their left tackle or right tackle number 75 he’s running full speed he knocks Kamari Lasser on his ass just as hard as possible I looked over to the guy I was sitting by uh Adam Wexler and Cody stuts and I said man that was a that was a hell of a block I don’t see that too often they’re like well they get out there they just don’t really hit anyone and I think that’s I think that’s just kind of the mentality of the offensive line so as far as trading guys I’m I’m open for anything and everything uh in that I I would I would rather grow with Blake Fischer and see some sort of new mindset um than than just keep this thing as is you damn sure can’t do that uh Brandon on the soup uh the offense does doesn’t even scare Mo most of the time unless defense or special score most of the time unless defense or special teams gives him a short field yeah first uh second play of the game today you had a 80 yard kick return by Damen Pierce and you had a 20- yard touchdown they got the short field and even when they get a short field uh Chris Boyd hell of a play uh he recovers the fumble inside territory you end up having to settle for a field goal there they don’t take advantage of the opportunities they get hell at the end of the game you had the the defense forc the three and out and the offense couldn’t do anything at the end they had a lot of opportunities courtesy the offense uh Kareem not sure if CJ is shk or just doesn’t trust his surroundings but Manny was not great uh Bobby big braiding himself again today zero trust in Bobby yeah I I understand that I don’t see why you would trust uh damn it Bobby Bobby slowick right now I don’t know what’s up with CJ will Lis out played him period point blank in the story we’ll hear from him in a sec uh but he wasn’t good either uh aown 9 for Bobby slowick worst Doc in franchise history when you account for talent fire him now I don’t know whether you fire him or not I I would make the change at this point I I would very much consider it or you got to change something on offensive line change something change something that’s that’s the bottom line change something move Titus Howard to guard uh move Blake Fischer to right tackle change something that’s that’s where that’s where it should be right now change something figure something out make some sort of move quit just going about this and saying we got to be better we got to execute make some sort of change schedules about to get a hell of a lot more difficult uh Rob says I’ve said Deo seems too much of a buddy buddy coach with players and they’re too undisciplined as a result I disagree with that his defense is fine his defense is fine it’s the offense and when D Ryans was hired and we’re about to hear something it’s going to drive you fing nuts cuz I know a lot of y’all haven’t heard this yet but the defense is fine defense gets the job done whether will Anderson’s in there or not two sacks for Will Anderson in his return denal hunter three sacks today they get the job done it’s the offense and that was the biggest push back on demo Ryan’s hiring he’s a defensive minded coach you need an offensive you need a guy who knows offense demo is functioning right now as a guy who does not really have a grasp of the offensive side of the ball and you can say well there have been injuries and they don’t have a good offensive line there have been injuries on defense those guys are coached up his specialty is is fantastic the explosives got the best of them today they gave up couple of big plays one early one late but they they still had a shot like if the offense does the equivalent of what the defense did you win the game they do the equivalent of what special teams did besides fairb you win the game they couldn’t do it uh Nathan says this game reminds me of the 2019 game against the Broncos 2019 against the Broncos man that was an assing dude that was a beat down you’re talking about the Drew loot game yeah I don’t know about that like maybe you’re just as pissed off and the Broncos sucked and all that and that was before you took on the Titans um but that that was an absolute Beatdown that was the you suck two mother trucker Bill O’Brien that was Kareem Jackson um coming back getting the uh the fumble touchdown uh I think what was it 28 three and a half or something like that yeah that was that was nothing that was just a complete Beatdown this wasn’t a beat down this was just pathetic um and playing down to competition but yeah let’s hear from Deo rans see what he’s got to say he said something uh at least I heard I want to get the full context of it that I think is uh very troubling to say the very least here’s Deo Ryan’s uh addressing the [Music] media uh just disappointing laws for us uh we didn’t do anything well enough to win this game uh out of all the positives that we did have there were way too many negatives right too many negative plays right we score we get a penalty we get touchdowns called back uh get penalties on a special team it’s just way too many negative plays defensively like unexplainable right uh explosives for touchdowns it’s just we didn’t play good across the board and that starts with me obviously you know we weren’t weren’t ready to go as a team so that starts with meating but what’s the most frustrating part uh most frustrating part about it is I mean out of all the bad things that happened we still had a chance to win and finish the game right I mean everything that could go wrong it went wrong but we still had a chance there you know to tie it up you know and and finish the game but we didn’t second half SC been an issue for a few weeks now today what’s kind of to try get that going Conant you seen from some of those issues yeah the first thing is we have to create positive plays right too many times whether it’s run or pass we have a negative play which it just kills our drive so first thing first how can we sustain positive plays and and build drives too many drives who are stalled out before we can even get started things that we’ve all asked or kind of issu throughout the entire year how come the little things been so consist have yeah again like we have to be able to finish games and that’s been an emphasis of ours is going out and finishing and you know we did it we didn’t execute we didn’t finish the right way and uh you can put that on me first you guys lost the last two onore games is there a growing concern right now that you guys just the offense now the concern for me is we need to play complimentary football right we play complimentary football we win games when we don’t we’re not relying on one side right to carry the entire team so whatever happens like uh our offense gave us enough points to win the game come on dude starts with the defense didn’t do enough the offense gave us enough points to win the game like come on man like let’s let’s just come on like ah we didn’t stop the run and we didn’t run the ball well and we gave up way too many points on defense so our offense did plenty they gave us no points and defense we had to be able to stop there’s been a couple of short situations this year where you guys have gone up Tempo what goes into the decision making process to maybe get up to the line of scrimmage as quickly is that something that you’re talking about Bobby before that happens yeah that’s part of our strategy depending on the game so there sometimes we use it to catch teams you know subing or the catch teams off guard yeah again it starts with their their defensive line they’re really good front right really good front we knew that going into the game but it doesn’t matter every front is good you gotta you got to own the line of scrimmage so you have to be able to line of scrimmage and run the ball we did like we had too many negative plays in in the running game and defensively like we didn’t set the edge well and the ball got outside a ton and we didn’t tackle well so all of those mistakes are the making for a pretty bad run defense well the mo obviously it’s real easy to see the bad things that happened but you did have a couple of good things and one of them was Chris come on dude yeah a lot of lot of positive things happen I mean for us to get a turnover we talked about uh throughout the week for special teams create a turnover we did that defensively to get a a pick six uh get eight sacks in the game it was a lot of really good things that happened you know for our team but the negatives just right now just outweigh the positives so uh but um our guys continue to do good things but we have to shring it shring it together to where we can finish and celebrate those positives right after the game how do you assess performance like that you do have eight sacks and turnovers score yeah how I assess it is at the end of the day is not good enough right at the end of the day we’re trying to finish the game with the win no matter how that looks and we came up short figure nothing happened I decided to pun the football all right all right there you go uh that’s demo Ryan I I gotta tell you man like he is functioning and he is sounding like a guy who leans defense and only really has a grasp uh of the defensive side of the rock for for that and that’s not to say that this is always going to be the case but to say that the the offense scored enough points today is it’s embarrassing to say that because I can promise you that if the defense put out the equivalent performance that the offense put out today and the offense put out the equivalent performance of what the defense put out he would be he wouldn’t be saying that and this offense whether it’s Personnel or not they don’t make changes they don’t make adjustments now is there any like magical adjustment that they can have he’ll just simplify it as execute now he’ll do that with his defense too but we’ll actually see results whether guys are in or not we’ll see that from Theo Ryan we don’t see that from the offense one of your touchdowns on offense was a 19 yard pass after Damen Pierce had an 81 yard return seven more of your points came on a pick six by J by uh Jimmy Ward that’s 14 points right there 14 of your 27 to say that they played good enough to win today it shows me that it it it it puts out the it puts out the perception it puts out the what’s the word I’m looking for it it just puts out the front like you’re only focused on the defense which is what people get concerned about when you hire a defensive-minded coach and again not just based on Words it’s based on actions Nico Collins scores a touchdown last week and you’re talking about how cool that play was and kind of simplifying and minimizing that there was a penalty that took that play away Kenyan green struggling at almost like an awkward level to where you almost feel sorry for him people can see it and you’re going up there and you’re saying well you know there’s some really good things going on too with Kenyan green when we know damn well if the equivalent of Kenyan green was happening on defense something would have changed it wouldn’t have taken an injury for that change to be made so when I hear Dem o Ryan say that I it’s it’s concerning because I don’t I don’t know that they’re going to change anything on offense I can promise you this and I can say this with 100% certainty and you can chalk this down to either coaching or you can chalk this down to Personnel I promise you they’re not going to be giving up too many explosive plays next week uh that is going to be a point of emphasis and as long as demo Ryan is overseeing that defense I think you’re in good shape but this offense is neglected it’s limited it’s neglected it’s embarrassing it’s pathetic they’ve scored one touchdown in the second half in the last five games that’s 10 quarters that’s two and a half game that’s the equivalent of two and a half games two and a half games this offense when it matters most when it’s supposed to be oh they’re going to go make halftime adjustments you hear that all the time this offense they’ve scored one touchdown and it was a [ __ ] touchdown against the Cowboys they were clearly just trying to get in the end zone to get rid of this embarrassing streak they’ve scored one touchdown in the second half in the last five games defense has scored two and you hear Dem o Ryan say when asked about this earlier this year I think it was two year uh two or three weeks ago you hear him say Well you know like it’s not like there’s some sort of pixie dust you uh you throw uh you throw on and you know there’s some halftime adjustments you know that’s it doesn’t really work like that it’s you know blah blah blah okay then a week later you ask him about how they were able to fix something in the second half he said well we adjust it at halftime he sounds like a defensive coach that is limited offensively and that’s what the football team looks like that’s what the football team looks like for him to go up there and say the offense scored enough points today to win the game how low is your bar and your standard because it’s clearly high for your defense your defense had eight sacks and a touchdown they gave up a couple of big plays you don’t want that to happen Eric Murray got got put on skates I think they’re still looking for his jock strap uh on the 20 yard line uh you had the you had the tight end after the pick six like the immediate score that’s pathetic too that’s embarrassing I’m sure that he’s not happy with that but you had eight sacks and a touchdown you scored one less touchdown than the offense and one of the touchdowns that the offense scored was because special teams gave you the ball inside the Red Zone and you scored on the first play and you say that the offense scored enough and the defense needs to be better you’re kind of telling on yourself there Deo you’re kind you’re kind of telling on yourself coach and I’m a I’m a big fan of demo Ryan I love demo Ryan I think he’s doing an excellent job I think he’s probably going through some Growing Pains but when you go up there and you say that you’re telling on yourself man you’re telling on yourself I mean he’s he’s been telling on himself the last few weeks I’m not sitting here saying that I’m not sitting here saying that it’s the gospel what they say at the podium they they lie to us they can lie with the the purpose but when you go up there after this game regardless of the why you’re saying it but when you go up there and you say our offense played good enough for us to win we got to be better on defense you’re telling on yourself you’re a defensive minded head coach you’re a defensive minded head coach and quite frankly I don’t need to hear a damn word that you say at the podium this is just confirmation I watch this team play I watch every snap of this team I follow this team as close as anyone in the country you don’t even have to tell me that but you’re confirming it we don’t know everything no nobody knows everything about these guys we don’t know what they’re saying behind the scenes we don’t know what they’re we don’t know what they’re doing but when you when you watch this football team you can tell okay this is a defensive minded football team you can tell and then when you watch this game and the way that it played out and the head coach of your football team after this game with how it played out goes up there and says our offense scored enough points to win and our defense needs to be better I don’t know what the hell you’re watching and you’ve forgotten more football than I’ll ever know and I do think that eventually demo Ryan is going to be the guy to get this team to the promised land but you’re a defensive-minded coach man which is fine but your team plays like it your team plays like it if you told me right now I would do I I would I would do this for y’all if you told me right now I live 20 miles 20 20ish miles maybe less 15 miles whatever from NRG if you told me right now for the sake of the city for the sake of for the for the sake of everybody in this chat that wants the Texans to do well if you if if you told me for the sake for for the sake of the the city for the sake of the Texans if you walk Barefoot right now back to NRG and you just got home from NRG but if you walk Barefoot to NRG we will give you the coaching equivalent on offense of demo Ryan that gets the most of his guys adjusts accordingly makes do with what he’s got gets the most out of his players maximizes his Stars if you told me that I could walk Barefoot to NRG and do that for everybody involved for the people I would do that because that’s how highly I think of demo Ryan as a defensive coach it’s complete opposite on offense and for him to go up there and say that that the the offense performed well enough today he’s telling on himself maybe that’s holding his defense to too high of a standard and maybe that’s just the reality of the situation which could be the case but you’re telling on yourself man and we see it not saying that’s permanent or anything but that’s just the reality of what it is this defense is really really good they have to be perfect to win and this offense just flat out sucks that’s reality sorry it’s where we’re at uh on the uh on the Super Chat swarm uh bull crap game we need to win those types of games uh it seems like we just felt like we thought it was an easy win showed up uh why we aren’t capable to win yet yeah this was you know you’ve gotten up for like the Prime Time games lately uh and we’ve seen the Texans do it and then this one a little noon game on a Sunday against a bad football team they didn’t get up but let’s be honest did they really get up for the Prime Time games they get up for the Jets game they get up for the Lions game the offense disappeared again in the Lions game defense forc five turnovers five interceptions Jared gof he had four going into the game he had five in that game Cowboys okay they suck but like I I I’m not I’m not dismissing it I’m not saying it’s not true I’m just saying like that almost sometimes it almost comes across as like that they wanted it more when people say that it’s like well the hell does that mean they wanted it more look the same to the I mean it was a different version it didn’t play out the exact same but it was kind of the same as the Lions didn’t score a touchdown in the in the second half defense had like a see seon high performance it was interceptions against the Lions it was sacks today and you lose the game at the end looks kind of the same to me I’m sure demo blame the defense for that one too uh they call me Mr Nobody uh we about to witness the same melt DME that Jags had last year who’s the Texans though because the Texans kind of found their groove a little bit late in the year like I I I’m not like if this were a good Division and there were like an okay team I could point to then maybe I could agree with that who who’s going to who’s going to take it it’s damn sure not gosh Allen and the Titans he’s still horrible so who’s taking it would be my question like who’s who’s doing it who’s going to get it done Avenue uh on the super outside of Nico and mix in the offense is it swarm they told you that they told you that in the offseason there there’s a reason they traded for Stefan dicks this this wide receiver cores average at best uh mie and CJ Str had the miscommunication whatever the hell that interception was tank Dell had another drop that was big third and 16 by the way after two straight uh false starts by the offensive line yeah they told you they didn’t believe in these receivers uh the way Ryan gets after the the defense with mistakes does Bobby do that or just keep quiet also I feel like CJ should go after the o line like Brady and Manning would look do you think this offensive line I’m I don’t even know if there’s like a tough love thing like I don’t I I don’t I think this offensive line has a mindset ly tonsil he moves the way that he moves okay For Better or Worse he’s we we’ve talked about it before he’s acknowledged it he he does his own thing you think that CJ Stout yo at lar me tunel is goingon to gonna pay off I would doubt it uh Caris says get mlan uh out of the city uh what kind of question was that that wasn’t mlan that was another old white guy with a country accent that was a really nice guy he’s from Gilmer with Chris Boyd’s from so I guess all old white guys sound alike um MH we eat Nation anybody worried about the Jags game next week no but shoot not really but I mean this is a this is definitely a sloppy Squad so I mean it’s anything can happen I guess but no not really uh Scott Davis how many more games will we really win ja is coming off their bu Miami here Kansas City short turnaround for Ravens here then Titans who just beat us the magic numers three that’s the beauty of it so any combination of three Texans wins and uh Colts losses and and you’re good to go um I would say maybe a couple uh I mean they’re a nine 10 win team maybe I would say I mean maybe Kansas City’s taken it easy at that time you never know 10 you know the 11 12’s kind of gone down a little bit uh this offense is horrible golf was less frustrating yeah I wouldn’t know golf doesn’t frustrate me because I I approach golf with the understanding that I suck at golf and it just it really doesn’t it really doesn’t bother me um as much when uh when I play it but I have seen a lot of frustration before uh RH says the Titans offense shouldn’t have scored 30 points um I would agree with you the 17 I think was the number that they’ve been stuck on for a while that definitely should not happen uh CJ gave them a couple of uh ints in the own territory and let’s be honest CJ wasn’t good either so there is that we’ll hear from him in just a second uh Nathan Palmer demo is talking like he wants the defense to perform like the 2000 Ravens fact man fact he’s a defensive minded guy they they apparently got to do everything that’s the uh that’s that’s the way with Deo right now just please carry us we’ll figure this out uh shout out to Derek I know he was frustrated early on said they kind of came out flat uh Dereck says the most disappointing thing for me is this is not a smart well coach team expected different from Ryan’s I think the defense is well coached I I think there’s like some lapses in judgment every once in a while but I I think there’s I think there’s some significant issues in the secondary that are that have been relatively masked um specifically with Murray uh and I think Ward’s age kind of appears although I thought Ward looked good in the nickel I know that was kind of a popular like kind of joke where he was an elite Nickel in San Francisco and he wanted to be a full-time safety here didn’t want to go back to playing nickel uh and that was kind of a joke but I actually thought he did just as good in the Petri role as Petri he had the tfl he had three tfl six tackles uh I thought he did a good job there I think that’s what he should be uh but he just seems really opposed to it but there are some limitations at safety for him I think Murray’s just kind of a disaster um and I think there’s I think there’s some natural limitations um special teams they’ve done some dumb stuff with Sims uh offense I mean I think we’ve already addressed that but yeah it’s it’s not it’s not the smoothest uh coach Squad to say the least the football IQ doesn’t appear to be too high uh Kevin Smith says strad looks like he’s locking into a receiver now instead of going through his progressions like last year o line play hasn’t helped of course thank you for all you do Landry Tex and GNA Tex and Kevin I appreciate you my friend nothing else I would rather do whether it’s uh this radio whatever uh thank you for uh for joining the uh the community and uh getting through this together um when do we start consider management shuffling um I mean I this is a they’ve done a good job I mean I don’t I don’t think they need like be vague but I’ll just I’ll just pull this up like this is juice Scruggs uh who struggled I caught up with him after the game and uh just to give you like an idea of kind of the locker room uh here’s here’s juice Scruggs how he’s talking about things uh being kind of one of the one of the faces of the most frustrating part of this football team but we got to figure it out we will is it a is it a Unison thing is it a one guy doesn’t get a done thing kind of KN at the end of the day uh 11 on the field we a team uh so can’t point a finger at one person at the end of day it’s team effort we just gotta be better you apologize you been ask how do you guys get these things fixed you guys have been talking about a lot of this I know deo’s har on as well what gets it fixed uh putting our mind to it uh coming in put your mind to it just getting back to the basics for Real uh I think that’s what it’s going to start with uh and just taking it day by day are you confident it can get better yeah for sure for sure uh I know like I just said that’s not us how’s that not y’all G we just played that looked we know that uh and we’ll be better that like that’s that’s that’s the thing I’m talking about that’s really confusing with this squad like y’all y’all watch every play with the Texans right like I I I’m assuming most of y’all do that kind of looked like the Texans to me like did that did that not look kind of what you’re kind of like what you’re used to when it comes to this Texans offensive line like that that looked that looked I I felt pretty comfortable I mean I didn’t I didn’t look at that game and say damn who are these guys I haven’t seen this all year I mean he’s say he’s saying that’s not us how not I mean we’ve been watching this look look like look like them to success with a lot of the Year running the ball why do you feel like today that was different uh I really just got to watch the film but uh like like coach said energy wasn’t there um those guys brought it to us um so we didn’t respond well um so we just got to find ways to uh treat every opponent the same and just come out here and be ready to play every week um I think that’s something we can do to grow as a team so you just gota you know flush it uh watch the film see what we can learn from it and just think about the rest of the season what type of Team you want to be where we want to go and just go for as a team when you’re not playing up to your potential how frustrating is it you guys aren’t playing up to that type of standard oh yeah it’s definitely frustrating uh because I mean we all set goals at the beginning of the Season uh we know the type of players we got on this team uh so we just got to go out there and play our branded football and I feel like we just was complacent um so let those guys get in the game and they want you know it’s NFL every team no matter the record it’s great football players on every team those guys made plays and we didn’t so that’s game they talk about gut checks they talk about look in the mirror time does this feel like this team has reached the crossroads you’re either going to go up or to stay like this oh we got to make a decision we got make a decision who we want to be for the rest of the season uh King keep winning one week losing next week uh it’s not good football uh so it’s getting to the end of the year when get close to playoffs so we got to find out what team we want to be now and not wa too late before we be fighting for the division at the end of year like we were last year so we need just go ahead and do we got do like said got look in mirror at each other like ourselves and see what we can do make each other better and help all right that’s that’s uh Titus Howard okay uh Shaq Mason spoke today let’s will fall where it needs to be constra together knowes with the records I know everybody says that but was there any like okay well we’re supposed to beat these guys do you feel there was any of that yeah I mean it’s the NFL man you know Any Given Sunday can’t no guys like the regardless of the record that’s those are still NFL players on that side of the ball on that other team so I mean can’t take guys slly and I don’t think that was I don’t think that was mindset running uh up the middle is is tough everybody thought that was sweat and Simmons those guys are very good players um was it particularly tough sling or was it Prett much you expect as Stout as they’ve been um yeah I mean those guys are you know what I’m saying they’re they’re deserving CR they get up front you know guys in the middle but um I think honestly it’s all us you know I’m saying we be on details more and you know we know when we’re on our keys and everything that we can do whatever we want any after the game the message the Viber on the team what is it what was the post game like you got to get it going I mean it’s nut cutting time y accountability absolutely nut cutting time okay um that’s that’s Shaq uh we don’t talk to Shaq as much he’s always willing to talk um but that’s what he had to uh had to say about it we’ll hear from uh some other uh offensive lineman a little bit later on but let’s hear stoud CJ what happened on the two interceptions uh first I just want to thank Jesus for this opportunity to play in the NFL playing on Sunday and um just very grateful to him of being my savior um but um I mean the first one didn’t really could really see much um try to put it in the window and you know we just weren’t on the same page and can’t do that right there um you know that’s giving them points which ultimately let us to lose and then the second one just got to put it a little higher um if I get it to him Nico has a lot of space to run so just two mistakes that I made that can’t happen where do you think the biggest struggle comes in offensively in the second half um you can point a lot of places but I always point in myself you know um I’m the leader of the offense I got to get us rolling get our Rhythm you know and you know um you know we got to find a better way to to end the first half better start the second half better and you know that’s ultimately starts with me and you know taking care of the football and you know getting into a rhythm running the ball well getting us into the right reads right looks so um yeah I would just say that’s why I mean that’s how we’re going to get better is just I got to be better got to practice really hard um gotta be really on each other you know everybody has to look yourself in the mirror and try to get things fixed so um that’ll be the plan for this week practicing um getting better um personally I got to get better as a team we have to get better um you know trying to go to back Jacksonville and get a dub before by week CJ is there ever a sense of how we’re in this position again when you face some of these second and third Longs feel like been consistent for a few weeks now they were wondering how does this happen again how are we in another second third long situation uh not necessarily I I’m I try to One play mentality as best I can and try to execute the next play um so you know whatever down a distance it is I try to put my team in the best position to get the first or to get a explosive or whatever we need to you know to help the team so um that’s just my mindset when it comes to that obviously you know you you have all the time in the world from your perspective what do you have to do better person you have to do get back on track I got to just practice better play better I mean it’s no it’s no secret I mean I I haven’t been playing well personally from my standard um I have a couple good d good plays here but it’s just up and down right now so um I got to just you know for me I feel like starts with practice and then it comes to the game staying focused and I mean I’ve been focused I watched as much film as anybody and um It’s just sometimes it doesn’t go your way and you know I got to be harder on myself and you know realize that you know games can’t come down and me making plays and you know I didn’t make enough and I gave up the ball twice today so um I got to just be better um and I know that so um but it’s no time I’m not going to hold my head down I’m you know keep my chin up chest high and just you know I know I’m still a great player but I got to just you know put better stuff on the field how much has some of the the pressures in the sacks earlier in the season caused uh caused you to be in the pocket later on this season not much I mean uh I would say I’ve been pretty comfortable today I was pretty comfortable you know we went I think three quarters without a sack and then the fourth quarter gave a couple and some of them my fault so um yeah no he’s blame I’m not really too affected by them I try to sit him there as best as I can or when it’s not open down the field you know um then IID try to take off and make a play and you know just be smart with my legs as well but I really let it affect me too much what was supposed score with tank and you know miscommunication on my part in the Huddle um and you know two motions at the same time that play kind of maybe seals the deal you go down the one or I don’t know if Nico scored I stopped paying attention but um you know if he scored then you know we give our defense the chance to stand up and then run it out or you know we’re on the one run it in or throw it in and um then we give our defense another chance so um that’s things that can’t happen you know I got to be better in the Huddle I gota give the play better and you know make sure guys are on the same page and even when we break the Huddle still communicate a little bit and make sure you know everybody’s doing what they’re doing but yeah it was my fault no uh they brought a couple they brought a zero and then they brought a couple Dropout mans and things like that towards the end of the second half um I mean the end of the first half second half they brought a zero and some little one backer replacement pressures but nothing insane um that we didn’t think about but ultimately yeah I mean uh I wouldn’t say it affected metion a little earlier to Jonathan but can you talk about the challenges just collected you guys hav’t we already done that I mean it really hasn’t been that crazy um there’s a couple protections here a couple things there but I wouldn’t say there too much but that’ll cost you the game is one one mistake you know that’s NFL that’s the that’s you know the best players in the world you know and um I told you guys how good the Titans defense was and you know we got to be better as offense and give our defense a chance to you know stand up at the end collectively it seems like the little things offensively have been happening all season long just little mistakes talking about legal formations and things like that at this point what from an approach perspective practice leing up to the game you guys do differ gotta keep practicing and keep playing I mean there’s I mean you tell me I don’t know that’s all I know how to do is just practice better play better meet better tell them Paul um do everything better you know and when it comes out like that it’s not fun but you know it’s part of the game and we’ll use it one one game out of the Year that’ll teach us a lesson sadly we have to learn right now or it’ll teach us in in future years and for me I’m just you know gonna use this as time where I need to look myself in Mir and get better so you all right there you go CJ stad um a lot of people talking about his Spirit seems crushed I don’t know whether it’s uh I don’t know whether it’s crushed or not I just know it’s not it’s not great uh what’s going of Jared Patterson I feel like I feel like it was a good vibe um better grasp than I would say probably Titus um we’ve heard all the perspectives of the offensive line for the most part hadn’t heard from Jared Patterson we’ll hear from him in a sec but most importantly and this is the most important part of this swarm here from the community uh McNair needs to make the call for SLO ex to motion I I would let cerio or Deo make that call I I don’t know that Deo cares about offense I think he’s just focused on defense so I he’s probably he’s hell deo’s probably looking at uh he’s probably looking more closer at uh Eric Murray and the uh fourth string D lineman than anything like that he doesn’t he’s not worried about the offense um they did they did fine today according to Deo so yeah I don’t I don’t know he’s even looking at B Bobby might get a promotion I mean he he did a good job according to demo um Brandon says you think we’ll see some change at OC or more gaslighting I mean it’s gaslighting let’s be honest they’re not going to change anything on offense the offense was good enough you heard what Deo said Deo said the offense was good enough that was a hell of a performance by them two touchdowns one of them on a 19 yard short field uh you know I mean one touchdown the last five weeks defense has got to be better you heard Deo that’s the coach he’s telling you that uh Kyle says possible the defense is putting too much pressure on themselves to create big plays since they know the offense is crippled reason for big plays big plays will happen when you have Eric Murray at safety big plays are going to happen I don’t think they’re putting any pressure pressure they had eight sacks every time that the offense needed a second chance they got a second chance kyy Fabe missed a 30 yard field goal by the way he’s lucky that he didn’t get a flag for throwing his helmet on the field like an idiot with three timeouts left defense got a three and out after that and they kept they kept a time out for the offense obviously they don’t need to give away those the those big plays we we agree but when you have Eric Murray at safety there’s going to there’s going to be situations Jimmy Ward every once in a while is gonna give up the big play but eight sacks multiple times you gave him a short field to work with fumble recoveries and the offense does nothing I don’t think the defense is I think the defense don’t change a damn thing maybe a couple maybe a couple plays here there don’t change a damn thing keep doing what y’all doing it’s a damn good defense uh Rick shout out to you what’s the deal with the second half implosion stuff just play calling issues are the dudes eating pizza pizza in the locker room see that’s that’s a fan right there you’re talking studying study and highlighters index cards all that crap and then he goes and takes the test he probably gets an a a lot of time not always but he gets an a he’s a good student if in that same class they give him a pop te a pop quiz he probably fails and he pees his pants and he walks out of the classroom with crusty pants I don’t think Bobby slowick can adjust at halftime also think that if we’re going to stay with the college analogy I think a lot of times bobb’s having to take a test without a Scantron because this so line sucks there’s no other way to put it they’re not good this offensive line sucks and they’re not going to get better unless there’s like a drastic change if D Ryan honestly thinks that he’s just going to throw this same offense out there and Bobby slowick uh and they’re going to do the same and they’re going to be able to figure something out he’s he’s mistaken last year you were shuffling offensive lines every week and you were better maybe you need to start shuffling something on this offensive line is preventing you from getting the job done this isn’t hard it’s not difficult to see this wouldn’t happen on deo’s defense there would be some sort of change it’s not hard I mean it’s it’s obvious that you can’t do this do can I sit here and tell you that I have like some sort of formula some sort of recipe of this offensive line to be good hell no there’s there’s a there’s a better than likely chance that that doesn’t even exist it’s not even possible but if you think this is just going to be we got to execute we got to do better uh let’s just put these the same five out there we’re going to go out there and all of a sudden it’s going to be like some sort of like magical thing it’s not going to happen I also think you have issues at receiver you have no depth Joe Mixon was the only guy who carried the Rock today you don’t have like an extra element on offense you have no explosiveness at tight end Schultz and Stover I know Stover had a pretty decent game today he might need to start he might need to start playing more snaps than Schultz at this point I like Schultz he’s he’s my dude I like Schultz but at this point there’s a little bit more nasty with Stover you might need to take two steps back to hope that you can go four steps forward with him and put Dalton more in there in like natural receiving Downs get get just crank it up a notch let’s be serious there’s there’s no juice there with Schultz figure something out there the receiving core it’s it’s it’s not good Nico’s Elite and then it’s meh there’s a reason they traded for Stefan Diggs John M is not like a three receiving is not good either make some changes why not what’s what’s the worst they can have what are you going to not score in the second half like are you gonna are you going to change the offensive line golly how many games are left what are we at seven and five we got five games left what’s the worst that can happen with changing the top 100 players uh when he was playing nickel on the back end however demo Ryan and him uh Pro it promised that he would be a safety and I asked the question you know if Petri goes down he went down uh who fills that role Jimmy Ward was playing the Petri role which he’s already played I just didn’t think that was a thing I thought he was only going to play safety uh he did a good job three tfls uh he had the uh he had the early blunder in the game uh but that was that tradition safety as soon as he went to the nickel he was good played pretty well he was on the opposite side of the big play he had the tfl right before the pick six Jimmy was all over the place he’s so good at this role but he hates it I asked him about that he also probably had the most candid uh comments about this game let’s hear from Jimmy Ward here in the locker room postgame show uh before we uh get ready for little Sunday Night Football after game like this I was telling telling the guys throughout the game uh especially when I gave up that big play I was like never can get too high and never can get too low on this lead like if you get too high this lead will humble you so and I was you know some plays I was like yeah reset USA come to the sideline take the corrections take coaching and keep going H energy and also finish a lot this Locker today just where do you feel like the disconnect is for you guys right there both those uh we definitely could have came out with better energy but uh I don’t want to discredit the Titans uh they had a better game plan and they came out and made more plays so I definitely want to give credit to them why so many big plays they got explosives there’s some M tackles there’s some Buss and we’re late in the season and you guys have played together for a long time also played a lot of football why do you think that would happen it’s on the players uh I feel like it’s on the players we got to be more locked in uh got to be on it everybody got to do they want 11 you know it’s takes a team to win so if somebody off especially in the defense that we run then you know that could be explosive Jimmy there’s a lot of different guys that have said something like that where weren’t locked in enough or things of that nature why do you feel like that was the case um I don’t I don’t even have excuses like sometimes it’s it’s games like that and you know the good teams find a way to over come that and win and we just we didn’t overcome it today just generally Crossroad for this team guys start about a gut check or look in the mirror like will actually Titus what kind of team do you want to be definitely but I feel like you got to look in a mirror in this game since me playing 11 years I gotta look in a mirror every day it’s practices that don’t go as good as I would like and I have to look in a mirror so I guess you you can say that you know some guys you know after a loss you got look in mirror but I look in a miror after a loss after a win because even even if we win it’s always a play that I can do better it’s always something that I feel like I could have uh helped the team by you know um defeating a block and winning my one-onone up playing some some of the Reps that it feels like petre would have had you’ve done that before San Francisco how you feel like that me PR to do that a little bit more if he’s SC for a while uh I just gota I just got to do my 11 so whatever the coaches ask for me to try to help this team win that’s that’s what I’m going to do uh I I I think it went well um I’m just I’m I still think about some of the plays that I had and I’m telling the guys to reset and all that so but uh it’s I did I did I did good enough but I no you know what take that back I didn’t do well enough we lost you like you and Deo kind of had a joke about playing niichel though did do you feel a little different after going out there and having some sucess in that role kind of second half no he knows it no I got it I’m I’m whatever whatever moo want me to play you know he’s the head ball coach so he’s gonna put me in position to make plays and I just gotta make oh it’s it’s big you know his energy and just his physicality and just how smart he is a smart football player and like what he brings to this defense like you know obviously you saw that out there it’s a miss so you know hope hopefully you know is is minor and and he’ll be back just generally speaking a lot of expectations in this locker room for you guys and outside just to take a loss like this late in the year at home is tell me what frustrating is it oh it’s frustrating like every every loss frustrating so n it’s it’s it sucks to be honest to you uh I got to go home and watch F and P P it the bed and start start on the next team but you know we got to we got to win got to get this taste out of our mouth you it’s Any Given Sunday they say that each week week in and week out because anybody anybody can lose like everybody’s good on this level and like you can’t you can’t take no team uh for granted can’t take no team lightly and then you know sometimes if you go in the game and you do that and you see the outcome were you guys caught off guard by how fast St con was on the 70 yard I really need to watch fam on that because I was on the right side so but he was a tight end right great play by him you know uh we we play him again right okay no what the hell that was that was interesting uh but Jimmy did a good job at nickel uh he needs to be a little more open to it we don’t know how long pet is going to be out um he needs to be a little more open to it uh because he’s he’s good in that role um traditional safety there’s some flaws uh I do think that teams are starting to and you heard him say they had a better game plan I think teams are starting to sniff out the Eric Murray’s the uh intermediate routes I mean they were putting Ridley in the slot early on I mean Westbrook Westbrook his his over under was like 30 yards I I hammered that because that he’s there’s very they’re very prone to get beat at by tight ends and the intermediate routes they were able to take advantage of it so we’ll see what happens uh I not pleased overall with the way this went uh I I think it comes down to the offense though uh there’s no margin for air with the defense like you know that’s that’s very apparent and the offense a lot of times they don’t even give them much of a rest uh so that’s what it is uh Ryan ask if if I hit my bet us parlay um I missed it by seven Dalton schul yards uh so would have been uh
