in the end on the balance of everything that we have seen including the fact that Liverpool significantly were down to 10 men will they be pleased will that man be pleased with a point Danny I think tomorrow morning when he wakes up he’ll be absolutely ecstatic because not just the fact they they got a point after going behind it was the way they fought the resilience the intensity the quality forget the T forget the title race forget the points that was Spirit character quality everything think you want from a group of players he saw today after a top European game really good absolutely 10 men from what just like 19th minute that’s a long time to play with one less player well I said at half time a point would be a good result for them and they um got pushed at times even fullam had a chance right at the end as well so it was it was a difficult game but I think as Danny mentioned the character to make sure they come away with the result and make sure that they keep building um on the the lead they have that you can see the table Chelsea hunting them down Arsenal dropped points as well today so um as Danny said is once he gets in and reflects I think it’ be disappointing because at the end they had so much in the final third to try and get that win and had the momentum um but I think a point is probably crazy afternoon full of talking points as you stand here now the final whistle just gone what are your Reflections uh obviously uh a good comeback that’s uh very positive I think um obviously it’s a disappointing obviously to come with 10 men but the fight we show we kept going scoring um we kept trying we kept trying to find the free man in order to create chances and um could have been more but eventually we take the point and we uh move on so the early part of that match one n down down to 10 men what do you thinking stay calm obviously it sounds um you know easier than to do it but um yeah listen it’s uh it was always going to be tough against them they make it tough to a lot of teams and we seen it last year when they came here obviously and uh last week when they play Arsenal they uh they made it tough as well and uh we had to play a very good game unfortunately come one down um red card and you have to turn it around and keep fighting and um keep trying to play your uh your football and U that’s what we tried especially the second half and could have lead Tom more but unfortunately it didn’t so there were a number of big decisions in that match Fulham could have had a player sent off twice before Andy Robertson was off I think you were on hand when Andy got shown his red card for the for the challenge feel hard done by with any of it well I had conversations with the other players of fulam as well and we all felt that he was uh maybe a little bit nervous I don’t know maybe if it’s true yes or no but sorry who was nervous the the referee yeah we we felt it a little bit I couldn’t together with uh Robertson couldn’t properly Comm communicate with him I felt you know it is what it is we can’t put the blame on the referee but um it’s also part to the game so so as a captain you’d normally like more dialogue with the referee than you did today well we are the only ones apparently that can speak to the referee and we all speak about protecting the referees and stuff and if we can if if I want to speak for my in behalf of my team then I should be able to and I felt like at times but we shouldn’t make a dick thing out of this but probably going to happen now but it isn’t the reason where we uh we draw points today um there were also multiple other factors and um but we take the point and they will take the point and as you said considering all things that went on in that game it was a a good point earned it was in the manner they they compos themselves and in themselves on um on Fulham great energy you know great Fitness great determination and belief in what they’re doing so just stay calm and overcome the adversity today um lots to take from it from a positive point doesn’t always go your way in the Premier League we saw that today but they get the point they move on yeah I know they were trailing at halim weren’t they and we were talking about what the plan would be for the second half with the 10 men and it was Cody gakpo that got on the score sheet for them yeah I mean I think it was probably the uh only thing maybe that Robinson had done done wrong in the game is not get tight to moal and give him the time and space to do that any player with this time and space is going to produce Magics and moments and quality there’s a big distance you got to get out to him you’ve got an extra player there’s no one behind you get tight stop the cross then there’s obviously an overload around the back stick and look get brilliant diving Ed isn’t going to miss from there you see it from this Angle now nice nice tidy finish but you can’t give him oel of that time we’ve already seen what he can do throughout the season The Season’s gone before if you give him that space he will put that on a six points for gak P which he did what an assist from mosalah he 100th for Liverpool in all competitions that was some ball it doesn’t surprise us though does it it doesn’t I mean if you give him time and space whether it’s the outside of his for whether it’s curling and the in swingers he does it week and week out he’s just so consistent with his end product nothing goes wrong for him at the moment and long may it continue should the keeper have done any better there to save that goal that one yeah nah no the only thing I think from there is he stop the cross but it’s still only the one time that he didn’t get out every other time Robinson’s straight out and he’s so aggressive to get tight to the ball was the one time he didn’t um and it’s it’s hurt them and it came at the right time didn’t it quite early on in the second half as well they really needed to start the second half fast well you could tell they were aware of that and the fans went up the players confidence and energy went up and then all of a sudden Fulham were on the back foot okay well I’m delighted to say we’re going to head straight back to anfield now and speak to that goal scorer Cody gakpo Cody it’s a pleasure to have you with us thank you for joining us on Match Day Live first of all talk us through that because we were exhausted watching it uh um yeah obviously it was also an exhausting game for us I think we really fought really hard uh to get a result uh um but yeah at the end draw um yeah not happy with the draw but I think yeah we fought really hard and uh very proud of the guys yes Cody can I ask you about the uh the fitness levels the team have shown and the intensity after a tough game midweek in Europe I think that was one of the most impressive things for me how intense the performance was in the second half everybody looked so fit and Sh yeah I think um we are very fit uh over L the crowd helps us a lot especially at home um but yeah we we train hard uh to to be ready for such moments hopefully they don’t come uh that often but yeah uh we are fit enough Cody we going to show you your goal now can you talk us through it and and what was the process leading to it and then your brilliant finish here it is now just coming into your screen so yeah Lucho on the ball I think yeah Mo I always know mo when he’s there he can give the ball like this the ball went over Lucho and I just yeah tried to head it in h great ball good finish um yeah good sorry I think sorry I was going to ask you at half time what did the manager say was more about the energy or was there a tactical shift as well um yeah a small tactical shift uh when we had the ball and when we didn’t have the ball but mostly about just the intensity uh try to get the crowd behind us like they always do and go for the goal and yeah it happened and uh yeah we did we did a good job I think to put uh that much energy in the game and the crowd helped us a lot for that Cody at the end even though obviously you were down to to 10 plays very early on and you said it was exhausting you had so much momentum before the end was you a little bit disappointed that you couldn’t go on and get the winner in the end yeah I think um we had some great opportunities at the end and then uh yeah it just needs to to to go in the right direction for for the team sometimes it happens today it didn’t so a little bit unlucky in the yeah in the in the last pass or in the in the finishing but I think as a team we showed the character we have and uh that we that we could make it and uh hopefully it will never come that we are down with 10 men but if it comes we we know that we can win exactly well thank was and what I really liked is actually he was really disappointed that they couldn’t go on and win it and that’s the mentality they have he’s he’s um he’s got a wonderful mentality as a individually as a player to keep going and even at times he’s been criticized in the past his work ethic is always the same wherever he’s has to play and he epitomized that Liverpool performance he gets in on the back post he gets a goal he presses he does his work he had to tweak his position second half which we know is we talked about halftime so I I I think there’s so much for Liverpool to take from that from that performance in a positive sense rather than worry about the two- points drop a little warning you know track your Runners be switched on Wilson again involved who’s been terrific and you can see the M white shirts getting forward nice and confident that that’s based on the season they’ve had already this is a brilliant finish great cross from Robinson we talked about him earlier back playing their this is this is seeing it again there’s the pass watch Robinson he runs off the back Salah now if salah’s not going to track him I think graen B’s got to go over and help Trent Trent’s got 2V1 against him graen B stays in his position maybe thinking a ob’s going to come on so it leaves Trent in a bit of a quandry Robson gets in as we shown ear he can produce but still he’s got a bit to do there Pereira and that is a hell of a good technique to get there so stretched out and still have the control to get it on target little bit of Fortune going in off Robertson but probably deserved the goal from the start made and and really surprised by Liverpool’s lack of intensity really at the start of the game only the fourth goal they’ve conceded at anfield this Premier League season five in all competitions and then things went from bad to worse because of the Robertson sending off which I don’t think we can debate no we can’t debate um thought there was a check for offside but he he was on side Wilson it’s a poor touch from Robinson he’s gone with his left foot and he’s not the right one he’s obviously took him out and there’s no question for me it was a straight read the referee made the right decision there it’s contact there on his left shin there’s no question about that is a goal scoring opportunity so the referee in the end made the right decision and there’s the offside that was ruled onside which is the correct decision and Andy Robertson went off early and obviously now Liverpool massively up against it this is the um the ones yeah early on I I I don’t think Karen and I agree this isn’t a red card he it’s a genuine attempt for the born he misses it and catches him and a yellow’s right it was an accident it it’s high but I don’t think there’s an intent and the force isn’t there so I think the yellow was the right decision you talked pretty much about Liverpool having a plan a BC D yeah what’s the plan now 45 minutes with 10 men well the change St we we noticed it Danny noticed it gone to a three at the back and push people on but fulam are a tough team to break down so I think they just need to be a bit more I think they’re rushing it a little bit on once they get into the finals so they’re rushing it but I won’t be surprised if Nunes comes on a little bit later on and gives him a different Dynamic and a problem
