welcome back to stretford padic this is the Manchester United vers notam Forest Review we have just lost 32 and it is absolutely soul destroying um capitulation um mistakes not enough quality going forward not anything creative from us I could go through so many players with poor performances today but um I’m not going to lie to you I actually don’t know where to start with that I don’t think we deserve to lose 32 I don’t think not and Forest really had to even do too much but when you’re giving teams at Premier League level gifts and then you’re not showing enough quality in the other areas to actually punish him this is what you’re going to get you’re going to lose at home and I think that’s the first win that Forest have had at Old Trafford in like 30 years but Tom Nathan what are your thoughts on that just think um you know obviously they scored a good first minute header I got to give them that they did what they needed to do obviously we didn’t defend it and we’re always going to say we didn’t do good enough when it comes to them kind of things but we started you know we got back into the game got our goal um with a a nice bit of play and agate doing what he what he does best which is break up play and playing the simple Ball but this time he actually played a nice through ball for garnacho who had a little bit of a Bad Touch keeper saves and then hland there to to put it away so happy with that but we were labored we were labored in the in the half the games I’m looking at the clock going why are we not moving the ball we need to move the ball a bit quicker to get things going and be a bit more you know have a bit more urgency about our game and obviously it was kind of like you know a kind of a game where you just think it’s just going by and it’s just going to just go by if we don’t do something about it we don’t take it by the scra of the neck and to be fair um second half not the first like you said they didn’t even have much to that they had to do I mean a stupid mistake I don’t know I can’t believe I even mentioned On’s name I was thinking should I mention it you know what let me just mention how good he’s been doing yeah and then all of a sudden it’s true it’s true the thing and then ugat obviously being a bit of a Shining Light and playing well I thought he had a really good first half it’s just because he he does his job at a consistent level and he doesn’t kind of play out of his the Realms of his ability and and he does things to a good degree and it’s the same with mazari when mazari came on you can just see how good he is straight away and the fact that players like mazari and Ugarte just I’ve been standing out but more Maz cuz Maz has been our best player this season by far it just shows us the lack of quality from pretty much all of the players and the lack of consistency as well to do the right things just too like SL sloppy and then just too languid I think we’re too easy to play against still we’ve talked at length about the physicality issue and then even going back to the set pieces we looked vulnerable against set pieces against Arsenal who were very good at those and then the first set piece that we conceded you got milenovic against Martinez two Center halfs one’s 5’9 one’s 6’2 too strong for him gets his head on it but then every single set piece after that we look like conceding anyway and we’re not getting the first Contact we’re not even getting a second contact either and then even when we have the ball it’s just too slow we’re not breaking lines enough we’re not being brave enough on the ball and I think sometimes we said it and it sound like a broken record for about 18 months now we too easy to play against and um it’s just I think there’s major question marks about a lot of Personnel in this squad things I I don’t know if we conceded too many chances today I can I can live with there’s parts of that performance I can live with up until a point because I feel like you know this we’re wanting them to you know take take some more chances move the ball quicker but you can see that they they’re thinking about it when they get the ball they want to but that side of what he’s trying to do obviously isn’t there yet and it’s going to be disjointed but you need to give yourself a chance in a game and to you know come back come back to Bruno starting the second half like that with that loose pass and then the mistake from Anana the third goal when that an that Anana one like how do we how’ you even explain that I don’t I don’t know I don’t know there’s not a player in front of him he’s got it’s not like he’s he’s unsighted by it obviously you can see it here he’s I don’t understand is he gambled I think sometimes he G I just what’s he doing on the floor I just think obviously so there’s two mistakes that you’ve got Bruno with a sloppy pass and then you’ve got Anana with basically keeping that you you you don’t see at Sunday League level I’m there’s there’s no way you can win games or win matches or do anything successful with players doing like I can’t that’s what bothers me though cuz well well looking back at today’s game cuz I think it’s not going to be perfect at this point and I thought the reaction to going behind was all right you know we you can see two set P two two setpiece goals in midweek so maybe it’s in your head a little bit the first one we look vulnerable but we responded well you get the goal going at half time 1-1 and it’s like okay we there’s levels that we can go here and then the second half you started like that and you’re 3-1 down to a side that hasn’t really had to do much but you know is going to make it difficult for you to get back in the game at a time when you’re not at your best you need all the help you can get you’re shooting yourself in the foot yeah he own aror a person who was a football player before he became a goalkeeper you know like when you go in goal at times and you just think if you’re not a goalkeeper and you go and goal and then the play is going to shoot you usually just like sometimes you’ll jump away before you’ll jump before the players even shot and you’re like why did he do that’s normal for a keeper who’s not a keeper is that some part of his game that is always had in part of him that he can’t get out of him or something I I I don’t I don’t know just it just seems like it um but if you look through our team people we laugh and joke about the whole B oene and that like the lack of IQ at times and I think we’ve got too many players on our team that have got that brain fart in them and it’s not and it it’s going to hurt us because you one thing you that separates obviously players that are Elite and world class players from the rest it’s not always Talent it’s just about players making the right decisions and doing things consistently well all the time and I don’t think we have players that take enough pride in that and it when you’ve got that it’s just going to it’s just going to put a cap on how far your team can go cuz even for the the the second and third goal at Forest can scored you just like what can you say about the Chris Wood looping head he beats he beats Leno at the back and then it’s lofted and then Martinez Just Let It Go by him and goal it shouldn’t be a goal just like it’s not that this this a time to deal with it andna in fairness to looked a bit ropey but he did the right thing in backing off because Martinez is there yeah and Martinez just just let it in I don’t know why he leave because he just just put something on it if doubt you know and he watches it into in off the post yeah exactly what I will do is obviously I don’t have um a a laptop or the iPad in front of me so I W want to go through the super chats to Ben because um there’s been a lot of super chats so can go through him I’m not sure just play click on top chat yeah and then go on fan funding and we can go for him but going to go through the super chats now I got Liam roria who says amarim trying to instill tactics with these players he like asking a chimpanzee to recreate the Mona Lisa then watching it just eat the Crayons obviously some some of that would have been the case for that’s funny that’s Top Class what I’m not going to lie to you I don’t want to laugh but if you don’t laugh you right I mean but um honestly thinking of yeah yeah it’s just there certain players doing it it was some we had players with a lack of execution on the tag as well so obviously combination of tactics and players just obviously not being good enough and then and you seen the same things again and obviously inos Recruitment and we’ve got a big couple of Windows or so team wants to kind of get this right cuz there’s a lot to fix and it seems like we’ve been repeatedly saying that for 10 years now and got disc combobulate what a name as well just can’t believe fans are tur on unlee or disgrace I think it’s just the fact that since he’s injury I don’t think Martinez has put in a solid performance since then and in that role I think his weakness which is defending the channels and stuff like that he’s been exploited and one thing he is he does the best he can but not to talk about hype there’s only so much he can do in terms of being a center half and defending a box when you are that short cuz he’s there he’s marking milenovic he’s just yeah strong enough that simple sometimes sometimes physiology is just what it is it’s an individual error isn’t it today as well for that third goal yeah yeah I don’t going to kill him for the first one but I’ll kill him for the third one because you should just clear it exactly and you got so cuz I going to go through these as quickly as possible Simon Doyle says I think we may have seen the last of United at the top top level it’s a very long way back and no guarantee we’ll get there that is very Doom and Gloom but I’m not going to lie to you you might not be far off so I can’t lie it does feel like that there’s this sense of like hopelessness sometimes it feels like we’ve been doomed ring your brain for the best ring your brains honest to God but um Rune also says Anana Clown fiester again Martinez won’t last under Ruben long term meu looks like he’s all the void of Talent OR quality he looks a little bit heavy on his return Mayu rashford doesn’t run Burnside is back says I just want normal goalkeeping imagine the jit as he sends through the back line Sorry for the negativity but goodness me I do Mr Alex s it I miss o that sounds like a very emotional man as well I’m not going to lie to you this is what the club does to you and then sah pel says Anana wants to look confident more than be confident I do kind of get what you mean there he does want to look cool when he’s doing stuff but sometimes he’d rather just people do it consistently but we’ll go back to the live chat as well in terms of like obviously the second half and you want us this is what big teams do sometimes the little the smaller teams if you can even say that these days they get a lead they get in front and then they say come on show us the quality that you’ve got to break us down and it didn’t seem like we had that and obviously amam took Bruno off who didn’t have his best game but he did score um and then we’ve obviously brought Ma and xery and rashford and we didn’t really get much from them no is there anything that you would have Chang is everything that you’re looking at where you’re thinking Bruno should have stayed on or do you think it’s just a situation where if Bruno’s not creating things if Ahmad isn’t doing something out of the ordinary we don’t have the quality and ability to break a team down you got to try you got to tryy and change something haven’t you when the game’s going like that and I think Bruno was I’m I’ve seen a couple in the chat there saying about you know questioning bringing Bruno off I I don’t think he can have many complaints with the way it was going and the amount it was breaking down with him he seemed to be struggling a little bit with his own game you know I don’t think that was a a mad decision I was a little bit questioning do you not take him off you know what it’s one of them things with him yeah is you’re going to take him off but who’s going to do better than him yeah when he when he comes off you you might as well keep him on yeah cuz he’s just going to get you a chance or he’ll get you a chance or a goal even at his worst when others won’t get you a chance or won’t get you a goal or won’t do nothing no I agree I think there’s there’s definitely a case for leaving them on and I think with rashford as well i’ said it in the him in that position I thought wasted his time right true we’ve got a few people like saying that Ahmad needs to move into the 10 he’s played really well on right wing back and I think he does the way he plays there he gets into good areas yeah he does I think he I thought Nico Williams is is one of those fullbacks where Defender is not his best trait he’s you better going forward um I thought Ahmad would get the better of him more today I don’t think he got the ball enough but I think he bailed Williams out too much by coming inside I think a couple of times where he did get isolated against Williams it always looked like Ahmad was capable of creating something yeah and I’d like what I want is I think sometimes it’s it’s necessity it’s the same way mazra is one of our best footballers and he’s having to play out of position a lot because he’s so good and he can he’s almost filling in for the fact that we’ve got players that aren’t good enough in their roles and I think ahmad’s doing something similar where ammad could probably play in that 10 position in some games but it’s just the fact that who else can play in that right wing back position and do it well and then put Amed up there now you’ve got the whole side sorted was I thought he was receiving the ball cuz when they decide they’re going to they’re going to drop off and sit in the one way Nik Williams gets booked I think he’s almost thinking it I’ll have a run but he is getting the ball kind of Midway through his own half and that’s generally where yeah so more often than not you are thinking about you know you’re a couple of phases away from that killer ball or run into the box or whatever so that’s you know I understand coming inside I do think that if he’s getting the ball 20 yards further up the pitch I think ammad will go on the outside he does want to he does want to be unpredictable but yeah in that position maybe he is a bit too predictable because he doesn’t want to just run down the outside so far from work to do back as well yeah I know it it’s it it’s unfortunate you know it’s I can’t even say unfortunately just it’s just almost saddening at this point um we saw the likes of Newcastle drop points and then we before okay we can kind of take advantage of it you got Tottenham who always viable to drop points as well City drop points even City have dropped points and then it’s just the fact that we can’t like make the most of it which is the frustrating thing and it’s just the issue is is you have one or two players have an off day and it feels like everything breaks down and that’s the problem what we just want is that them consistent performances I think we shouldn’t give up yet we know there’s a long way to go we know the kind of disarray the squads in um and as amarim said we are going to suffer there’s going to be periods where we are going to suffer for the rest of the season and I think it does seem like it’s not going to be a quick fix and we are a long way back but it’s just some of the performances and some of the executions of basic stuff today from players weren’t good enough you had Doo who I thought had a stinker I think he’s not had one single good game since he’s been in that left wing back area and that’s my guy I thought martinz was poor I think Euro I didn’t was that I mean no I think was terrible I think the LA was bad when you look at them things is there too many of them little things that you that their things where they can lead to a chance or a goal and like where we’ve had some nice buildup play and then he just comes in and bangs it over like do I thought and also on Mayu we love him and he’s been brilliant since he’s arriv since he’s come back though in the couple games that he’s played he’s looked a little bit off it um he’s looked a little bit heavy as well and it’s just about the effectiv I don’t know it’s just that’s the that’s the issue we just got a team now where I think there’s a lot of burden on every player and we just got players that aren’t really living up to it and then you’ve got me thing is xeri comes on does nothing rashford comes on doesn’t affect the game at all and then you’ve got Mason m who I’ve been really critical of and I don’t know he just every time I see me some out player of a cameo I think he doesn’t affect the game at all he doesn’t do anything for me and I don’t I can’t name one thing that he does well on the ball I know what you mean and people say it’s hard and say he works hard and he presses well and stuff but for ยฃ55 million I’ve I can’t I can’t say one thing I’ve seen M might do of been couple times the ball though and and you can see that there’s there’s an intent with his the way he’s trying to drop the shoulder and trying to move and and I feel like there’s there’s almost a sharpness in there that you’re seeing that I’m not seeing from xery and rashford walking around but in that moment when it’s just not working for anyone he’s looking he’s trying to play it but then he’ll he’s not going to he’s not going to play stupid pass he will go sideways and so he needs to be in a better side then he just needs to be part of a better team setup for him to do what he does well maybe maybe but there’s too many of us like that I think we’ve got too many that needs to be in a setup well everyone needs to be in a good setup but like you’re right that’s exactly what I keep saying to myself and I keep just sitting back and going back to the thought of look at his stats at Chelsea I know he’s he’s not like he’s changed as a player like he’s had injuries not not changing your your you know your physical ability what’s what’s he had so I don’t know why he’s not able to produce even half of what he’s been doing at Chelsea I know he’s been injured a lot so you’re not even seeing him many games but I’ve not seen anything yet myself apart from like I said the work rate is good he does shut down at good intensity but you that’s not enough forget Mount anyone who comes on in that position talking about Mania you know what’s ahead of them in that game today it’s this hland you want more from him ahmad’s obviously playing at right wing back rashford I know he didn’t play Gano you you want more from him Bruno he’s had a poor game everyone ahead is there they’re not doing enough it’s true can you scroll up a little bit I I I’ll get into the last few super chats I don’t want to let have any of you um missed out so you’ve got Z go I’ll test you in it the super chats run of games is going to be tough you already has said we’ll have bad times need to keep that in mind we can’t start turning on the guy already people need to realize he needs time and players I think anyone’s turning on I’m not turning on the same way people always Advocate when I was critical after 3 years of of tag is I’m definitely not going to turn around and be heavily critical of am after was coming into a really really poor side that’s underachieving with none none no signings no preseason and trying to kind of turn water into wine almost but antel says Mount does nothing that Fred didn’t agree too many movie stars not enough extras is true I think we have more players that need to just do their jobs well which is the likes obviously what we said youat is done but then you’ve got mazari who’s been good cuz it’s the fact that mazari almost shows his class and he comes for 5 10 minutes as a right center half you can already see it yeah what I mean and we are in a situation now where we don’t know what the best 11 is and it’s not because we’ve got players playing well so you’re like how do we fit everyone in some almost you’ve got too many players playing badly so you’re like who does deserve to play you and that’s issue so um I know we’ve got Manchester City next week so it doesn’t get any easier they’re in poor form but obviously they’re better than Forest but yeah go na you know what every team needs players that can beat players yeah yes and the players that we’ve got that can beat players the end product is not there and they’re not playing well so the only player that can beat players that has had showing glimpses is Ahmad and he’s playing at left wing back but if you look at Rashi garnacho who else is there that can really beat players Highland if you want to say but he’s not really a player who gets it and goes right I’m taking him on no he’s got Pace but if you put it in behind he can run after it but yeah it’s Rashia and garnacho really the two that we really got to look to to go right if he picks up the ball you you look at every other team if that player picks up the ball he’s going to tear you you know but we don’t have enough of them players in our team that will beat you and then also kill you and and that’s what’s the killer yes I think I think there’s a lot of things we need I think we need them a carry a ball carry in field that can actually take people at the game someone that can take it and drive it some people that I just don’t think we have enough of that in the middle and and then you you got creativity issues and then you’ve got us being a little bit fever weight at the back we just need more athletes more physicality and it feels like we need a miracle at this point but somehow we got to keep the faith and just think that we are somehow doomed but I think we’ll actually leave it there um I think a lot of us will go on to probably have a little bit I know you won’t but I might go have a little bit of wine I me so I want to say why and I mean something a lot stronger than that I’m not going to lie to you um and maybe you want to come with me need
